Reviews for Hotel Pic Maià
Review 1:The lava hot pipes going through our room meaning that while it was -4 outside it was 56 and dry as a nun's tumble dryer inside. The heat troubled me further when attempting a bowel movement. Jugui! That radiator burns those knees. Wide selection of tinned overcooked food. The miserable manager.
Review 2:The fried eggs. The argentinian receptionist. She was friendly and helpful.
Review 3:Hotel in poor condition. Low headroom in the bedroom. Rooms were very hot and impossible to regulate temp - window kept open all night, lot of noise from outside. Food worse than poor and not much choice
Review 4:Hotel is way too far away from everything. About an hours walk from hotel to all the stores and bars. Asked for a room with a double bed but our room had 5 singles beds and 1 tiny window. Also, only one power outlet and it was next to the front door. We didn't end up staying the night and the man at reception said "what did you expect? We are 2 stars".
Review 5:Lying to encourage us to come : no problem if you don't have a car it is easy to take a taxi. The reality : there is no taxi available, so you have to come and / or start walking 1-2 hours (up or down). Almost no phonic isolation, so sleeping is an option, depending on the people nearby.
Review 6:restaurant is correct
Review 7:Very very slow staff at the reception (with very limited language skills). The restaurant and bar staff were very nice though. Careful, if you can't sleep with strong light, there is a gas station right in front of the hotel plus the light from the slopes, that might disturb you, as there are no curtains nor blinds on the windows. No hairdryer in the room, not even a possibility to borrow it from the receptipn-not very pleasant in winter. The food was not of very good quality, but the choice was decent.
Review 8:The location of the hotel is excellent if one is interested in ski in/out, but a bit far from the town, so no car=no (social) life... A typical mountain chalet, very modest but sufficient for its purpose.
Review 9:restaurant work just to 10pm,... bar inside the hotel is opend also just to 11pm. The rooms are not sound proofles
Review 10:Breakfast was excelent, a lot of different items to choose. location easy to find
Review 11:- decoration - food - no wifi in the rooms (wifi only in rest-room)
Review 12:- location
Review 13:No more shuttle to pas de la case Parking and meals are expensive
Review 14:Room size, location
Review 15:No free parking so used hotel garage which was t Bit dated
Review 16:Views from room
Review 17:rude staff noise at night doors banging people shouting quality of food no good room too hot the place is a dump and needs a total refurb too far from pas de la casa DON'T STAY HERE!!!!
Review 18:Location for skiing
Review 19:Breakfast is not great but acceptable for the price. Parking can be challenging if too much snow on the road. The room was a bit too warm
Review 20:Easy access to the slopes. Cheap beer at the bar. The room was not expensive.
Review 21:Bit noisy as corridors not carpeted. Walls thin & noisy next door neighbours would be an issue. Check in / out slow only one member of staff on desk. Rooms not cleaned over weekend or on days when there were lots arriving/ leaving.
Review 22:Food was excellent. Comfortable beds Warm rooms Ski onto slopes from across the road. Very multi national.. Towels given when asked for..
Review 23:There's no point staying in this hotel without a car. There's no public transportation that can reach the hotel and only one (!) taxi in the whole town. It was very hot in the rooms, so we had to sleep with the windows open. Wi-fi was only available in public areas. The personnel doesn't speak English (only Spanish, Catalan and French). Except for Marta of course :)
Review 24:The location was perfect for those travelling by car. You don't need to go anywhere and can start skiing just having crossed the street in front of the hotel. The view is adorable. This hotel probably has the highest altitude in whole Pas de la Casa. The administrator Marta, a Spanish girl, is wonderful. The breakfasts were pretty nice, but definitely not for vegetarians. On the whole the hotel is really nice.
Review 25:the room was shabby and far too hot even with the windows open all night. VERY noisy, you can hear everything in the next room and in the corridor. the staff were very reluctant to wipe my credit card details AFTER I had paid, including the strip number on the back.
