Reviews for Comfort Inn Guelph
Review 1:I would have preferred twin beds and the mattress was a bit too soft. I was hoping for a pool and hot tub
Review 2:Good location. Easy registration and room close by.
Review 3:Many guests are working in near by factories...
Review 4:It's in Guelph, so if it was in Niagara Falls, price would be fine but $107/night for the location is a little steep. I recommend booking through places like tripadvisor. Stuff was friendly. Breakfast is poor quality but again, its not a 4-5 star hotel
Review 5:When showed up my room was not booked despite having confirmation email, was lucky there was a free room anyway. Some of staff not very friendly, unprofessional Was only able to get room facing road with a window that did not close, so you could here trucks on busy road all night, above cafeteria/front desk- all noise made sleep difficult Best to take rooms in back of hotel.
Review 6:Bed was comfortable. Two types of pillows with different options of soft/firm was really nice. The place was clean.
Review 7:The front desk staff were very rude! And even though we lived our room we will never stay again because we were treated like less then human
Review 8:Our room was clean and new looking. As well as very comfortable
Review 9:TV issues and there was only one channel. Hotel staff tried to fix it and were unable to connect the cable leaving us with one operable channel. Normally I would have insisted on another room but we were bringing our dog in for surgery and did not feel like getting more stressed.
Review 10:Nice room, clean and had access to patio with grass for the dog.
Review 11:First time I stayed here, I was given a room upstairs and had to carry my heavy luggage up the stairs. The second time, I specifically asked for a ground floor room and was given one right by the entrance. (So if you need a ground floor room, just ask) The location could be better; you'll need a car to get even to nearby restaurants as sidewalks are very limited in the area.
Review 12:Room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. Breakfast was pretty good.
Review 13:On the web site ur was easy to miss that the room was s smoking room but the staff very willingly changed me to a non smoking room
Review 14:The staff were very friendly and grloful the hotel was quiet St night the room was a good size and the hotel was easy to locate there was plenty of parking right beside the reception area the breakfast was very tasty and ample
Review 15:The breakfast had a great selection. If there was any complaint the eggs were a little dry. The Hotel is located in an area that would be considered commercial, but once you are in your room, who really cares.
Review 16:The room was well laid out. We booked the Jacuzzi Room, which was excellent at night as my wife and I had some bruises after rafting down the Elora Gorge. The room was spotless.
Review 17:Ice machine broken on hottest weekend of summer. Short staffed. The hot parts of breakfast were ice cold. Shortage of towels.
Review 18:Ground floor room with walkout.
Review 19:First morning, hot breakfast items were not available for extended period due to staffing. Lady seemed overwhelmed with her duties. Not very approachable.
Review 20:Check-in was quick and easy.Kalip provided exceptional service, when there were minor concerns in our original room.Very friendly and accommodating.
Review 21:there was no fresh fruit. A play area for kids would of been great No Screen on patio Doors
Review 22:main floor good access to our room we were travelling with 2 great grandchildren so that was important as kids like to go outside
Review 23:Front desk clerk was rude and slightly unwelcoming. Broken outlets in the room. Mold in the coffee maker in room.
Review 24:Very comfortable room. great location
Review 25:The staff were pleasant. The room and bathroom were clean and appeared to have been renovated recently. Unfortunately the only sitting chair was very tired and dirty looking and spoiled the overall appearance of the room. The only ice machine in the hotel did not work and our air conditioning in the room was very loud at times however worked fine.
Review 26:At check in he did not tell us we could use CAA or any other points program. Our floor which was non smoking smelled like smoke. Fridge was not cleaned our and had some leftover food in it!!
Review 27:Bed was good.
Review 28:They offer a daily valet service, but it does not exist. They provide washing powder with a washing machine and tumble dryer in back room for your use.
Review 29:Very nice, modern large room well equipped. Quiet although close to main roads. Easy access.
Review 30:The wifi reception in our room was poor, the coffee maker was broken and the morning reception staff was somewhat surly.
Review 31:The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the first reception clerk was very friendly. There was an unexpected and very tasty early evening snack.
Review 32:The service I received was excellent. The rooms were very clean. Often there is a film of residue in the Jacuzzi tub, this was spotless. The sheets and bed very comfortable. Excellent value.
Review 33:The front desk staff also booked my room to another guest who walked in on me while I was watching tv. It got sorted out but I value security of my possessions and personal privacy.
Review 34:I noticed quite a bit of hair in the bathroom and our floor had a funny smell. I didn't like the blankets. I often feel like cheaper hotels provide something that feels like a curtain. I have never understood that.
