Reviews for Lake Louise Inn
Review 1:The cleaning lady didn't close the door completely when she finished and someone got into our room and messed up our beds and the washroom before we got there
Review 2:Location
Review 3:Unfortunately there was only a small round table and 2 chairs with a kitchen, so I am not sure where they expect people staying in the room to eat their meals. Even 4 chairs would have been a better plan, so you could eat your meals and play cards or a board game. The pots and pans in the kitchen should be checked for cleanliness when the previous guests depart as the pots and pans were filthy! It would be great if the upper bedroom actually had a full door instead of a half barn door, and if the opening into the lower living areas was actually closed off or a fixed pane window, so the light still came in but it was more sound proof from the lower level. We did order some food from the lounge for take out, and it was so very disappointing!. My salad was some lettuce thrown into a box, very small container of dressing and not even the chicken strips that were ordered, but rather some dry cold pieces of chicken. The garlic toast was black on the underside. That was really not acceptable and the kitchen staff should check their product, if I was in the dining room, I would have surely sent it back.
Review 4:The location of the Lake Louise Inn is great. The loft unit we had was a good set up and if needed there were beds for 8. The full kitchen is very handy and the upper bedroom is spacious with a 3 piece bath.
Review 5:The man working night shifts was extremely awkward and acted as if he was really busy when there was only myself and 1 other person in the lobby waiting to talk to him. When the second person entered, he ran to the front desk saying "i'm coming i'm coming i'm coming!!" He also told us there was no way for us to get any drinking water when everything closes and failed to inform us of the vending machine. It was also very strange to me that there is no microwave anywhere on the premises.
Review 6:It was a good location for after snowboarding and convenient. The rooms were very clean as well.
Review 7:We only had room service for 2 of the 6 days we were there. I would expect much better service for my money:( view was so- so...and restaurants were only average.
Review 8:I liked that it was a quiet and peaceful location.
Review 9:Felt the rooms were way under kept. Bathrooms were dirty, paint pealing in the shower, old food stuck to the inside of the coffee machine, hair in the bedding and under the covers (not our hair) a cold breeze along the floor the whole time as the front door had a crack big enough to see daylight, and the patio door also has cracks and ice build up. Not the worst room I've stayed in, but it's not my first choice in the future.
Review 10:Loved the view of course. Was a beautiful weekend!!
Review 11:Staff is not helpful ! Horrible restaurant people! Hotel room is not good I paid lot $225 for one night and even no microwave oven in the room ? Very small room I never ever recommend this hotel
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:Very hard to regulate temperature in the room - we either froze or overheated. The beds were not very comfortable, but I suppose I am spoiled in that regard. The space is a little dated but still very clean.
Review 14:The staff was exceptional. My toddler was treated like a grown up in the restaurant - staff pulled out her seat, talked to her like she was coherent (she's 2) and were very accommodating and helpful. Our room was very clean and excellent proximity to services. The pool was warm (unusual for Alberta hotels) so we were able to take our 5mo old in with us. Having Starbucks coffee (complete with lattes) was very much appreciated from this tired Mom. Also having the bus come right to the hotel to take you to the ski resort meant we could come and go instead of committing to the busy resort all day with small children.
Review 15:Both the bed and the pullout couch were very uncomfortable. Pullout couch was also very small.
Review 16:Really liked the location in town. Kitchenette was very well stocked. Nice having laundry facilities available as well. Also always lots of hot water for showers, etc. Nice and warm in the unit.
Review 17:maid needs a list of her duties. Yes the room was very clean when we arrived. But she didn't wipe(bathroom) or clean up anything else for our other 3 nights there. Had to ask for coffee/shampoo/lotion/ clean face clothes.
Review 18:Great location. Front desk workers where very polite and helpful.
Review 19:We reported bed bugs as my mother in law was eaten in the night. They were looked at but never apologised for by front desk nor compensated for. More effort was made by the housekeeper that seem to understand. The breakfast service was appalling, food very average.
