Reviews for Coastal Inn Dartmouth
Review 1:Good value that provided everything that was needed. As is often the case in places like this, the breakfast was uninspiring, but generally I would certainly consider staying there again.
Review 2:Staff was friendly, helpful and quick to respond to requests. The beds were super-comfortable, and having the kitchenette was wonderful, even though we didn't really use it much. Also, the guest laundry was clean, easy to use and not so expensive.
Review 3:Breakfast consisted of toast, cereal, and coffee. Simple, but not a "plus" breakfast.
Review 4:Close to bridges, and Dartmouth via bus and Windmill Ave.
Review 5:The Wi-fi did not work. It took staff a couple of hours to get running and only when I went down to the front desk. The breakfast was very sparse and most of the items were stale.
Review 6:Staff were very helpful with directions and where to visit.
Review 7:Huge room and bed, self catering facilities had we wanted them, generous breakfast included, making it excellent value overall. Location - we wanted somewhere not far from airport and ready to go E on route 7 so perfect location for us
Review 8:nothing
Review 9:the location was great. the lady at the front desk was very helpful and gave us good advice for visiting the halifax/ dartmouth area. The breakfast room was quite large with lots of room to move.
Review 10:Bed was a little firm, water pressure in the shower was lacking
Review 11:Excellent bang for my buck, staff was very helpful and accommodated us when we decided to stay an extra night. Older kitchenette, but it did the trick, and having the fridge was an added bonus. Will definitely stay again
Review 12:The continental breakfast and the elevator which was so slow. Also the room service was not good.
Review 13:The room was big and spacious and it had a kichenett which was helpful. Also the AC was working.
Review 14:Even though the room was clean, there was a very unpleasant smell in the room, almost like if somebody was smoking in it before.
Review 15:Staff very friendly and professional, room quite big
Review 16:Sofa bed in suite was useless as a bed. Too many springs missing. TV channels were very limited. Breakfast was very mediocre. Entire hotel very worn out.
Review 17:Staff was very helpful and friendly. Good location if visiting Halifax.
Review 18:Too many carbs for breakfast - yoghurt, hard boiled eggs, and fresh fruit would be a great addition !! I guess with the kitchenette in your room - you don't need to go down for breakfast - buy groceries and make your own - therefore cut the price of the hotel
Review 19:Staff we're very friendly and helpful! Room was quite spacious and the kitchen was well equipped - oven, stove, great sized fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster etc.
Review 20:Housekeeping was a little insistent, even when we had the do not disturb sign up on days when we were staying again that night. But they were just doing their job. The outlets beside the beds only had one working socket.
Review 21:Staff is very friendly. Quiet hotel. Clean, spacious rooms. Location is far enough away from major roadways to forget that you're only 10 minutes from downtown Halifax. Easy to find.
Review 22:We had continuing problems with our door lock - minor maintenance irritation. Also on the wrong side of the toll bridge over to Halifax
Review 23:Having laundry available on premises was definitely a plus
Review 24:I loved the fact it was easy to get to since I am not a confident city driver. I manage but prefer easy access to places I need to go. The room was neat and clean. The kitchenette option was great as I normally eat in so I don't need to spend unnecessarily on eating out. I will consider this same location as it is also pet friendly.
Review 25:no complaint....!!!
Review 26:My room was clean, tidy and very comfortable,I enjoyed the little kitchen where I did not have to go anywhere for a coffee with the microwave I could warm up a sandwich and have warm water for coffee,I will be going to the coastal inn next time I travel to Halifax for either business or pleasure.
Review 27:Was not sure at first but from the time we walked in it was great. The front desk staff was amazing helped us with all our questions. Gave us great advise on taking the ferry to Halifax. The room was clean and the beds very comfy. Lots of room .The hotel was very quiet even though it was full. We will definalty stay again and recommend it.
Review 28:It was a little difficult to find in the dark, only because the signage is a little obscured behind the trees that line the street. But once you find it you should have no problem.
Review 29:Great location, two minutes away from the Angus MacDonald bridge which takes you straight into Chebucto Rd shopping, Sears, through the rotary to Bayers Lk shopping district. Nice free continental breakfast in a cozy dining area, lots of towels, clean rooms, long distance rates were super cheap (for those who have no cell phone). It was quiet, had nice comfy beds. I didn't need a single thing.
Review 30:We did not make use of the excellent kitchenette as we were only there for 2 nights at the end of our holiday. Having a fridge and coffee machine was all that we needed. If we'd been there longer it would have been useful for preparing snack meals instead of having to eat out all the time.
Review 31:At first I was concerned that it wasn't as close to down Halifax as I am used to. But because the bus was so convient that it wasn't a concern. I drive but don't like to drive in Halifax and have always used the bus services.
Review 32:From the moment I arrived I felt at home. The motel is a little out of the way. But easy to find. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I inquired about bus service and clerk looked up the schedule for me and showed me where to get bus and where it would leave me off. It so happens that it is just out front of motel. The room was very clean. It had fridge, stove, microwave coffee maker and dishes. All you would need. I had breakfast every morning. Choice of toast bagel ceral-hot or cold, muffins and fruit cups. All delicious. I felt safe there. It was pretty quiet in the night. All in all I plan to stay there again when I go to Halifax.
Review 33:As we got there we were treated as been there before, very impressed withstaff.as a matter of fact the very next thing by passing the lobby thevery same young Lady had some cards for us ,places to see.the Breakfastwas amazing ,the room was checked/cleaned for the next day,in totalwe were impressed.
Review 34:No restaurant open in building in the evening but not a major issue, lots of restaurants in walking distance.
Review 35:Enjoyed the location, hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Will recommend.
Review 36:The hallways were clean, but there was a musty smell that took away the ambiance. Don't know if the odor was from residual smoke or age of the hotel. Short on cutlery, bathroom sink push/pull plug did not work, no decaf coffee available at breakfast, and room was not made. We were given discount on the room rate for the second night
Review 37:Location, quiet, cleanliness.
Review 38:Wonder Bread and canned fruit at breakfast but there were other options.
Review 39:very reasonable rate, large room with kitchette, pay washing machines and dryers, free breakfast (cereal, bagels, muffins, coffee) , ample parking, helpful staff, location in between bridges to Halifax so very near to Halifax
Review 40:The room needed a good airing with the window open, but after some hours it was fine. The continental breakfast is minimal -- coffee, bagels, toast, muffins, cereal, fruit cubes in heavy syrup -- but we had a little of everything and it kept us going until noon.
Review 41:The location was handy to our work downtown Halifax -- a quick trip over the nearby bridge -- the room was quiet and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Decent value for the money.