Review 35:I enjoyed the comfortable bed, the pleasant room and the decor. The staff were friendly and quite helpful. Our breakfast was good, but needed a few more healthy options (ie, no added sugar)
Review 36:The guy working at the front desk was not very friendly and the morning guy at the front desk was also taking care of the breakfast area and was very irritated and miserable which was noticed by everyone there.
Review 37:The jacuzzi tub in the room was very relaxing and the king siZe bed was very comfortable.
Review 38:when the one gentlemen (manager?) responded to me when my visa debit card didn't go through on their end bit the website accepted it.
Review 39:loved the bed and the breakfast and the value!
Review 40:My room was cold. It was minus 22 , however there was no heat on in the room when I arrived . Also it is concerning to me that the back door was propped open by an extension cord which was being used to run someones block heater. This is a breech of security .
Review 41:The large screen TV was standard Def so all the pics were a bit blury. They had an armchair for the desk instead of a desk chair.
Review 42:The room was very clean, warm (when I turned the heater on) and very quiet. I'd easily choose to stay here again. The breakfast in the morning was much more than I expected, had an attendant looking after it full time and the food was very good. They had a lot more than just muffins and cereal like other places.
Review 43:Because we travelled in a deep freeze with mounds of snow and ice. They had to salt the sidewalks and parking lot extensively. Unfortunately they don't use enviro salt (not blaming them that stuff is expensive) I would recommend bringing footware for your dog if you have it. It saved our dogs paws from being burned by the salt.
Review 44:Because we were travelling with a dog they put us in a room on the ground floor that had patio doors going out to a small treed area. Fantastic!
Review 45:Desk right inside door. Congested and cold. Fairly unresponsive desk staff. All areas smelled like smoke.
Review 46:The room was very good although there were some small misses in the cleaning.
Review 47:The front staff was during the day extremely rude and weird.
Review 48:I enjoyed that I was able to bring my dog with me. Went on new years ever and the place was quiet which is always good compared to other hotels.
Review 49:The heat could have worked better and the wifi was extremely slow
Review 50:Clean and modern looking hotel. Bed was extremely comfy and the room also had a patio.
Review 51:No Issues.
Review 52:Easy to get too. North end of Guelph however all main attractions close drive. We were playing hockey at University of Guelph which was only 15-minutes away. Good continental breakfast. Very quiet hotel. Great Country bar within walking distance.
Review 53:Had not been to Guelph in several years but had previously stayed at Comfort Inn. Wow, what a surprise...it was positively beautiful. I was blown away by all the changes, starting at the front desk. The room was clean and bright with great new furnishing . The people we're great..can't say enough..truly amazing. THANK YOU FOR THE MORE THAN COMFORTABLE STAY.. CONGRATULATIONS!
Review 54:on checking out I advised the desk that I had tripped the night before on the first landing and that I spilled some coffee. The young lady that helped me was more concerned than the desk clerk. Didn't seem interested that I had hurt myself.
Review 55:overall good sleep, breakfast was adequate.
Review 56:The breakfast-not enough tables-and no eggs etc left. Generally mediocre food. The receptionist when we checked in was glum.
Review 57:The staff we met in the morning were helpful and pleasant
Review 58:Only there 1 night. Nothing to complain about.
Review 59:good location for my purposes. Comfortable bed and excellent amenities. Staff helpful. Even had pizza for quick dinner on arrival!! Nice touch.
Review 60:-not enough bright lights in room. -no writing paper at desk. -breakfast needs work. -tacky sign on fridge "one yogurt per customer please"
Review 61:quiet at night. no slamming doors. comfortable bed and pillows.
Review 62:For 2 of the 3 nights had very noisy family in next room which awakened me several times during these 2 nights.
Review 63:Upon arrival, it was indicated that although I had booked and received confirmation from a booking site that my room was for 3 nights; it was only indicated that my reservation was for one night. I was bringing my son to Guelph for university ... the woman at front desk, although initially indicating she thought she could only accommodate the one night as they were busy; took some time and managed to accommodate me for the 3 nights. From her comments, I am assuming you should always call the hotel directly?!
Review 64:Wi fi is not working well, it depends on your room. I had to walk to the door in order to get a better signal. Futhermore, the hotel is far from downtown and from the U of G.
Review 65:It s a nice hotel, but it could be better!