Review 20:The TV worked.
Review 21:The price of $235 was quite steep for a place to sleep for one night.
Review 22:Location was perfect for visiting our son who works and lives at Lake Louise. Bison burgers were amazing and juicy.
Review 23:This place was disgusting. Not only was it seriously lacking in cleanliness but this hotel has cut every corner. The rooms were filthy and obviously redone on a cheap whim. Our bed was literally placed into a closet, the closet frame still apparent. There was no flooring, not even carpet or laminate, just cement with multiple dead bugs and dust bunnies under our bed. The wallpaper was outdated and peeling. The kitchen was a horrendous throwback to the 70s, with peeling veneer and dirty corners. Even the utensils had baked on food still prevalent from previous tenants. The bathroom, shop of horrors, will remain a negative memory in what was what supposed to be a romantic birthday getaway. The heating get element, the cover was completely blown off with wires and internal works exposed. It's a good thing we didn't bring the children. Trying to take a shower was a painful event with pressure so extreme and being forced out between calcius buildup on the shower head. Cover any body part you don't want skinned off by that. The shower curtain, which I can imagine was someone's favorite joke, literally was so cheap and flimsy that it would swallow your entire body. I had to have my husband hold the curtain in place and me for him just so we could actually wash ourselves. The staff was horrendous. Every meal we had, each server would forget something for our meal. Everything we would be taken to our table, the staff would advise us that they only had 1 or 2 items available from the menu. Not any selection at all. They were rude, horrible trained and extremely slow. We waited a hour once just for one of our servers to bring us water and utensils, then another 20 mins for our actually meal.I will never stay there again. They were so overpriced for the little they had to offer, I wouldn't even consider paying $50/night, let alone the $200+/night we spent. The best part of this trip was getting away from the hotel and getting to the ski mountain.
Review 24:The only thing worthy of liking was the centralized location and the lit up pines in the main court area.
Review 25:It would have been nice for the front desk staff to mention the breakfast options(free and etc) at check-in ... had to ask about it !
Review 26:Friendly Staff - Great room - was even comp upgraded due to the slow shoulder season.
Review 27:Rooms good use a bit more lighting as our room didn't face the sun and the lamps didn't provide much help even in the middle of the day!
Review 28:Great location, room was decent, prices were high.
Review 29:Location immediately adjacent to transcanada hwy makes rooms at rear of inn noisy at night.Expensive meals. No microwave.
Review 30:Warm and adequate room. Bit cramped. Nice small balcony.
Review 31:Our family travelling with us had to change their room due to it smelling of smoke. Was remedied very quickly with a change of room.
Review 32:It was very quiet. The setting is very beautiful.
Review 33:Warm water didn´t work (but it was fixed after half an hour) Toilette didn't work (luckily we had 2 in the suite)
Review 34:Upgrade to suite (for free) Landscape around the hotel is great! Chimney in room & view at the forest
Review 35:there was not coffee left in room for coffee machine, would have appreciated a room with a view of mountains, had a room looking at the pool, I believe that end of Oct is off season.
Review 36:cost effective location for Lake Louise
Review 37:reduced catering facilities; out of the 3 restaurants, 1 was closed whole time & others were not open every day
Review 38:nice big room; the hottub looking out to mountains was great place to relax
Review 39:Prices in the restaurants and saloon were outrageously high. Room privces also very expensive.
Review 40:Beautiful hotel with an awesome view in pretty much all directions. Very friendly staff and clean as could be.
Review 41:Was not worth spending even 50 dollars, first of all it didnot look likethe way it was in photos at all. Night stand tables were dirty, somebodyleft their novel in it and its sticky. Tv in the room was from 1950maybe , you know what I mean. I am never coming backkkk !!!!
