Reviews for Sun Peaks Lodge

Review 1:the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant for dinner is amazing, you will need to make sure you book as this is a popular spot.

Review 2:Overall sun peaks village is an upper class resort which I did not know before visiting. Felt very uncomfortable during our stay as most if not all visitors to the village were extremely snobby and it was very off putting. Didn't seem to want young visitors at the resort. More for older couples and families and wealthy people. Which came across in the staff at the resort, we were very uncomfortable in a lot of restaurants and bars as the staff made it very noticeable that they did not want young people in the establishment. Would also advise to have the hot tub open during the day not just 3-10pm.

Review 3:The location, Centre of the village. Owner of hotel was professional and very welcoming.

Review 4:Very small, no microwave or anything other than a small coffee maker and kettle. Only two chairs and small table even when they crammed in two double bed. Very little room to even walk.

Review 5:Good location. Close to ski lifts.

Review 6:Noise from snow plows VERY early - 4 AM - would get a room on village side not road side, next time. Found the spa facilities a bit run down - hot tub jets weren't working and steam room door wouldn't close.

Review 7:Staff were great - friendly and helpful. Location is good - close to hill and Village amenities. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for price.

Review 8:Great location, with underground parking (although that was extra). Within walking distance of everything. Very refreshing outdoors. Relaxing short stay.

Review 9:We were there in summer, and while there is not really anything in Sunpeaks at that time but golf, they spent great effort organazing all sorts of activities.

Review 10:We couldn't believe how friendly our new Australian friend was at the desk!!!!!! He was incredibly helpful and because of that we will always go back to that lodge.

Review 11:The express spa which was nothing to do with the hotel was a let down. My pedicure varnish evaporated in the jacuzzi!!!

Review 12:The jacuzzi was the best place ever!!! My boyfriend proposed to me! Love this place to death

Review 13:The bed was uncomfortable. All the pillows were too soft, and there was only one tiny little bar of soap and no body wash provided between the 2 of us. Also, we asked if we could check in a little early, they said yes, but then housekeeping showed up, didn't knock, unlocked the door and was surprised to see us in the room.

Review 14:I liked the politeness of the staff, and it was in a great location.

Review 15:Can't think of a thing,

Review 16:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only there overnite so didn't make use of any of the facilities that they offer.

Review 17:Room somewhat airless as no aircon or ceiling fan. Bed not firm enough for 2 people. There were 2 queen beds in the room and we only used one as we were only there one night. Should have used both!

Review 18:Hotel ambience. Big room. Fridge & coffee facilities.

Review 19:Breakfast available at the hotel would have been convenient. The bed was not comfortable.

Review 20:The location makes it ideal for taking advantage of the activities offered at the resort.

Review 21:After booking room through booking.com and receiving a confirmation this hotel called and said they gave room to someone else. They did offer an alternative room saying it was a special deal but the price of the downgraded room was the same as I would have got from booking.com. no special deal or extras offered for being inconvenienced by their screw up.

Review 22:Didn't stay after they screwed up our booking.

Review 23:Very limited things to do in May should advertise same for overseas visitors, could not find staff in morning at 7.30, Manual credit card swipe machine destroyed my credit card. Only a couple of rooms let out and they placed our room next door, woken by 4.30am shower next door etc

Review 24:Quaint little village, good clean room very reasonable priced

Review 25:The room lock was not working properly. I had to wiggle it back and forth many times to open the door.

Review 26:Great central location between the two mountains. Steam room worked excellent on loosening me up after a day on the slopes. Hot tub too. Staff helpful with parking and discount lift tickets purchased from front desk.

Review 27:Rooms a little tired as was the feel of the hotel. Surprising that despite an afternoon arrival it was not possible to eat in the hotel that evening. We did enjoy a couple of meals out in the village during our stay although options are limited hence restaurants do get booked up early.

Review 28:location of the hotel and ease of access to skiing

Review 29:My husband and I stayed here with our 2 year old and two other families, each who have two children ranging in ages from 9-12 years old. We checked in on a Friday and left Sunday afternoon. The staff was fantastic and eager to help with any request. The rooms were on the small side but had lots of storage and space for all the gear we brought. The location was perfect - right in the middle of everything and an easy ski in/out to the lifts. We've stayed here before and will definitely be back.

Review 30:Hot tub isn't the greatest, downstairs in the basement. Elevator wasn't working at night either, had to walk through restaurant to stairs in our swimsuits

Review 31:Great location, very nice staff, beautiful building.

Review 32:We had the basic level room, which was well presented but the window was rather small so the room was dark on a bright sunny day. The WiFi was really poor.

Review 33:Quite simply the location, right in the centre steps from the base of the slopes. The sauna, steam room and hot tub was lovely. Everything was immaculately clean.

Review 34:The doors clunk loudly as people open and close them. Ordinarily this us fine except for the early hours of the morning when you are sleeping. The weekend is the worst.

Review 35:Location was excellent, staff tried hard. The restaurant wasn't excellent but there's plenty of choice in the village. Over all good value for money.

Review 36:The location of the lodge is great, right in the centre of the village and close to the lifts, restaurants and shops. Enjoyed the spa after a day on the slopes.

