Reviews for Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa
Review 1:There wasn't any staff. We went up for a Christmas vacation. The restaurant wasn't even open. There was no view from the breakfast both as there was no breakfast on the resort. Coffee maker didn't work and there wasn't enough staff to even replace it until the next day. We weren't informed there wouldn't be any services until we arrived. 8 hr drive through storms and nasty roads to sit in an un serviced resort. Too bad we were really looking forward to it.
Review 2:Beautiful place. Would have loved to enjoy it.
Review 3:Great location. Fully fitted rooms with kitchens and laundry facilities in room. Great cable tv- all sports channels. Easy walking distance to town. Great wines
Review 4:Here's what I liked: Wonderful location, beautiful view out the window, spacious. I wish I had more time to spend in this really relaxing and comfortable holiday home.
Review 5:Appreciated the special price, the resort is clean and well kept, and the staff are friendly. A great location to stay when visiting a relative who lives in Osoyoos.
Review 6:Our room was very dark. Not much natural light coming in. Needed lamps and overhead lights on at all times.
Review 7:The pool, steam room and spa. Ding room was very good as well.
Review 8:A TV crew was filming when we arrived and thought they owned the place. They were rude and restricted the areas we could use
Review 9:It was a very nice complex although some of it was closed for the out of season
Review 10:The room was absolutly beautiful. We were able to have friends over for a "just like home experience " Location was great for what we wanted to do.
Review 11:The room could have been a bit cleaner and the resort is away from the town so you have to drive everywhere.
Review 12:Very comfortable beds and a very nice suite. Good value for money during off season. Nice and quiet.
Review 13:suite was very comfortable. We were a couple with a single friend. Lots of room. Loved the two bathrooms, the kitchen. We were right across from the wine tasting so it was no problem to run over and buy a bottle or two.
Review 14:The restaurant food and wine selection was nediocre at best, for the level of restaurant they purport to be. It is a very lg favility and the front desk was slightly B list, more holiday inn than resort & spa.
Review 15:Location stunning, grounds and pool etc nice, very quiet, very relaxing. Suites large and well stocked for extended stays.
Review 16:Hotel was only half full if not less but our request to be in the same building with our friends wasn't granted despite that we reserved rooms in one booking. 2dr appartment was in the Lavender building facing mountain and roof access was under repairs so we had to go accross the street to the main building to enjoy the view only to be asked to leave because they were preparing roof for the wedding.Very disappointed. Jets in both hot tubs were nothing like they should be. House keeping leaves at 5pm, so we had to wait till next day for 2 additional bathrobs.
Review 17:Location. Room amenities.
Review 18:The fridge is making noise - if people are sleeping on the sofa bed during the night, that could be a nuisance.
Review 19:Great location, 1 (or 2) bedroom villas are great for families. View over the vineyard is great. Seems very recent so everything is in good shape.
Review 20:We didn't like the main resturant, food and quality was poor and overpriced. The suite did need to be touched up, walls looking banged up
Review 21:The suite was very comfortable. It is nice to have a kitchen available for longer stays.
Review 22:2 of the 3 restarants were closed.this was not mentioned on line or at the resort. My booking said lake view if available. I did not get a lake view and thought I would by booking well in advance.
Review 23:Great to have a condo for the space and kitchen. Nice to have 2 pools and a gym. Having a golf course and winery on Ste is brilliant!
Review 24:Staff wasn't so good with requests. They never got back to us on a few issues we had.either than that. It was an amazing stay. And we will definitely be going back there. Absolutely amazing resort.
Review 25:Not enough staff at the front desk always one on staff. Also the lay out of the washroom doors were very awkward.
Review 26:The bedroom was a good size. We liked the laundry in the room. Overall the room was a good layout.
Review 27:Did not like that it was so late in the day to register. It's not even a full day in the suite only 19 hours. It's like hotels these days don't want people to stay and enjoy the area. As well we left an IPad adaptor the was plugged in over the kitchen cabinet.
Review 28:The room was very well set upi
Review 29:The facility is well kept, staff friendly and helpful and our room was clean and very quiet. A perfect spot after a long day of travel. We also found the bed to be very comfortable.
Review 30:Water which I ran in the tub was very brown.....had the tub half full when I looked....didn't get a bath the night we stayed
Review 31:The suite was so comfortable and the beds as well
Review 32:No view of the lake Wind whistle at our door Another entrance would Have been good Food pricey..need Senior or smaller portion options
Review 33:Nice large unit Room service each day
Review 34:Faux fireplace could be gas at minimum. Electric BBQ could be propane. No DVD player in room.
Review 35:Beautiful place. Loved the energy. very calm and relaxed atmosphere. Wish we stayed longer.
Review 36:We enjoyed our fabulous suite and the view. The Staff was very friendly, the place was extremely clean, the food was delicious and wine was very good!
