Reviews for Hotel Der Kleine Prinz
Review 1:- Nothing in particular. It is a small hotel so it might be lacking some of the features bigger structures have such as a bar or a parking on site, but the service and professionality of the staff, joint to a distinct flair of the place quickly make up for the difference.
Review 2:- Location is good, just a few steps from the centre and maybe 10/15 minutes on foot from the thermal baths - Staff has been very professional throughout the stay - Room decorations seem to have a taste for the details.
Review 3:The hotel is a perfect combination of charming inn and sophisticated hotel. The staff are cordial and welcoming. The restaurant is outstanding. The rooms range from cozy single (efficient!) and roomy with an open fireplace.
Review 4:Breakfast buffet a little limited in comparison with other Baden establishments I've stayed in, but very adequate.
Review 5:Hotel in very good decorative condition, very obviously a family owned establishment with a good underground car park nearby.Very friendly and efficient staff. Good cuisine.
Review 6:We arrived late, and were quickly helped to our rooms. We then had our dinner in the dining room - it was absolutely excellent. This is a great place, with great staff. Try it, you'll like it.
Review 7:Fairly well done hotel and quite well located. Younger staff was willing to please but the seniors had a stuck up attitude. They did everything seemingly willingly but eventually one felt they were only doing you a favour. They tried to give us a smaller room than what we had paid for. After we went up to the room we objected and they they offered an upgrade at a small extra cost which we took. A senior suggested a few restaurants for dinner. When I later asked them to make a reservation I was told they do not make reservations!! How silly is that? Probably because they thought this would force us to eat at their own restaurant. Which we certainly did not. Breakfast much written about but quite ordinary really. Nice, but the least one could expect from a hotel that charges these rates and actually not as nice as others we have come across on this trip. Overall a tight and pokey feeling to the property.
Review 8:location.
Review 9:It seems that the Hotel has problems with staff - there are many boys who are very kind but are not professional at all, or guy at the reception who should study how to welcome guests. No hospitality. The rooms don't have devices to make tea/coffee which promise the site. The space of the rooms is not what is declared.
Review 10:No air conditioning but fan provided once requested.
Review 11:Old fashioned quality service where nothing was too much trouble. Nice touches like complementary tea and cakes and excellent selection for breakfast. Great location from which to explore Baden-Baden, visit Spas etc. Convenient parking.
Review 12:Very poor air conditioning while it was very hot that week. Should at least invest in fans for each room
Review 13:Excellent location, very clean rooms, great staff
Review 14:Bad location Bad facilities Poor breakfast The gave us a rooms in the roof it was like staying in a jungle And it was too expensive compari g with facilities The stairs like climping a mountain
Review 15:Nothing Everything was bad
Review 16:need more non-pork verities in the breakfast
Review 17:Every thing in this hotel is great from the beautiful design to the wonderful small garden to the very convenient location but all of that is nothing compared to the wonderful staff who made us feel at home and always smiling even with my two little noisy kids a big thanks to all who is working there i wish you all the best
Review 18:The mattress was a bit soft. The bathrooms in the penthouse suite were a bit of a challenge - very small. During breakfast they only had one brezel, no "normal" brötchen, only ones with seeds.
Review 19:The staff was very nice. During check-in we got offered the penthouse suite instead of two junior suites. We also didn't realize that the room rate not only included breakfast, but also coffee and cake in the afternoon, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything in Baden-Baden was walking distance from the hotel.
Review 20:The breakfast lack variety
Review 21:Everything I was upgraded from Jounior Suit to the penthouse 2 bedrooms ... its one of the best places i ever stayed in with my family ... very special. highly recommended
Review 22:A beautiful hotel well-situated to everything in Baden-Baden. Service from hotel staff was generous and impeccable. Breakfast and tea were lovely. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Review 23:Not a terrible negative, but some of the amenities listed for the hotel, such as robes and a coffee pot in the room were nowhere to be found. Parking for our car very expensive.
Review 24:Location and overall quality of the hotel comes with high marks from reviewers and travel books alike. We found most of them to be on target. We especially liked that the reception desk offered us a choice of 3 rooms when we first arrived, all quite different from each other. It was early May, and the hotel was quiet at the time. There is not a large reception and lounge area and only 1 tiny elevator, but nevertheless the hotel exudes a quiet charm. The hotel has a reputation for fine food and the daily morning breakfast proved to be excellent. Our room was large with a very nice updated bathroom. Some of the furnishings were beginning to show their age and the bed was not comfortable, at least for us, but all in all, I'd say you can be assured of a pleasant stay at this hotel. Don't miss Baden Baden on your tour of Germany. It is much much more than a spa town with a glorious park for strolling, excellent museum, great culture, fantastic restaurants - be sure to try "Rizzi" on the park and "Amadeus" for lunch ( in one of the main plazas.) Of course, the shopping - or maybe just window shopping, isn't to be missed either.