Review 37:The wifi didn't work, and the "complimentary breakfast" wasn't complimentary, We had to pay for it.

Review 38:The staff and location were both excellent.

Review 39:Quite expensive for quality of room. Restaurant was pricey and poor food quality

Review 40:Location was amazing. Buffet breakfast was poor quality and really expensive. Standard rooms nothing great. Staff were helpful.

Review 41:No real negatives per se. A solid choice but by no means luxurious or exceptional. Recommended.

Review 42:Decent enough hotel, with professional staff and service. The room was generously sized and clean. The bathroom was beginning to look a little dated, but the rest of the hotel was holding up well.

Review 43:Nothing really .

Review 44:Always clean, friendly, and you will feel like you are a part of the family. It is owner operated and managed, with that personal touch. Also they have the best Steak House at this resort.

Review 45:Way overpriced for the value you receive, even for the holiday season. Staff is poorly trained and not accommodating, especially for the money I paid. Since you charge so much for the holiday season, you should hire additional personnel and train the existing one for this period at least. You front desk lady at the checkout was unusually unaccomodating.

Review 46:Cant complain on much but the wifi was very temperamental, but we were in the mountains! And although the breakfast had lots to offer, the 'hot' food could have been 'hotter'

Review 47:The staff were always very friendly and very helpful. Perfect location, very near to main chairlifts and shops and bars. The restaurant in the hotel 'the steakhouse' served excellent food. Sun Peaks was a great place!!

Review 48:We were on the street side and in the morning the plowers going by were noisy at 6:00 am. Would book on the nonstreet side in future. Also could hear the heater or some apparatus go on and off during the night so not as quiet as would like.

Review 49:Excellent service - best I have had in years from a hotel. Everyone at the front desk was great as were the cleaning staff.

Review 50:The rooms are great for a couple. WAY to small for more than 2 people. It said sofa bed but it was a single chair bed. They moved a sofa bed in but then the room was VERY cramped. It is not a ski in ski out as stated by VI.

Review 51:Great location, great breakfasts, VERY comfortable beds, very clean and Richard, manager and his staff were extremely accommodating.

Review 52:Hot breakfast was awful. I wouldn't go back for another meal. The hotel is older and it shows. Spa area is very small. Had to take our skis off on the ski out to cross a street.

Review 53:Loved being able to ski in/out. Room was clean. Had booked 3 rooms. 2 were adjoining so that was nice. Nice lobby with fireplace. Spa area was nice. One of the nicest ski Hills I've skied at. Has a ski storage room in the basement with available ski locks.

Review 54:A bit of a language barrier with the front desk but it was fine

Review 55:Very economical and fantastic hotel. For only $100 a night I expected much less but it exceeded my expectations

Review 56:Very few issues: ● Limited and fairly unsecured parking ● Sun Peaks itself was very quiet indeed, but it was off-season

Review 57:● Reception Staff and Management were friendly and helpful. ● Despite being an old building, it smelt fresh, and it looked fresh ● Location in the centre of the village was good

Review 58:Nothing

Review 59:Large pleasant room with balcony with flower boxes and view. Very good value. Obliging host. Lovely walks. Quiet because it is a ski resort and we were there in summer.

Review 60:I was not a big fan of the bed and the bedding. The bed was a little stiff for my liking and the bedding was stiff and loud. I also didn't like that there was no stair access and we we had to use the elevator all the time.

Review 61:I liked the staff and the location most of all. The staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The location was easy walking distance from everything that Sun Peaks had to offer.

Review 62:Came to run the Spartan Race and the staff had put out extra towels for us and supplied us with a large plastic bag.... this is a great extra that if you have ran a race like this before you will understand why... Greatly appreciated!!!

Review 63:The wifi was very weak and it cut out quiet a bit. The hot tube is down for the summer.

Review 64:The service was awesome, very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned everyday and nothing went missing. The price was very good. The bed was amazingly comfortable.

Review 65:Quiet mid week stay. Good off season rate for quality room. Underground parking. Resort is self contained with restaurants and some shopping. It is worth the diversion and the drive up the hill even in the summer. Close to Kamloops.

Review 66:After driving from Jasper we really enjoyed our spacious room with balcony and flower boxes overlooking pine trees and mountains. A very pretty ski village, quiet in summer, with lovely walks and inexpensive eateries. Ideal before a long winding drive to Whistler!

Review 67:The hotel was clean and quiet, Staff were excellent very friendly, We had the spa suite, very romantic, spa was a nice size for two people. The resort was awesome. Really enjoyed the trails to go hiking. I would recommend Sun peaks resort to all my friends and family. It is very beautiful in the summer but winter would be even more beautiful. I would recommend the Hotel and Sun Peaks who is looking for a great get away!!!!!

Review 68:Perhaps an airconditioner for hot days and evenings it was a little warm. Would be no problem in the winter.

Review 69:This hotel was affordable without compromising cleanliness, comfort of bed and linens, quiet, location, polite and friendly staff made for an enjoyable stay in which we plan go to again in the future.