Review 37:No bar/food service by quiet pool. You have to go upstairs to order, slightly over priced ($10/drink)
Review 38:Beautiful setting and scenery, nice rooms, friendly staff
Review 39:We loved our stay at Spirit Ridge! The location is Fabulous!!...tucked away in the Nk'mp winery...and just minutes away from so many other local great wineries! Best views from the resort. Large comfortable rooms with kitchenette...one of our best weekend getaways!! Definitely will come back to this resort!!
Review 40:Moldy shower. Tub barley big enough for 1 person let alone 2. Old food on pans in kitchen cupboard. Furniture filled rooms, there wasn't even enough room to lay a suitcase on the floor in the bedroom, just in the closets which were butch black so then you couldn't see your things. Check in wasn't until 4 and they wouldn't allow earlier, I'm sure they must have a room clean before then seeing as check out was 11, or at the very least offer to store our bags, acess to the pool, or even some self market tin by suggesting the golf course or one of the onside facilities.... very poorly managed. No poolside bar. Not even a Continental breakfast for the working price of the room. Dinner was sub part for $150. Won't be coming back.
Review 41:BBQ on the patio. Beautiful view from the pool.
Review 42:Pools were smaller than they looked in the pictures; plus the pool water was very cloudy. Plus there were no towels at the beach too.
Review 43:Its a nice friendly resort. The shuttle driver was very helpful and friendly.
Review 44:My reservations were messed up. I had, and you confirmed, two- 2 bed room villas and when I arrived, I only had one. That is not performance.
Review 45:I think I have a problem with the bill. I will have to check my records. I just drove home and too tired right now to be bothered.
Review 46:The beds in our room were very uncomfortable, no support too soft.
Review 47:Nice room fully equipped, restaurants good but a bit pricey, nice pool, staff ready to help
Review 48:Service was poor, not regular shuttle to the beach and nobody actaullytook on the responsibility to help. Some people waited 45 minutes withsmall children .
Review 49:Beautiful grounds
Review 50:Cleaning staff could have been more efficient when cleaning our suite. Ex. clean bathroom sink and shower on a daily basis, not only change towels.
Review 51:Excellent facilities and location. Desert centre on site. Choice of pools (one for families and another for adults only). Well appointed suite with a lovely view of the vineyard and mountains.
Review 52:If anything is a little disappointing it is the beach. But the pool area makes up for that.
Review 53:The resort is good, room was large and comfortable, staff was friendly, breakfast at Talons is AMAZING. Pool is great for family's with young kids. All around it was a great vacation spot.
Review 54:The bed was too soft and not as comfortable as expected. It air was very smoky one day due to a nearby forest fire.
Review 55:The food at the two restaurants was very good. Some great wineries to visit in the area.
Review 56:Beach was terrible, so small and dirty! Chairs were terrible! The pictures online are nothing of what it actually looks like. The reason we went was because it had a beach! The beach is about a 4 minute bus ride, the guy driving you is what makes it enjoyable! Absolutely one of the nicest guys we have met! Adult pool is really small, someone rarely comes around to offer drinks.
Review 57:Most of the staff were wonderful! The rooms were great!
Review 58:Commons areas could use a little more cleaning attention(entrance way, hall ways). Was very put off by the winery. We toured a number of wineries and there was never any talk about cost. Most places had a wine they were proud of and they were pouring it as you came through the door. Not so here. First thing out was only two tastings and they didn't have many types of bottles available for tasting. Very put off
Review 59:Great place for kids. Nice pools. Room was very comfortable.
Review 60:The night staff was not very helpful. The balcony doors auto lock behind you. Unfortunately my sister and I locked ourselves out and the staff made us feel so awful about it and that we were completely inconveniencing him. Huffing and puffing while he got the spare key. The other issue was the restuarant in the main building. The portion sizes are horribly small. I'm a small girl and I had to go make another lunch after eating lunch at their restuarant. It was expensive.
Review 61:I thought the resort was beautiful! It is a perfect location and had everything you needed.
Review 62:There is a family pool and a 'quiet' pool for adults. Unfortunately, guests don't pay attention to this and brought screaming infants and young kids making noise in the quiet pool. Staff did not remind those guests that they should be at the family pool where making noise and having fun is encouraged.
Review 63:This is a nice property. Room was very clean and comfortable.
Review 64:Very disappointed with the location of our 2 bedroom suite. We paid a lot to end up having a "view" of the dusty parking lot and resort driveway and this building does not even feel like part of the resort. Construction trucks and delivery trucks roaring by was not in the room description.
Review 65:Had a good time with my family, we enjoyed the quiet pool. The villa was very comfortable.
