Reviews for Bisonte Libertad
Review 1:Found some old pizza in mini bar. Some rooms have views over the park. Ours didn't.
Review 2:Room and en suite reasonably spacious. Plenty of hot water. Lifts were fairly quick I.e. Didn't have to wait too long. Very convenient location in centre. Reception staff very helpful. Very good breakfast. Great value for money in BA.
Review 3:Very expensive to and from airport, metro station is also far from the hotel
Review 4:The location is close to commercial center and many buses around but no map and lack of sign.
Review 5:There is only 1-2 staffs who can communicate in English fair enough. But besides this, all else are great!
Review 6:Great staff, good service, very nice comfortable, and clean facilities, they helped with taxi reservation and deposit our back for a whole day even though we already checked out
Review 7:Not a 4-star in the real sense. Room was not up to standard. Concierge also couldn't help me arrange a transport when I called from a distant location, trying to go back to the hotel.
Review 8:Location
Review 9:Well the place is very run down. There was not writing desk in the room. Television had 63 scrambled programs (all in Spanish).
Review 10:When I noticed that I was only 15 to 20 minutes walking through the nice streets of Buenos Aires from the harbour area, I really started to enjoy the location.
Review 11:no think
Review 12:internet good ,helpful good, service good, room clean, have big bad , and is very quiet, with this vulue USD38 for one day ,is a good choose in buenos aires.
Review 13:In a four star hotel, I would really expect to get European shower, not a piece of metal protruding from the wall. Is that really so difficult? They also took money from my card, even though the listing said I can pay on arrival. That made the stay 40% more expensive, because the card gets charged official course, while cash obviously can be bought on the street.
Review 14:Great location - only a minute from Hertz, comfortable and silent room, reasonable wifi, great value with the discount on booking.com.
Review 15:Three things were really disappointing about this hotel.First of all, lack of temperature control in the room. Although we were only 3 guests booked a quadruple room to be more comfortable. I was allocated room 407 on the 4th floor, which included a big double room with window facing the street, another room with three beds and a communicating bathroom. The room with three beds did not have a window and the AC system was very outdated. I was told it was a central system and it wasn't set up on AC, despite being up to 26 degrees outside. I couldn't sleep and felt very uncomfortable through the night. In the morning I spoke to the reception staff, who said they would need to ask authorization from the manager to switch to AC. This never happened and I would have understood it was in the interest of all guests, but I was never contacted with an answer, neither provided with a portable fan, which could have remedied the problem. The second aspect is that on our last night we found a big cucaracha on the bed. I called reception to come and do something about it, and they sent a concierge with a plunger (?) to get rid of it. Of course, I had already acted upon it catching the insect with a paper towel and handing it to the concierge. The hotel never even apologized for the inconvenience. I'm not bothered by insects and I know cucarachas are a big problem in Buenos Aires, but at least I would have expected a call from the manager/duty manager. So the third and most important criticism of this hotel is the poor customer service in particular from the reception staff. I was patronized and lectured at check in by a member of the front desk, who despite explaining that Booking had already taken payment asked me to sign another declaration authorizing the hotel to deduct the same amount from my credit card.
Review 16:Location Size of room Bed comfort
Review 17:- The price of the room (as shown by Booking.com) did not include VAT, so a 21% was charged over the agreed price. I don´t think this is a standard practice in booking.com, and we felt scammed to a certain degree.
Review 18:The room was spatious, clean and comfortable, and the hotel is very centrally located.
Review 19:1. Non English speaking staff 2. No free wifi 3. Poor service 4. Cheap repairs and spackling job 5. Shower wets the entire bathroom, my clothing and towels 6. Underhanded tactics, don't sign anything unless they translate in English. 7. Hotels rooms are old, no desk , chairs, or sofa 8, small rooms 9. Shampoo and soap dispensers don't work 10. Dirty sheets and room smells bad
Review 20:nothing
Review 21:Breakfast described as full american yet it had no bacon. Bathroom equipment (shampoo, soap etc...) was not worthy of the 4 star rating.
Review 22:The staff was very friendly catering to all our requests. Very good location and price quality.
Review 23:Nothing really bad...was more like a 3 star rather than a 4 star if anything! But for the money was great!
Review 24:Excellent value for money! Excellent location! Really friendly staff!
