Reviews for Hotel les Touristes

Review 1:Just the sound - proofing between rooms not great. Most guests respectful of this so was only unlucky one night.

Review 2:Comfortable, clean and warm. Staff very kind and helpful. Location good, free shuttle bus stops outside but also walk to centre easy and quick - uphill yes, but no drama and an enjoyable start. Return walk especially easy. Verbier so expensive it was amazing to find Les Touristes - old school charm, not fancy but all you need.

Review 3:Poor breakfast no variety, tight schedule for breakfast, no flexibility. Definitaly needs renovation on all points, staff to rooms furniture everything. "Leaving" area is actually overtaken by the tenant's belongings. Will not recommend it to any of my friends... Good luck

Review 4:Too far from city centre. WiFi didn't work in room. Room too small. Shared bathroom had weird noisy cleaning sound effect. Could not use common area in evenings as housekeeper slept close by

Review 5:Never seen a smaller room. Barely big enough for the single bed, which was slightly narrower than a standard single.

Review 6:Liked the fact we could get a beer at 11.30pm.

Review 7:The host, Eva, was friendly and warm. The breakfast was generous. The room and bed were comfortable. The price, location and company were all good.

Review 8:Resonance from footsteps, doors opening and closing, every word could be heard across the paper-thin walls. We found ourselves whispering so as not to disturb.

Review 9:Wonderful view from the balcony. Comfortable beds. Free WiFi. Great breakfast included. Piano in the reception area. Quite close to town centre but a tough uphill walk for those not in shape.

Review 10:we had a problem with the distance to the centre of town as we are late sixties and it was a week of great heat, and also perhaps people should be told about restaurants closing very early, as first night we arrived too late for dinner.

Review 11:we thought the hotel very clean and for the price in Verbier very reasonable

Review 12:Decor tired and dated, but this is not uncommon in the area. Walls between rooms are very thin wood, so privacy not guaranteed!

Review 13:Good views and surroundings, nice and knowledgeable manager who has lived in the area for many years.

Review 14:Tiny room, en suite bathroom was a cubicle in corner. Signs everywhere warning you that if you did something wrong you'd be fined. Especially unpleasant one about not leaving 'body fluids' about in your room

Review 15:cheaper than anywhere else in Verbier

Review 16:I liked everything!!

Review 17:Friendly staff. One nice lady went out of her way to do a favor for me. I felt welcome from the first minute. Obviously tired from the trip, I was offered water on arrival, and a welcome drink at the restaurant/bar. Take the path up next to the hand carve wooden mill on the stream in old town.

Review 18:If for some reason you decide to walk and have no sense of adventure or completely out of shape, then you will find the walk up to the centre of town or the lifts tiring. Back down is fine.

Review 19:Best part of our stay were the two hostesses. They made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. They even supplied missing AAA batteries for one of our avalanche beacons and got us map quest direction to our next stay in Zermatt. The free bus outside the door was perfect to get us into town and the lifts at Medran. Bus runs from 8:20 -5:30. Free breakfast had everything needed to start off the day. Gluttons beware...This is not a 5* all inclusive buffet. Just delicious breads & croissant, fruits, yogurt, juices, cafe and tea. Hot chocolate too.

Review 20:good service, room was pretty small, but we were out all day so it was no problem, just noticed at first and didn't think about it at all after that. Staff was always ready to help. Swimming pool and sauna where like 10-15 min walk nearby. I recommend, only pay for sauna, because the swimming pool and the jacuzzi where not heated. 20 min walk up hill to the main restaurant area. Don't think that was a problem because there where free bus that go form, just in front of the hotel. It stops going like 17:30 but u can take taxi if u don´t like to walk for the same price as one beer. (if u are 4 or more people)

Review 21:Limited access to ski lifts. Need to take a bus or 30 minute walk. Thin walls. Hope your neighbours are as quiet as you are!

Review 22:Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful surrounds of the old stone church and old village. Relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere.

Review 23:1. The Mattress was Old and very soft with no support. 2. The WiFi reception was almost not available in the room.

