Reviews for Langley Hwy Hotel
Review 1:The room smelled bad. There were hairs in the tub. The carpet wasn't clean. Paper thin walls, could hear spousal distrubance. Just about called the police.
Review 2:Old and not taken care of over the years, first room super stinky like smoke. Pool more like a swamp and a 30$deposit over cost of room. But not even anything to damage.
Review 3:Good location and attached pub, nice green spaces surrounding hotel, pet friendly and good parking
Review 4:Generally - the motel is downtrodden - the pool equipment is dreadful - one would not want to sit at any outdoor table. The rooms are ill equipped - bathtub plug wasn't even the right one for the tub.
Review 5:The people were good. We felt they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and supply us with ice when the ratty old ice machine in the lean-to didn't work. They were very good!!!!
Review 6:First room was very smelly. Changed rooms... better. They rent rooms to long term tenants so felt more like run down welfare apartment building than hotel/motel. TV didn't work. WiFi didnt work. Light bulbs burned out on vanity. Its too bad cause locations is good.... price is good... building is descent.
Review 7:Staff was accommodating. They tryed their best.
Review 8:If you want to experience dirty facilities & to see bed bug this is the place to stay! Sorry but this place need total transformation just an honest opinion.
Review 9:Hard to find, not much signage. Location is second building off ofmain road way.* Could have been a wee bit cheaper for the age of facility and old thin towels.
Review 10:Proximity close to where I needed to be for business purpose. Steps awayfrom grab & go food sources.
Review 11:The first room was gross, bed linen had old washed blood. Bathroom was filthy, crumbs left on top of the little fridge. Just gross. Then they gave me a new room that was a little bit better.
Review 12:It's location to where I had to be
Review 13:Pool wasn't clean. Reception seemed to have no idea about anything. Ice machine broken. Nothing to sit on in rooms except the bed. No glasses or even disposable cups in room. Air con was old.
Review 14:Room cleanliness 6 out of 10.
Review 15:Towels and bed were dirty. Bathtub was leaking water. They said they will provide breakfast but it turned out nothing. Just said "we change our policy." No hot drinking water and no coffee maker.
Review 16:only location.
Review 17:We were there for eight days the maid cleaned the room once and changed the towels twice! There is no breakfast as advertised and the building is full of shady characters who "live" there!
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:I was given a room in which the washroom was reeking of urine. There were no glasses bot even paper glasses in the room nor any tea coffee sugar nothing at all. I went to the Manager and asked for another room as no one could stay in that room reeking of urine. He changed my room in the other room there was everything paper glasses coffee maker coffee tea sugar.
Review 20:The hotel is right by HWY 1 and a lot of shops around which makes is attractive in term of pricing compare to other hotels in Vancouver. It is clean, quite and discreet.
Review 21:Everything. No internet access for first 2 days. Lady at the reception said; "im sorry there are so many people and everybody is using i. You have to try to connect later when people will be sleeping." We tried when they were sleeping and they were awoken. NOTHING. We did not have even room service. We had to ask so we had our towels (dirty) delivered. It is motel not HOTEL. I would never go there back
Review 22:As soon as we opened the door, the first thing we got was a wet dirty dog smell. It was really bad. In the bathroom there is no exhaust ventilation fan, the tub drainage was plugged. Internet connection didn't work for our iPad and iPhone.
Review 23:The pool. Complementary breakfast.
Review 24:They didn't offer free WiFi, there were only two towels in the room, there were only two pillows on the bed with no extras available, and the air conditioning unit was ancient. It didn't work worth a damn and was really noisy. Plus, there seemed to be a lot of shady low income renters there hanging around.
Review 25:The location was close to the freeway, restaurants and entertainment.
Review 26:I believe they were lacking staff for cleaning. There were no rooms cleaned and available at 4:00 p.m,.
Review 27:The room had been renovated and was very neat.