Review 25:Breakfast WASN'T INCLUDED, so I tried and for $90,000 ,not worth it! Better go around the corner behind the hotel street, there were bakeries and coffee shop. Wifi not included, so everyday I had to pay US$5.00 just to use wifi in your room! .
Review 26:Location is perfect, walking distance to Recoleta , and centro, I even walked to San Telmo, nice hotel staffs. I had a high floor room faced the park, it was great!
Review 27:The walls are really thin, so if you are a ligthsleeper, maybe bring earplugs. No free wifi, that kinda sucks, but all the cafes around give it, so you're still covered.
Review 28:Location. The room was clean, with a great view of the Plaza Libertad. Both beds were comfortable.
Review 29:That you had to pay for wifi
Review 30:The staff were pleasant, the hotel was clean and welcoming and the location was perfect. Couldnt of asked for more. Breakfast was great and the restaurant staff were very jolly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel
Review 31:Was not able to check in early which is a little bit of a shame when you ve been on a 14 hour flight. But there are lots of nice restaurants around the hotel to go to.
Review 32:Lovely location and nice continental breakfast
Review 33:I liked everything, including the work of the staff. Excellent location, professional working team. One upset, it sometimes breaks down one of the elevators. As for the rest, all on 4+. I'll be back, as was satisfied. Thank you, all the staff!
Review 34:The room was shabby (room 502), the beds were old and used for a long time and bumpy, the bathroom ceiling and room not painted for a long time, the shower handles almost falling out of the wall, the safe was too small for a small PC, no free electrical outlets and more... The following is no big deal, but the room was much smaller than in other parts of the hotel having the same rate and also with a poorer view. The staff at this occasion spoke little English and wasn't too service minded. They also sent me and my taxi to the wrong airport (the domestic) even that I had told them I was going to London Heathrow - making me hardly reach the plane. Wifi costs 50 pesos per day.
Review 35:The previous time we stayed at the same hotel i.e. 3 weeks ago - we got a really nice room, nice view to the park, spacy room, very good standard on beds and everything. The staff we met then was also helpful. Then we had room 1215 I think. It may seem to me as all the rooms with a view to the park is spacy and of good standards, but that the rooms heading in the other direction is smaller and shabby and not renovated for a long time.
Review 36:Elevators didn't work properly A/c was clunky because it was so loaded with dirt Curtains wouldn't open and close properly not block out the sun
Review 37:Location Cleanliness Comfortable bed
Review 38:Hotel does not take USD with the market rate. They asked us to pay in USD with the official exchange rate of 8.5 USD/Peso instead of 13 USD/Peso
Review 39:- not free wi-fi is a bit odd nowadays; - I would use different places around for breakfast as coffee served was quite awful;
Review 40:+ great location next to the central street, or you can walk straight on Paraguay st. to reach great restaurants or to change money with "proper" currency rate on Florida st. (crossing Paraguay). The USD 100 bills are the most demanded and in Dec 2014 the rate was 12.9 comparing to 8.5 official rate, and a bit less rate for 50 or 20 bills; + great room design and colours;
Review 41:It would be nice to have tea making facilities in the room, but that's something I haven't seen in Argentina, so not a big point. I can't comment on the breakfast as I didn't take it. There's so many nice cafe's in the area.
Review 42:Location. Helpful staff. The clean environment and a decent bed. I extended my stay as the price was worth it.
Review 43:The staff in this hotel is so bad. We asked the taxi service in the hotel, he called the unofficial taxi but don't told us it doesn't have a taxi license. And he told me the price of the taxi to go to eze airport is 550peso in fact it's just 350 pesos. And what's worse is when we arrived the airport with the unlicensed taxi the driver asked 580 pesos!!! And even when I payed for the hotel fee, the staff wanted to give me 10 peso less than it deserved. He makes tricks to get more money than usual. I'm really angry with that.
Review 44:Not much really - perhaps that the street looks dark at night and it is better to walk fast straight to the hotel but it is far better from areas I didn't like in BA.
Review 45:I liked the room, even if that I took the cheaper room it was surprisingly nice and clean. Staff were polite and let me check in as soon as the room was available. Location is very central, walking distance to a Subte station but also to Obelisk or even Florida on a longer stroll.
