Reviews for Hotel Station Zug
Review 1:They stop the heating system 18 hours a day. Result= Frozen The heating system was stoped centrally , with no chances you can start in your room , if you put it in number 5 does not matter it is stoped. This is because financial crisis? It does not matter 110 per day is not for being frozen right?
Review 2:- The hotel is very basic. The rooms are extremey small but OK other than that. - Smell: All the rooms and corridors have air freshners that make the atmosphere very unpleasant. I had to locate the air freshner in my room, take it out of the window and leave the room with the window open for several hours in order to be able to sleep in there. - Wifi: Very unstable and slow. Cannot be used for any operation. Verified by all the colleagues that stayed there.
Review 3:- Location: very close to the train station and the city center
Review 4:Breakfast wasn't particularly huge. Not a great selection to start the day.
Review 5:Good location. Near the rail station. Not much to look at from outside but good interiors, quality fittings.
Review 6:Room very small, entrance didn't look very welcoming
Review 7:The friendly staff was wonderful, breakfast was ok. When you want a location close to the station, it's ok.
Review 8:Internet did not work despite advertisement. After taking 3 trips to the front desk, I found out at checkout they had forgotten to plug in the router. Breakfast was horrible.
Review 9:Clean
Review 10:no bad experience. room was very small, but all that is necessary for a short business stay: bed, bathroom, TV.
Review 11:convenient location, good price and value for money
Review 12:I had to wait 30 minutes in front of the gates to get the access code for my room. I called to inform the hotel of my late arrival a day before and the code was promised to be sent before noon. Yet I was standing in front of the hotel at 10pm with no access to my room. Very scary thought to not be able to stay anywhere for the night... I had two phones and a company laptop and my internet access code was only valid for two devices which made difficult to keep in touch with my family as I used up twe two codes for business access.
Review 13:The chocolate and the WiFi access codes were neatly prepared and waiting for me on my pillow.
Review 14:Rooms are really small, but ok if you do not stay too much time in the hotel, The church nearby is very noisy from 6am till 10pm
Review 15:Internet is ok, breakfast nice. Very close to the station
Review 16:it named Station hotel but not, few minutes walk from Zug station. If it is raining, you need umbrella to get there.
Review 17:Quiet and comfort. Small but enough to stay.
Review 18:the room is too small no AC and it's not possible to open the window. Too noisy in the morning because of the church bells every half an hour
Review 19:location
Review 20:The church bells are ringing every 15 minutes and are particularly loud.... . Ear-plugs are recommended, but do not miss your alarm clock...
Review 21:The room was modern and freshly renovated. It was equipped with an electric kettle with a nice selection of teas and instant coffee.
Review 22:The window areas and the floor under the long curtains are not clean.
Review 23:Staff at the hotel is fantastic. Very helpful and kind. It is always a pleasure to go there.
Review 24:Can't be called a Hotel by facilities. No air conditioning. Very noisy when windows is open.
Review 25:This place is ok to stay over night without any expectation.
Review 26:The wi-fi worked once after a very long effort to get it to connect. Once connected it still didn't work. t.v. never worked, no news satellite was always out telephone never worked-the only way to contact the front desk was to go down 5 floors to talked to someone Shower broke and fell down that did get fixed. the really was no proper hanging for clothing there was a screw that was to have a rubber stopper on it to keep the door from going against the wall. the rubber was missing. I stepped on it, it hurt and it was never fixed. It was too sad they were working on another hotel in Lucern when this one needed so much attention. Quite warm and no ac so would suggest portable fans
Review 27:near the trains station bus stops very conveinent
Review 28:The value for the price was terrible. I stayed in much better business accomodations in other Swiss cities. I stayed in the Economy double, and can only imagine what the Economy Standard would have looked like. I'm not a fan of sinks in bed rooms. The bath room was tiny. The room hot, but a fan was provided. As a business traveler I found the tiny desk unworkable. Breakfast was fairly good, but not worth 15 CF.
