Reviews for Riders Palace
Review 1:The rooms are not well isolated, as we could hear what was happening in other bedrooms and in the corridors (friends laughing and shouting, loud music until 00:00,...). But that is OK if you assume you are in a youth hostel. We have stayed a lot in places like that and we are kinda used to it. But the worst thing was the last night. There was a party at the club in the basement, which took place until 4.30 AM. We went down to complain but we could only find a guard. He said that he could not do anything about it, that the party was doing great and offered us some earplugs. This is outrageous for guests that have paid for staying and sleeping. It is simply unacceptable. I think the hotel has a clear target audience and they should just promote that. If you are looking for something else, it is definitely worth the effort to pay only a bit more and go to another options in the area.
Review 2:The location is great and facilities are very convenient. The staff is nice although we did not feel that typical friendly, warm, helpful, Swiss-like service. The breakfast is modest but more than enough to get you going up the slopes. It is a good choice if you are young and you travel with friends on a backpacker style. Definitely not a place to relax and stay calm, just to drink, party and sleep after a day riding.
Review 3:mattresses are VERY soft, but that's an individual preference.
Review 4:really cool place! if you'd like to ski or snowboard, this is a great hostel since it's located right next to the mountain lifts. however, this also means that it's not in town, so if you don't have a car you have to depend on buses to take you to flims or laax. party on saturday night was fun, despite the very young party population :-) breakfast buffet was sufficient and good, and staff were extremely friendly.
Review 5:The DJ in the club underneath the hotel. Terrible music. Slightly hipster crowd.
Review 6:Short walking distance to the slopes, friendly and helpful staff, simple but comfortable styling, which makes it very good value for money. A fun, sociable place to stay.
Review 7:Super cool vibe, facilities and staff. I will be back with more washing just as an excuse to see if the beautiful lawyer will let me buy her drink ;D
Review 8:I was a solo traveller and just wanted a couple of days on the slopes. Obviously this was at the weekend and the hostel offers entertainment for the guests. I didn't realise how close the rooms would be to the source of the bedlam and meant that it was very noisy until the late hours. Breakfast was offered every morning and although it was super helpful to have food provided, it was only bread and cereals. Some fruit would of been good! Or porridge!
Review 9:Loved the location, literally a minute from the bus stop and then two minutes away from the lifts. Storage for equipment was excellent, and the beds were very comfy after a long day riding. The staff were super helpful and friendly.
Review 10:Adding fresh fruit to the breakfast buffet would be nice.
Review 11:Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy access to and from the slopes. Wasn't the party hostel some other reviews were speaking about but there were good places to party in town.
Review 12:Riders Palace is just beside the Laax lift. It has everything a rider need like a good breakfast, a ski/snowboard locker with dryer. Beside this, Riders Palace is a place that hosts best DJs from Europe in their 1500 people concert house in the underground.
Review 13:The breakfast could be slightly better, but it's still quite good! Nothing really, the place is a gem.
Review 14:This place could not justify its name more, really. First things first, its target group: riders. Not families, romantic couples (unless they're "riders" too). Everything about this place is beautiful. The building itself (lighting should get an award!), the facilities, lobby etc (I mean there is a proper club in the garage!) and most importantly, the people! Beautiful in everything! Location also perfect for LAAX. This is the most luxurious snowboarding "hostel" I could imagine. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny.
Review 15:It is very nice place for 4-5 days. Just 7-8 minutes walking distance to the lifts. Breakfast is satisfactory includes bread, muesli, croissant, three diffrent kind jam, nutella, butter, coffee and tea. Rooms, Locker room and ski room are perfect!
Review 16:Breakfast was pretty minimal, something warm would have been nice for the slopes all day... The shower was super weak.
Review 17:Ski/Snowboard storage situation is awesome!| Cool lights in the lobby. foozball great restaurants + bars nearby. so close to Laax
Review 18:... but you always have at the reception this type of "selected girl", who seems to be the creator of the place or to be part of the hype. You feel then whether stupid or snobbed by so much arrogance. It is just about ski & having fun... A complete closed door between the toilets and sleeping room would be a real plus.
Review 19:modern, extremely convenient for skiing/snowboarding, hotel, bar, club within the building, staff but...
Review 20:Watch out, swiss frank got equal to euro recently (but the price for a 0.25 beer is still 4.50), which makes everything more expensive. =(
Review 21:Since last year, the palace did few improvements. Now they serve a better free simple breakfast and no need to log on constantly for wifi access which works in the whole resort. Great hostel. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Review 22:there is a club below the hotel, parties can last until 5AM and music is loud on the rooms, you feel you are trying to sleep on the dancefloor... plus, the 4 bunk bed rooms include a shower and toilette but the doors have opening on the bottom and top of over 20cms, weird future for a shared room!
