Reviews for Brigantine Inn

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:The Brigantine Inn is ideally located right in the middle of down town by the harbour right across from the Bluenose II mooring. The rooms are very nice, clean and most have a good view of the harbour. There is even a very good restaurant right downstairs called the Grand Banker Seafood Bar and Grill..

Review 3:trying to find a parking spot but understandable in a small town on the water.

Review 4:The rooms were very nice, quiet, wonderful views and so comfortable. The location across from the harbor was magnificent.

Review 5:Stayed here twice this summer! Find it a bit expensive..and disappointed we could not get our caa discount because we used booking.com...but otherwise...we love it! Can't wait for next year!

Review 6:Unhelpful on phone when called about change in reservation. Bartender seemed more interested in talking to coworker and filling bar supplies than waiting on patrons.

Review 7:Great location on major corner but quiets down in the evening for a good night's rest.

Review 8:It was an old building, lots of character, great view, in the midst of all we wanted, quiet, and great staff. We had two desserts that were top notch!

Review 9:Be forewarned: This is an older building; plumbing from other rooms is very noisy. Bring earplugs and close the door to your own bathroom to muffle sound if you like to sleep past 6 am. Also, delivery trucks started very early right under our window. A/C was inadequate; basically a noisy fan.

Review 10:We were very pleasantly surprised by the resturant. The room was clean, comfy and awesome! The staff were friendly, accommodating, and we would return to the Inn and the resturant in a heart beat! We thouroully enjoyed the bar tender, Janice, such a pleasure.

Review 11:Hallway hot ! Had to go to bar to pay server acted inconvenienced, passed me off to another employee. No elevator was issue for my spouse

Review 12:Location good

Review 13:Nothing!

Review 14:The staff, from the housekeeper to the owner/manager were all incredibly friendly and helpful. We were very happy with our Annex suite and the location.

Review 15:We had to go elsewhere for our breakfast when we checked out at 8:00 a.m. Some kind of breakfast would have been very convenient if it were available on the premises. The Grand Banker doesn't open until 11:00 a.m.!!! Checkout is at 10:00 a.m. We went 2 doors down to Dockside for our breakfast but I do like to have a breakfast included in the cost of my room, on site. A "continental breakfast" (fresh rolls, jam and hot coffee/tea) would have been quite suitable. I'm NOT really complaining (it was a minor thing) but I just wanted to give you my opinion....isn't that what you asked for?? Thank you.

Review 16:It was great for what we needed and the location and distance were excellent for the wedding we attended on the wharf.

Review 17:No parking available. We were hauling a trailer and no suitable parking.

Review 18:Rooms were very clean, staff were very friendly. Great place to eat downstairs.

Review 19:Rooms were too warm on a hot day. They did have a fan. This is a 3 story inn with steep stairs so a little difficult for seniors.

Review 20:This is a comfortable inn with gracious host, very nice hot breakfast and nice location.

Review 21:The room is tiny. You need to go in the restaurant to check in when all staff is busy to serve food. You need to find a spot in the street for parking but is not easy and close to the room.

Review 22:It's a good location

Review 23:We were in the annex across the street. Staff did not direct us well so had trouble finding. No numbers on doors inside so wasn't sure we were in right place!

Review 24:Had apartment in Annex across the street from Inn. Location was great as able to walk to everything. View of water and Bluenose 2 from window. Nice sitting area for family. Housed 4 comfortably. Nice restaurants and shopping in town. Clean.

Review 25:No breakfast included, at the price paid would be nice to have a breakfast or maybe a voucher for one in nearby restaurant.

Review 26:The site was great, easy to check in from the restaurant, great location and Lunenberg is a wonderful little place, would recommend this place.

Review 27:We had a wonderful experience in the "castle pictou" room which featured a queen and twin bed and a balcony. The location/view was excellent.

Review 28:The Internet was spotty. There is no designated guest parking. Parking spots near the inn were non existent during the day meaning I had to carry my luggage from a significant distance away. I did manage a parking spot late in the afternoon that was closer. The parking is all metered with a two hour time limit so I was returning frequently to feed the meter during the day.

Review 29:The room was very clean though small. The location was wonderful.

Review 30:A little pricey. Weak internet. Also very little signage for the hotel except at the front entrance. Had to go by the photo taken for booking.com to find it. Check-in at the bar was strange

Review 31:Superb location right in the heart of Lunenburg. Room very clean and comfortable. Bed was a little too soft but that may just be our preference

Review 32:The room was small but very nicely furnished and very quiet and comfortable. It was simple and perfect. Right on the waterfront and close to everything, and very reasonably priced.

Review 33:Check-in through restaurant was confusing - I was told wrong room and ended up climbing steep stairs only to find key didn't work and I ended up finding that I hadn't needed to climb stairs at all. But after that confusion everything was fine.

Review 34:Great location and view, small but comfortable room, proximity to Grand Banker dining and pub.

