Reviews for Sleepy Hollow B&B
Review 1:The bed was extremely uncomfortable and in need of a mattress/pillow update. The dust in the home (purely due to age) killed my husband's allergies. The hosts were not overly warm/welcoming. We didn't even learn their names as they did not introduce themselves.
Review 2:The old home was beautiful.
Review 3:The conversation at breakfast with other travelers from Canada and France. We enjoyed a leisurely meal together, and felt welcome and pampered. Our room was like a little piece of heaven.
Review 4:The décor of the traditional old house may not be to everyone's taste.
Review 5:We stayed here one night on our way to Toronto and really enjoyed our stay in this unique traditional-style B&B. Don and Marion are welcoming hosts who are more than happy to recommend restaurants and activities. Due to the short nature of our stay we were only able to try the Italian restaurant Riva and the local brewery, but both were well worth going to. The room itself was nicely decorated and clean with a very comfortable bed. Last but not least the homemade fresh breakfast was absolutely delicious.
Review 6:No complaints.
Review 7:Although the room was on the third floor, it was worth the climb. The decor maintained the character of the home, but reflected the style of the 21st century which made it much easier on the eyes than the Victorian style heavy wallpapers we have seen in other historic B & B's. We also appreciated being able to choose what we wanted for breakfast .
Review 8:Bath tub out of action but shower fine. Unaware no TV but didn't matter for one night.
Review 9:Beautiful old building with lots of charm and interesting artefacts and helpful owners.
Review 10:No tv but it didn't matter really as we had Ipad.
Review 11:Comfortable, made to feel at home, gracious hosts, sweets and home made cookies everywhere, fabulous breakfasts. Located near two fab restaurants and the Gananoque thousand Island cruise line. A lovely porch to sit in and 2 wine glasses and a corkscrew!
Review 12:The only "negative" point was that the hallway was too cold, and cooling system was running all night long. Was not really necessary. But temperature in the room was ok.
Review 13:Spacious and confortable room. Breakfast was wonderful (and abundant!!) 1000 Island Cruise 5 min walking distance.
Review 14:We took a bit of a detour to come here, but it was well worth it. We are only sorry we couldn't stay longer to really take it all in; beautiful décor - it was like stepping into a glamourous 1930s film. Highly atmospheric, the house almost vibrates with stories.
Review 15:A very minor negative was that there was no tv in a common area for the guests should they wish to relax by watching after a busy day of sight seeing.
Review 16:Sleepy Hollow is a beautiful old building which the owners have restored and decorated very nicely. The property is within walking distance to the water, shops, restaurants.