Review 25:- Incredibly professional and helpful staff - Good breakfast spread - Perfect location to town - restaurants, shopping, spas, etc. - Rooms are quaint and comfortable
Review 26:The floors squeaked like crazy, but we found that rather charming. Older hotels do that.
Review 27:Fantastic location - close to the downtown area. Walking distance to a lot of great things.
Review 28:The staff were not helpful in loading our luggage into the car.
Review 29:The hotel had a sophisticated and classy feel about it. Everything was lovely and the location was excellent. We had a lovely room and the afternoon tea was a nice addition.
Review 30:Nothing.
Review 31:Welcomed by staff Bags carried upstairs Choice of rooms Car parked Comfortable room Good restaurant, helpful staff Good location near centre and easy to find.
Review 32:The hotel is a couple of minutes from the town but in a quiet street. The decor is traditional, the staff are very helpful and the dining room is a joy to eat in.
Review 33:The ambience is most enjoyable and the location puts all the importantthings within walking distance. The personal attention is great, even ifsometimes with that German efficiency lacking the smile :-)
Review 34:The only thing I can say that might be a negative is the elevator was a little small for our luggage and stroller.
Review 35:The management and staff were so helpful and friendly. The restaurant was amazing. I felt like I was in the heart of Paris. The food was great and they even had a nice kids menu for my 2 year old. The breakfast buffet was exquisite. Delicious! And the room was decorated so nice. The big bath tub wad great too. All around I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you
Review 36:Bed was too soft.
Review 37:The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was lovely and delicious. We loved the personal attention we received.
Review 38:Everything were perfect, I booked one suit and one deluxe room but they have offer me a bent House with the same price when they found that we are 7 (3 adults and 4 children) which content 1 single bed in floor level, 2 single beds in one room, one king bed in another room+ one king bed in the sitting hall. I felt that I was staying in my villa.
Review 39:Bathroom and bedroom not separated by door in our room (although I believe some rooms have this)
Review 40:Great restaurant, good room / bed. Baden-Baden is a lovely town to visit. Also enjoyed the cute artwork around the hotel

Review 80:Really no lobby, but a lovely outside area.
Review 81:Close to town, about a 5 minute walk. Hotel in a beautifully restored Bldg. absolutely spotless. Served a wonderful breakfast. The service was 5 star.
Review 82:Located on a road with a fair amount of traffic.
Review 83:Individual style Hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. High Quality breakfast.
Review 84:Nothing - would go back.
Review 85:I arrived late at night to be greeted by name - which is always a goodsign in terms of attention to detail. That attention to detail andservice continued throughout my stay. The hotel is quite small and, assuch, the facilities are limited but everything that is available isperfect - in fact it feels more like a private house than a hotel. Myroom was a good size and light and clean - there was no bath but adecent hot shower. The hotel staff could not do enough for me - myflight was late in the afternoon so I sat in the very comfortable loungeand was provided with coffee free of charge - I had problems printingoff my boarding pass so they helped with that also. The meal I had inthe evening was delicious (I recommend the restaurant) - and they servedcake and coffee (included in the room price) in the afternoon - a goodidea if you need a snack before a concert or opera in the evening. Thelocation of the hotel is perfect for the town centre, shops, spas etc.It is too far to walk to the concert house - I arranged a car throughthe hotel which also picks up afterwards. All in all, a really enjoyablestay made memorable by the service levels and the amiable front deskconcierge.
Review 86:No major gripes but: Re room 65: A shelf at washbaisin height or higher would be better than low marble topped table in bathroom to permit better access to toilet bags. Safe useful, but not convenient inside wardrobe at ankle height with low light; would be better placed on shelf at shoulder height. Elsewhere:Lack of guests' lounge/bar. Should have liked a simpler & less expensive set dinner menu for guests who wish to stay in during evenings - gourmet dinners every evening are too expensive for some. Breakfasts could be improved by providing better quality/range of fresh bread and cereals and not ready-boiled eggs standing, getting cold and hard in salt-filled dish.
Review 87:Attentive, courteous and highly professional staff. Well located for both thermal baths, museums and central shopping area. A little further to go for Festspielhaus, but not beyond walking distance. Good beds. Luxury of regular towel changes. Afternoon tea included in price. Excellent 'gourmet' dinner.
Review 88:The room is small.
Review 89:Hotel staff are handsome and kind. The room is beautiful and comfortable. The restaurant is amaziing, and food are delicious. I really like smoke salmon at breakfast.