Review 29:The best part of my stay was the location- a convenient walk from the train station; and a brief walk to restaurants and the old town.
Review 30:Terrible silicon chips made mattress, no conditioning of course and poor ventilation. Terrible smell in corridors, someone abuse air-freshing sprays. Some dirt in bathroom and almost broken shower door. Do not want to imagine what economy room looks like.
Review 31:Central location - close to everything. Convenient power outlets location. I was offered free upgrade to better room.
Review 32:A 10 min walk to old town which isn't bad, But although old town a more interesting place to be however im sure room rates a lot higher (but I never compared).
Review 33:Wifi very good. Really Friendly staff. Close to train station. Very flexible with payment matters. A couple decent restaurants nearby also
Review 34:The shower head did not stay up on its own, the wifi did no work in my room no matter how many times the saff said it woule, they suggested I go sit in the breakfast room to use it - no use when I want to listen to internet radio whilst showering. The Breakfast was OK, but they put out so little that if you were 3rd in line, there was noting left. The shower was also dirty and they did not replenish the tea anc doffee in the roon after each day.
Review 35:Confinement of room. More space would have been better. Noise by other guests.
Review 36:Very convenient for eating, shops and travelling. Bus stop and church nearby.
Review 37:For the price, I would expect a better breakfast and comfort inside the room. Hair dryers would be also appreciated. Don't like the codes to access the room (easily to lose the paper) As the reception closes during the day, any emergency or if I lose the door code, would become a big problem.
Review 38:Good location
Review 39:The room and toilet are very small. The hand-washing basin is so small that is very difficult to clean the face after shaving. The breakfast is very basic. WiFi is slow.
Review 40:Good location for business and modest price.
Review 41:Unfriendly staff, poor family room design - claustrophobic, no fans available in 29 degrees! We were not allowed to cancel remainder of our stay as we were not satisfied with the beds.
Review 42:Location of the hotel is close to the station and WiFi is available throughout the hotel
Review 43:Very very little of space, but doesn't matter if one want only fall asleep after enjoyed the concert.
Review 44:Calm and quiet room, equipment, location in town near train station.
Review 45:- very small room - quite expensive, no breakfast included - strict storno rules: wanted to shorten our stay for one night and had to pay the full prize, that hurt - dirty windows
Review 46:- good location - 24h check-in possible - nice Turkish Kebap resto in the same building
Review 47:The rooms are as small as they come. Once you are on your floor, you really start to feel as if you were in some storage facility, with each door crammed next to each other. I had trouble entering my room with a small bag because the door wouldn't open fully. I figure that if I was a bit overweight, I might not have fit in the "bath room" at all - I think they copied the size from economy class airline toilet cabins. Here you really start to feel like an astronaut. To get a sense of what I am talking about, there is not even a soap holder in the shower cabin - simply because there is not enough space!Until now I thought sizes like this were only a reality in Japan or China, where there is a space shortage... But not in switzerland!Besides of that, the room telephone didn't work and the holder for the shower was broken too - no one fixed it even after I told receiption. After the first day, room service wasn't providing me any more soap(which you will use up in one day because of its size) and I had to ask for it in the reception. There is a free bottle of mineral water provided every day which is nice, especially since in Zug most of the shops close down VERY early - however room service didn't bother to provide one the day before my departure. The rooms seem to be very poorly isolated, since I could hear every single step and whisper of people in the corridor. I assume they could hear me like wise. Also, if you come during a warmer season and you sleep with the window open (which you might have guessed already is located right where your head is while in bed) - you won't be needing an alarm clock. Every morning at 6.45am the church tower right in front of the hotel plays bells on full power for 5-10 minutes!! And then again after every half an hour or so...The breakfast for which you have to pay extra... Is just poor. You got some bread, some cheese, cooked eggs, coffee and tea and two types of juice and musli.
Review 48:Clean and somewhat good location if you are on a business trip. Wifi also works reasonably well.