Review 42:That its close to lake louise
Review 43:My son and I stayed in Lake Louise Inn two nights(28-30/ Sept.) in our Banff trip, we both found any itchy bites at 30/sept,(there are 2 bites on my son, and 3 on me)we didn't care because we never heard bed bugs. But when we back to home, the bites bigger and itchier, I can not sleep in the night because the itchy. After ask doctor, then we know that's bed bugs' bites, I threw all the clothes of this trip, because scared for take back the bugs. It broken our beautiful trip. We stayed in room 4316.
Review 44:We asked for a ground floor room, but were given a 3rd floor room instead. The problem is, I have mobility issues and there are no elevators. One restaurant is in the basement, the other is on the second floor. The hotel makes no acknowledgement that there are no provisions for disabilities, even though it was part of my 'special request' when I made my booking.
Review 45:Proximity to the lake, a choice of restaurants and the view made this a very pleasant place to stay
Review 46:It was an average hotel that charges $150 CND in the off season. Plus $50 for the pet. I should have looked for a nicer hotel for that kind of money.
Review 47:The hotel was okay. Nothing stood out.
Review 48:Please read above. The location is good but it was expensive.
Review 49:In one of our rooms, my elderly mum felt very uncomfortable. We asked to change to another apartment but it was very late in the night already and it was our 3 of 4 nights there. With lots of things to shift, my mum decided to share a bed with my sister and left her bed vacant.
Review 50:The food in the restaurant lacked variety and was mainly pizza based although it was tasty.
Review 51:It suited our needs and was a good location. It was a large complex with lots of different accommodation blocks. It was clean and comfortable but could be described as faded elegance! Value for money it was good but I am sure there would be more up to date places to stay in Lake Louise.
Review 52:No bad experience during stay.
Review 53:Rooms were clean and tidy, bed was comfortable, location was good, close to amenities. Staff polite and attentive to requests.
Review 54:Had difficulty getting the room cleaned. The gym was ancient and unpleasant, with bad lighting. The mandatory showers for the spa and pool were cold, and the hot tub was lukewarm.
Review 55:Location is great, very convenient to the village and all sites. Good parking. The array of facilities sounds great on paper.
Review 56:Long walk from our room to the restaurant - not good in the rain and few other eating options nearby.
Review 57:Comfortable room in pleasant rural surroundings. Conveniently placed for access to Lake Louise and the Ice Fields Parkway.
Review 58:The facilities were terrible. The list includes: - old buildings - rooms had low ceilings - it felt like a cave - rooms had minimal lighting which contributed to cave like feeling - parking lots, hallways and stairways had no to limited lighting - very unsafe - ice machine in our building (only 1 ice machine for the whole building with over 100 rooms) did not work - no space around the beds - very tight quarters - which also contributed to the cave like feeling. - hallways and stairways had bad, musty, old smell to them. Carpet was worn and torn. Needs immediate replacing. - we were shocked there was no refrigerator in room, we called to get one and they said they couldn't because the electrical system of the building we were in did not support a refrigerator being plugged in! (I have never heard of that before) - the pool changing rooms, the pool and the hot tub were very dated and old and are in desperate need of refurbishing. - asked for late checkout and was given that but then the internet connection was discontinued at the normal 11Am checkout time! In general, I would recommend that people not stay here until they redo the facilities and make it more comfortable, safer and modern.
Review 59:Staff (especially Michael at the front desk) was efficient and friendly with good advice on places to have dinner. Location was excellent as it a few blocks away from the main access road to Lake Louise but within walking distance of the small strip mall. It was generally quiet thought we heard a lot of other travelers in their rooms during the evenings.
Review 60:No lift and we are in the 3/F, my hasband take the all of our luggages by himself. No breakfast. A little bit expensive
Review 61:They have several block, different with regular hotel.
Review 62:Bad sound isolation. The temperature controller in the room didn't work, and the room was too warm. The fabric of the comforter is hard as plastic cloth and made annoying noise when someone turned over.
Review 63:The view of snow mountain is nice.