Review 90:We were supposed to receive a Baden-Baden card that saves us money atthe spas once we checked in. Since we never received it, we didn'treceive the discount at the spa and lost the savings.
Review 91:The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed staying atthe hotel.
Review 92:Expensive, but the price was expected.
Review 93:The room was very nice and the bed was especially impressive. Muchlarger than the normal European style beds. Bathroom was beautiful witha huge tub.
Review 94:leaving the next day!
Review 95:lovely room with huge corner bath and fireplace. staff very pleasant and accommodating, nothing too much trouble. food excellent with a great maître d, and lovely breakfast. Good location in Baden Baden, which is a super town.
Review 96:The staff really make this place. They could not be more attentive and welcoming. When we arrived they even parking our car for us and brought our luggage which many hotels just dont offer. And after a long drive it was lovely. We were offered 3 choices of rooms which was lovely and chose the Victorian room which was very different. The decor is very traditional and romantic but in keeping with modern times, all very good quality. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely, quite formal but exceptional service, and great food. It is lovely to be able to take your drinks to the library after which is a charming room. Breakfast was also great, traditional German breakfast and you could order omelettes etc which was nice. All in all we loved the touches of the Petit Prince which made it different. It is a charming romantic hotel in a great location which we would definitely recommend to others.
Review 97:The walls are not sound-proof at all and we could hear the young kids screaming and stomping around in the next room. The king size bed was actually 2 small mattresses put next to each other. No turn down service and limited bathroom amenities.
Review 98:It is a very nice, boutique hotel with a great location (few minutes walk to the casino and the Main Street). Room decoration was unique. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 99:Spoiled orange juice....seems to be the norm in Germany. It's not keptcold so it goes bad/bitter. 50% of restaurant help we decided were new,in training but that's not a bad thing just an adjustment they were allvery pleasant, willing to assist. Instant coffee used for afternoon tea.Stick to tea. (Breakfast coffee great!)
Review 100:Pretty hotel. Good food for breakfast. We did book a dinner there andthat was quite lovely. Within walking distance to everything we wantedto see...Christmas markets, shopping, casino, spas. Lovely room/librarywhere you can go on the internet or just hang out and read. Nice teatime in afternoon included.
Review 101:We loved our stay at this hotel! We stayed in a beautiful room overlooking the street,it was quiet, service was very good and chocolate at night with turn down service. We went to the Christmas markets and spa, we enjoyed both! Breakfast was included and it was a good combo of German and American types of food. The murals on the walls and pictures were fun! It even snowed!!
Review 102:Rooms were nice, different styles for each, however they are a little dated and some fixtures could be updated to bring better value for facilities provided.
Review 103:The staff were great at accommodating our every need. Breakfast was good with the option to order extras off a small menu.
Review 104:Absolutely wonderful. Beautiful, appointed rooms, excellent staff. Dignified, friendly and simply a first class hotel in every way.It was expensive, but worth it. D. Lewis
Review 105:We dined in on all three nights, and came away vaguely disappointed with the food, perhaps more with the nature and variety of the menu than with the quality of the cooking as such.
Review 106:Attractive decor; stylish rooms; general comfort.
Review 107:Expensive hotel and the rooms are very small, and superior rooms for one person and double room for two people, Including superior room bigger than double.
Review 108:Close to the market
Review 109:Breakfast in a nice design room but food not fresh, at the price higherthan five star in city centre, and the location one but stop away fromcity centre . I through the food will be nice but disappointed .I bookbecause of the design, but they try to push me to the other hotel aftercheck in,the staff said is sister hotel, but the other hotel staff wantme to fill in and sign the form again,he insist because is a differenthotel, we reject because he said is different hotel, and the staff therewas rude , we don,t understand why they waste our time, the staff saidbecause is noisy, if because of this , they should give me discount andnot push me to a hotel I did not book and the hotel is bad location(have to walk further)and look very old.
Review 110:Design
Review 111:The hotel was very much themed on the Der kleine Prinz story. We wereoffered a much discounted upgrade to a junior suite with jacuzzi as wewished. The hotel keeps to a high standard and the staff were veryfriendly and helpful with advice on sights, weather and travelpossibilities.Nothing seemed to be a problem for the staff where guestswere concerned. Breakfast room and restuarant were excellent.Buffetbreakfast was substantial and varied.
Review 112:Nice room and nice restaurant. I wish I could stay longer.
Review 113:The location was great!
Review 114:Could not get wifi to work in our room.
Review 115:Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good, a lot of variety and the bfast room was lovely.
Review 116:very dated. Door handles on all doors feel off during the stay. Felt tired.
Review 117:Location was good.
Review 118:the paintings
Review 119:aesthetic food
Review 120:Great experience and our children could enjoy the whole stay.