Review 46:Aged elevator not working reliably (still safe but sometimes itwould start)Internet +50 Pesos
Review 47:Perfect, central location (Bus 39 just across the street, Subwaylinesat Tribunales just around the block, Walks: Obelisk 10 Min, Plaza deMayo 15 Min)Nice view over the neighbouring park from the 10th floor. Bathtub. Friendly staff. Very good value for the price (120 USD for two persons for two nights - Special Offer + Genius + without breakfast)
Review 48:Everything was fine!
Review 49:This is one of the best choice you can have in Buenos Aires. Perfect location, friendly staff, good value for money. Strongly recommended.
Review 50:Stuff are not really aware how important their job is... I trusted them to arrange taxi for me airport but I was almost missed my flight. I had to organize my self. Same thing about change money or simple questions which they should find answer in any condition...
Review 51:I liked location, confort and prize
Review 52:The rooms were very small and no free wifi in room. It was a bit pricey unless you get a deal on Booking.com or similar.
Review 53:The location was excellent and the room clean and modern with an excellent shower. Everything worked well and the aircondition was handy. The room was also very quiet with blackout curtains, so you could sleep in.
Review 54:The breakfast was too much industrial for me. No natural juice, industrial bread ans breakfast, nothing really good quality
Review 55:Todo, excepto el desayuno industrial
Review 56:First of all, my request for a later checkout time (2hrs from 10am to 12pm) got totally ignored. I asked for the wifi, i got a wifi code at the reception. Great! Next day, time for checkout, the sir at the reception kindly asked me for 50 ars for the wifi - sorry what? Nobody mentioned this to me before. Not OK! If your room is next to the door, you will hear some very weird noisy electronic beeping most of the time - i think mostly when the elevator is on your floor. This can be very annoying since you can hear it very well.
Review 57:Basic and clean room. Hotel is located in a good and central area. Bathroom facilities are good. Big room, everything you need.
Review 58:Bathroom. Location.
Review 59:We stay one night in one of the "old" bedroom (I guess). The bedroom was ok and the bed good but the bathroom a bite old and simple (compared to the "beautiful" entrance). Staff is nice and helpful.
Review 60:No one helped me with my heavy bags when I arrived late in the night. There is no ramp near the main entrance. There is no hair dryer in the bathroom, you have to ask for one early in the morning and it might not be available. Breakfast could be a lot better.
Review 61:Strategic location; Nice and clean bathroom; No carpets in the bedroom; Wide windows, nice view.
Review 62:This hotel charges extra for everything, so the reasonable rental price becomes not so reasonable in the end. Wifi and breakfast are extra. Breakfast was very poor for a 4star hotel.
Review 63:Clean and comfortable.
Review 64:Old and small bathrooms. Beds a tad too soft. Can be dim and deserted at night so for the single female traveller, some caution is advised.
Review 65:The location opposite the park and proximity to the 2 theatres. Easy access to provision shops. Helpful staff inspite of not everyone being fluent in English. Sheltered lobby bay for cars and taxis to drive up to the front door.
Review 66:Staff was nice when you could get to them, but seemed to be very understaffed; my wife and I arranged airport transport and both had problems with car being on-time; elevators also seemed overtaxed at heavy periods
Review 67:Good center location; staff was friendly and helpful; nice view over park; facilities were in good shape; buffet breakfast was decent and inexpensive, but they had a hard time keeping up
Review 68:it is the 2nd time i was there, booked without breackfast and without wifi and eve so, it was expensive and with the exception of the bag-bos sand Victoria and Colin from the front desk, the staff atention and the general situation was not good enough; if they want to be a 4 stars, they have to function at that level in ALL THE SENSES, not only with the non booking guests. Bad experience, I will not return.
Review 69:The rooms were small and old. The curtains were old and didn't fully close. The key door card kept un programming so we had to go to the lobby each time. Before we even arrived to the hotel they had already charged my credit card, now they are retuning the money since I paid directly with cash (hopefully soon). The electrical outlets in Argentina are different from any part of the world and the hotel didn't even provide an adapter and didn't tell us where to get one either, thankfully we asked outside at a store and told us where to get it. They charge for wifi for every 3 users and breakfast. The hotel didn't provide a printer so we could print our boarding passes for our return flight after checkin, the told to email them to them and they would print them for us which they didn't, good thing at the airport we had no problem.
