Reviews for Porto da Lua
Review 1:The air conditioning and the poor internet connection.
Review 2:We liked the location, the charm of the Pousada, the smile, warmth, and professionalism of its staff, the breakfast, the touch of design of Lila's caipiroskas, the view...
Review 3:I spent 3 days in Porto da Lua and it was perfect. It's a great place to spend a peacefully and quiet time by the sea. The room was really nice, clean and comfortable, and had a great balcony facing to the sea. For breakfast and tea time a huge variety of food, cakes, fruits, juices is served - Everything was delicious.
Review 4:WiFi could be better but we should all learn to do with less of it anyway! Only one complaint: cannot get coffee until 8:00 am
Review 5:Beach front location. Totally peaceful and quiet. Easy pleasant walk to restaurants and shops.
Review 6:The food is not the best. I would recommend to eat in the village instead. It's a bit expensive.
Review 7:Great location, charming rooms, nice view and helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay. The beach is pretty and it's great to be able to stay in the garden of the hotel all the way down to the beach.
Review 8:Wi-Fi available in lobby and other public places, but is not available in the rooms.
Review 9:Good breakfast and afternoon tea; polite, friendly and helpful staff. Front grounds adjacent to the ocean are well kept and very clean.
Review 10:- rocks in front of the hotel, made swimming a bit difficult, yet nice to have natural pools at low tide, can't have it all! - no wifi in the rooms at the end of the corridor, too far from the signal, which could be easily solved with a bit of investment, though
Review 11:- so close to the beach! Just paradise - extra comfortable deck chairs with cushions, excellent place to relax - delicious caipirinhas - friendly staff - close to the village too - delicious breakfast, good idea to give food at 4.00, even if it is the leftovers from the morning
Review 12:It would be nice if we have wifi in the bedroom. At the balcony we could catch some signal, but inside the bedroom at the second floor, it was not ok. In the lobby wifi is good. I missed a hairdryer in the bathroom. It would be nice to have one if I stayed there for one week, for example.
Review 13:Staff is very friendly. Location is very good, just in front of the beach. Prices at restaurant and frigobar are good. The plus was the afternoon tee: they offer a nice coffee, tea, cakes and other delicious things about 4p.m and 5p.m. I can't wait to return because I loved the hotel and the place.
Review 14:No complaints.
Review 15:Amazing hotel! Fantastic view to the sea, just by the beach, great location at walking distance from the village of Praia do Forte and the restaurants, warm and welcoming staff! Amazing place, I will certainly return.
Review 16:The room was may be a little bit to dark but not a big issue since we stayed out side all the time
Review 17:Great place to stay The staff was always very kind helpful and efficient The location is great close to nice beaches With luck you can see wild turtles in the ocean We will definitely come back We stayed a full week The breakfast is excellent the best I ever had The restaurant of the posada is also great A place to go in brasil
Review 18:A little pricey for this 3 star resort. Could upgrade the facilities as they are a little run down. The dirt road getting there was bumpy and had to walk through large puddles walking to and from town.
Review 19:room view. great balcony.
Review 20:Restaurant overcooked everything beyond belief.
Review 21:Sound of the surf in the room. Any closer to the beach and your bed would be floating.
Review 22:Wifi was spotty and could really only be accessed via the lobby for the most part.
Review 23:Loved the location, absolutely beautiful
Review 24:Should have WIFI in the rooms.
Review 25:Doors do not provide good noise insulation
Review 26:Location Size of rooms Decoration Service Food
Review 27:poor wi-fi, restaurant, mainly in the evening
Review 28:Location, close to the beach, the balcony , staff
Review 29:the location, the staff, the whole atmosphere
Review 30:Poor construction, outdated and poorly maintained facilities, no amenities, no in-room WiFi, ridiculuos TV set
Review 31:Location - can't beat that
Review 32:Wi-fi in the rooms will be great
Review 33:The staff, the food, the location
Review 34:I loved the view on the ocean, the terrasse and hamac, and the nice people at the reception.
Review 35:Great location on the beach Very friendly staff although that don't speak English
Review 36:Location, view from the room, afternoon tea&cake, the breakfast.
Review 37:The location is wonderful for being right on the beach-- you can walk 10 minutes for perfect snorkeling, right next to the turtle project, and lots of shopping just a few minutes away.