Review 24:The owner is outstanding: 1. Offered me to eat breakfast on the second i arrived - 09:30am (earlier than the regular check in time) 2. Offered me to leave my Baggage at the hotel after check out and even to take a shower before i leave once i will come back from snowboarding with no additional charge 3. The hotel is Super clean ! 4. Very good value for money

Review 25:Ski room was a little small but we spilled over into the hallway without any fuss Noise could carry between rooms

Review 26:Breakfast was so good We were kindly helped by staff beyond expectations Comfortable hotel that was our base for a great long weekend We would choose Les Touristes again

Review 27:It was a bit far from the action but then I didn't mind at all really. It snowed and the walk down the hill was not for those who don't have proper shoes.

Review 28:I enjoyed the authenticy - this place is real! Very cozy and clean as a pin!

Review 29:There is a free bus that takes you to the ski lifts from right outside the hotel. BUT at night if you want to walk into town it is as vertical as the matterhorn! You are exhausted after 5 minutes. I did manage to get the paid bus up one night, best Fr3 ever spent, but these stop quite early.

Review 30:I paid approx £50 a night for b & in a single room with a shared shower.Compared to all other accommodation in Verbier this was a steal. The room was fine bed comfortable and breakfast great. I got a balcony, room6, and one of my friends had no balcony but bigger room, room10.You really do get what you pay for here but we had no complaints as regards the hotel accommodation.

Review 31:A little far from the heart of the village, and some rooms a little noisy from traffic.

Review 32:Good basic accommodation for Skiers. Close to the free Navette to the lift.

Review 33:Could hear people in other rooms but house rules clear on respecting other peoples' need to sleep were adhered to even by youngsters in room next to mine so not a big deal. Skibus stops quite early in the evening but it's a downhill walk from the village centre after the apres-ski so again no big deal.

Review 34:20 yards from free skibus stop Restaurant serving traditional home-made local food Comfortable beds Free wifi Excellent continental breakfast included Brilliant self-cleaning toilets!!! Must be seen!

Review 35:Pretty inconvenient location due to the inconsistent bus service. It's possible to walk the back roads from the centre but when it's icy and you have ski boots on it can take a while. Buses stop really early (5:30pm!) and are weirdly timed and the 5 minute taxi in to town costs 20 CHF. The owner tried to bill my card for our entire group, without my permission, 2 days before we checked out so be careful to let her know if you intend to pay cash. It was difficult to communicate with the owner as my French is limited and she speaks no English at all it seems...

Review 36:Clean, warm, decent basic breakfast, very good coffee, comfy beds. Fine as a base to crash between hitting the snow and the Apres. Relatively cheap compared to other places that were available on our last-minute booking for New Year's.

Review 37:walls very very very thin. Room small (but that is the value tradeoff).

Review 38:location - easy walk to Medran lift (15 mins); very clean room, and very clean shared wc and shower; very good value

Review 39:The cost of the room for one night reflected what we expected to be an average hotel, I would say this was more an expensive hostel

Review 40:The bed was comfortable and the owner very friendly.

Review 41:Thin walls as you can hear everything around

Review 42:Great hostess taking care of guests. Close to a bus stop which is convenient to go to Medran ski lift

Review 43:couldn't get into property even with the code and the coffee was freezing

Review 44:comfy, warm and clean room and lovely friendly lady

Review 45:Nothing

Review 46:Everything, but overall nelly and her husband (they are the workers and the owners). The are so helpful and so kind. They r fantastic!!!

Review 47:Not very noise proof

Review 48:Nice welcome from the owners, feels like a B&B

Review 49:The stuffs are very friendly, a pleasant stay!

Review 50:Staff was very friendly and though it was older house it was proper and clean. The place had charm!

Review 51:Good location. Easy to get to skiing (free bus that stops right in front of the hotel). Quiet. Clean. Good breakfast.

Review 52:Good value for money, excellent in-house restaurant, friendly, good breakfast, next to bus stop so very easy to reach ski lifts.

Review 53:Very basic shared shower facilities

Review 54:Low price In genuine old Verbier Village

Review 55:Floor very slippery when stepping out of the shower

Review 56:Nothing, it was great

Review 57:Very clean, nice breakfast incredibly relaxing

Review 58:No bath only showers

Review 59:Cecile who runs the hotel is a kind and very helpful person who went the extra mile to make my stay fabulous

Review 60:Sweet staff and good service

Review 61:Nothing to complain about

Review 62:Convenient location and value for money for a stay in over-priced Verbier. Friendly welcome and good breakfast,

Review 63:An affordable place in an overpriced town.