Review 64:The location. Fall leaves and walks along the Bow River Loop were simply breathtaking. We try to come back to this area (Banff, Canmore, Jasper, Lake Louise) every year to get our fill of the mountains.
Review 65:Compared to the nearby Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise this is a much better hotel for the traveller. Good vernacular style and no rip offs for extras. Lake Louise is just a very short drive away.
Review 66:Breakfast not included in room rate. Motel style, your located right outside when you leave the room.
Review 67:Convenient location in the village of Lake Louise near highway. Buildings spread in a park with trees. Good breakfast buffet.
Review 68:Bedroom on second floor had a slanted roof. We had to bend down. Washroom was nosy. Could hear flushing from adjacent room. Pool was in other building. Was cold travelling back and forth.
Review 69:Location was close to central Lake Louise.
Review 70:Bed wasn't very comfortable, had a tilt to it. Pool was closed for some reason. Breakfast was too expensive to eat here though good selection on the menu.
Review 71:Beautiful view from the room.
Review 72:A mini-fridge would have been useful.
Review 73:Cute little room, comfy beds. Overall a very comfortable stay. Liked the hot tub. About a 10 min drive to Lake Louise.
Review 74:Minor complaints but they were handled immediately, which was appreciated!
Review 75:The apartment was even larger than we expected, with extra sleeping places. No mountain views from the suit, but a nice sitting area and a terrace facing a lawn. Fireplace. Well equipped kitchen.Several restaurants nearby. Separate ski storage for the winter season.
Review 76:For $268/night we stayed in what felt like a dorm room. Two std. beds, hardly room to walk between or around. Nice linens, but this place is tired and is trying to be a first class resort. I would start with the accommodations.
Review 77:The location was convenient
Review 78:The angle of the bed in regards to the room was disorienting. At night coming back from the bathroom I fell off the bed and hit my head on the night stand. I was not drinking. The bed was also very very hard
Review 79:Good location and view from the third floor
Review 80:4.Expensive 5.Restaurants were misserable. Food was expensive and disgusting. 6.Gym has unstable machines and cant be used. 7.Swiming pool small and no locking for lockers.
Review 81:1.Location is good close to the shopping centre. 2.Room was spacious and clean. 3.Good wifi
Review 82:Location - our room backed into Highway 1 and was a little noisy.
Review 83:The Restaurant on site is very good - Mainly, loved Lake Louise - the inn is ok - not luxury but comfortable and clean.
Review 84:Unit we stayed in had no public space, and room was a little cramped.
Review 85:Main building had convenient restaurant and pub. Small lobby area for reading and relaxing. Pool and hot tub a nice extra.
Review 86:Sadly, the Inn was understaffed and the room wasn't ready until 4:45pm. Check-in time is advertised as 4:00 and we have never in our long traveling experience, ever had to wait before to get into our room. Usually rooms are ready before the official check-in.
Review 87:Great location, very nice room (we had the king room), good restaurant and sports lounge on site.
Review 88:No bad experiences, but the first room we were in (bldg 4) didn't have a fridge. We could have used that.
Review 89:The location was perfect for our 4 days photographing in the Rockies. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We ate in the pub twice and in the pizza/pasta restaurant once. All food was delicious and reasonably priced.
Review 90:Some of the staff at the front desk didn't seem very helpful or genuine. There was an older couple in front of me in line. I noticed the girl working the front desk was getting a bit impatient with him, he was having trouble finding his pen and writing... and then I later noticed that as the couple was struggling right outside the front doors to the get their bags onto the luggage cart, all the front desk staff were inside chatting, rather than paying attention to something that should have been their first priority. They also didnt magnetize my key properly and I was stuck in the cold at midnight when I got back to my room. They did send someone over immediately though to help me when I called.
Review 91:Although it was a bit older, the room was clean and didn't have a smell. Right across the street from a little plaza with a nice bakery, I'd suggest skipping breakfast at the Inn and finding breakfast elsewhere at least one. For what I paid for the room (got it at a reduced rate, about 120 per night) I'd say it was about what I expected.