Review 26:the food, breakfast excellent
Review 27:No public transport available at all into the resort. No Taxi! No bus and no shuttle bus service. Shower constantly varied between very hot and very cold. Room old, tired and not very clean. Many light bulbs either missing or not working. Did not try the food so unable to comment. There is a bar available, it was basic but ok. Internet facilities were not working.
Review 28:It was cheap, however probably not worth saving the money. Free parking.
Review 29:Very expensive for a two-star hotell, more like a student dormatory. Definately not cosy. Far from town.
Review 30:Excellent location, very close to slopes, marvellous views. The food is abundant and not bad. Warm and basically clean.
Review 31:Hotel room was way to hot, the pipes are visible in the room so even if you turn off your radiator and open a window, it doesn't help. It's fairly run down and desperately needs a bit of a revamp. Fine for a night. No fault of hotel but if they close the access lift then you will need to get a taxi up to the hotel. Be warned, there is ONE taxi in Pas de La Casa.
Review 32:Affordable and warm welcome
Review 33:-Bit quite if you wanted a livley evening - no thoughts to environment.... So hot had to sleep with windows open in a minus 9 gale and still woke up sweating.
Review 34:- remote -Bed was simple but firm mattress - Shower and bath were good (as in pressure and hot water) Amazing scenery -close to skiing
Review 35:1. The WI-Fi was only available in the foyer and games room areas. Not acceptable.2. The heating was up so high that customers had turned off all the radiators. The heat was coming from the pipework only but it was still too hot. When asked to turn the heating down the staff simply said it was automatic and could not be changed. 3. The rooms themselves were very poorly decorated, with light fittings not properly fitted to the walls. 4. Some of the toilets in the public areas were not working. 5. It took two days to get the extra pillows we asked for.
Review 36:A great location for skiing. The food was acceptable given the price wepaid and you could eat as much as you want (necessary if you areskiing). Generally the staff were very helpful, given the languagedifficulties.
Review 37:The rooms are not so cosy, the beds are very hard. Very basic level of hotel. If you have low expectations this hotel is good. Food is ok.
Review 38:The location is perfect.
Review 39:wi-fi is in the public areas only.
Review 40:very good location - easy to find; free car-parking; 5 minuts walk from ski slopes - ski bus not needed; large room with nice view; we had halfboard - it was exelent (meat & fish, fruit & vegetables, cookies etc...); free wi-fi
Review 41:The hotel is about 5-7 km from Pas de la Casa; it's fine if you arecoming to dedicate yourself 100% to skiing, but if you want to go torestaurants in the evening it's very hard to get there and back. Thereis only one taxi in Pas de la Casa - if you can get this (as we did) youwill be fine!
Review 42:The extremely welcoming and friendly staff. The breakfast is reallygreat too.
Review 43:Hotel needs a refresh on the building, smells from bar/restaurant goingstraight up to the 3rd floor, jacuzi is not working (maybe because isthe start of the season), not very clean installations
Review 44:Excellent value for the money, easy access to the slopes (red), +-5km topasdelacasa ville (do not forget the tire chains), easy/free to park thecar, very beautiful views from the hotel to the mountains/slopes, staffis nice and very helpful
Review 45:The staff were excellent but the hotel was very poor. A very poor busservice to the town. Clearly there has been no investment in the hotelfor years. The rooms were disgraceful with missing tiles and holes inthe walls. Switches and light fittings were dangerous with bare wiresshowing. The rooms were dirty and small. Nobody had ever cleaned underthe beds! Potentially an excellent hotel because of the location, but itseems that the owners are just taking the money and running!
Review 46:The staff, the food and the location!
