Reviews for Hotel Montpelier

Review 1:The bus service to the Medran lift was dreadful. One morning an hour's wait. I ended up walking at least 3 times. Just doesn't really work, every 15 mins, is a joke.

Review 2:Bar staff and breakfast staff were excellent. Cheerful, friendly, couldn't do enough for you. Good breakfasts. We also had a light, bright room, with lots of hot water. Could do with more cupboard space!

Review 3:A bit of a faff getting out from ski boot room and up through the hotel to the outside. Pool lovely but small.

Review 4:Fabulous penthouse suite with lots of space for the 4 in our family. Really clean suite which was a bit dated but had stunning views. Wonderful comfortable bed and bedding in adults bedroom. Steam and sauna fantastic.

Review 5:The fact that even with all heaters off in our apartment it was still overheated.

Review 6:The helpfulness and cheerfulness of all the staff . They made us feel very welcome The beautiful view from our room The wellness facilities and the ski and ski boots storage room

Review 7:Only breakfast served on premises so need to always go out for dinner. Although Verbier has lots of choices in terms of restaurants, visitors should realise that eating in for dinner is not an option.

Review 8:Very friendly and helpful staff and clean and tidy premises.

Review 9:Minor improvement need for the light switches in the common areas. It would be great to have motion sensors especially when you are carrying the skis. You found yourself in the dark looking for the light switch with both hands full.

Review 10:Homely feeling The view of the mountains The lovely staff Overall a great stay!

Review 11:lack of a restaurant

Review 12:The staff were very friendly. The location for the Verbier festival could not have been better - a very short walk to the Salle des Combins.

Review 13:Kindness and helpful atitude of the staff, the quiet, welcoming and unassuming atmosphere. Best value for money hotel I have experienced in Verbier. Hope it stays that way

Review 14:Despite all the staff being incredibly friendly and professional some of them struggled with French and/or English and didn't seem to know much about Verbier.

Review 15:We had a wonderful experience with the staff including being upgraded to a Suite upon arrival. The indoor pool and sauna were delightful. Great view from balcony even though we had a back room. Great bathroom with big bath. Super fast Wi-Fi! Excellent breakfast with wonderful views from the breakfast room.

Review 16:Internet access code to be entered every time; nice balcony - but no chairs/table on it.

Review 17:great view on both sides of the hotel ; clean ; reasonable sized room

Review 18:room facing the main road was very noisy room was hot pool hours were quite limited and as a result, we couldn't use the facilties

Review 19:nice bed and VERY clean

Review 20:Svimming pool closed at 20 a.m and didn't open before 10 p.m. 30 euro extra for a 10 years old boy in a 4 beds apartment.

Review 21:Breakfast was very good. Awesome view over the valley and quiet location. Friendly employers. Very good parking in the cellar.

Review 22:The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. They accommodated us in a better room than originally booked (with outstanding view and terrace), offered good suggestions for meals & hikes, and helped with other smaller requests. Look forward to going back when in Verbier again.

Review 23:Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room with fantastic views, great facilities and food, could not have wanted for more. Will definitely be recommending.

Review 24:No bad experience but it would be nice for families to have a restaurant service at night especially as the hotel is out of the centre. Also, I don't like paying extra for car parking.

Review 25:Good service, good breakfast, nice upgraded room, swimming pool facilities.

Review 26:There are no umbrellas for guests when it's raining/snowing... Table reservations need to be double checked to work out.

Review 27:Tidy Room Service!!! Sufficient breakfast. Quite good connection to the lift bus is running every ten minutes.

Review 28:The rooms are dated and in need of new furniture! The cabinets and countertops in bathrooms are peeling off, the light fixtures are rusted and old and the sofa was stained and very uncomfortable.

Review 29:The hotel staff is very friendly and the location is away from the busy part of Verbier. With a short 10 min walk you are at the center of town. The parking available (at cost) is convinient just outside (or under) the hotel. There is also a free bus to the center of town, 100m away from the hotel. The rooms are large.

