Reviews for Waterfront Hotel

Review 1:The pillows were square and very uncomfortable. I would recommend brining your own pillows.

Review 2:This hotel is within walking distance to the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, is easy to get to and has great views.

Review 3:The hostess who checked us in noted from my booking that it was out anniversary and commented on it to us. We were given a very nice room with a lovely view as requested.

Review 4:Too many doors slamming every early morning and afternoon.

Review 5:Central location along the lake and its promenade Good Facilities: pool gym laundry restaurant onsite

Review 6:Our first room 217 was awful I couldn't stay there it was all around terrible. We were able to get another room thank goodness

Review 7:Athens staff are very nice and the breakfast is great

Review 8:The breakfast was very poor. Eggs were cold or scrambled tasted like dry mixed eggs. Very little choice. Even the pastries tasted stale. We ended up eating out for breakfast each morning.

Review 9:Location awesome especially coming up to Christmas. Bed was very comfortable and our room looked over the water. Staff were efficient and helpful. Even though the rooms could use a little updating they were clean , comfortable and we were happy with the accommodation.

Review 10:TV did not work properly. Room was dated, lots of scuff marks on the walls, moderately clean. Hotel general needs a bit of updating. A bit expensive with these conditions. Disappointed, my room did not have a view of the lake.

Review 11:Perfect location. Right on the lake. Food restaurant nice, could walk to all the downtown Burlington shops, restaurants.

Review 12:Customer service is non-existent. Front desk staff was not friendly at all. Not looking at the people when talking, no Thank you or apology. No information unless you ask. When offered a lower level room by the laundry facility they need to check first if that is ok with the customer. The used bathroom supplies were not renewed the 2nd day, just the towels. The windows were very dirty. Very noisy due to thin walls and doors. Being in the corner room, even the traffic noise was very loud. Out of 4 lamps in the room only 2 were working. When checked out, nobody asked if all was Ok or invited us to comeback. It’s a shame for such location.

Review 13:Location and outside patio at the breakfast.

Review 14:Some staff on reception really friendly others not interested just doing job. Breakfast staff unfriendly. Needs a desperate update of property old and tired curtains would nor close in room needs decoration and modernising. Location is perfect lovely views and great area lots of nice restaurants with great staff.

Review 15:Location lovely area

Review 16:Two things: 1. Complementary breakfast buffet (up to 9.30 am) at 8.30 already very reduced, our request to get some fruit salad as promoted in the hotel file was rejected: Come tomorrow earlier... This is a real unfriendly No Go. 2. Very noisy air condition in the room.

Review 17:Hotel direct on the lake front, with nice view from the room.

Review 18:Rooms are quite dated, we paid for a water view but ended up on the basement level with a view of the path that leads to the waterfront. A little dark and dingy for my taste.

Review 19:Location is great, with proximity to the waterfront, great restaurants and shops.

Review 20:We had previous arrangments for breakfast but from what I heard from others the breakfast wasn't grand.

Review 21:The staff was quite friendly. I was in town for a wedding and didn't spend much time at the hotel itself.

Review 22:The wifi signal was patchy. I booked this hotel having searched for a hotel close to family, and it turned out to be inaccurate. Having said that, I would still stay there again.

Review 23:The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bar and restaurant was fab.

Review 24:I was disappointed with the condition of the room. There was a strong musty smell and the ceiling needed repair. My sister stayed in a non smoking room that smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke.

Review 25:The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. When the parking lot was full because of an event being held there one of the staff was willing to give her spot up for my vehicle. I enjoyed chatting with the staff.

Review 26:The staff wasn't the greatest they don't give you you cash deposit back they put it on your debit card the bed was hard and pillows sucked hot tub was out of order

Review 27:The pool was alright

Review 28:That the bar shut at 11. It a hotel it should b open till later for the people that are staying there.

Review 29:The location was perfect. Plenty of places to eat

Review 30:room not the one shown in the picture and not replaced by one like it. noisey generator under the window at 7am with loudspeakers with music for some running event ,room hot and damp even with the air on retaurant patio full of wasps so it was impossible to enjoy your meal or relax worst breakfast i've ever had

Review 31:staff friendly and helpful

Review 32:I can't say that there was anything I didn't like except for price but worth it. I also rather have earlier check in times.

Review 33:The location and scenic view. It is so peaceful and it was easy to forget stress back home.

Review 34:Plastic knives and forks for breakfast buffet

Review 35:Breakfast, pool and hot tub, staff and of course the location we're all the best. Wonderful time for me and my family

Review 36:The property hallways and the bathrooms are definitely dated and need to be upgraded. It didn't feel clean and there was food on the carpet in the hallway.

Review 37:Comfort of pillows and the breakfast cheese omelettes were good.

Review 38:the hallways are filthy/stained. new carpets would be money well spent.

Review 39:great location,on the water, nice place for a leisure stroll on the walkway, friendly staff, free parking.

Review 40:Hotel is really in need of updating (which they have planned). Carpets in hallways are very dirty and one elevator was out of service.

