Review 1：The hosts are lovely and the dinner is wonderful, prepared with heart. The view of the hotel facing Lauterbrunnen valley is simply magical! Impressive!

Review 2：Annamarie was very helpful with us as we had to deal with baggage and travel issues. Also, the breakfast staff was very courteous and attentive. The best part of the hotel was the view we had of our deck overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley and Jungfrau.

Review 17：Outdated hotel old heavy furniture ran by a lady who needs to learn that customer service is not cashing money from tourists but starts with saying Hello?! No staff of the reception if you can call that reception, salute. Maybe it's hotel policy? But then change your stars to 2-3 that would actually match the condition of the hotel. The bed was not changed during our 5 nights stay!!! Is this a new policy for 4 stars? Breakfast was good but completely identical every single day. Oh well except that the fruits kept becoming less and less day by day and no replenishment. The breakfast staff were helpful but the lady kept spying the plates how much people eat. At over 300 francs per night this is unacceptable. You pay purely for view. But we came to know that everything has a nice view in wengen.

Review 18：View. balcony. Location but wengen is a small village anyways so everything is within good location But is it worth to pay 300 francs a night for the view you enjoy during morning and evening only? Unless you stay home and no activities.

Review 19：Restaurant was closed at 20:30 already so when we arrived there was no option to dine (even though the cook passed us..). We just just suggested 'to try in the city, but do not expect restaurants being open since we all dine early'. No attempt to call or make reservations for us, that was it. Room with nice view but also lots of noise since breakfast down the balcony.

Review 23：Breakfast staff was impersonal to the point of rudeness. The owner was a gruff old woman who was only focused on occupancy, and not the occupants. Every evening she, from the office next to the lift, reminded every passing guest that they needed to settle the bill - she did that to us a second time AFTER we had settled it 30min previously! They tried to constantly hard-sell their dinner restaurant. Expensive pricing for a very basic accommodation.

Review 24：Excellent, convenient location and very good view. Reasonably clean albeit the bathroom was stinking when we checked in and we ended up cleaning it ourselves as housekeeping staff wasn't due until the next day.

Review 25：I had requested for a firm mattress at the time of booking but didnt get any response. Since i didnt feel comfortable with the bed after first night's sleep i complained about it the very next day. They realised that the bed was partly broken & immediately rectified it. I would have expected them to check the condition of bed before guests check in!

Review 28：The views of Lauterbrunnen valley from our balcony was breath taking. The hotel is conveniently located near the railway station, this matters a lot since Wengen is a car free town and we need to drag our luggage to the hotel. The rooms were of comfortable size.

Review 29：The views of the valley and mountains were spectacular. We paid a bit more for the Jungfrau facing rooms with a balcony and were not disappointed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was also only a few hundred feet from the Wengen train station and town which was great for our oldest traveler who is 81.

Review 30：really few details, probably just one... our room needed some "refreshment" (hotel looks really modern outside, as well as the restaurant, when u enter the bedroom it looks like you're in another place, but still... it's just a detail)

Review 32：The hotel isn't posh but it's clean, has a good free breakfast, and the views of the alps from the rooms are unparalleled, even at significantly more expensive hotels.

Review 33：Only minus was not the fault of the hotel but the parking situation in Lauterbrunnen. The main car park here can be full at busy times adding about 1hr to your journey as you drive back or further down the valley to find a park and ride parking space, this can involves a chilly wait for a bus back into Lauterbrunnen. Parking can be booked in advance but only for a minimum of 5 days which doesn't really help for weekend's or overnighters. A tip would be to park in Interlaken or Wilderswil and get the very enjoyable train ride upto Wengen from there, this only adds about 20 mins to your trip and saves the hassle or driving around looking for parking.

Review 34：We stayed for 2 night's over new years at hotel caprice. Views from the valley facing rooms are amazing/breathtaking, no noise at all from outside or inside the hotel means a very sound sleep. Breakfast was ok (selection of meats, cheeses and eggs etc) The food we had from the restaurant for the New Years meal was exception value and was well presented. The rooms were only renovated 2-3 years ago but still feel a bit dated and have a very 90's ring to the decor. Rooms clean and tidy though so nothing too off putting ( most swiss hotels seem to go for the retro 90's look :/ pink bathroom tiles???) Would class the hotel as a 3.5* rather than a 4* as the facilities and finish could be a bit smarter. (Compared to say the Hotel Beveldere across town which has some really swagger and character). Price is also very high for an midrange hotel (you are really paying for the views and location rather than for the hotel quality) Overall, very happy with this hotel, staff very friendly and warm.

Review 53：We had a great stay at this lovely hotel at Wengen. We were upgraded to Junior Suite for just CHF20 and OMG... the view from the room balcony was stunning. It was facing the mountains and we spent hours sitting at balcony looking at the mesmerizing scenery. The hotel was perfectly located next to the train station and market. The staff was nice and breakfast was good. We wish we could stay more in Wengen and especially at this hotel

Review 54：The staff was excellent including the restaurant. We stayed there for 3 nights and it is a perfect base for nearby excursions. We could not ask for anything better for our first trip to Switzerland and woul stay at this place again when we return.

We were given a suite and when they found we would not make breakfast as we were early on the train to Jung Frau, they prepared a breakfast box for us. An amazing hotel in every way. Review 57：It is magical when the fog lifts from the mountains surrounding Wengen. Hotel Caprice is ideally suited for hiking, and a very short walk from the train station. The complimentary breakfasts were just right.

Staff were lovely, food in the restaurant was great, and breakfast was more than sufficient. The little village was lovely to wonder around,and the day trips available including hikes was many. We had a great visit but watch out for altitude sickness when up on the viewing deck.

The Fine Print

Please note that Wengen is a car-free village. You can reach Wengen only by train. Park your car at Lauterbrunnen Station and take the train to Wengen. The train ride to Wengen takes approximately 20 minutes. It runs every 25 minutes during the day and every hour in the evening until 24:00.