Review 92:Bathroom could have been clear and bathtub plug wouldn't stay up so tub kept filling while taking shower.
Review 93:Beautiful setting and loved the fireplace and deck.
Review 94:Small room. No ramp for disabled or older adults to schlep their luggage.
Review 95:Lake Louise is very small. Probably only needed one night there. Three restaurants. Walking distance to others.
Review 96:The pub in the basement had horrible music on poor speakers, which were too loud. Food was mediocre. Bath tub had hairs in the corners.
Review 97:Appreciated the nice quilts and great check in and check out procedures. Convenient location.
Review 98:See above. And I don't want anything. I just want you to know. I'm a Fixed Operations Managerin the Automotive Industry and Customer service is my thing.
Review 99:We were upgraded to a double queen. After seeing the room I see why the other guests refused it. Over looking the pool. The restaurant guests could watch us change in our room. Would have preferred my original Res with a King. Room would likely have been roomier than twin Queens. I wonder what would have happened if I had insisted on the King after it had already been given away? When asked apon leaving if my stay was enjoyable I said yes. Complaining to the front desk isn't my thing. I think this form of communication is best for something like this. All staff very very friendly. The whole situation turned a bit sour. Too bad. Oh well. It's not like I'm likely to be back.
Review 100:The laundry facility had two of four broken machines.
Review 101:We rented the studio with the kitchen. Had everything we needed. Even though we were in the building closest to the highway is was never noisy.
Review 102:It's three miles drive to Lake Louise where we were able to hike to Lake Agnes about 3.4 km to the top. We went up early and discovered snow still on the ground but wow what an experience! Great location if you're headed to Jasper and about 45 mins drive to the beautiful town of Banff. There is a small mall about 5 mins walk from the hotel.
Review 103:The condo was a little "tired" and could stand an updaate. The 2nd bed was quite high with drawers underneath so if you pull out the drawer and step on the edge you can throw yourself into the bed! Bathroom very small.
Review 104:The location is ideal for walking to the village. Restraunts are nearby. Good place to stay if you ski.
Review 105:Only queen bed had a duvet. All other beds had only one thin blanket which was totally inadequate for the climate of Lake Louise and we had to requst more blankets next morning. The bedroom downstairs with a single bed and set of bunks was extremely small, with no room for bags. There was no dining table so two of us had to eat on our knees sitting on the sofa.
Review 106:Great location in Lake Louise Village.
Review 107:One restaurant on site closed for the evening so long long wait in pub on site for food
Review 108:Great ... Booked a room with two double beds as travelling with our 18 yr son and got upgraded to a apartment for 8!!! Good location
Review 109:Reception staff good on admission but a bit slack when we went asking for some help - not inclined to acknowledge us i.e. left us waiting and not attending to others. Most unlike the normal Canadian experience
Review 110:Location and amenities are of a good standard. Unless you are staying at Lake Louise Lodge/Hotel all key attractions are a drive away - not excessive Plenty to see in addition to Lake Louise - all beautiful. I really liked this area.
Review 111:Beds were very, very uncomfortable. Room was clean, but bathroom could have used a really deep cleaning. The price was outrageously high for this room.
Review 112:Free internet, had microwave and a fridge, also had coffee maker.
Review 113:Room was dirty ( walls and floor had food particles and food pieces around bed, curtains and sheets were dirty!!!), and therewasa muggy smell that not even 3 days of fresh air ventilation wasnt enough!
Review 114:Location was close to the village
Review 115:There was one night that we lost hot water service. The management took action to fix the issue. The affected guests got free breakfast.