Review 49:Very small room, but I was in meetings all day and business dinners in the evening, so only needed to sleep there.
Review 50:Location, good value for money. Free wifi was important.
Review 51:The only disappointment was the internet difficulty, but i can understand: it was Easter and the reception is only worked temporary..I had not help to manage the disconnection since 9 p.m. till my departure the next day..
Review 52:I think this is a slogan of this hotel. I recommend to everyone who is not looking for a luxus but for a clean accomodation, which is well organised. Nice staff..
Review 53:This place is only significantly cheaper than other hotels if you choose the single room, which is an extremely small room, where only a single bed fits. A slightly larger person will have problems moving around. Very uncomfortable bed and pillow, so you never get a good night sleep, which is bad when you are on business. Tiny and dirty bathroom. Under the sink and in the shower there were lots of stains which could be easily removed with a little bit of will power! There is constant noise coming from the hallways and adjacent rooms also at night. All in all a very cheap stay, but I would not repeat. It's definitely worth spending a bit more and get a reasonable place.
Review 54:It's close to the station. This is the only positive side of this place
Review 55:The room was tiny, tv reception was fuzzy and shower not well ventilated so there was mould forming around ceiling. I know Switzerland is expensive and this is relatively cheap in comparison but I don't think it was value for money.
Review 56:Free wifi
Review 57:Area while being close was in the opposite direction of the town which would have been a hack to get dinner if I was there longer than a night
Review 58:Italian place nearby that look like a pub and the food was good
Review 59:There was a lot of dust around the desk and bed lamps and behind the curtain
Review 60:Good location - close to the train station. The staff is friendly and helpful
Review 61:no reception staff on Saturday morning so I could NOT ask them whether I could stay in my room for a 3rd night, nor was it possible to leave my luggage. Cleaning lady on Saturday seemed to think check out time was at 10 (rather than 11, which is what the documentation states ...)
Review 62:Room was really neat and clean, and quiet, despite being close the rail station. Very comfortable bed, good shower. Receptionist was very welcoming and gave me an unpgrade to a larer room. Large TV screen. This is not for a romantic stay, but for a solo traveller who just needs a bed to sleep and a desk to work on their computer - great!
Review 63:The bath room. Hardly any space and the room is overpriced for what it is. Maybe this is because it is Zug
Review 64:location and service was very well. Although I came in late and the hotel without reception in the evening, everything was prepared to get me into the hotel without any problem.
Review 65:I had a serious problem with my room (more like a broom cupboard). I woke up at 4am scratching! I was covered in bites (not Mosquitos or spider). I will let the readers make up their own minds what insects we are talking about. I got up immediately and did not go back to bed. I complained bitterly and suggested that the hotel burns the mattress and give me a full refund. I received not even an apology and was told there was nothing wrong with the room.
Review 66:Nothing.
Review 67:The hotel exists in a fairly old but converted building so the owners did what they could. For a family of four this simply did not leave enough room for a realistic room plan. This hotel may have been fine if traveling only with 1 or 2 people. The furnishings were very cheap and basic and the advertising hints that the hotel will be closer to the old town lakefront than it is.
Review 68:The room was of fair quality. The room was clean and felt secure. The neighborhood was fine.
Review 69:reception not staffed after 9 PM (but code system allows entry anyway)
Review 70:price/quality ratio for the efficiency room. Location very convenient easy check out rooms are modern and efficient
Review 71:All the rooms (and we could see the others) are absolutely minimal. In other words the bed just fits and the bathroom is about as minimal as you will get. Don't expect comfort. Expect value - Zug is very expensive.
Review 72:It is very conveniently located and the staff are friendly.
Review 73:Room was very hot and difficult to open the window. A fan would be nice. The exit "B" in the station was not marked which caused me to leave from the wrong one. Explain more clearly on your website. Not enough soap, I had to ask Reception for more as it was not replaced for the second night.