Review 66:Unfortunately there was a small problem with our booking which necessitated we move to another unit on our last night there. Even though we were credited with an adjustment on our bill, we would not do that again. Packing, then unpacking, then packing again just for one night, all within 24 hours is not how to end what had been to that point a relaxing, enjoyable week.
Review 67:The staff at Spirit Ridge is more than helpful. We always experience a smile and friendly greeting as well as professional service. We keep returning to Spirit Ridge because of the staff and the accommodations. Jas greeted us at the reception desk, and ensured that our accommodations were exactly what we had requested. A small booking problem was handled by Robin. She made adjustments to our bill that were fair and much appreciated.
Review 68:The lack of pool supervision, the lack of being able to book a cabana due to your booking policies, a family can book a cabana weeks in advance for all 3 days, and no one else can use it. For what we paid, we should have had option for an all inclusive breakfast.
Review 69:The pool close for kids to swim in and enjoy on a hot runners day/night.
Review 70:Waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes for two take out salads which when they finally arrived were barely palatable and went into the trash. Not enough staff at times, this comes with a small town with mostly seniors, self starter business people and tourist coming and going. The barbecue took far too long, we used the stove.
Review 71:Beautiful setting, everything close by. Walk score for a resort 85. Friendly staff. Dinner at Talons- Fabulous. Also enjoyed preparing and cooking our own meals In suite. Staff took the time to understand our one complaint.
Review 72:Dishes were still in the washer when we came in and shower space in the room was not squeaky clean (there were few strands of hair left).
Review 73:Staff are very courteous, friendly and accommodating. Comfortable beds and relaxing pool experience.
Review 74:The only slight problem was that our room was never cleaned until about 5pm or so despite our being out of the room all day.
Review 75:Loved, loved Spirit Ridge. Beautiful location.
Review 76:We enjoyed the Cultural Centre and the hiking trail around the property . . . and we really enjoyed our view from the condo overlooking the vineyards.
Review 77:I did not like the fact that this resort did not have an all inclusive option
Review 78:I liked the fact that I felt safe and I also liked the fact that if the staff did not know the answer to something they would find it out and get back to you in a short period of time
Review 79:no cream for the morning coffee in the room - coffee mate is better than nothing.
Review 80:Dinner outside the tasting bar looking out at the vineyards, so gorgeous! The best wine was the rose and the best food was the prawn appetizer. Also we love the cabanas to get away from the shade.
Review 81:The housekeeping staff were terrible, we always leave a $5.00 tip on our bed but the room was dirty, never vacuumed in the 7 days we were there, bathroom/toilet never scrubbed, had to ask to change the sheets. We are extremely tidy when we travel as if we were in our own home, our requests were not unreasonable. Not impressed, needs better housekeeping for the price of the room.
Review 82:There was nowhere to get a up of coffee in the morning as the kitchens did not open until 8.00 am Every other hotel we have stayed in from Holiday Inn Express to the Ritz in London has coffee available with some sort of cookies earlier.
Review 83:Nice location and staff....peaceful at night.
Review 84:Unsupervised pool area in the evening. Loud unruly party of young adults, throwing full beer cans to each other in the pool. Open use of alcohol, cases of beer brought down by guests, no regard for anyone else. Potential for huge problems in the future
Review 85:The pool areas were so lovely Everything so clean and fresh
Review 86:The access to the suite to the parking lots and the receptionist needs more training so they can explain the amenities properly
Review 87:Bedrooms and the condo-like setting
Review 88:The dining was too expensive. We never did eat at the resort - because of the price. I would like to see one "blue collar" cafe.
Review 89:The ambience and the amenities.
Review 90:We were disappointed that it was so noisey(hockey players) running in halls, riding scooters on back walkways and nearly knocked us down.
Review 91:Staff were extremely helpful.
Review 92:Our telephone in the Living Room did not work. Our Faucet handles needed some attention in the Bath Tub & Kitchen.
Review 93:We loved the wrap around Deck, the two bathrooms, the separate toilet in the Master. The onsite Restaurant, Winery & pathways and trails were nice.
Review 94:The check-in staff put us in the pet-allowed suite at first place When we had no pets. The WiFi was very slow and a lot of kids playing made our stay not too relaxing.
Review 95:The location and facility are the reason we chose to go back the second time.
Review 96:Had to wait for 50 min. With help from the frontdesk guy and the janitor to get back in our room after our great dinner because the room door wouldn't open :(
Review 97:Comfort & very clean
Review 98:Heater fan a little noisy from bedroom. Could not figure out how to turn on fireplace. Did not attempt to use wi-fi
Review 99:Last minute booking thru Expedia gave me good room at fair price. Room was comfortable and clean. Had appetizer in lounge/restaurant. Met Sous Chef Rafael, who was cordial and helpful. Enjoyed glass of nkmip 2012 merlot (very good). All in all, good but brief stay (traveling through). Have camped numerous times in lake front property, but this was first time to stay in hotel portion
Review 100:Everything was perfect!