Review 38:Beautiful view of the sea. The hammock on our balcony! Teatime in the afternoon with lots of delicious cakes (free). The staff were very friendly. They spoke minimal English but we managed to make conversation through a mixture of English, French, Spanish and Portuguese!
Review 39:10% tip surcharge on the final price could be unfair when browsing and comparing prices with other hotels (especially as an extra to the room price not a meal or drink). Bathroom very minimalist and no hot wother in the sink. Difficult to speak english. You can have mosquitos in the room (that is part of the experience!).
Review 40:The staff very nice, helpful and beach staff very attentive and discrete. Position in front of the beach and the fact that is not too big dimension and there is no swimming-pool make quiet the place. Breakfast fantastic with fresh and homemade local food. Afternoon snack is a nice plus. Dinner restaurant very good. Wifi overall better than local average but not always stable. Great experience, we will come back (actually we extended our staying for more days!).
Review 41:Nothing.
Review 42:We loved, loved the hotel. Fantastic location for snorkeling and resting. The natural pools are teaming with marine life a few steps from our beach umbrella. The piscinas naturaes at low tide make this easy, even if you are not a great swimmer. The view from our room was of turquoise waters and swaying palm trees. Our balcony on the third floor felt very private with a nice hammock and to die for sunrise. The staff was so attentive and went the extra mile to make us comfortable. I loved Val, their excellent massage therapist so much that I got 3 massages right on the beach during our stay. Imagine getting a fantastic therapeutic massage lulled by ocean waves and a gentle breeze. Paradise! They have a very good buffet breakfast and 4:00PM tea to boot! Fresh and sweet fruit with tasty coffee cake and other yummy Brazilian breakfast foods. The village of Praia do Forte is laid back and tourist friendly. We went next door to TAMAR--the turtle rescue project--and even got to see a hatching turtle go to sea one at sundown! We are coming back to Porto da Lua for sure.
Review 43:The pillows were a bit tired but that's the only tiny thing- smelt a bit fusty.
Review 44:We booked one of the larger rooms which turned out to be a suite with a lovely balcony overlooking the beach. Very nicely decorated - simple and rustic but very well kept. Air con in the bedroom was super quiet. Staff were extremely warm and helpful even if they spoke limited English. Breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. Dinner likewise -all very fresh food- and very well priced. As the road to the village was quite potholed and wet we dined at the hotel every night so can't compare but I doubt we'd have got better elsewhere and prices were very good. This is a very quiet location at the end of the village so walks along the endless beach were easy. The best place in town. Well done!
Review 45:Lovely hotel for a relaxed beach getaway. Sea right outside the back gate. Good food in restaurant. Walking distance to town, more restaurants and shops. Friendly staff, language barrier sometimes a problem.
Review 46:Seaside location was better than any we saw in the locality. The beachwas however a bit rocky but clear sand beaches were a short taxi rideaway and it is a short bay-side walk to the heart of the village. Thestaff had limited English or Spanish but communication worked out in theend. Rooms were basic and the doors did not close well but the excellentsea view made up for that. The dining room was a bit drab but breakfastwas excellent. The cook was spot on for the one evening meal we had.
Review 47:Bedrooms need a serious renovation. No eggs at all nor old cuts forbreakfast. Wifi only in the lobby area. Below standards regardingthe price.
Review 48:Excellent location. Not the only hotel on the beach but the first onebuilt on the beach in Praia do Forte. Pousada "Farol dasTartarugas" just next to it looks brand new and higher in comfort.
Review 49:A bit awkward to find if arriving in the dark in a hire car
Review 50:Direct access to an excellent beach and a hassle-free environment
Review 51:Alles war super. Etwas teuer vielleicht wegen WM
Review 52:Excelent location and service. Grate place to relax, enjoy nature and local culture!
Review 53:Super friendly staff, lovely peaceful location, really nice premises...would return any day!
Review 54:Breakfast
Review 55:- at the beach it was hard to get into the water, a lot of stones, even at high water
Review 56:- relaxation at its best - good beds - good atmosphere
Review 57:A beautiful relaxing, fantastically sea side experience, the ultimate getaway experience.
Review 58:Everything was perfect in this hotel and the staff very friendly and very efficient. I will certainly return there and recommend it to my friends.