Review 30:We loved the staff, the location, the amenities, breakfast and the valley views from the hotel room. Pool, sauna, steam room, ski and boot storage are a plus. Walk 100m to free bus or short walk into the heart of town.

Review 31:A bit expensive.

Review 32:Far enough from the center to be quiet (important in a party place like Verbier) yet close enough to walk to restaurants. Frequent, free bus for ski lift.

Review 33:The hotel needs a revamp. It looks old and outdated with an 1980 feeling mass-tourism kind of, with no ski chalet atmosphere. Having said that, most of their clients were on the 60+ yeals old age segment, perhaps the decorations are focused on the "Senior" tourist category. Because the hotel is located directly on the main road, with lots of traffic, if you want a quiet room you need to request it on the rear facing part of the building. Staff it's nice and polite, but tends to be inflexible in dealing with requests. We weren't sure whether it's a management line or personal choice. All in all, we felt Vebier it's highly overrated from ski sloaps and chair lift conditions to general resort atmosphere. It's over built giving the impression you're holidaying in a proper town with supermarkets and intense car traffic.

Review 34:Breakfast has few choices but good picks in each food category, nice mountain view from the room The free ski shuttle it's 200m away. The hotel does not provide their own shuttle bus.

Review 35:I've stayed in many hotels over the course of my life, but this hotel introduces a really novel feature: they charge the full amount of your stay 2 full days in advance of your arrival !!! Du jamais vu.

Review 36:the missing curtains in the bath room. the impossibilty to have full dark room during night.

Review 37:I liked the spa area the possibilty to park in front of the hotel the breakfirst: very good without gluten option food. the ski rooms

Review 38:I liked everything about the hotel.

Review 39:Made a request for gluten free toast at breakfast the first day, which was promptly served. The following days, they served me gluten free toast without even having to ask for it. Great location, clean rooms, and hotel was geared towards accommodating a perfect ski vacation. Convenient parking in front of the hotel entrance.

Review 40:We paid over £2000 for a "suite" ie a bedroom & lounge for the week on a b&b basis in this 3 star hotel. No evening meal is available. There was a small kitchen area which was bare of any glasses, mugs, kettle ( we were not planning on cooking) but would have liked a kettle to make a hot drink, however when I called down to reception to ask if I could gave a kettle, I was advised a "kitchen pack" was available to rent for 35 Swiss francs a day? The furnishings were very minimum for example there was no lighting apart from ceiling light in the lounge & again I called down & asked if they had a spare side light, but nothing was forthcoming. The room was serviced daily but I had to leave out empty toiletries & finished loo roll to ensure these were replaced. I appreciate Verbier is an expensive resort & the exchange rate with Swiss franc doesn't help, but I know we've stayed in Austrian ski resorts in similar 3 star hotels on half board for much less.

Review 41:The staff at breakfast were very efficient & quickly replaced anything that was missing. The hotel was clean. It is a short 5 minute walk to the bus stop for the ski bus.

Review 42:with excellent localization, a few meters of bus station and the lifts, we had a amazing ski trip (and after ski time too). The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was really special...

Review 43:I think that some of the furnitures, the kitchen and the carpet should be changed to something newer. It is really strange comming to a kitchen where there are nothing in..

Review 44:I liked the staffs high level of service, The breakfast, the lobby, the fireplace in the penthouse and the balconey with the great view over the valley

Review 45:Rules that didn't allow us to have a cup of tea in our room (even when ordered from the hotel restaurant). We were on the first floor and our bathroom looked on to the street and neighbouring buildings with no curtains so no privacy when going to the toilet or showering. A bit further out of town than we expected. We expected a little more value for money (although in fairness unable to compare to other places in Verbier).

Review 46:Room size, indoor pool, ski hire shop had great quality gear.

Review 47:Fridge wasn't working and not repaired during my stay but it was only for 4 nights. It didn't cause me a problem.

Review 48:Nothing to fault except opposite.

Review 49:We stayed for just 1 night at the end of a week in Verbier, so effectively it was Bed and breakfast! The staff were very helpful! The rooms were clean and our room was spacious! The breakfast was excellent!