Review 28:Front desk staff didn't have a clue what they were doing, took at least an hour to get us checked in to our room! The room was in very poor condition. The property didn't feel safe. No blow dryer in room, so sent me in to another room to use one. Sent me to a dirty room instead of one that wasn't used! Offer continental breakfast but there was nothing there but some cheerios and cornflakes! Defiantly not worth what we paid!!
Review 29:Nothing!!
Review 30:Horribly filthy. I don't mind a dated hotel which this was, as long as it is clean, which it was not. I don't want to know what the black stuff smeared on the walls and floors was. We had to go out and buy towels because the ones provided were unusable. We did not take off our shoes in the room.
Review 31:Inexpensive
Review 32:The grounds were dirty and unkempt. The room was not bad but a little bleach would go a long way to eliminating mould in the tub area. The sink surround was dirty. It looked like no one cared much for presentation. It is a property that would be easy to improve if anyone wanted to look at the details.
Review 33:It was cheap and the location was good for what we were looking for.
Review 34:Room needs to be freshened. Very sour odour when I entered.
Review 35:Wifi
Review 36:People very friendly
Review 37:The bed, bed linens; there are some wholes on them some are from cigarette I guess. We couln't connect at the wifi.
Review 38:The staff were welcoming.
Review 39:The room smelled and had to be aired out. No glasses. The door pass/key didn't work properly.
Review 40:The staff was friendly.
Review 41:close to everything i needed to go to. economically priced
Review 42:Wifi didn't work in anywhere. Was given no password for it. Bathroom was filthy, blood behind the toilet, bit of blood on the carpet as well.
Review 43:Very disappointed with everything.
Review 44:Bed was comfortable but the duvet cover was not done properly. There was little smell in the room.
Review 45:The sheets and towels where dirty
Review 46:dude didnt seem ready to deal with my on line booking. took 25 minutes to get registered.
Review 47:EXTREMELY DIRTY
Review 48:Needed more pillows, towels and long chairs by the pool
Review 49:The pool, location, pub and quick
Review 50:Needs wall plugs for charging phones, etc. Beds weren't made for the 2nd night.
Review 51:Staff are friendly and helpful. Convenient location.
Review 52:too many stairs
Review 53:It is run down and the bathroom tub would not stop leaking,
Review 54:Clean and quiet Free cereal and toast for breakfast with tea or coffee
Review 55:everything other than location
Review 56:Location
Review 57:Nice staff. Nice room. No problems.
Review 58:Our room was filthy and there was left over coffee in the coffe maker. Towels were not clean and the room was not clean at all. If I didn't have to stay there I wouldn't have and will not be staying again.
Review 59:Not too clean, but passable. Worst was beds (hard) and pillows (hard, flat and stained) and pillow cases (stained). Had to use towel to cover (which was thin and old too).
Review 60:You get what you pay for - cost was low; establishment was lower end.
Review 61:Didnt bring me fresh towels every day and taking out the garbage and cleaning my room.
Review 62:That i was close to everything, how good the price was for the room, and how flexiable they were on how long i stayed for.
Review 63:The room was a little small but not big deal.
Review 64:The location and the professionalism of the staff especially Amy at the reception. The fact they accept dogs.
Review 65:The towels were disgusting, either dirty or stained. I would not evenuse them. This unfortunately left me wondering about the bedding etc.
Review 66:Price and location were good.
Review 67:Could tell the room used to be smoked in.
Review 68:Very convenient to my meeting. Friendly woman at check in counter. When I asked front desk to deal with loud guests late at night, they responded immediately.
Review 69:The room was unclean. The pool was shut down and unusable for the 3 days we stayed. The room was very small. The ac was old and did not work properly.
Review 70:It was well located.
Review 71:Outside hallways and stairs to rooms could have been cleaner.
Review 72:Clean, comfortable room in a good location at a good price. Breakfast very basic but good.