Review 70:It was summer - no air conditioning so window had to be open. Had a fan but couldn't use it right next to the window as light would get in. So much noise in the very wee hours of the night from people walking after bars closed etc.

Review 71:Staff was friendly, room was clean. Good location.

Review 72:I Didn't like the fact that there was no one in reception after 8pm. I didn't like the drive off the highway almost 30 klms. I didn't like the room quality.

Review 73:Sun Peaks is a great ski village community. Its a quiet place to stay. We stayed in the summer yet it was very peaceful.

Review 74:The room provided no air conditioning therefore was warmer than I liked. Thankfully there was a fan in the closet. I wished more restaurants were open. I will have to visit again in the winter.

Review 75:I enjoyed the location and price of the accomodations. Beautiful resort village with a lot of potential for summer visitors.

Review 76:Never book rooms online, if something comes up and you need to travel, you can't. This location is very isolated, only stay here, if this is your point of interest.

Review 77:Rooms have no a/c and with hot weather the room was a little too warm although the big windows open which eventually cooled the room through the night

Review 78:Everything was great with only one exception

Review 79:We stayed for one night on our way to our camping destination. Very cute place and was beautiful in the summer (when we stayed) many places within walking distance to eat. Mario at the front desk was great, we locked ourselves out of the room after hours and he came back to let us in and was great about the situation, we even tried to offer money for his troubles and it was denied. Defiantly would visit again!

Review 80:The inconsiderate guests up the road who partied till 3.00 am, there needs to be a curfew for the peace of all visitors to the village.

Review 81:The staff are great. The property is clean and welcoming. The room was a comfortable size with a good bathroom decently stocked, a small fridge, coffee and tea maker and a nice balcony as well.

Review 82:Perhaps because we booked the room during the off season, but $89/night was a very good deal for such a beautiful, clean and comfortable room. Mario, at the front desk is a character and was very helpful and friendly. We only booked the room at Sun Peaks Lodge because Kamploops and Revelstoke was full during the long weekend but it was a very pleasant surprise to stay at such a beautiful hotel for such a price. I would gladly stay there again!

Review 83:when we were leaving we saw the sign for a hot tub, steam room that we were not told about upon arrival, I asked about a pool but was told there was none. It would have been nice to have the restaurant open or some sort of breakfast service

Review 84:Close proximity to everything

Review 85:Mario (front desk staff/manager) made sure everything was taken care of and did the best job, can't begin to explain how great he was. Clean, and a great place to walk around

Review 86:Do not expect a lot of night life in summer but the ambience of the town is outstanding

Review 87:Big clean rooms best location wonderful service it is worth the scenic drive up the valley to this beautiful Swis style ski resort. You must ask Mario the owner how to see the fantastic waterfalls if you are driving to Jasper. PS great value for money in summer.

Review 88:No complaints about the hotel, although there is little to do in Sun Peaks out of season if you don't like golf

Review 89:Convenient location to break up a long journey, friendly and helpful staff with knowledge of the local area, good value for money, pleasant hotel in a lovely little town

Review 90:Had a great time hiking and enjoying the concert. Sun Peaks Lodge was very central to the activities. Would recommend. Staff were exceptionally helpful and accomodating.

Review 91:Nothing.

Review 92:The welcome from the front desk staff was warm and friendly. The room was well appointed, the bed very comfortable and there was a fan to blow air as it had been 34 degrees. We would go back again and will tell our friends.

Review 93:Dining facilities in hotel closed. Sun Peaks is 30kms from main highway which was further than we expected for an overnight stay.

Review 94:Hotel very comfortable. Great choice of eateries in village close to hotel.

Review 95:Would be nice if the restaurant attached to the hotel had facility to charge meals there to your room.

Review 96:Location

Review 97:Everything; the skiing, the little village, the staff, the room, the view from the room, the food

Review 98:The bed was very firm

Review 99:It was right in the village. Was able to walk everywhere, not far from anything.

Review 100:Room was on the small side, Hot tub facilities could be improved

Review 101:Convenience to lifts and village

Review 102:Price

Review 103:Maybe the mattress was a bit tired and the pillows were lumpy.

Review 104:THE PERSONALIZED SERVICE AND FRIENDLINESS - restaurant was great, too!

Review 105:Location in the village and proximity to the ski hill

Review 106:Treated a little rudely when asked about extra cot

Review 107:Hot tub and sauna room

Review 108:No breakfast included

Review 109:Location, very good value, Staff

Review 110:Beds were uncomfortable

Review 111:Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful and were accomodating to allowing us a late check out.

Review 112:We liked the speedy service, how easy it was to check in and out and the cleanliness of the room

Review 113:Exceptionally accommodating and friendly.

Review 114:We would have liked to have been informed that all facilities in hotel were closed until ski season begins.

Review 115:Good location in the centre of this European Atmosphere village.

Review 116:Too minimal, no kitchen, minimum equipped,

Review 117:Silent, Central

Review 118:Very friendly personal service, would stay there again

Review 119:beds were hard can feel springs. WiFi slow many tries with password to connect.

Review 120:Great location, clean, underground parking.

Review 121:The hotel staff was really friendly and knew who we are without asking

Review 122:Good location

Review 123:Well maintained hotel
