Reviews for Hotel Alphorn
Review 1:Getting a car park space was tricky as hotel was so busy !
Review 2:A family style small hotel , very nice ! All staff including the lady general manager very helpful , polite and professional !! The room very spacious , bed was great !! Breakfast buffet so much too chose from ! Overall excellent ! Just sad I did not get to use the small spa area sauna etc !
Review 3:The price, for Gstaad is pretty amazing. They serve possibly the best steak I/we've eaten in the 10 years we've lived in Europe. Breakfast was fantastic and it comes with free wifi as a guess.
Review 4:Maio é baixa temporada...quase todas as lojas estao fechadas, hoteis vazios, montanhas com neve e flores no auge.
Review 5:Hotel bom , wifi excelente, elevador , estacionamento gratuito, quartos grandes, vista com sacada.
Review 6:Gstaad in off season has few places to eat and drink; this is a good one. Staff are great. The rooms are good for the price, clean and comfy. Food is simple and decent.
Review 7:Staff were very helpful and friendly. Located just next to the ski lifts of Eggli and Wispile. Sannenmoser can be accessed by free bus and train or a short drive. The hotel restaurant is very good and great value. Room was very comfortable.
Review 8:Wifi didn't work in our room or in the breakfast room. This was disappointing. Had to clear work emails standing in the corridor near my room and had to delay departure in morning until work completed from reception. I was hoping to do this work over breakfast.
Review 9:Loved being so close to the skifield
Review 10:Not much. Really quite happy, very good price to quality.
Review 11:Charming Swiss rooms and chalet feeling vs bland Gstaad hotels. Food price / quality excellent.
Review 12:Elevator didn't go all the way up to our floor, making baggage handling a bit difficult. Location was a 20-min walk from center, inconvenient when raining.
Review 13:Hotel manager was VERY helpful, looking up bus schedule soon after we arrived, and prices for the Gstaad 3000 attraction for us. Set up the steam room and whirlpool for us later that night. From the restaurant, she gave us a few ingredients for us to cook with in our suite. The free breakfast offered a pretty good selection. We had a four-person suite which had a great view and was spacious, with a balcony.
Review 14:We had a room with a balcony which was nice but was over the bar and restaurant so was very noisy the 1st night especially as it was so hot that we needed the windows and door open. However we were moved to the back of the hotel with no balcony but a better view and very quiet so best to ask for this if you like a quiet room.
Review 15:Location and rooms were excellent and the food good.
Review 16:The hotel is in a great location.
Review 17:Nothing to fault - perfectly good value for money
Review 18:Good location , great staff
Review 19:We were allocated a lovely room. The hotel is near enough to the concert hall to walk there and back.
Review 20:Location and room were perfect for family with children (12 and 10)
Review 21:Relatively long walk to Gataad center.
Review 22:The pillows!!
Review 23:Everything. Hotel was excellent
Review 24:Front-desk disappearing act, as noted by others. Bed vaguely uncomfortable.
Review 25:Value, followed by location. Staff friendly and competent enough. Decent breakfast.
Review 26:Hairdryer needs to be cleaned.
Review 27:Amazing location at the bottom of two lifts, wonderful mountain views, friendly staff, bus stop nearby, walking distance to the Langlauf Loipe, good breakfast, large room, amazing sauna. We really loved our stay in the hotel! Thanks team!
Review 28:The area we liked the most for skiing was Saanenmöser and to go there was a train every hour, but in the end the taxi was not too expensive.
Review 29:The rooms where nice, clean and a lot of space. It was a room for 4 on 2 floors with a toilet on each floor.
Review 30:Limited choice for breakfast. Wi-fi isn't free. Interior is a bit worn
Review 31:The hotel is just at the foot of the slope & is 10 min walk from the city center & the railway station. The rooms are clean & spacious.
Review 32:Not very happy with the breakfast. No sausages, no bacon. Quite poor overall. There are a lot of things the Hotel may add in order to make it better.
Review 33:Beautiful hotel minutes away from the center of the village. Cosy rooms with all the facilities needed for your stay in Gstaad. Very happy overall!
Review 34:Bathroom window facing the slopes only had some lace, not a proper curtain.
Review 35:Right on the slopes - you can see them from the window. Ski rental shop also has everything you need. Pleasant staff, good breakfast, nice restaurant/pub. Fantastic value for money.
Review 36:The room was dusty. The toilet was dirty. The rooms are noisy. There was a smell of frying grease all over the rooms and corridors. The hotel safe in the room did not work. The room was too basic for the price.