Review 41:The hotel location was perfect, on the waterfront and convenient to downtown Burlington

Review 42:Alot of slamming doors loud people were staying there and was making to much noise so it was hard to sleep.

Review 43:I loved the location by the lake is just gorgeous :)

Review 44:Room 309 view was terrible. Grout in tub needed work. No area set aside for guests to view Canada Day fireworks.

Review 45:Location on the water and staff was polite.

Review 46:Had to have breakfast on cheap paper plates with plastic cutlery. Not what I would expect in a hotel. Not nice. Bedroom we had on 2nd floor was so dark. Air conditioning was really noisy at night. Windows dont open so needed it on otherwise room was really stuffy. WIfi was slow to get going Carpets stained in corridor. I think they are doing an upgrade so hopefully will be much better.

Review 47:Location was great, rooms comfortable. . Had an evening meal one night, and food and service was really good.

Review 48:I booked a room for my daughter and her new husband for their wedding night. I am very pleasantly surprised as they had left a nice bottle of wine and glasses for them and lay flower petals on the floor and in a heart shape on the bed. My daughter was so surprised and happy at the gesture. They even enjoyed a great hot breakfast in the morning which was included. Thank you Waterfront hotel. I will definitely book a room with you again.

Review 49:Lighting in the rooms was poor and the bathrooms a bit outdated.

Review 50:Location. Downtown, close to shops with lots of dining options. Friendly staff and very helpful. Spacious rooms reasonably clean and beds very comfortable.

Review 51:Suggest person at front desk takes a class in customer service a SMILE is always nice I have stayed at your hotel at least 20 times and never had this happened before...just a suggestion

Review 52:Our room was right next to the exit door so all day/night all you could hear was the door banging. Horrible location for a room if you're trying to get some sleep. The wifi was horrible and when we asked to find out what was going on they said we'd have to call tech support ourselves. There is also no fridge in the room -- we had to fill up the recycling bin with ice to make our own fridge. Also, don't plan on heating anything up -- there's no microwave either.

Review 53:Harry, one of the evening front desk staff was awesome! He was definitely the most helpful and friendly staff member we came across. The view from the hotels restaurant was amazing.

Review 54:Rooms need a facelift. Bathrooms and some ceiling areas are heavily patched. Very overdue for remodelling. Doors slam and verberate throughout the building. Lots of noise from adjacent rooms.

Review 55:Location to the downtown and boardwalk. Breakfast was good

Review 56:I didnt like that when we booked we specofically said we need the room available for no later then 10am. Due to the type of purpose we were there for. it became more of a hassle with a two and half year old, since our.original bookingneeds were not met and we werent informed until the day before.

Review 57:I liked that the location was right around the corner from our venue.

Review 58:We regretted that we couldn't stay longer. Only one suggestion for breakfast would be to have scrambled eggs instead of cheese omelets for dieters and portion control.

Review 59:We loved the hotel. The pool and well equipped exercise room overlooked the lake. Great whirlpool, free pool towels, bathroom/shower/lockers for pool, large pool with steps down into water with hand-rail--very relaxing. Hotel staff was very kind, one noticed that some one had sprayed barb-b-que sauce over our windshield late Saturday night, and immediately deducted 20% off from our room. The location is on a recently renovated waterfront, with a small sandy beach, pier and long walk along the lake. Canadian geese and swans made for great bird watching, and we dipped our feet into the cool lake water. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a sofa reading area, large desk, Keurig coffee maker with tea, coffee and decaf choices. The king size bed gave a good nights sleep. We were on the second floor in 208 and it was a quiet night's rest. We had a side view of the lake and the window could be partially opened with a screen for air circulation. The a/c was easy to adjust for our comfort level. Breakfast was in the hotel restaurant with lots of seating choices and nice views of the lake; one could also eat on the patio, but it was too sunny and a bit breezy so we ate indoors. 4 choices of cereal, cheese omelets, toast, bagels, sweet rolls, yoghurt, bacon and potatoes, plus a great fresh melon-orange-grape-pineapple fruit salad with the usual coffee, tea, juice, water and decaf beverages made for an ample breakfast. All of the staff we met were kind and knowledgeable. There were free green apples on the desk and free daily papers-the Toronto Star and USA today.

Review 60:Could use a little room maintenance, like painting, but over all very please with stay.

Review 61:Ideal place and what a beautiful view right outside the hotel. Very cute little town to take a walk

Review 62:Staff smoking outside doors left strong smoke smell travelling into hall and rooms on lower level. Rooms on lower level only satisfactory for cleanlines. Error re: booking king bed..called to confirm yet when arrived room only queen bed.

Review 63:Location convenient.

Review 64:Only one computer for guests and that did not work.( And when did get working no printer to print off information). Not private when using the computer either, in main busy lobby.

Review 65:Walking distance of Downtown area. Enjoyed walking next to the lake.

Review 66:Breakfast served on polystyrene plates and plastic cutlery was a really poor experience. No room safe available - the key was "lost" The property needs a giant makeover to bring it up-to-date.

Review 67:location, views and very convenient parking

Review 68:If you're going to have a room right by the elevator, please don't have it beep when it opens at 3 in the morning. There were parties all around us but I have stayed here many times and this was the first time I did not get a good night sleep.

