Review 1：Too much bug spray in the room. My throat was sore by the time I left from breathing it and it smelled pretty bad even after airing it out.

Review 5：The location, while near the airport, is on a very busy city street where even dropping off your luggage is hazardous since there is no parking. The hotel layout was a bit strange but I would not give a negative on that... just strange.

Review 6：We had a 6am flight so had to be at the airport at 4am. Front desk clerk actually prepared breakfast for us at 3:30 so we did not have to fly on an empty stomach.

Review 8：Ideal location for early flights! It is just 5 minute away from the airport and the staff will arrange you a taxi anytime! Really nice staff! We had a problem with the car we had rented and they helped us! They also prepared some sandwiches for breakfast as our flight back home was really early.

Review 9：We came in very late and the boy running the front desk was so accommodating but also so easy to talk to and genuine. It was a very welcome greeting after a long night of traveling. We downloaded an offline GPS map and found it easily by driving. Safe parking nearby.

Review 12：No outside window in our room was a deal breaker. (We had one window with a permanently shut curtain that faced a courtyard). Poor / lacking restaurant recommendation.

Review 14：The smell of this place. They had these overwhelming handmade minty-fruity air wet potpourri things in the room. Even after we his it in the fridge, I could hardly escape the smell. Not to mention the garbage cans right outside of our rooms. If you have asthma or migraines, DO NOT stay here :(

Location was in center of town. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a computer for guests to use. 10 minutes drive from Juan Santamaria International Airport.

Review 18：I wouldn't be comfortable walking around the neighborhood at night again. It is a busy city center during the day, but we passed 3 prostitutes in 4 blocks and saw police activity coming from dinner, after it was dark and all the shops were closed.

Review 19：We were here for just one night on out way out of the county. A taxi to the airport in the morning cost just $6. Even though we left before breakfast, the night staff made us coffee and toast. Everything was immaculate and the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating.

Review 22：The room had no windows and was on the small side. I wasn't able to have breakfast because I had to leave for the airport before they started serving. I was offered juice but more scolded by the front desk person because I didn't inform them the night before that I needed to leave so early so they could have had something prepared for me. Nobody asked me what time I needed to leave either.

Review 27：We stayed here on arrival and prior to departure from San Jose International Airport. Location was great, only $5 for a taxi to / from the airport. Also easy to travel into San Jose - direct bus for $1. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice, spacious room (stated in Junior Suite). Good breakfast. All in all, ideal for our needs. Good wifi.

Review 29：The front desk staff in both the evening and early morning were fantastic! They were friendly, personable, and super helpful. The rooms were updated and comfortable. Great bathroom. The staff even got up early to give us a breakfast for our flight at 4 am. Our favorite hotel during our stay--Would definitely recommend and stay again. Review 30：The room had just been cleaned and the cleaning solution was so strong that I had to leave the hotel for a couple of hours.

Review 31：It was a $5 taxi ride to the airport which is pretty cheap in San Jose. The staff was very friendly and fixed me breakfast at 5:30am before my flight. The bed and bathroom were good. They offered a wake-up call.

It's a weird time but the staff made toast and juice for us! My friend liked the towel swan a lot. It was comfortable to stay there:)

On arrival, offered us courtesy calls, to call taxis if we required them, restaurant recommendations and marked up a map for us. Provided an early breakfast for us as we had an early flight.

Review 56：This small hotel is only about a 5-10 minute cab ride ($4-8 USD depending on traffic) from the airport in Alajuela. We stayed there on our first night in Costa Rica and then booked it again for our last night as we found it to be a good deal! The staff member who was there both nights we stayed there spoke perfect English and was very friendly and helpful. On our last night we had to leave at 4 AM to go to the airport, and he called our cab or us and even prepared ham and cheese sandwiches for us to take with us! If you are there in the morning, the included breakfast is good (we had gallo pinto with good juice and coffee). The place is also about a 10 min walk from the bus station to catch direct buses to San Jose, which we did on our first day. It was also a fairly quiet place to stay - at least the back rooms which are not on the street.

Review 57：We stayed in one of the rooms with two twin beds on the first floor. The room had a window looking out onto a sort of indoor lounge area with some games and books. There was a blind but it really didn't keep much of the light out. The first night we stayed there, the light from the lounge area was so bright, I had difficulty sleeping. The second night, however, someone turned off the light, so it was much better.

Review 65：The staff at Hotel Eskalima was very friendly and attentive. I was at the hotel before I left Costa Rica (because it's only 4.000 colones for the taxi fare to the airport) and the night staff offered to make me breakfast at 5am!

Review 66：Very thin walls- not sound proof a bit. The doors don't seem very secure- hollow core and not very strong locksets. Lack of AC or any air flow to first floor rooms makes them hot and stuffy.