Review 35:Great accommodation for the price, great housekeeping, restaurant attached had great food and staff, lots of amenities, everything within walking distance. ..

Review 36:Although it had great direct cable internet, the wifi would not connect.

Review 37:It had a very good direct cable internet instead of the usual poor wifi. Clean, quiet and comfortable. A good deal for the price. You could walk everywhere you wanted to go...park and play! Great food.

Review 38:Only one issue--and it was small--we were on the verge or running out of TP--had to ask for more.

Review 39:The place was perfect for my husband and myself, and also for our son whom we met after his return after an ocean voyage on the tall ship Picton Castle.

Review 40:Fantastic town, quiet comfortable inn. The food in the restaurant was really good, though it was not open for breakfast. The room was clean and contained everything that was needed to make our stay enjoyable!

Review 41:This inn is right on the waterfront with spectacular views. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The pub has a fantastic seafood stew to die fore. Staff are very friendly and eager to please. I've booked again for next trip!

Review 42:The WiFi was hard to link to and the signal strength was weak. Bathroom was small and sink is outside of it, that wasn't ideal. Walls were thin but not outrageously so.

Review 43:Balcony was a great perk. Bed was like sleeping on a cloud. It was nice to have the restaurant right downstairs and everything was within walking distance.

Review 44:The staff were really pleasant and fun. You couldn't ask for a better location, close to everything. We only stayed one night but found our room to be very clean and comfortable.

Review 45:Couldn't get Internet, tv screen was staticky, very noisy, stairs were not shovelled, key wouldn't work in the room, public was able to enter the building, was going to book the room for another night and owner said to come back in a bit and when I did, he booked the room on me. We were storm stayed and not one staff member was there. Had to ask daily for clean towels, soap amd toilet paper. No microwave and the fridge froze all my food. Ill never go back.

Review 46:I liked the location

Review 47:The shower was TINY - it was not even big enough for one person. Noise - the hallway noise is too loud to ignore. Sadly we had a person yelling for his buddy "Dave" at 7am right in front of our door...not really too enjoyable.

Review 48:I loved the location and the room itself was quite nice. Very clean and bright. Great TV, bed and the balcony was beautiful. All the staff I interacted with were extremely pleasant.

Review 49:Loud outside window. Very small room.

Review 50:Location was good but since we didn't have view on the Harbour we could have likely found better value for our money

Review 51:The room was much smaller than expected, barely enough room to bring our suitcases in. It was also very noisy, between the people outside and the noise from other rooms including neighboring bathrooms. The price was good, but not the most comfortable stay.

Review 52:Location is fantastic. The Grand Banker restaurant was amazing.

Review 53:Room was extremely tiny, although had everything and was very clean and comfortable.

Review 54:Location was central, easy to find, fine food at restaurant and easy to check in.

Review 55:Had booked a room with 2 beds, but was told that someone had specifically booked the one we should have gotten. Instead, got a room with a queen and a pull-out couch. For several hours, the restaurant/bar directly below our room had a door slamming constantly, plus there was a laundry room across the hall with doors opening and closing frequently. Spoke to restaurant owner about the door slamming (hydraulic door closer had failed) and he gave me a small credit for not getting the room we thought we were getting, and for the noisy door. He assured me that he had a door repair fellow coming asap, which did happen, and the door became silent.

Review 56:Room was clean, upgraded, very nice, nice view of the harbor front,

Review 57:The sofa bed needed to be replaced, and the mattress was not comfortable at all. The spare blanket caused two of us to have allergy symptoms.

Review 58:There is a great view of the harbour and the street below, from the kitchen table. The bedrooms were comfortable and nicely furnished. The unit was quiet, clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was more than adequate.

Review 59:I was on the bottom floor staying in the room opposite where staff from the bar get their ice supplies. Quite late into the night I could hear them shoveling ice into their buckets and it was rather loud each time they did it. Loud enough to wake me each time. Other than that my stay was brilliant.

Review 60:Location was awesome. Food at restaurant was very good.

Review 61:There is not one negative comment I can make about our stay at the Brigantine Inn. The check in was quick and easy. Our room had a terrific view of the waterfront. Located below our suite was the Grand Banker Bar & Grill. It was a great place to eat and the food was terrific. We highly recommend the Brigantine Inn to anyone visiting the area.

Review 62:Noise of staff working at night .we were waken up each night by staff getting ice from room across the hall. hard to find parking .

Review 63:Location was great.

Review 64:Check in was a little confusing - had to go down to the bar. Didn't see any signs directing us but another customer advised us where check in was. Better signage would have been helpful

Review 65:The Inn was right on the harbor and although the inn is old it is very well maintained, clean & comfortable. Location was great

Review 66:Noisy as you are in a 3 story inn and the people upstairs sounded like they were dancing at 6 am in the morning and I found that we had to put the air conditioner on to get to sleep as it was rather noisy at the beginning of the night it did quiet down later.

