Opened in December 2012, this luxurious 5-star hotel in Gstaad was built in elegant Swiss Alpine style, featuring natural materials like marble, sandstone and aged wood. The Alpina Gstaad features 3 restaurants and its own movie theater.
The unique rooms and suites all have balconies with mountain views and marble bathrooms with a flat-screen TV, luxurious toiletries, slippers and bathrobes. Some suites also feature an open fireplace and an iPad for guests to use during their stay.
Restaurants include the Megu that serves Japanese cuisine. Guests can enjoy their dinner overlooking the Bernese Alps, and relax in the wine bar or in the Havana-inspired cigar lounge. Special occasions are celebrated in the ballroom.
The Six Senses Spa can be used for free by guests and features holistic treatments, an indoor and heated outdoor pool, a fitness room, and a relaxation area. Wi-Fi, wired internet access and covered parking are free of charge in the entire property.
A shuttle service to and from Gstaad Train Station is provided. The center of Gstaad is a 5 minute walk, and the next cable car station is a 5 minute drive away. Montreux is 25 miles away.

Review 1：Breakfast area with food in the morning in my oppinion is to small and get easily crowded. Would recommend to move it to room next/ you might be doing this already when you have more guests.

Review 5：Comfortable furnishings. Elegantly rustic. Loved the throw blanket on the chair in the room. Sometimes staff can be stuffy in a five star plus hotel. But the staff at the Alpina were very warm and welcoming and still very professional.

Review 6：The Alpina Gstaad was just what I needed after 3 grueling weeks of stressful work. My husband treated me to a stay here as a special getaway and it lived up to its billing. The staff, the food, the amenities, the room -- so worth every franc we spent.

Review 7：The main restaurant miss charged the bottle of waters we drink. After the first bottle, the waiter fill our glass with used bottle that is nearly empty and charged us four bottle at end. We didn't complain but didn't left tips at end. I am not sure if the manager noticed it and bring us bottles of water before we left. But we didn't mind too much because we asked to split salad in half but they only split the meat in salad and gave us two portion of lettuce. Thus they are not doing job perfect but they do provide excellent service. I ordered hot chocolate at breakfast and received the worse in my one month five star hotel stay. It is horrible and tasteless. Maybe its due the business in the morning. The sweetener is not satisfactory. It may give real sugar like but its not as sweet as others. So I went to coop and get some for my use. I don't believe this hotel will cut at this tiny bit detail. Maybe the manager has never experience our need and the taste and hope he will never will. So far the unsatisfactory are not complains. Its not an issue at other places. Since this hotel set its standard so high, it make these tiny edge out standing than it should be. I still give two thumbs up.

Review 8：Fantastic, superb, excellent, wonderful. Four season at Geneva is still my best choice if I can only stay at one hotel in swiss. But gstaad alpina is next on the list. It's new, the hotel design and implementation really did an excellent job. Every detail is in place. The quality of detail is there. You not only see a good looking hotel, but you will feel the quality as well. For example, they put a nice blanket on a relax chair in bed room in case your feet is cold or of you open the window to let cold air flow in. The balcony is roomy and well done. There is a couch to lie your leg, there is a small but useful take and two comfortable chair. You can smoke, have a drink and really enjoy fresh air there. The floor on balcony is absolutely clean. The soap, lotion, clean kits all at high end quality. You will feel absolutely luxury and the hotel did not cut expense at any angle. You get more than you spend there. The spa is well though and comfortable. Yes it's still few steps away from four season even they got bigger size facility but its at top quality with no doubt. The lunge bar is nice, the restaurant is excellent. The food is tasty and health. One star restaurant and beats two star Annie Sophie-pic restaurant at Lausanne beau-revauge hotel by far and less expensive. The lettuce is fresh and tastety. The manager waits at check out to listen for opinion. They also provide water and drop to take care your journey. The shops are good place to make up missing items if you left paris too soon.

Review 10：Discreet and beautiful location especially considering the proximity to the Centre of Gstaad. Super comfortable beds and high standard of equipment in the room. Relaxed and uncrowded atmosphere with a small number of guests. Very extensive spa facilities.

Travelling with young children to this place is comfort like you are home. Would definitely love to go back there again!!

Review 47：- The customer service is extremely perfect from the time we reach the hotel till we left, when we reached the guy in the parking was waiting for us with our name and room number, the reception girl didnt took any grantee money from us and when we left we found in our car small bag with water in our car- once they knew we are in our honeymoon they upgrade us and did nice decoration with flower in bed - the food quality was high and the breakfast was perfect - the staff were very helpful and smilling all time from the concirage to the lady in the resturant - they make our honeymoon perfect and they make our visit to gstaad like dream I cant wait to go back again

Review 48：Design, materials, attention to details, personal service, views, "digital home" tech... everything really - no need to make lists. The Alpina is the true five star hotel/resort among the vast majority that claim same accolades but either fall short or remain stuck in the past century.

Review 49：We wanted to book a junior suit but when we arrived to the hotel, theysaid there are non available. Therefore on booking.com there was oneavailable so I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights in total they was supposed tobe 4200smth for but later on we liked the place so much and decided toextend the check out for one more day;) Guess what? When I checked outthe rates for a last day where hotel's rates (1.350 per night notthe booking.com) so at the end I payed 10k for accomodation. At the timewe went there spa was fully booked.

Review 50：Everything in the hotel! How it's made, the open pool, hospitalityof the staff, ski shop in the hotel and many more... We traveled with adog so the staff of the hotel provided us with fur for dog due to coldin Gstaad. Some plates for a doggy food and a little bed. It isfantastic, beautiful and very comfy.
