Review 1：Would have been more comfortable if it had air conditioning, and the rooms need to be updated.

Review 2：The view of the ocean, and the price. The room was clean, and large.

Review 3：Fridge/freezer need replacing - threw out much of our food! Toilet seat fell off. Shower head sprayed out of both ends. Large resident spider and cobwebs under bathroom sink. Older tube TV. A fair bit of traffic noise.

Review 4：WiFi and bed were both good, and the manager wanted to do well. Beautiful sunrise from water edge across the road.

Review 5：The Kitchenette is very dated and desperately needs to be refreshed or re done. I did use the kettle it looked dirty. Why would you ask the guest to wash dished and put them away. How would the next guest be assured that they have been cleaned hygienically and just not just rinsed underwater, especially when no detergent is left in the room. I would take down the sign saying you will be charged for not washing up and suggest that it is the job of the hotel to do this and not the guest. This is to ensure that dishes are washed to a hotel standard and for this reason I would not stay again.

Review 7：The light on the outside was just outside our room and the curtains did not do enough to make it dark enough to sleep.

Review 8：Breakfast was in the form of a voucher for Ricky's or mcdonalds which is useful as we had to get up early for an activity one day and we were able to use the voucher for a 'breakfast' at dinner time so it is flexible. The guy on reception was fantastic, very patient and kind and helpful in explaining where everything was in town. This motel was clean and in a good location for getting to the harbour. Also you could see the water from the room.

Review 9：The restaurant providing the breakfast is about 6 km away. That is only good if you arrive with a car.

Review 10：The owners were very accommodating. They knew who I was when I arrived, had the key ready, provided a coupon for breakfast at Ricki's, and were helpful and positive when handling a minor problem with the cablevision. Though an older building, it was clean and comfortable.

Review 11：If I had to say something it would be if you can get past the older 'decor' of the rooms then you'll have a great stay. We had everything we needed, even a kitchenette.

Review 12：Ideal location. From outside the hotel you are able to walk across the street to a nice little cafe by the water and parks or along the road to shops. Staff are absolutely lovely and really helpful.

Review 14：Excellent view. Our room faced across Discovery Channel to Cape Mudge lighthouse. Can sit on the outside and watch the boats go by. Large room with useful kitchen facilities. Popular coffee shop across the street. Walking/cycling path along the ocean. Staff friendly and efficient.

Review 15：The room was clean and functional, everything you would expect for a decent motel. There is even a small kitchen. Great for one night stay or a few days.

Review 16：beds uncomfortable not best value for money considering it was an ok motel- probably could get better for a little more money. a basic motel. our room was not cleaned, beds not made as the maid "forgot." There are better places for probably the same price or for a bit more money. In the end, we did not need the kitchenette.

Review 18：Noisy because of the busy road. Only 1 picnic table, old and shaky, rather close to the busy road - better to plan dining elsewhere. Breakfast is coupon for McDonalds.

Review 20：Free full breakfast does not mean what it sounds - we were handed coupons to McDonald's - very tacky! If motel does not have an attached restaurant, they should not be advertising free full breakfast either on the website or on their billboard. Even though we stayed here for 5 nights, often the floors in our room had not been cleaned. No consistency of provision of towels - dwindled to from two sets to one by the end of our stay where I thought we would have to ask for another set. Staff removed our bag of empties which we were saving for ourselves - very tacky!

Review 22：Vista del Mar hotel is conveniently located right next to the water with a beautiful walkway. It is just a few km south of downtown. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This motel is also pet friendly.

Review 23：We were pleasantly surprised. The place was clean, the bed was comfy and the people made our stay really nice. The reason for our visit was that my dad ended up in the hospital in campbell river and I had minutes to book a place to stay before heading to the ferry. There was a fridge, microwave, and 2 burner stove in our room as well as pots pans and dishes. The people were really nice and were even genially concerned about my dad and asked how he was as I would pass them on the property. If I ever have to visit campbell river again I would defiantly stay there again.

Review 26：There was nothing we didn't like including the hot water as it was solved as promised.

Review 27：When we booked in she asked if we had been called as their hot water heater had broken. When we came home we found out we had been called. She had already booked us into their sister hotel. We asked when the hot water would be fixed and she said early tomorrow morning and it was done right on time. We opted to stay there as the location, view and motel were perfect. It is a older motel but has been well cared for and was lovely and clean. Has a great little kitchen, WIFI connection were strong, the views are lovely including all their flowering baskets. Included is breakfast a full one in conjunction with a local restaurant plus the beach is right there and pathways to go for a nice long walk. We would definitely stay again, the hot water was no issue for us and was corrected as promised early the next day.

Review 28：Room was not as booked. Dated, badly deteriorated condition of room/bathroom fixtures and decor. Included (advertised outside motel as full breakfast) breakfast was a McDonalds voucher for a free McMuffin Sandwich at some local McDonalds !! Room rate was excessive for the conditions.

I have travelled a lot and I am more interested in the cleanliness, comfort and location as opposed to the bells and whistles......who needs that when you have the ocean right across the road and owners who really do care about their customers.

Review 74：I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the room and motel......the owners go out of their way to ensure that your stay is comfortable and relaxing. I love the fact that you get a coupon for a free breakfast at Ricki's in Campbell River and for those of you who just want a light breakfast without going into town to use the coupon, you can always walk across the 19A Highway and grab a coffee and muffin there.......beautiful view of sunrises and sunsets.

Review 81：There was an "old" smell when you enter the room. Maybe it's from previous years of smokers, or maybe it was just the older carpets/furniture, etc. Everything was clean, but there was a smell about it. Not awful; just there.

It took usabout 1.5 hours on the 1st day, we skipped breakfast on the 2nd day tomake the most of our time in Campbell River.
