Review 1：I did not like the layout of the hotel. Had to go outside in the storm to go between our room, the front desk, the breakfast room and the pool. Brrr.

Review 2：The front desk clerk (Anita?) Was super friendly. Breakfast was nice. Rooms were very nice. Could see the ocean from our balcony. Very quiet and the bed was very comfortable.

Review 23：We had dinner at the restaurant and it was not good. Steak was dry, overcooked and tough. The eggs and hash browns at breakfast were cold and dry. Coffee and rolls were ok.

Review 25：There was no area for smoking. Guests were told to go to the parking lot. There was no ashtray therefore cigarette buts were thrown on the ground. No smoking policy on rooms is good however I think there needs to be a designated area for guests.

Review 28：Older,well run hotel but being radically renovated. Exterior painting in progress while we were there. Good curb appeal and dozens of flower boxes on balconies. Linens appeared new.

Review 29：They recently upgraded lots - new balcony furniture, new A/C, wifi good, beds awesome, bfast just amazing - scrambled eggs, pancakes, muffins, donuts, crepes, sausages, bacon, fruit, cereals, joghurt, jam, peanut butter, maple sirup, honey, coffee, juices - can't want more.

Review 30：Keys not working. Went 3 times to the reception to fix the problem. Finally an employee came to clean the magnetic key system of the door. This should be taken care regularly by the cleaning staff!

Review 38：No remote control of the AC, check with the front desk and staff said "sorry, we don't have extra remote control". So I guess they just don't care even though they knew we will be living in an oven. However, they did mention there is a table fan that we can use. What the heck of using fan if there is an AC machine. Also, the wifi is nearly dead in my opinion. Can't even open an website! Horriable wifi! You should not be considering living here if you are on a business trip.

No where on the booking site did it say pool was under construction. I was very disappointed when I arrived to find out we could not swim. I must say when I booked in I said I was not pleased with this matter but the receptionist did nothing. But in the am when I checked out there I again mentioned I was disappointed with no pool and this receptionist was very friendly and said that she would take the $20 pet fee off my bill. Great PR and I would definitely stay here again. If she had ignored my complaint like the first receptionist I may not have wanted to stay here again. Thank you so much.

Review 49：Very slippery surface. As you walk to your room as it was raining it was very dangerous as I almost slipped numerous times. Didn't tell me when I called to confirm that I had to pay a $250 deposit for cash or debit use. As I don't own a credit card.

Review 57：I asked for a possible early check in. We went in to ask and it wasn't ready, we went back an hour or so later and it still wasn't ready. In fact I don't think the staff on the desk even bothered to ask the cleaning staff. It wasn't ready until exactly when their check in time is which is 1500. I was disappointed they didn't seem to even try to be accommodating on the one request we made.

Angie, breakfast room, was lovely & made sure we had everything we wanted. Selena, day time front desk, got us a wonderful room when we decided to stay three more days. The swimming pool, exercise room, sauna, hot tub & miniature golf is also included in the price of your room. Excellent value!! I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Review 73：The facilities were quite sad and in general run down, far below the usual Best Western standard. The pool area was quite scary, it wasn´t welcoming at all and the hot tub was not available for use at all. Reception located on first floor in a small office, everybody had to trample up to that office and obviously there was no real space for waiting or a second customer. Finally breakfast was self-service on all one way dishes and cuttlery, the amount of waste produced must be enourmous.

There was a pool, hot tub, sauna, exercise room and laundry facilities. Hotel looked attractive on the outside as well. All this was for a very reasonable, affordable site. Perfect for families with children. I would MOST DEFINITELY come here again and stay in a loft room.

Review 95：Our room turned out to share a wall with the work area. Did not appreciate someone using power equipment at 8 am. Not many good restaurants in the area for the largest city on Vancouver Island.