Review 23:great design, cool bar and staff, close to the laax station, parking available, good beds...
Review 24:Can be a bit noisy but not as bad as some other reviews (that said we were on top floor)
Review 25:Shower room after you have checked out to allow for a day on the slopes. Friendly Staff
Review 26:Die Lage - Just for young people
Review 27:Das Hotel ist sehr laut!
Review 28:Breakfast was great
Review 29:Showers in the rooms poor.
Review 30:Great location
Review 31:Cool and helpful staff, great location near lifts, fun events, but I wish I was 22 not 45 :)
Review 32:As there was a party at the club downstairs it was quite noisy until 4 am, you could hear the music, but all the rest was really good.
Review 33:The location is perfect, it's comfortable, has a storage room for ski/snowboards and boots. It truly is a riders palace
Review 34:Loud music untill 2am. Not a 'no go', could be a bit less loud ;)
Review 35:Almost all. Friendlyness, cool place, other friendly guests, breakfast to go, Secure place. Especially the possobility to shower after check out time, we liked a lot.
Review 36:obviously when party is on it can be a bit loud. the breakfast is disappointing with the price of the room. the secured bedroom card is a bit restrictive when your friend are not staying in the same area (floor and side) as you.
Review 37:it's close to the slope, if you want to party it's the place to be.
Review 38:Wi-Fi disconnects at each mobile/tablet stand-by and login is necessary each time. Room lockers a bit too small and no ski/boots lockers in the whole hotel (just a public skiroom) Cappuccino for breakfast is way too expensive. But it's likely a matter of Switzerland. Some more parties and initiatives would be welcome.
Review 39:Friendly staff, cleanliness, rooms not crowded. Quite good free breakfast with croissant, orange juice, chocolate and an apple.
Review 40:breakfast is only a croissant, a chocobar, a piece of fruit and a fruit juice loud music from the club
Review 41:Great staff value for money, if you like a basic style hotel
Review 42:That our trip was so short.
Review 43:From the moment you arrive you are treated as if the Riders Palace is a home away from home. Wonderful hospitality. Excellent amenities and the location is one of the best in LAAX guaranteeing you to be up the mountain first! Highly recommend BRP!!
Review 44:The wifi internet would automatically disconnect after 15 minutes or so. It was pretty annoying. I think the wifi was part of a large city or area coverage so the hotel should set up their own wifi network
Review 45:The complimentary breakfast was unexpected and good.
Review 46:The night club situated in the basement of the hotel that did not closed until 6am Sunday morning.... It was also unfortunate that the entrance to the club was situated outside our window - very noisy.
Review 47:good location and nice hotel. Complimentary light breakfast in the morning.
Review 48:The pillows were too big/thick No breakfast options offered and nokettle/tea facilities in the room. No cheap breakfast option inRocks Resort area either...an unexpected cost.
Review 49:Staff very friendly Modern decor Felt safe with security passes to rooms
Review 50:The lights in the room are super eco-friendly. To the extent that onecannot see or read a thing.
Review 51:Very nice staff, great location and interesting design.
Review 52:The beer was to expensive but that is down to the country and not Riders Palace. Sollution....don't drink a lot. You are going to ride your board and Laax is a very boarder friendly resort. You can get drunk any night at home.
Review 53:Where do I start? Spotless clean, big beds (for bunks) endless hot hot water, friendly staff, Wifi was good, close to the lifts and no children! I can't fault the place. Ill be back very soon. So affordable and a superb resort.
Review 54:My fourth visit to the Riders Palace. Ok so Switzerland is pricy, butthe Riders Palace is by far the best value place to stay. I can alsoleave work in central London at normal time and be there by midnight, making a short 4 day skiing trip very do-able.All the staff are friendly and very helpful. I can't really fault this place. The recent addition of breakfast in the deal has made this place even better. Will be back next year.
Review 55:Club keeps you awake even with ear plugs. Music continued until nearly 6am. Not great if you are there to try and get full days of riding etc.
Review 56:Functional, clean, nice bar, good value, great location, friendly staff.
Review 57:Way too loud, although on the second floor and with earplugs, you would hardly get any sleep until 4am in the morning... and there was a concert/music almost every night. Unless you are young, willing to stay up to party and hit the slopes with little sleep, we do not recommend staying there.
Review 58:Well located, as just a short walk to the gondola. Plenty of restaurants around. Great party location for young folks.
Review 59:Are you kidding me? :)
Review 60:The best hostel where I have ever been!
Review 61:I would have liked a bath as well as a shower
Review 62:The contemporary design... The excellent staff The Location The Room

Review 75:Bed pillows were not good.

Review 91:clean, uncomplicated, young
Review 92:Switzerland is expensive!!
Review 93:Staff were really friendly