Review 69:The comfort, the fact that there is an excellent restaurant downstairs and a lovely walk right outside the hotel.

Review 70:There were no movies available in the room and the whirlpool jets were broken. For the price of this room one would expect things to be in working order. I wish we had asked for a different room. We were neat he elevator and it was loud.

Review 71:I liked being able walk to local shops, pubs, the Art Gallery and the lake front walk.

Review 72:No Advil or Tylenol available at front desk. Only difference between superior king and standard is the direction the window faces. Very very small room, uncomfortable bed, poor wifi and terrible cable. Joining restaurant was over priced. Also the shower drain was clogged, gross.

Review 73:Central location, moved me to another room when couple next door had loud...relations. Nice staff and clean bathroom.

Review 74:When other occupants closed the door, it banged & made a loud noise so you could hear whenever someone was entering or exiting. Perhaps the staff could make signage suggesting occupants could kindly gently close the door as not to disturb others & place the sign on the back of each door.

Review 75:The staff paid attention to detail and were very kind. The small gym had a huge HD widescreen TV I could watch my fav shows while working out on the elliptical.

Review 76:The breakfast was really quite disappointing. The coffee was not good, and why were you using plastic knives and forks and disposable plates. I felt like I was in a cheap Motel 6.

Review 77:The location was excellent. The proximity to downtown and the waterfront was a real bonus.

Review 78:Breakfast buffet was lacking. Staff member tried to break into our room at 12:30am. Thankfully had second lock on. When I got to the door she was sticking her fingers inside trying to disengage the lock. After yelling 3 times "there's someone in here" she finally left.

Review 79:Beautiful interior. Well kept. Clean.

Review 80:Lifts not always working Some of the service poor Small room for 5 people so rollaway bed had to be put in hall to door which is not good in an emergency and though it was requested the rollaway bed was not I the room.

Review 81:Location View Lobby Comfy bed

Review 82:I didn't like how we spent 160 on our room, and got a view of the dirt in the ground. Would have preferred a lake view for that price.

Review 83:I really loved the king size bed, and the beautiful brick wall in the room.

Review 84:Hotel and restaurant a bit disjointed as separate operations. Front desk staff seemed a random mix of some uniformed and some casual, friendly and unfriendly. A few more smiles would go a long way.

Review 85:We enjoyed beautiful waterfront location with shops, restaurants and other attractions within easy walking distance.

Review 86:Loved that the hotel allowed us to walk to all the downtown stores which is directly across the street. Beautiful pier on the beach with a nice walking path that allows you to walk along Lake Ontario. Room was very clean and so was the hotel. Great pool and hot tub... Restaraunt also had good food.

Review 87:rooms and bathrooms more like motel 6 style - very dated, uninviting, and not too comfortable. but only stayed one night so we dealt with it. would have switched locations if staying another nite.

Review 88:location perfect right on the lake. great shops and restaurants across the street.

Review 89:Filthy/nasty grout in shower, cracked floor tiles, carpet buckling, blackout curtains torn & ratty, ceiling patched and just left unfinished.

Review 90:Location

Review 91:Dark hallways Poor quality clock radio- couldn't use Lumpy comforter Filthy balcony floor

Review 92:Location, location, location Breakfast on balcony Restaurant was fi e

Review 93:The fact that we could only stay one night at this great hotel. We will be back!

Review 94:Amazing location, the view of the lake and walking trail was great. Beautiful patio next door with excellent food and cold beer on tap. All of the staff was considerate and polite.

Review 95:They didn't feel our reserved rate matched the room type and view, so they put us in a room with a small window looking at their roof. Room was dark, sheets were old and scratchy, towels were tiny and threadbare. Half used lotion was left with shampoo on the amenity tray.

Review 96:Burlington is a cute town, and this hotel is the only one on the water, and they know it. Wifi was excellent.

Review 97:Restaurant bathroom was very unclean in the morning.

Review 98:breakfast and parking included. Easy to find. Nice view. Friendly staff.

Review 99:Staff was friendly and accommodating. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. I'd definitely book there again!

Review 100:Couldn't find a parking spot when I returned for the evening. You had Christmas parties at the hotel and all parking was taken.

Review 108:Lumpy pillows

Review 111:Great views and great for the local restaurants

Review 121:Great downtown location.

Review 122:everything is nice

Review 123:the atmosphere and location

Review 124:is becoming rather dated

Review 125:Hot tub was closed

Review 126:Near the lake

Review 127:The room air conditioner was a little noisy but this is really a minor complaint. Everything else was just right.

Review 128:Location and ease of access

Review 129:Dated - needs updating; very slow elevator. Booking.com booking was not received, though the hotel had a different room for us.

Review 130:Paper dishes for the breakfast. Dirty rooms. Very old bathroom. Very loud hotel.

Review 131:wifi is very weak in the lobby and not stable in the rooms

Review 132:the location and the lake

Review 133:Not Clean at all. Carpets needs to be replaced. Mattress very uncomfortable. Consider free WIFI never worked.