Review 64:the staff.and its very cozy

Review 65:Distance from the Medran lift

Review 66:Staff Cleanliness Good Breakfasts

Review 67:a bit run down, could use some new decor, carpets etc.

Review 68:Friendly, helpful owners: good location, acceptable breakfast.

Review 69:Very thin walls - some guests noisy

Review 70:Friendly owner Value for money

Review 71:need to walk a while from the cable station if you are on public transportation.

Review 72:warm atmosphere. Friendly staff. Close to supermarket (MIGROS)

Review 73:The hotel staff owner treated me like family. All went above and beyond.

Review 74:Would love to see the restaurant up and running.

Review 75:Our host Samuel went out of his way to make us feel at home. Loved the history and authenticity.

Review 76:- Way to expensive for what is offered - Extremely small rooms - Shower, toilet, sink unacceptably small and old

Review 77:- Location close to city center

Review 78:Heating was rationed and only available in the morning and evening.

Review 79:Small hotel

Review 80:The staff and actually the owner were very helpful, clean room

Review 81:Very friendly and helpful staff, Quick walk into Verbier Centre 15-25 minutes for relatively fit adult, Very clean and well maintained by staff, Right next to free bus navette,

Review 82:Nothing. All good.

Review 83:Outstanding value for money in Verbier. Close to the bus stop so loaction wasn't a problem at all. Basic but it had everything we needed. Didn't expect clean towels every day, breakfast, wi-fi. Shared bathrooms simply weren't a problem. We never had to wait even with the hotel pretty full. Staggering uninterrupted views of the mountians.

Review 84:Accommodation more basic than expected. Not as easy to get into Verbier as described

Review 85:Ability to book only two nights , many hotels in Verbier want full week at peak times

Review 86:The pillows, like many French and Swiss hotels are not that comfortable.

Review 87:The proprietor, Madam Eve is very nice and provides a good breakfast with very clean, warm and welcoming environment, with plenty of hot water. It was what we needed ; a decent place to shower and sleep as we were there to ski. There was a place for our boots and skis and it is beside the bus stop.

Review 88:Bed was very soft and room slightly noisy from road outside. Moved to a room at the back of the property for the last night which was much quieter.

Review 89:Delicious fresh bread and home made preserves for breakfast, free parking, walking distance to main restaurant and shopping area but uphill so difficult with skis but ski bus stop very close although slightly irregular service.

Review 90:Gave us good access to Verbia with its free buses to the cable cars and on to the slopes. The Hotel is Old but more than comfortable with a nice family restraunt down stairs. It is clean and presentable but not posh but full of charm and would use it again.

Review 91:Room only cleaned once in 5 days. Staff spoke little to no English. Bit far out of verbier, but this is why it was cheaper than others. Still expensive to stay though.

Review 92:Price for verbier as a resort. Breakfast included in rate. 20% discount in restaurant below hotel. Beautiful location.

Review 93:Very small rooms, bad breakfast with poor choice and if you come after 8 am everything is gone, my towel didn't get changed all week, the shuttle runs very seldom to the ski station and Verbier, it's walkable but not if there is ice on the steep road down to the hotel, or with your skis, don't stay here unless you have no choice or if you can afford a bit more stay somewhere else!

Review 94:Free parking. This is an overpriced shoebox hotel a bit outside of town with a poor shuttle connection, bad breakfast

Review 95:Rooms are very small indeed. If sharing, you will have to live out of a suitcase. Showers are shared with strangers but are well maintained. Road is noisy outside so bring earplugs. Note that conti-plug sockets are deep set so many travel adaptors will not reach into them sufficiently to work. I charged my phone and iPad each evening in the breakfast area with no problem.

Review 96:Rustic, historic, charming, village location, old Verbier, peaceful, 30 seconds from PostBus stops. Fast free wifi, piping hot water with good pressure, sinks in all rooms. Gorgeous views.

Review 97:Leaving

Review 98:It has wonderful views and is quiet due to not being in the centre of town. IT is only a short walk into town and the bus stop is just outside the door if you want to go out. There is a restaurant down stairs that has lovely food. Staff are helpful and friendly and keep it very clean. It may be small but it is all you need when you are skiing as you want to rest at night. This also stops loud drunken groups staying as there is no bar. all in all it was perfect for us. We would definitely stay again.

Review 99:if you miss the bus at 17:20 it's a long walk to the center... The rooms are very tiny and could use a refurbishment.