Review 66:Nothing but good words from entering establishment until we left.Personel were great--room was great especially with 2 pillows(soft andfirm). Breakfast was as expected and enjoyed..No downside from us onthis visit.....THANKS Everyone.... S&G mallett
Review 67:registration clerk spoke rather quickly as if we knew everything already and had to ask him to repeat things; also too quick to give directions as if we were familiar with Guelph; sound proofing could be improved and could use a non-slip bath mat in shower
Review 68:easy to find directly off Hwy 7, comfortable bed and sofa to watch tv and all the usual extras (iron and ironing board, microwave, coffee maker and blow dryer) and laundry room and vending machines along with complimentary breakfast
Review 69:There was absolutely nothing to find fault with in this hotel.
Review 70:Everything about this hotel added to the enjoyment of our weekend visit to this area. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The room we were in had been recently renovated and all furnishings were top notch. The bathroom was spacious and very clean and our request for 2 extra towels was immediately taken care of. Breakfast was hot and there was a good variety of items to choose from. We were also impressed with the T.V., the iron and ironing board, and the recycle bin all available in the room. Definitely the best hotel room stay we have had in the Province of Ontario! Many thanks to this Comfort Inn in Guelph for making our weekend stay so special!!
Review 71:Front desk clerk, young shaved head guy, was very rude. Not friendly at all.
Review 72:The lady who managed the kitchen at breakfast did a good job and the breakfast was great! Bed was comfortable and room very clean.
Review 73:Did not like the location as it was close to the Hanlon Parkway although it was quiet. Just found we were in an industrial part of Quelph. But there was a MacDonald's and a Tim Horton's close by. :)
Review 74:Hotel was newly renovated so it was very clean and updated. Staff was helpful and accomodating. Breakfast was good but got very busy as morning went on - no place to sit when we got there.
Review 75:the room smelled so bad of smoke we could taste it, there were no other rooms available so we were stuck. The eggs and sausages were gross.
Review 76:pillows were nice the room was clean, access to rear of building on ground floor was good.We were able to check in before 3 which was convenient.
Review 77:We returned from the wedding around 2am....we were shhhh'd by the Hotel staff stating that all other guests were sleeping. We were quite offended. It's a hotel, not grammas house. Felt scolded like school kids. All we wanted to do was eat our mcdonalds and get some snacks from the vending machine! We had the munchies!! :)))
Review 78:Room was clean and up to date. There was a bit of a funky smell in the room but once we put the air on it seemed to get better. You can't beat the price! We were at a wedding and most other guests were staying just down the road and paid double what we paid.
Review 79:Poor Wi-Fi strength. TV not the best or clearest.
Review 80:Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking was close. Continental Breakfast was nice. This was our third stay over past five years. Was central for what we wished to do.
Review 81:If separate barbecue and patio was fenced off and over in the sun. It would have been used but not very private as it's right outside someone's room
Review 82:Nice clean rooms friendly staff and a good breakfast to start the day I cannot fault this accommodation at all 2 bars in walking distance, crabby joes and kelsies We were over on holiday from UK and could not believe the standard for the price would highly recommend
Review 83:Could not find wifi. If there was wifi we were not informed how to connect to it.
Review 84:The room was clean and comfortable. It was not what I expected. I was very pleasantly surprised.
Review 85:Our bed was rock hard, way too firm. I don't know if when booking the reservation it specified the firmness of the bed in each room. If it did, I missed it. Neither my husband nor I slept well at all. Although the check-in staff was pleasant, the check-out staff was not. He seemed like he just did not want to be there.
Review 86:The complimentary breakfast was incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed receiving 20% at Kelsey's just by showing our hotel room key. The staff at time of check-in was informative and very pleasant.
Review 87:We stayed one night in a standard room and found that the manager (working front desk) was extremely rude and it made the stay very uncomfortable for both of us. I've stayed in many hotels before and i have never had any customer service like this (rude and ignorant). Our plan was to stay two nights at this hotel however being so upset with the service our second night we checked out early and stayed at the super 8 across the street, (they too as well have had people come over to them and have been told the attendants at the comfort inn are rude).
Review 88:The check in was very smooth and me and my boyfriend had no problem at all checking in. The room was okay, beds were very comfortable and the free breakfast was excellent.
Review 89:Nothing
Review 90:Clean rooms, flat screen TV huge, quiet, breakfast buffet style excellent and ample, beds extremely comfortable, 4 pillows to choose from, perfect in every way not your average comfort Inn oustanding. Best price and best place to stay in Guelph less than a minute from Highway 6
Review 91:Nothing really it was ok

Review 93:Nicely redone, great price, breakfast was included.

Review 103:Nothing to say
