Reviews for Hotel Residence Brunner

Review 1:It was a little bit too long to walk to the hotell from the lift/train.

Review 2:The staff was supernice and we really liked the place since it was quite special and not just a regular hotel.

Review 3:I go to wengen few times during the winter season and I feel home at the Brunner hotel . The location is perfect, right at the arrival of the ski slopes and just 5 minutes down hill is wengen center. After skiing I always enjoy a drink at the snow bar in front of the hotel, a populare place to meet with friends after a day on the slopes. The rooms are always clean and with the free wifi available. The family who owns and manage the hotel is very friendly and have a profound knowledge of the area, that can be helpful. Surely a good value for money.

Review 4:The bed was very weird and the wifi connectivity was horrible. We had to come to the reception area to use the WiFi.

Review 5:The location was very nice and you can see the mountains from the window and balcony. Train station was 10 minutes walk. However for bringing the luggage to and from station, need to take a taxi as it is uphill.

Review 6:I found property is little over priced, breakfast was same for all three days. WIFI was not available in our room. As the hotel is little far from the railway station (and on mountain) it should facilitate guest to transport from station to hotel.

Review 7:Cordial staff, Ms. Brunner was very helpful, she guided us in our iteniary, specially for Jaungfro visit. She also facilitate in changing my check in dates. Location of the hotel was good. The hotel has partial kitchen facilities with free tea and coffee.

Review 8:located up in the hill.. very difficult to reach with luggage. It was Mentioned in website that kitchen is available but they said we should not cook. Disappointed with this.

Review 9:View from Balcony is amazing. Breakfast is good. Staff are friendly

Review 10:The room was very small and everything in the hotel was kind of fusty / old / creaky. It's not like you will feel very uncomfortable, just be sure to not expect so much for the money. It's the cheapest hotel in Wengen and really should call themselves a hostel, so people know what to expect.

Review 11:Breakfast was really great with real dark bread, but also Toast available. Selection of jams, cornflakes/musli, sausage and cheese, fruits, juices. Also the view of the mountains was great. But in the end all couldn't really make up for the hotel being more hostel level. Of course Switzerland and Wengen is expensive, but 125€/night for such a small and fusty room just seems excessive. And in the summer, I wouldn't stay in Wengen at all. I feel that Lauterbrunnen (or maybe even Interlaken) is a better and more convenient base for hiking trips.

Review 12:Wifi in corner room is pretty bad

Review 13:Location is great. It is a short walk from the train, but no big deal. Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet was delicious every day.

Review 14:The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the station. Though the uphill walk can be tough if you have a lot of luggage, the view from the room is absolutely worth it.

Review 15:The WiFi was not very effective and the heaters were non functional.

Review 16:The nice quite ambiance of the place with beautiful locale was perfect treat for eyes after hauling our luggage all the way up from the station which was not so close but once you reach the place you feel that 'IT WAS WORTH THE EFFORT "

Review 17:The wifi did not work in the rooms I think they turn it off to save money There is never a member of staff on hand to talk too,or get even Get a drink of water from

Review 18:The view from the bedroom

Review 19:You should walk a little for getting the hotel from train station, ifyou have too many baggages, it is a little tiring. But I should say thatit depends on your fiscal capacity.

Review 20:All the staff are very friendly. It locates at a very beautiful place, wonderful scenery!

Review 21:Poor breakfast, you need to go there by cab if you´re not travel light. Internet capacity could have been better.

Review 22:If you are looking for accomodation where skiing is n:o 1 priority - this is the place for you. Ski in, ski out, a great afterski bar right in front of the hotel.

Review 23:isolation between rooms (noisy)

Review 24:very relaxed atmosphere friendly staff nice living room with pool table ski-in / ski-out location with après-ski next doors

Review 25:The demanding hill from the station to the hotel. Almost to much for me. The 7 min walk is downhill to the station not uphill. Was a big problem. No collection of visitors from station - I had to walk with heavy bags because no taxi.. Reception not manned on arrival or evenings.

Review 26:Good view from balcony in room.

Review 27:Small rooms, but okey for 2 persons.

Review 28:very friendly staff, supercomfortable beds and a balcony with an amazing view of the mountains. Good breakfast buffé in a big hall. Many commonrooms with pooltable and bar with free coffee and the.

Review 29:Minimal selection at breakfast. Musty smell in room. Poor decoration, furniture and fittings. Dubious fire escape arrangements. Advertised as 7 minutes walk from station - might just be true in the downhill direction. I could guarantee my booking with Amex, but had to use another card to pay for the room.

Review 30:View from rooms at front of hotel. Thankfully only stayed 2 nights.

Review 31:Distance from Wengen station is a substantial 15min hike uphill. 1 way taxi is about 18sfr. Breakfast a little too simple for such a price. Not recommended for elderly to walk from the station.

Review 32:We had a quad room with private bath which was adequate in space. Hotel also provided a common pantry area downstairs for tea and coffee. Wifi overall was acceptable within the entire building but expect it to drop connection a couple of times.

Review 33:Accommodations in places like this are extremely expensive. We pay for the view. The room was pretty small for the price but the view was great. Water pressure is low and the hot water was not hot enough making shower is something to be dread of. The water is cold. This is an old hotel so when you walked on the floor, it's creaking.

Review 34:The staff are very friendly and helpful. I love the magnificent view from my window. The hotel lounge is very cozy. I hope the free coffee can be of more variety. There's a microwave where you can heat your food and whatnot. The deco/interior of the hotel is classic, romantic and sweet.

Review 35:1. Staffs 2. Bed 3. Hygiene

Review 36:I like the view of the hotel

Review 37:Not easy to find in the first time, but you can teak a taxi

Review 42:Loved everything

Review 43:The staff were just lovely and the location was stunning

Review 44:Needs maintenance in places. Our bathroom door jammed and couldn't be closed.

Review 45:Old decoration at rooms. Should be upgraded to thiss price.

Review 46:View of alps.

Review 47:The hotel is extremely basic yet charging premium rates. The walls paper thin. And breakfast at an extra 20 chf per person is a joke, save your money and spend 20 chf on food down town

Review 48:The views from the balcony on a clear day stunning. On piste location, apres ski bar a nice touch

Review 49:Pillows were seriously lacking. Shower curtain kept falling. Water was a bit yellow for kids' baths.

Review 50:Loved the location and ski bar. Condition of the hotel is a bit rundown and tired. Staff was very helpful.

Review 51:The staff is very, very friendly and helpfull, location is super for those looking for a quit place with fantastic mountain views right from your bedroom window

Review 52:Limited hot water; WiFi was a bit spotty Kind of a long walk with heavy bags...

Review 53:Loved the view and the staff - very helpful Nice room, great value also.