Review 67:Great location right across from the fisheries in downtown Lunenberg. It was busy during the day but got quieter on the streets at night even though we are in prime tourist season.Loved the balcony as far as we were concerned the only room for us!

Review 68:No compliants whatsoever. If you want giant rooms, indoor pools, saunas, etc,,,don't stay in these sorts of places.

Review 69:This is a old-fashioned Inn right on the waterfront, in the middle of town. I loved the cool night air, the groaners (foghorns) and the walkability. Room and bed were small, but spotless.

Review 70:Had to go downstairs in restaurant to book but went well. Have to pay for parking but luckily we didn't because of state holiday..

Review 71:Close to everything. Great staff. Great restaurant downstairs. Excellent view. Clean.

Review 72:Our room was right across from the laundry room and the staff woke us up at 2am doing laundry. The coffee pot was not cleaned from the previous guests as there was cold coffee left over and had to wash it ourselves. The room was incredibly tight for space. Finally, the towels were not cleaned as multiple strands of very long brown hair noted, thank goodness we had our own for the beach we hadn't yet used.

Review 73:The location was great as it was right downtown

Review 74:tight quarters, but sufficient for one night.

Review 75:near waterfront, clean off the street, no stairs. no noise from restaurant. Mgt. credited our acct for AAA discount.

Review 76:We requested a rollaway bed at time of booking. They didn't reply back on the request saying it waz going to be a problem. But it became an issue. Our room was a tight shoebox. Cozy would be a stretch. So we found a better location 1 block away that wax a better fit for our needs.

Review 77:Nothing but a bit of fresh milk in the fridge on arrival would have been a nice touch. Shower cubicle rather small.

Review 78:The main positive feature was the view and the lovely little balcony we had with the Picton Room. Clean and well presented and suited our family of 3.

Review 79:We had a nice bed but the pullout sofabed for the kids was quite uncomfortable (but sofabeds often are) and they forgot to give us towels for the kids. But cheerfully provided when reminded. Staff are all excellent.

Review 80:Amazing view! Couldn't stop looking out at the ocean, ships, carriages, etc. In a perfect location, central & convenient. Staff are super friendly & helpful. Nice pub downstairs too.

Review 81:One had to check in at the Pub/Restaurant on the lower floor - this made parking an issue for us. Our room, #7, was situated across from an Employees Only kitchen area which housed an ice machine. 3 times during the night I was awakened by the noise of the ice maker and then personnel hauling it away. Finally I talked to the staff member who apologized and it was quiet from then on. Our room was clean but VERY small.

Review 82:The location permitted us to walk to all the venues we wished to visit.

Review 83:The Pub downstairs was great. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were kind and accommodating. Close to all amenities.

Review 84:It was quiet at night, the room was made up each day and was very comfortable.

Review 85:a little small

Review 86:it was close to everthing

Review 87:Room was small and cluttered with two much furniture.

Review 88:Great location and excellent restaurant associated with it.

Review 89:Initial sign in… (took us a minute to find who to check in with..)

Review 90:The view, the bedding and bed, the windows and location.

Review 91:No provided parking

Review 92:Good location on the waterfront. Staff was helpful and friendly

Review 93:window opener broken. Pillows terrible.

Review 94:location. waterfront view.

Review 95:Location

Review 96:Good location.

Review 97:Perhaps the steep stairs, but manageable.

Review 98:Location! And the Grand Banker bar and restaurant!

Review 99:Room was right by road where trash was picked in the early am. Noisy

Review 100:Price

Review 101:internet a bit slow

Review 102:food in restaurant attached to inn

Review 103:Perfect location, perfectly clean, easy check in and out. Highly recommend!

Review 104:No air-conditioning. Fan was very noisy. No breakfast.

Review 105:Clean. Convenient location to waterfront and shops/restaurants.

Review 106:location

Review 107:Very clean

Review 108:The view was unbelievable

Review 109:The bedroom was great and the location

Review 110:A little disconcerting to going into a restaurant to get registered for room

Review 111:Great room and location

Review 112:small room and the smelly air conditioner. No breakfast.

Review 113:Steps away from waterfront.

Review 114:Rooms small but adequate and very neat

Review 115:Perfect location in the heart of this magic town

Review 116:Great views, perfect location, attentive staff, clean, well appointed rooms with a newer feel.

Review 117:The only complaint would be the stairs. They were pretty steep.

Review 118:the location was great and the view was spectacular

Review 119:Incredibly great staff, fabulous location, comfortable beds, air conditioning

Review 120:Super small room Terrible air conditioner Small bed

Review 121:Location is perfect

Review 122:There is nothing we did not like.

Review 123:The room was beautiful. Unfortunately we did not get a view of the harbour.

Review 124:Carpet in room and dirty walls and fan .a/c was old and noisy

Review 125:Bed was good.great location