Review 70:The only thing we liked was one of the receptionistsame, Walter excellent attention! !!! The location was good, 2 blocks from teatro Colon, 2 blocks from Stanta Fe and 2 blocks from the main Avenue. Had lots of little stores around to buy water and a supermarket around the block.
Review 71:The air-conditioning was noisy, but the window opened to allow fresh, cool air into our room.
Review 72:The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety that included fresh fruit and eggs. The location was ideal for sightseeing.
Review 73:According to booking.com the rooms have bathtubs, but that is not true. The hotel removed all of them long time ago. Also the only free internet are from PCs at the reception.
Review 74:Good size room. Nice bathroom, clean and new.
Review 75:There is no free wifi at any place and the only two computers with internet seldom work.
Review 76:The location was perfect, in one of the safest places of Buenos Aires and is near some of the best popular atracctions including theaters, buses, metros and the obelisco. Rooms are nice and bathrooms are clean. Its totally value for money. I´ll repeat in my next trip to BA. The breakfast was good and cheap: like 5 dollars.
Review 77:No complaints.
Review 78:Location is unbeatable. Amazing value for what they were charging.
Review 79:Very helpful staff, good clean room and great location.
Review 80:The service was indifferent.
Review 81:Great location! Easy to find, and close to the subway and bus stops. The room was totally fine.
Review 82:Good location, Very helpful and friendly staff, great value for the cost. Would definitely recommend
Review 83:The furniture is very poor and the bathroom is in a very bad condition
Review 84:Good location Friendly personnel & very helpful
Review 85:Nothing In particular
Review 86:Hotel would need some renovation, but it still got everything you need.
Review 87:Central location, very helpful staff.
Review 88:qUE bOOKIN NO abvierta que el deyasuno cuesta 90 pesos x persona y el cafe es de filtro mal.
Review 89:lA HUBIACCION-
Review 90:Los trabajadores del hotel. Son mi agresivos
Review 91:the cleaning and the staff.
Review 92:Friendly staff and location
Review 93:Internet connection is slow and you have to put your password again if you move, for example, from your room to the restaurant
Review 94:Staff, location
Review 95:Everything
Review 96:Nothing
Review 97:Only that they could use better bedding. The sheets and cover weren't big enough for the bed. Just a detail.
Review 98:Great location. Highly recommendable.
Review 99:Lack of air conditioning control v noisy air conditioner
Review 100:Position, cleanliness and conditionerprice
Review 101:Check out time 10 am is a little early.
Review 102:Great location and a great hotel. Surely worth your money.
Review 103:Elevator waiting time.
Review 104:Staff, location, attention, cleanliness, breakfast.
Review 105:Breakfast was delicious
Review 106:Breakfast, wifi nit included
Review 107:Access to santa fe avenue and teatro colon
Review 108:interior of the entrance hall is very nice, good location in the city centre close to the park
Review 109:Sorry no feedback
Review 110:Very safe and close to important locations. We walked at night and nobody bothered us.
Review 111:It has a good location, near popular attractions. Fairly good for the price. The breakfast is good and cheap.
Review 112:The hotel is in a very convenient area of Buenos Aires and the rooms are comfortable, but the staff was not nice to us at all from the very first moment we set foot in the lobby. The reason? We were using a last minute discount promotion available from Booking. Because of that we were treated as second class guests through all our 4 nights stay. First of all (and this is not acceptable according to Booking terms and conditions, so it's being investigated), we were charged more than what was published on the website when we made the reservation. On arrival we were told by a very arrogant front desk lady that the price was without VAT, so we had to pay 20 per cent more. Then, we were informed (still with a bad attitude) that we were not entitled to either breakfast or Wi Fi - we had to pay extra for that. The staff insists on doing for you services that you don't need (example: spinning a revolving door for you, which is not even practical), just to get your tip. If you don't tip them or give them insufficient money, you are greeted with a frown for the rest of your stay and not as much as a Good Morning. All the staff we encountered didn't smile at us and were borderline rude every time we needed something. When we asked help to call a taxi driver we knew to go back to the airport, we were arrogantly told that our choice of driver wouldn't do and that the budget we had been given was too much. They volunteered (well, kind of forced it, to be more accurate) to get us a driver they usually work with. Guess what? It was more expensive than the driver we wanted, something we only discovered halfway to the airport, when it was too late.We have been in some really great hostels and hotels all over the world - some of them with more stars and way fancier than Bisonte. We were never treated differently just because we have backpacks and wear snickers instead of Manolo Blahnik shoes.