Review 100:The staff was really nice and welcoming and the restaurant is very good. Real value for money!

Review 101:The main bit of Verbier is a short walk up the hill and is no problem - however when you have all your ski kit on you'd be advised to take the bus as it can get quite icy. This isn't a problem but the bus timetable was a bit erratic with 2h gaps in service from about 8h30 till 10h30 and 2h30 to 4h which seemed a bit strange. Nit-picking as thats the only thing I can think of...

Review 102:In the beautiful Old Verbier, Hotel les Touristes is a welcoming Hostel with everything you should really need for your stay. Felt nice and homely and suited our needs perfectly.

Review 103:Despite the price being reasonable for the area you still feel like you've had your throat cut paying US$200 per night for a 10-12 square metre room (#8) where the winter cold seeps in through the external windows and house keeping turns the in-room heating off so you come back to a cold room. Internal walls are thin also. The restaurant was fine and friendly one night, rude and lacking another. Also, if their claim of "best fondue in town" is correct, Verbier is not the place to go to experience fondue.

Review 104:Perfectly adequate dare I say it "budget" accommodation, it is priced reasonably for Verbier. Location outside the village but only 5 min by bus into the centre. Comfortable beds. Parking & basic breakfast included.

Review 105:Breakfast dull & same every day En suite shower & loo v poor Shame there was no comfy lounge This place could be so much better with just a few add ons

Review 106:Fondue downstairs Value in expensive verbier Great views V authentic old style swiss

Review 107:Had a musty smell in the hallway like all hostels.

Review 108:Good location. Not close to the lifts but easy walk and bus stop is right next door. The community bathroom and shower are very clean. Manager was nice but doesn't speak English so a bit tough. She does speak Italian and understands Spanish.

Review 109:Bus up to ski lifts bit irregular- not a fault of the hotel but keep in mind when booking accom.

Review 110:Great value for money in an expensive resort. Clean, warm and comfortable. Friendly owners. Breakfast included

Review 111:They did a "bait and switch". I had booke a three room place, then they changed it to two separate rooms and charged more! And thiswas after they confirmed our reservation. I'm very upset. They alsoscrewed us on dinner! We wanted to share 1 order of fondu for $22 euros, then the bill came and they charged us for 3 orders and made us pay.Never again!

Review 112:Leaving there

Review 113:Not in the town centre but this is reflected in the excellent rates

Review 114:This is a very cheap hotel for verbier. It is clean and comfortable and serves a good breakfast. But it is not in the town centre.

Review 115:The room was small but we knew that in advance from reading the reviews on here. Don't expect a luxurious room but they are clean and comfortable and excellent value for money.

Review 116:Clean, inexpensive, well located, easy to find and the owner was lovely and helpful.

Review 117:No complaints at all.

Review 118:Lovely setting, room small but very comfortable, very reasonable price for Verbier. Very helpful re mountain bike storage. Proprietor and staff very pleasant and helpful. Fresh bread and cheese excellent.

Review 119:would prefer more choice for breakfast, eg, more than 1 cereal, selection of croissants.

Review 120:clean comfortable rooms, a good walk out of town but good for fitness after a day's skiing !!!!! breakfast fine but would like more choice

Review 121:The buses to Medran (main skilift) Verbier did not go on a regular basis. Important to check schedule in the mornings and afternoons.

Review 122:Friendly staff Clean rooms

Review 123:Great value in a very expensive resort. Good location, lovely views, nice if simple breakfast. Not posh in the slightest, but if you don't mind a bit of simplicity it's a great option.

Review 124:Nothing, really. It met my expectations. Great value for the money considering how expensive Verbier is.

Review 125:Verbier is incredibly expensive and as a solo skier, I try to save where I can. The free bus service into town with ski gear was easy and reliable and the walk up the hill with normal shoes into town was 10-15 minutes. The proprietor and her staff are very nice. Although my room was small, had an amazing view and it was wonderfully quiet.

Review 126:Probably the only reasonably priced hotel in Verbier and has everything you need for a short stay. Bus stops outside hotel and goes direct to ski lift. One can also walk to the lifts if one is fit enough.

Review 127:Views, everything and Eva was so helpful

Review 128:The breakfast is very poor.

Review 129:Cozy small hotel. Friendly staff. Good price comparing to the rest living in Verbier. Cleaning every day.

Review 130:The price...for Verbier!!! Great breakfast "Ambiance famille"