Review 37:The staff were very friendly and the location is perfect for skiers. The breakfast was acceptable.
Review 38:The hotel smelled of cigarette smoke, you couldn't get away from the smokers. Being a ski resort, it smelled a little musty (from wet carpet in winter). Gstaad is expensive for shopping & eating.
Review 39:Walking distance to the shopping district and the cable car up to Wispile. The staff were all friendly & helpful.
Review 40:The location was ideal as the cable-car was just up the road and the centre of Gstaad was not far in the opposite direction. There were lots of well sign-posted hiking trails around the town. I particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening as the sun went down.If I visit Gstaad again in the future I will definitely be looking to stay here again.
Review 41:The smokers room door was propped open all the time so corridors smelt of smoke.
Review 42:Lovely food, friendly staff and a great 2 floor room with separate area for the kids.
Review 43:Breakfast staff was not friendly Not a very welcoming athmosphere overall
Review 44:great location. five minutes walk from Gstaad and at the bottom of one of the ski lift. Clean room, nice facilities. Nice breakfast We had an issue with the bed which meant that we didn't sleep well on our first night but the hotel manager changed our room instantly to accomodate ourselves
Review 45:Leaving- wish we had booked a longer stay!
Review 46:What a delightful find! The young woman who runs the hotel was a gracious and attentive hostess. We stayed in the two story "Heidi Suite" complete with charming handpainted 4 poster bed, matching furniture, sitting area, soaking tub plus another bedroom and bath in the upstairs loft. We enjoyed sitting on the spacious view balcony in the sun watching the skiers. Lively attached bar and restaurant with very good food. Friendly multi-lingual locals. Walking distance to train station and pedestrian area with bus service and ski bus also available. Good breakfast, too.
Review 47:Sauna was not up to standards as it was too dry, wood material has started to leak and air ventilation was not good. Also the shower in sauna room did not work - boiling hot or too cold water.
Review 48:Good location. Very nice cottage style house. All rooms have balcony.
Review 49:The isolation between the rooms were very limited, so one experiencedsome noise from neighbors both on your floor and the floor above.
Review 50:I visited Hotel Alphorn as a ski bum, and to that purpose the hotel wasexcellent! The breakfast was noting fancy, but were suitable for skiersand families with small children. Not a great location for nightlife,Gstaad city is roughly 10-15 minutes away.
Review 51:We were so happy to spend a few days in the hotel Alphorn to celebrate New Year . This hotel is very well located and cosy, stuff is so friendly, nice food in a restarant. We had a beautiful spacious room, loft style with mountain view, easy access to the pistes and centre of village. We would recommend this hotel to anybody, we had just an amazing time there, good value for money.
Review 52:Warm and friendly hospitality
Review 53:The proximity of the hotel to the promenade Awesome staff, good food, fantastic view. supportive staff, helful guidance for tourists
Review 54:The bed wasn't the most comfortable
Review 55:the staff was very kind and helpful, the views, the value
Review 56:Very warm and helpful proprietor and perfect location!
Review 57:Exceptional service.
Review 58:Did not change sheets even when there was visible dirt
Review 59:Great breakfast- lots of variety and great taste!
Review 60:The food
Review 61:Grumpy unhelpful owner. Cigarette smoke smell everywhere. Smallest boot room ever.
Review 62:Food in restaurant was good.
Review 63:Rather expensive, but most things are in Switzerland
Review 64:I liked that it was on the snow field, right next to the chair lift, ski rentals and ski school
Review 65:The hotel is a little walk out of town but I liked that and it is great to look out on meadows and to hear the tinkle of cow bells.
Review 66:Cleanliness, very good service, excellent value for money
Review 67:Cleanliness, wonderful setting, the feeling of being treated as part of the family by the owner/staff - I will always come back with pleasure.
Review 68:- Extra charge to use whirlpool and sauna
Review 69:- Good breakfast- Big parking lot - Walking distance to city center - Spacious rooms - Friendly staff
Review 70:The room was not cleaned with Limited wifi connection. Doesn't like gstaad as a skiing area as general.
Review 71:Good price and close to the ski area
Review 72:Good staff location value
Review 73:Beautiful setting, friendly staff
Review 74:nice
Review 75:friendly and helpful staff. good food
Review 76:The spa facilities were misleading. Value for money was not good. I wish I had paid a tiny bit more and stayed in a much better hotel.