Review 74:Location was an easy walk from the Station. Reception Staff was friendly & helpful. Hotel & Room was clean/well-maintained. Nice to have a "Swiss" candy on my pillow. TV had two English stations, could perhaps have more, but was OK.
Review 75:The younger staff were very helpful but an older gentleman was a bit snooty (I did not recognize how he wrote the number 1) and did not explain things such as billing in a transparent way (should I choose franks or dollars when I charge my credit card?). No air conditioning.
Review 76:Cleanliness factor, mini set of toiletries for purchase, near luxury shops and banks to exchange money.
Review 77:I have never seen hotel rooms so small yet (7 sqm), but everything one needs was there.
Review 78:staff very responsive and effective, advance check-in and access code by email, good breakfast
Review 79:The church next to the hotel really disturbed sleep.. The breakfast wasn't worth 15 CHF
Review 80:Staff was very friendly and room was quite nice. The price was the chiepest in Zug and the quality of room ok.
Review 81:The sockets didn't work, so we had no bedside lamps and couldn't charge our phones. Since we arrived on time for a wedding and came back late, there was no chance to ask for help.
Review 82:Clean, Well located, Nice Staff
Review 83:the only way to have the room after 9 is the machine where the Credit card is mandatory
Review 84:the guy who stayed after 9 to help me with the room and the payment ways
Review 85:Watch out if you book the family room. It does not fit 5 adults even though the booking engine allowed for it. The hotel graciously upgraded us to two rooms a triple and double. This worked ok but was looking forward to all being together. Also note there in no AC in this location and it did get a bit warm especially in the 3 person room
Review 86:We spent one night here so that we could visit some family in the area. Did seem a bit out of the old town, but was clean.
Review 87:extremely small, wifi really poor coverage - had to have doors open to get coverage. Not for leisure, better for business and/or one night stay.
Review 88:clean, friendly staff, clever system for accessing rooms
Review 89:Bed was a little soft for my liking, but clean and new
Review 90:Newly renovated, quiet, Nespresso in room and great location
Review 91:Nothing
Review 92:It' s a well located small hotel with clean rooms and easy system
Review 93:Everything - except for the location. Tiny and I mean tiny room. Bathroom - even tinier!
Review 94:Nothing - ok the location is all right.
Review 95:Same room as last time - same Price, however this time no waterboiler for tea, coffee in the room.
Review 96:Bedroom too Small Bathroom really old And dirty No heating.....in The room There was only 15 degree
Review 97:Very Close To The Train station
Review 98:Comfortable Room, Staff very accomodating.
Review 99:The room was extremely small.
Review 100:Very modern, clean and efficient. Wonderful location and staff. Convenient parking and allowed a pet.

Review 105:single economy room are really very small
Review 106:Location breakfast wifi connection
Review 107:Bit of a dump
Review 108:Lady at front desk was very helpful.
Review 109:Old and depressive. Cheap finish.
Review 110:Friendly and helpful staff Able to sleep with the children in one room.
Review 111:Central Location and easy access to transporation.
Review 112:Staff were very friendly & helpful
Review 113:No airco in the room. We left after 1night stay because we did not want to stay any longer in the hotel.
Review 114:Room too warm
Review 115:No air con!
Review 116:Internet connection was extremely slow. Was cutting off every minute
Review 117:Extremely tiny room, and (though this is more a problem with Zug than with this hotel) not at all cheap.
Review 118:Helpful staff.
Review 119:No air conditioning, it was boiling
Review 120:Convenient check-in/check-out
Review 121:Staff a bit reserved
Review 122:Wifi working well and close to city center
Review 123:No air con
Review 124:room extremely small
Review 125:Very pricey
Review 126:The size of the economy single room is too tiny.
Review 127:Bed was too hard
Review 128:Central location Good breakfast I had a nice spacious room with kitchenette New digital TV
Review 129:Expensive
Review 130:Clean, easy
Review 131:Broken shower, TV channels didn't work - just fuzzy pictures, shower head broken, staff didn't seem to care!
Review 132:Lovely breakfast, cleanliness