Review 113:Good location and very acceptable rooms, but NOT recommended: beware of promotions! Read the tiny letter very very careful.
Review 114:We arrived very late , the night staff was a nightmare!! very very impolite , did not even let us see the rooms before he made me pay the full amount of the reservation (4 days X 2 rooms) by credit card !! & ONLY then he sent us up with one of the bell boys witnessing every thing. since I was travelling with my Father 75, Mother 70, my wife and my girl 10 yrs old and despite that I explained to him , we came a long way after 18 hrs of flight , I gave him all the passports and kindly asked him to let my family go to the rooms and I will stay at the reception and fill the registration forms but he refused and asked me to fill all the forms (one for each person !!, where normally it is one for each room ) he even made me wake up my 10 year daughter to make a 10yrs old to sign the registration form !!!! I think he has great problems with his job and not suitable specially for what he is doing at the night shift. Luckily we did not have to see him during the next days. If I ever have to go to that city and this will be the only Hotel available in town, I will surely cancel my trip (ONLY BECAUSE OF THE VERY RUDE MR,DIEGO)
Review 115:Very good location
Review 116:Reservation phone only available on commercial hours. Hotel is an old building with regular maintenance only. Bathroom walls look dirty. Shower leaks over bathroom floor because the glass is too small. Old and worn towels.
Review 117:Location. Double glass windows keep room quiet. Beautiful view of the square in front of hotel. Fair continental breakfast.
Review 118:The computers need to be a bit better...They not always worked up to normal expectation
Review 119:The staff readiness to help with any enquiry. The layout of the facilities and the location, next to many amenities.
Review 120:Extending reservations was too complicated as I extended two times and each time took too long and included different nuisances.
Review 121:Staff = great. i had been mugged near Colon Opera House on the Saturday after I arrived. They were very caring. I stayed 14 days. Victoria and the other desk people were lovely. the doormen extremely helpful
Review 122:old elevators (long waiting time), some problems with AC, you will need argentinian adapters for electricity plugs, breakfast could be improved (not a big choice and every day the same)
Review 123:great location, close to main avenue and interesting places, good price
Review 124:no negatives what so ever. It is an old building and is well maintained.
Review 125:All of the Staff were very helpful, friendly, and professional. The location is close to the major area of the city. Great value compared to other hotels.
Review 126:The people at the reception behave like salesmen. It felt like they were not working in the tourism industry but selling cars. They charge you even for coffee at breakfast if you do not have breakfast included and the servers in the breakfast area are quite rude and unprofessional and not customer service oriented. Some more training in this regards should be addressed with the staff.
Review 127:The location was great although at night time it is a bit scary because it is next to a park. The hotel is a very good deal for the price you are paying. I had an overall great stay.
Review 128:They charged my CC even before I arrived, although I wished to pay the Hotel in local currency, as stated in my booking.com documentation. They sayed this was done by booking.com.
Review 129:Location , excellent Staff at front desk.
Review 130:For a 4 star hotel the bathroom wasnt completely up to scratch- on the exterior looks lovely! But the toilet was loose, leaked. Didnt really cause a problem though! The walls were thin, so not good when there are noisy families next door!
Review 131:The staff were helpful, Some spoke good English and helped to inform us about the city where to go etc. Breakfast was ok, nothing overly special! But good enough to start the day! We got a good rate through booking.com. Very pleasant stay, so much so we booked another 4 nights with the hotel. Happy customers! :)
Review 132:No kettle or facility in the room to make a cup of coffee or tea.
Review 133:The service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very helful assisting us with a language barrier.Breakfast was very good, good variety and fresh.
Review 134:Can't believe that ice cubes in the rooms are against some local law when there is a refrigerator. Kleenex box? Fitted sheets! - the ones used were too small and were bunched up by the morning.
Review 135:Perfect location - just 2 blocks from Teatro Colon and Ave 9 Julio! Nice park just across the street.