Review 73:Everything!!!! The rooms were filthy and the poor maids probably had to desanitize themselves after leaving work their. If you are a truck driver, or from the "wrong side of the tracks" then i am sure you won't mind it. But if you are a clean nice family DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT stay here. I got fooled by the outdoor pool. Which looked lovely but super small. If you want to take a risk and swim with drunk people and people who i can only assume were on drugs then go for it. We however checked out after switching rooms twice. Nice staff, but that hotel was so yucky i would have rather slept outside!
Review 74:- Non-smoking room smelled like old smoke. - Room had no bath plug or shower curtain (this was eventually fixed - but the first plug they provided didn't work & I had to go down again). - Room had no "do not disturb" sign and I was awakened by hammering on door first morning, and second morning staff attempted to come in (while i was still in bed) without knocking! - TV remote worked 15% of the time, TV buttons worked 80% of the time (frustrating). - Limited TV channels. - Had to dance around to find a WiFi signal.
Review 75:- Afternoon/evening staff (gent) very friendly, and helpful. - Close to Colossus cinema. - One quick bus (or short drive) to Fort Langley. - Easy to get there by transit. - Cheap. - Close to restaurants (lots of chains, from McD to Keg/Montana's etc.).
Review 76:We got there and they didnt have the reservation which we booked less then an hour prior. The we had to settle for a room with two beds instead of queen then ontop we had to wait a half hour before we could get into our room so they could clean the room
Review 77:The room was a decent size up to date coffee maker flat screen tv lots of privacy employees were friendly and were okay with us checking out an hour late
Review 78:Forget all valuations on booking.com, older then 3 month. This formerrundown Travelodge has been taken over by a Chines-Canadian late 2012and was completly remodelled and renovated since then. Like allChinese owned Motels I have been to so far in Canada, the place now issilver-clean, operator and staff are extremly friendly and rooms arecomfy with new beds, large flatscreens, well working free wifi, newestmodel coffee maker, fridge, new silent aircon. Rooms now have a top-notch 3 star appeal. Location of the Motel is excellent, close towhatever you might need during a journey (multiple restaurant optionswithin walking distance, liquer store next door), yet a bit back fromthe highway so it´s quiet. Yet if you are there on a weekend (thursdayto saturday), ask for a room to the pool or to the backside as thefront row may get some noise from a pub up front, having life musicevents on weekend nights.
Review 79:The paltry free breakfast, the noise of the pub in front of the property, the unwillingness of the graveyard employee to help with a screaming, abandoned child in the room next door at 3:30 a.m.
Review 80:The price
Review 81:I really liked the friendly and professional staff! When I asked for help with directions to two different locationis the girl was really helpful in pulling up directions from the computer and printing it off and then explaining them to us! Holly was another amazing desk clerk! Very cheerful and helpful! The night manager was fantasric! I would deffinatley recomend and go back to this lovely hotel! It 's too bad that it is called the Hwy Hotel, as that might scare off visitors from booking in. Please don't let that scare you away. It has a lovely pool and over half of the roooms face it as well as the lovely western exposure for the afeternoon and eveing. You also get a lovely view of Grouse Mountain from the top floor! It was really pretty. I loved how when I first pulled up and you are surrounded by beautiful trees and tall hedges! I felt like I had come home!
Review 82:Breakfast is only from 6:30am-9:00am. It was a leisure stay, so I usually prefer breakfast between 9-11am. So I missed breakfast.
Review 83:Good value. Clean rooms & nice staff.
Review 84:Really bad tv signal - snow on every channel and limited channelsCramped rooms. Poor Wifi Signal
Review 85:Location is good Breakfast included coffee/cereal/ toast worksfor me, but be there early they don't re-load. Dog friendly roomsavailable. New owners no-longer Travellodge more likely for better priceQuiet and a pub in the parking lot where food is ok Friendly staff
Review 86:room was filthy. open shampoo. not enough towels. free breakfast? what free breakfast. cereal,no milk,no coffee. not enough coffee in room. broken and dirty air conditioner.
