Reviews for City-Hotel Ochsen

Review 1:1)Superior room looks like normald standard room - "super" was only the price 2) I was not able to order a doctor to the hotel 3) last night i had no towel in my room

Review 2:Good location

Review 3:Expensive

Review 4:Large, comfortable room in a well-placed hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and provided us with excellent baby bed for our one-year-old daughter. Excellent breakfast!

Review 5:Hotel is too hot and seemed stuffy

Review 6:Location right in the middle of town couldn't have been better. My room was large (a bit too warm for my liking) and the breakfast was very good

Review 7:Breakfast choices were limited for this category of hotel. Restaurant was being renovated, and the smell of paint and other substances was too harsh on the nose (and lungs).

Review 8:Fantastic and professional people. Great taste in furniture and amenities. Great comfort. Air conditioning. Central location & great character.

Review 9:The elevator closest to our room was broken. We had to take the other elevator to the third floor, walk to the other end of third floor and walk up another set of stairs. The air conditioning was loud and did not work well. Overpriced.

Review 10:They did some laundry for us in six hours. Location. Bus stop nearby to the train station.

Review 11:Nothing!

Review 12:First of all - hotel's location is perfect! Right in the town centre. 1 minute walk to the lake and best places to eat and hang out. Secondly - hotel itself. Historical and well preserved property. Cleanliness that I've experienced was 10. Nothing to complain about. Minimalistic interior inside, but I like it. Feels more spacious and modern. Last, but not least - Customer Focus! That's the best part. It seems that those guys are willing to go extra mile for their guests. Me and my colleagus arrived there on business and needed to rest after. When we woke up it was quite late and everything (bars, restaurants) were already closing. Receptionist/Administrator guy, Stefan, understood our needs for food and drinks and basically made everything himself in their restaurant that was already closed and served us in the bar area. We did get everything that we wanted. Politeness and professionalism at its best! Overall - strongly recommend and next time I am coming there again!

Review 13:Beautiful room in a gorgeous hotel with great view of village square. Friendly staff. Lovely personal touches that made the stay extra special. Great breakfast!

Review 14:Too much smell of smoke everywhere. In the hallways, the breakfast restaurant. Too bad. Had this hotel been non smoking hotel it would have been good.

Review 15:Do not forget to ask for non smoking room - they still have smoking rooms., As non smoker in smoking room I wasn't happy..

Review 16:Location, service - staff is really nice and supporting!

Review 17:The beds were hard as a rock. The lights shone in from outside requiring me to use an eye mask. The outside road noise was loud when the windows were open.

Review 18:The facility was very clean and the linens were clean. The location was near the lake with many options for shopping and dining within walking distance.

Review 19:The bedroom is comfortable, but a bit bare, with wooden floors and no carpet or rugs - so not very cosy. I would have liked a drawer or two to store small items. Breakfast was not as nice as in other Swiss hotels I have stayed in and the coffee was poor.

Review 20:The hotel is very central and just a few steps from the picturesque "old town". There are buses nearby and the railway station can be reached in a few minutes, as can the stop for the lake steamers. The hotel restaurant is good for dinner. The hotel computer can be used free of charge.

Review 21:Stayed in one of the classic rooms. Great shower, the mattress is excellent! Close to the ld town, only a ten minutes walk from the central railway station.

Review 22:No disappointments

Review 23:Great design in a historic building---our room (404) had a superb view to the old town, clock tower & lake---very scenic place.Fine restaurant (ambiance as well as food/wine).goodbreakfast.charming staff.

Review 24:Minor points: Would benefit from more entertainment options (pay per viewmovies or similar)

Review 25:All very good: Staff Food Building Location Cleanliness

Review 26:Very pleasant night's stay. Nice view over an old square.

Review 27:One of our favorite hotels of all time. Great location, simple rooms with everything you need and nothing you don't.

Review 32:The involvement of owners and staff

Review 33:Friendly staff, charming setting, nice breakfast.

Review 34:Couldn't connect to the 'free WiFi' in my room - hopeless for a business traveller

Review 35:Good location.

Review 36:It wasn't clear that if the window was open the AC didn't work and coming in late after dinner was a bad hot sleep.

Review 37:Friendly staff, charming location.

Review 38:Unfortunately the bed was very hard.

Review 39:The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and the hotel was right in the centre of Zug.

Review 44:nice view from the room quiet room nice breakfast

Review 45:Everything was just perfect. But, oh! the bitterorange jam on that slice of bread was just heaven!

Review 46:Very little parking Breakfast could be more interesting

Review 47:Excellent location Very nice character hotel

Review 48:We had a fantastic room with the little tower, very spacious, bright and breath taking view. Very friendly staff.

Review 49:Although a period property , many of the internal features of the Room were in fact modern in design ( albeit quite retro ).

Review 50:the hotel is ideally positioned in a quite yet central part of the Old Town

Review 51:Room rather hot and hard to get temperature right. It would be nice if the hotel had a comfortable lounge with lots of lioght!

Review 52:Friendliness. Convenience.

Review 53:Booked a double room. When I checked in, they made no comment, but they ahd given me a single. When I complained - they gave me the junior suite. If I had not complained, would have paid for a double, and got a single. There was no comment, or apology. But at least they upgraded me when it was pointed out.

Review 54:Upgraded room was very nice. Breakfast was okay, not great, just okay. Location is great

Review 55:No coffee in rooms. Continental breakfasts certainly ample but no cooked option. Quite expensive- compared with other hotels I have stayed at in Zug.

Review 56:Interesting and extremely well executed conversion of a traditional Swiss chalet, in prime location on cobbled square in chocolate box pretty Zug. Lake and views minutes away, excellent local transport to mountains.

Review 57:Noisy street in front of the hotel. Was surprised that the traffic didn't stop all night.

Review 58:Lovely hotel next to lake Zug. Convenient for walking around and close enough to the train station to walk. Many restaurants close by to choose from.

Review 59:The hotel was very nice and clean, and for a business hotel, it wefound it comfortable even though we weren't there on business (thisis a compliment, although it sounds confusing). The staff was friendlyand very helpful. We stayed the evening of August 10th, and we have tosay that the young man who was in charge of breakfast the next morningwas very nice and attentive. Something we found out is that you can getthe key from the reception to get into the clock tower across thestreet. This was a nice little bonus. The internet connection was verygood as well.

Review 60:Сomfortable hotel in the historical center and the convenient location. For lovers of food the hotel has lovely restaurant (almost "haute cuisine")

Review 61:I really enjoyed the location. The room was comfortable and the staff exceptional. I was here on business and wish I'd had a couple of extra days to just relax.

Review 62:Bit pricy

Review 63:Excellent restaurant for dinner and very efficiently managed. Parking arranged very efficiently. Bed very comfortable and a full King.

Review 64:Location is perfect! Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Review 65:Nothing.

Review 66:High quality accommodation.

Review 67:Wifi is weak in some places

Review 68:Location Good sized room

Review 69:Basic room with very simple bed; bed slats with very thin mattress. Price / quality ratio missing

Review 70:Cosy decor, great shower, excellent coffee, friendly staff, nice location

Review 71:"Smoker only" bar

Review 72:Upgraded "non smoking" room Restaurant still open at 9pm Efficient staff

Review 73:All good nothing bad
