Reviews for Norfolk Guest House Inn
Review 1:Although not a bad experience, the room was presented on the booking site as a "King Suite" which led me to believe that it offered a king sized bed. That was the principal reason I chose this room. Had I read the fine print, I would have realized that it was a queen, which would have led me to look at other options. However, the site was misleading.
Review 2:The room was stunning!
Review 3:Beautiful heritage house with the most wonderful host who even made us fresh muffins to take with us when we told her we would have to leave early and couldn't stay for breakfast. Janet also let us in four hours before check-in time so we could drop our luggage off before touring the university. The penthouse suite was perfect and comes with a fireplace and an in-room jacuzzi. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 4:Quite a bit of traffic noise from the main street in front of the house.
Review 5:The main floor queen bedded room was highly decorative and very comfortable. Convenient to the front door to allow my dog out.
Review 6:House is on Major road which is noisy until 11pm
Review 7:Beautiful house. Excellent breakfast. Lady who owns the house was wonderful and very helpful with directions ..etc
Review 8:Everything was beyond my expectations. The room was gorgeous, the breakfast was gourmet and the location was only 0.5km from downtown. The free WiFi was much appreciated. And now that I have discovered Norfolk, staying in a hotel is out of the question.
Review 9:Having never stayed at a B&B before I didn't know what to expect? Paul & Janet keep a beautiful house, & the people staying there were both friendly & interesting. Breakfast was amazing & the location was perfect for walking downtown. Loved the room and slept well.
Review 10:Great experience, gorgeous house. Wish I had known that our fabulous private washroom was across the hall...
Review 11:The walkability factor was terrific, being so close to city centre was great.
Review 12:Overall we had a wonderful experience. Would not change anything.
Review 13:I liked the comfort and class of the building and atmosphere. Well run facility with lots to offer everyone.
Review 14:Had paperwork from booking.com but owner was not expecting us and said she did not have us listed. So ended up with more expensive room. Also was expecting bathroom in our room for price but out in hallway. No bathrobes as listed, very small tv and no Kleenex in room to blow runny nose. Could hear people coming and going and traffic from very busy street as our room was right up front of house. Owner was nice and very good breakfast served.
Review 15:Never tried a b&b before, so new experience. Now know we prefer a hotel atmosphere.
Review 16:If you enjoy old world charm, your will love the Norfolk B&B. Gorgeous hardwood floors, a marvelous dining room, and updated, spa like bathrooms. Breakfast was prepared perfectly.
Review 17:We booked online, based on the location, so that we could walk to the local pubs and see some of downtown Guelph. The location was perfect, and the B&B was immaculate. Gorgeous rooms, super cozy bed, the host was as sweet as can be and the breakfast was just perfect! I would go again in a heartbeat!
Review 18:The room temp cooled off early in the evening; not sure if we could have controlled that? Didn't see a thermostat in the room. A bit too much noise from other guests passing / mingling in the common areas; bedroom door had atleast an inch opening at bottom. Could put a tight door sweep to give more privacy maybe.
Review 19:Great heavy comforters and pillows; slept in until 8 (that's rare). Breakfast was pleasant and enough to get us until late lunch. Wonderful spacious bathroom; well decorated. Pleasant host. Will go back for sure!
Review 20:Everything was great!
Review 21:This classic old home has been lovingly and creatively turned into a charming B&B. And, Janet, the host fixes a wonderful full breakfast that will send you off well and comfortably fed. The location is on a fairly busy road in Guelph, but the street noise does not seem to penetrate the house. Very handy location for folks visiting Guelph Univ. -- about 10 miles off the 401 for travelers zipping across Canada. Received a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant for dinner, and had one of the best cod dinners ever!
Review 22:A great place to stay. The central location is great as is the room and the breakfast.
Review 23:Janet was amazing and very helpful. Breakfast was awesome!
Review 24:Location, ambience, hostess, old home preservation!
Review 25:Casual approach. Everything was too high or too big