Review 87:The room was to hot and the air conditioner was to noisy and placedbehind the curtains which did nothing nothing to drop temp of room( tempcontol panel on the wall would make alot more sense).... The shower hadlittle if any water pressure.... Also I dont see how you can change thename not make any changes(ie cable tv) and jack up the rates by 30-50%... probably wont stay again for awhile to see if you are going tomake any changes and the maybe try again in 6 months
Review 88:it's quite old and could use a face lift
Review 89:good if travelling on a budget, close to the freeway but quiet, close to restaurants and take out, and it had a mini fridge and microwave
Review 90:We were there twice in one week. The rooms have a musty smell whichpermeates into your clothing. Cleanliness is lacking. Plug ins didn'twork in the one room. When I tried to use the phone to call the frontdesk they didn't work either. Only reason we stayed there was because itwas close to where we had to be. I would not choose this hotel again. Tvdidn't work in second room. So overall?? We were not impressed. Theplace needs some major tlc!
Review 91:If you're going to stay here in the DAYTIME, it would be dull (for very active people), since you have no good sceneries or a good view.
Review 92:Good value for money. If you're looking for a good place to stay your nights (and you're going to travel in the daytime), this is a perfect place. This is a calm location, since it is about 150m away from the road.
Review 93:There was a gap under the door large enough for any creepy-crawler tocome in. The tv did not work. The room was very out-dated and furnitureneeds to be replaced. The toilet did not flush properly.
Review 94:The only negative would be that the hotel is old and could use someserious upgrades new tubes toilets etc.in defence of that statement therooms were very clean
Review 95:We especially liked that the hotel was so conviently located to ourbusiness destinations & the pub next door had good food and drinks
Review 96:there seemed to be confusion about which room we were to have..at first we were given keys to a room that was already occupied which was embarrassing...then we were given a room that was not properly cleaned...then we were given a room which was adequate, but on the second day the door key didn't work.
Review 97:the staff were friendly
Review 98:Room superficially clean but when I moved bed side table looked like it hadn't been cleaned behind there for some time.
Review 99:Location. Decent room and breakfast for cheap price. Helpful staff
Review 100:We were going to a surprise 60th Birthday party so we were withinwalking distance but we were very very disappointed. We have stayed inseveral Travelodges but this was the worst. It was dirty, in great needof renovating and the phone jack was half pulled out of the wall. Itried to book a wake-up call for the next morning and the phoneobviously wasn't working (11:15 pm) so I walked to the office and it wasclosed for the evening. The alarm clock in the room was so complicted, neither my husband and I couldn't set it. We hardly slept because wethought we were going to miss our booked ferry ride the next morning.Very upsetting. The next morning at check-out, I mentioned this to theclerk and he said the whole building and "no phones!" Why wasn't I toldthis at check in????? Elfi Eades
Review 101:Nothin.....very very dissapointed
Review 102:The room had a damp and moldy smell. Air condition was noisy.
Review 103:Very convenient. Near to stores and food outlets. Great for a one night stop over.
Review 104:The room was cold. Cigarette ashes on the bed. Torn curtains, uneven door closure. Wild domestic dispute in the room behind me.
Review 105:breakfast was brief, but at least there was a breakfast
Review 106:clean, warm, comfortable bed, relatively inexpensive
Review 107:The staff was extremely rude .the rooms were very dirty. would not stay here again!
Review 108:Good price comfortable bed.
Review 109:No complaints
Review 110:Friendly, accommodating staff
Review 111:Everything fits in the budget idea. If one wants luxury, this isn't the place.
Review 112:Good location, for my purposes. Close to many facilities.
Review 113:Comfortable. Quiet. Close to all the facilities I need.
Review 114:quiet, clean
Review 115:Sheets felt like sandpaper
Review 116:Clean room