Review 116:The location is unbeatable. It is very close to Lake Louise and Emerald Lake, an advantage if you want to get up early to catch the sunrise at Lake Louise. The staff is very friendly. One guy at the front desk helped my husband scan a one page document. My lost glasses were also found and saved for me. We stayed three nights in the one bedroom with loft. The apartment was nicer than it looked in the picture. The kitchen was equipped with sufficient cooking ware and plates to serve our cooking need. Although there are only two of us, the apartment can sleep 7-8 people with 4 bunker beds, one murphy bed, one queen size bed and a twin bed.
Review 117:The height of stove was a little high for us.
Review 118:Spacious room with balcony. Very kind and helpful staff. The room was spotless. Wifi was easy to connect and stable.
Review 119:Couple of wall outlets did not work. No AC.
Review 120:The room was quiet, clean and the Italian restaurant for dinner was the best price in town (food was good too).
Review 121:The room was very dark, little natural light and no central light in the room made it feel very enclosed (my photo seems light in comparison to what it was like!)
Review 122:Self contained & good parking spaces, amenities in room were fine for a night or few stay.
Review 123:The bathroom had a 5' counter top then less than 3' to the 5' tub/shower. As an afterthought they put a toilet in the middle. So only 1 person could use the room at a time. And you were wedged in to close the door.
Review 124:Beautiful building in a lovely setting.
Review 125:We were in a block of units where the bus customers stayed and it was very disruptive to our sleep. People above and around us banged and crashed from 5:30am. They spoke at the top of their voices in front of our room and the bus pulled up outside the room at 6am every morning of our stay. If we stayed there again I would request to be put as far away from the bus people as possible. The bus could pull up further away I am sure and tour operators could ask people to be considerate of others trying to sleep!
Review 126:Love the spa and pool. staff very helpful.
Review 127:If the weather is warm there is no AC and only a portable fan for ventilation. Request a room in the newer buildings with larger windows for better ventilation.
Review 128:Close location to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake Fast WIFI
Review 129:Breakfast packages could be improved to offer a more substantial hot choice without having to pay a la carte prices which then works out expensive
Review 130:The location was good with good access to surrounding area.facilities of hotel was good, food in both restaurants was good, service was good
Review 131:The cleaning staff kept knocking at the door at 9am while we were still sleeping.
Review 132:Though the inn was in the town it was ticked away and still felt secluded. It was an easy staging area for all of our excursions. With the loft and the kitchen area there was plenty of room to relax.
Review 133:The room was very clean, quiet, comfortable, roomy and had a nice mountain view off the balcony. Their restaurant had very good food after a busy day. The check-in staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful especially in guidance after being lost.
Review 134:ROOM LIGHTING WAS INADEQUATE. NO READING LIGHTS FOR BED ALCOVE. EARLY MORNING TOUR BUSES IDLING LOUD ENGINES BY ROOMS INSTEAD OF AT CIRCLE BY OFFICE WAS VERY INCONSIDERATE.
Review 135:Wifi was very slow and mostly unusable between 6pm and midnight. Expensive - but then everything is in lake Louise.
Review 136:Great kitchen and good location in lake louise village.
Review 137:Room located on 3rd floor even though reservations were made 8 months in advance. The only ice machine was in the basement. There were no elevators which could have been a problem for folks with mobility issues
Review 138:Very convenient location to National Park Visitor Center as well as the "Campers Village".
Review 139:The room was large and comfortable. We had the guest laundry right outside which was convenient. The restaurant was a bit small but the food was good and the staff friendly and helpful. It was close to Lake Louise and Ten Peaks, with a small selection of shops a 5 minute walk away. My husband and friends used the pool, but I sat on the balcony and read, very relaxing.
Review 140:Many of the washing machines were out of order.
Review 141:Location of hotel was great and the room was comfortable. We were able to get up early and beat the crowds to Lake Louise.
Review 142:No air conditioning , despite info on website. Room was very small, tight squeeze with 2 double beds, hardly any space to put out luggage for 3. Furnishings all quite old & dated . Relatively expensive for standard of room & facilities
Review 143:Convenient location near lake Louise