Review 101:The room set up. The separation between bedrooms. TV in each room. Bathroom with deep bathtub. Didn't have time to use Washer and Dryer but if longer stay it would be very useful. The view. Walking through the vineyard. The staff were all friendly. Robbie was very helpful with our requests.
Review 102:Wifi in the room was spotty and kept disconnecting . Not walking distance to the town or other services outside the resort.
Review 103:Large fully equipped suites. Great value. Awesome to be so close to the nk'mip cultural centre. The whole place has a really great aboriginal look and feel. Good food at the restaurant and friendly staff.
Review 104:The Restaurant Felt it was cold and uninviting the waiter was great and very prompt and attentive but our food was disappointing. I ordered the vermicelli rice noodle with seafood and flat steak - it was awful! the restaurant ran out of prawns so these teenie tiny shrimp were in it, I had 1 scallop the size of my pinky nail and the flavour was not good at all. I was very disappointed in the overall price and flavour of this dish. My husband ordered a $40 bison rubbed with coffee. Although it was very tasty we were left disappointed with two teenie tiny 1/2 potatoes and 4 pinky sized carrots for $40. If we came back to Spirit ridge sadly we would choose other options for dinner reservations. I understand that a chef is in the kitchen, as our uncle is a swiss chef... but portions and flavour do not have to be compromised for high end service.
Review 105:The location of the resort cleanliness the full size kitchen in our room the pool facilities the spa -awesome!
Review 106:air conditioning on all the time, couldn't figure out how to adjust ? we were only there overnight so didn't get a chance to benefit from any of the facilities. also raining, couldn't fine the Mexican bistro by the water, which the front desk told us about.
Review 107:very beautiful location, nice facilities
Review 108:The restaurant menu needs a bit more creativity. The food was ok but would have loved a wow dinner to match the wow view..
Review 109:Great accommodations and amenities. The view from the restaurant was spectacular.
Review 110:-staff in the store...not welcoming or polite -room was teaming with fruit flies -sound proofing in rooms non existent -poor view ( the side of a hill) -dirt on bed sheets -had to walk for 10 minutes ( through a trailer park) to get to the "private beach and bistro" both of which turned out to be very sub-standard considering the price of the hotel
Review 111:pool service ( ie food/drinks) should be available until 7 pm or longer restaurant - only one was open in mid August at dinner - they had run out of a lot of items on the menu. have more people working at the coffee shop. There were long lineups and not fair to workers or to customers. have more to do - larger pools, consider adding volleyball or something for young adult, older adults and kids.
Review 112:gorgeous location, goodish food in restaurant, clean pools, great winery.
Review 113:Outside of my son's suite, the neighbour's air conditioning unit is placed to that it blows hot air and a whole lot of noise onto their deck. It really spoils the deck as there is no way to control it. The pool area is not big enough for the number of guests using it.
Review 114:The suites and setting were lovely. The metal sculptures decorating the property are quite beautiful. The Talon restaurant location is great and the food was great.
Review 115:Lawn mowing at 730 am right outside your paper thin walls. Terrible. Three times in a row despite raising objections after the first time. Was told it would be corrected and on two subsequent visits we experienced the. Exact same thing. Customer does not count to the management of this property. It is nice but you'd best like to wake up at the crack of dawn.
Review 116:Wi-fi wouldn't work.
Review 117:Beautiful resort with great amenities! Clean, comfortable suite. We all wished we could have stayed longer. We'll be back!
Review 118:We booked dinner for 8.30pm and requested a table outside, on arrival was told that the table was not avaliable for 20mins and after been seated was told that the kitchen was closing in 10 mins.
Review 119:cleaniness, view of the mountains, room size and facilities ie pool, gym and hot tub. friendly staff.
Review 120:Good location, amazing staff, gorgeous view of the valley. My favourite place to stay in BC.
Review 121:Amazing room for the rate!
Review 122:Room was a little too warm on arrival. Would like to see a local hiking map.
Review 123:Excellent staff. Well laid out suite. Warm parking.
Review 124:The room was clean and staff was pleasant.
Review 125:Very spacious one bedroom. Off season so very quiet with genuine desert aura but quite close to Osooyos.
Review 126:We were two couples sharing a two bed/two bath villa. Our unit had a beautiful view of the vineyards and the lake. Perfect!
Review 127:Room was dark ,living room with hide a bed small .
Review 128:Beautiful Facilities .restaurant ,pool etc
Review 129:Out of town.
Review 130:Liked that it was clean and quiet.
Review 131:We had to go home.
Review 132:The room was very well equipped for a relaxing get away. Lovely view and great restaurant.
