Reviews for The Waterloo Hotel
Review 1:The 8 dollars breakfast coupon does not take you that far in the cafés where you can have your breakfast, but the 3 spots were quite nice though.
Review 2:Nice location, lovely big room with a fireplace and a nicely decorated, friendly staff.
Review 3:The reservation said "Breakfast is included in the room rate", but in reality you get 8$ coupons valid for three nearby restaurants. One should be told at the time of the reservation that breakfast is not served on the premises. Fridge in the room very noisy.
Review 4:Location perfect. Bed comfortable. Staff (except for the owner) helpful.
Review 5:No tea in the room, no slippers. Not particularly clean (hair in the bathroom). Not the quality you expect for the value.
Review 6:The old furniture and the general ambiance, the friendly staff
Review 7:-no elevator--and no rooms on ground floor--at least 2 flights of stairs to the rooms -room hot even though air conditioning on--no individual control of A/C -TV didn't work correctly
Review 8:-love the history and antiques -felt like sleeping in a museum -staff accommodating to needs -right in centre of downtown -close to Laurier University -rooms large--lots of living space
Review 9:There is no elevator, and no first floor rooms. There is no place in the hotel itself to eat.
Review 10:The rooms are huge, and very inviting. A sitting area with 2 comfy chairs in each room, filled with lovely antique furniture and fireplaces. The staff were very nice, and helpful. They carried our luggage up the stairs. Lots of nice restaurants within walking distance and a five minute drive to the St Jacobs shopping area. We received a voucher for breakfast from the hotel valid at several different cafes within walking distance.
Review 11:I know it's likely the going rate but $180/night was out of myusual price range (there were no rooms available at the Bed andBreakfast where I usually stay though). I booked the Deluxe Queen room(same as the non-deluxe price) because it came with a fridge, coffeemaker and I thought it had advertised a microwave, which sadly it didnot have. I was still able to save some money by using the fridge andcoffee maker. However. There are a lot of really good places nearby toget coffee so I likely could have saved more money if I didn't visitdvlb, Honey Bake Shop and The Princess Theatre Cafe.
Review 12:Comfortable and well-located to interesting places on King Street
Review 13:Nothing. We'll use you again for a family wedding in August!
Review 14:The convenient location of the hotel. We were able to walk to the venue where our family event took place We loved the fact that there were 3 venues offered for breakfast
Review 15:Fire goes out when room temp is lower. Also views ate not nice
Review 16:Loved the idea of different themed rooms with high ceilings and fireplaces
Review 17:Perfect location in the heart of Waterloo. No shortage of space. Room had tasteful décor. Excellent dollar value.
Review 18:Lovely hotel in downtown Waterloo. It has been tastefully renovated with furnishings appropriate to its long history.
Review 19:This is a well run hotel in the old fashioned way. The rooms even have keys.....great
Review 20:Voucher for breakfast
Review 21:Location and bed
Review 22:Too expensive for the quality you receive. Outdated room and television reception very poor.
Review 23:Good service
Review 24:Parking /small TV whater preSsure
Review 25:Uniqueness
Review 26:small room for the money, not very clean and the water was brown
Review 27:close to where we were going
Review 28:the air conditioner was very noisy.
Review 29:The hotel is lovely - a historic gem - and the rooms are spacious and appealing. Staff very helpful.
Review 30:Room was very dark as half the light bulbs were burnt out.
Review 31:Friendly staff, cool room and good location.
Review 32:The smell of curry from the attached restaurant, it kept me awake most of the night.
Review 33:All the antiques. The rooms were beautiful.
Review 34:Bathroom in "the Golf Room" is awfully dark!
Review 35:The staff was wonderfully accommodating. I arrived very early and the staff went out of their way to get my room ready quickly. Then there had been some confusion about the booking (not the hotel's fault), which the staff quickly and effectively dealt with.
Review 36:3 flights of stairs, no elevator - not pointed out in the literature or website Poorly signed - hard to find at night