Review 50:The apartment we rented had a kitchen but you needed to pay extra per person, per day for utensils and basic cooking supplies (ie. glasses, forks, knives, etc). They also charged to have a cat and a parking spot. Just everything seemed to be added on to the base price. Also, I would NOT recommend the ski rental place in the hotel. Prices are crazy in comparison to other rentals and skis were old.

Review 51:Breakfast was good and initial price was reasonable. Location was about 5-10 minutes walk from town center.

Review 52:A bit away from the centre of town although there are regular free buses. Nice little kitchen area in the room but it would have been good to have had some tea/coffee making facilities.

Review 53:Lovely room with lots of space and a great view. Excellent breakfasts. Staff were great - special thanks to Claudia who looked after us very well.

Review 54:Rooms were sometimes very hot but I think it was for the very changeable climate

Review 55:The best shower I've ever had on a skiing holiday. Very friendly staff. Good value for money

Review 56:Verbier is not a cheap town but this hotel gives you very good value for money for the location - comfortable beds, easy location for the shuttle bus to the slopes, hot breakfast, sauna / steam room, fast wifi and good views.

Review 57:The water in swimming pool too cold for me. Nothing in kitchen to cook with. asking 20francs to have a kitchen package per day. Would have liked coffee making facilities in room. we were paying nearly double over the Christmas. with no trimmings.

Review 58:near free bus stop. next to sports centre. beautiful views. parking on premises or parking nearby. lovely bed linen. small kitchenette. (take your own saucepan if you want to heat water for coffee). Friendly staff. Nice manager Vincent who was very helpful.

Review 59:The lack of room-service / food besides breakfast The heat in the room was too high (25°C or so) The confusing Wi-Fi tickets : you have to log in every time you connect and you must have 1 ticket per item.

Review 60:The helpful and warm staff The nice and cosy rooms The ski room The always clean rooms

Review 61:The bedrooms could get quite hot on a night time, even when the radiators were turned down. An option of a few bar snacks would also be a positive - although this will not stop us from returning!

Review 62:The staff were really wonderful, very attentive and accommodating throughout our stay. The pool and sauna are a brilliant facility especially with the views! Breakfast was very good, even though we were some of the last downstairs there was lots of choice. Our room was perfect, super clean and again with wonderful views.

Review 63:No TV in living room in suite 312.management will change that. No restaurant, been informed will start this service in January.new staff which seems a bit lost for the opening season. Swimming pool cold . Nude showering in pool area should not be allowed with families there as occupants .

Review 64:Friendly staff, clean, open to suggestions, renewal of all existing material.

Review 65:Parking outside is 20CHF/day, garage 30CHF/day. I did choose this hotel because they announced big rooms (20m2) in booking.com. What a surprise when my son and I found ourselves in a small room (2,8 x 4 m) - you just could walk around the beds. The hotel was less then half full, so I was surprised that we got such a small room - apparently the manager does not instruct his receptionists to give out the bigger rooms even when they are empty. Receptionist said there are fully booked ( a lie as anyone could see on the Internet and even just at looking at the parking). On the 2nd day, I talked to the manager, but he said that the numbers in booking.com are only approximate - ours would have 17m2 - try and do a caculation :-). And: he did not suggest a free upgrade even as there were still lots of (>=5) free rooms of same or next category in the Internet. Last day we asked for late checkout at 15:00 instead 12:00 - we'd have to pay a charge of CHF 150.- for that. .... I am usually not complaining, but this hotel could easily have done better, but apparently does not want to.

Review 66:Breakfast was good. Hamam and Swimmingpool are small, but nice. We were alone, will be less fun when the hotel is full.

Review 67:I always find hotel rooms are kept very hot. This hotel was no different. I just left the door open at night. Only complaint - aside from the cost but the whole of verbier is expensive.

Review 68:Staff were great, nice showers, great pool/sauna/spa. Walk to the bus stop is 50 meters - actually much easier than I thought

Review 69:The staff were exceptional. The breakfast was the best in Verbier The pool was a relaxing bonus

Review 70:Room small but i think for verbier it is pretty standard