Review 47:The room I booked was not available, a twin bed room with couch bed (triple). Instead they would only offer a double bed so I slept on the floor. Also, the first dbl room they gave us had not been cleaned and was very small. I will never use this hotel again
Review 48:The breakfast was good
Review 49:Smoking An Andorra problem. The main lobby welcomes you with a damp smoke that sticks to you clothes. The bar is open to the hotel and lets the smell drift through the hotel to the kids play area and beyond. Our room was fine, but some of the loft rooms appeared claustrophobic.
Review 50:The hotel was located right on the slopes for Ski in / out. Away from the cafe bars and nightclubs of Pas de la casa, Restraurant was plentiful, Staff were genuine, respected those who respected them, and not those who didn't. The race track adjacent was amazing to watch rally driving on Ice. You need a car and it's a great position to visit Soldeu without spending half a day on the Ski lifts (park at El Tarter for free)
Review 51:Location was remote. You cannot walk into resport from here, but wewere aware before we booked and as such was not an issue. Bus servicewas not frequent enough given the remoteness of the location It ispossible to ski out and ski back but the link to the 1st piste (red)needes to be pisted,
Review 52:Price (hotel and bar) Bottle of very drinkable wine was just €5, Beerwas €3 Simple approach, very relaxed & Friendly staff Food wasplentlyful and ok.
Review 53:The Hotel was uncomfortably hot which led to sleepless nights. The smokey atmosphere was also something which made the stay a little uncomfortable.
Review 54:Pic Maia exceeded expectations, we were aware of location and as a novice skier hired a car to get us down to the resort. The Hotel was clean, food good and staff warm and friendly.
Review 55:The largest drawback is location: - only 2 buses a day (8.30 am downhill and 5.50 pm uphill). - NO taxis (spent 1.5 hours waiting for taxi from Andorra-la-Vella at friend's hotel lobby & it didn't come). - it took me about 40 min walking down to Pas de la Casa. BUT: you can easily use hitch-hiking. Both Spanish & French drivers are very friendly. I went round-trip hotel-Pas de la Casa even in the night (use international gesture - a thumb's up).
Review 56:Really good quality for twice as less price in comparison with all Pas de la Casa's hotels at a high season on January, 1-9 (<50EUR per day) + breakfast is really good + rooms & bathroom are clean and relatively new and large (I have 3 beds). + heating is good Strongly recommend for people who need just to skiing all the day & sleep at a hotel. P.S. table football is twice cheaper than at Pas de la Casa (1 EUR) :)
Review 57:I would like to say that I found the reception service sloppy and illinformed, they didn´t know that on Tuesdays we couldn´t rent out skisfrom the hotel and we were not informed that there was only one bus at5.30 that would take us up the mountain back to the hotel and the hoteldidn´t supply a bus, therefore we had to walk 5km up the mountain atnight! It was an awful and really dangerous walk.I found the staff unhelpful and they lacked consistency, the toilet in our room didn´t work for most of the time and I didn´t find the vegetarian option existing for the night time meal. Not impressed and won´t be back.
Review 58:Food very poor and wi-fi restriction
Review 59:Location to ski slopes
Review 60:Fire the cook! Worst dinner I have been served in 40 years!
Review 61:Superb location, and good value for money.
Review 62:Could have done with more variety for breakfast and dinner.
Review 63:Room very warm and serviceable.
Review 64:parking
Review 65:location
Review 66:Staff was friendly but unprofessional.
Review 67:Location location location. Pretty good value for the money
Review 68:Dated decor, remote location, Meal times to late (8.00AM and 8.00PM)
Review 69:Value for money. Ski in / out.
Review 70:Been here before and will again. Great staff and very reasonable.
Review 71:very nice for 2**
Review 72:Beds
Review 73:Hotel staff and food
Review 74:the hotel needs maintenance urgently.
Review 75:big improvement on management, service. the soup at the reception after ski is great
Review 76:There is no transport to pas de la casa
Review 77:The staff, the hotel was lovely and the food.
Review 78:Small room, worn or broken fittings/fixtures.
Review 79:Easy access to ski slopes.
