Reviews for Rimrock Resort Hotel

Review 1:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were nice. The view from our room was quite obscured by trees. We asked staff if it was possible to change and they gave us multiple different options at no extra charge. Our second room had beautiful views of the mountains.

Review 2:no complimentary water and no jacuzzi, rooms were not very well cleaned and late cleaning and too early other days

Review 3:jacuzzi would have been nice for the price of the premium rooms and no complimentary water was not available.

Review 4:Our room was right over the entrance. It was loud and we could not keep our drapes open without feeling exposed. I feel there should be a discount for those rooms. I think there are many fabulous rooms - we just didn't get one.

Review 5:The concierge service is fabulous. The ski storage service was helpful and the staff in general are helpful and accommodating. The food and drinks in restaurants were very good.

Review 6:Requested a luggage cart for our check-out from our room down to the car, but it never came.

Review 7:Very accommodating considering we were a spur of the moment booking.

Review 8:Hotel ran out of hot water at 7pm. Tried to call front desk room phone didn't work. Called on cell was told no hot water and if we didn't run the hot water eventually there would be hot water again. Asked manager if they had notified all the other guests not to run hot water. Had a dinner reservation for 8 had to have a cold shower. Expect more for a 500 dollar room. No apology no comp and very poorly handled by management. Will not go again.

Review 9:We should have stayed a little longer than 4 nights.

Review 10:We travelled from New Zealand to experience a white Christmas, with our children and grandchildren and the facilities kept us all entertained. Far exceeded our expectations. Great Christmas activities for the children.

Review 11:No dressing gowns in the room. Change room in the spa rather small. Change room door opens to public area whilst women changing in room.

Review 12:The views are spectacular and the food in the various restaurants really good. Massage therapist gave a lovely massage.

Review 13:Our 1st room was noisey from a maintenance room next door and freezing cold with the heating not working. Temperature at the time -20

Review 14:The pool and hot tub. The reception area and convenient location to Banff and ski hills. Room was changed upon request following complaint.

Review 15:When we booked the room the rate was $ 258.00 and when we checked in Rate went to $308.00.I cant even go to another hotel was they were all full.Hotel staff said we are busy on sat. This is not fair and i am not going back again

Review 16:The upkeep of the room was most disappointing. I had hoped to enjoy a bath first evening but noticed a rather distinctive ring around the tub which would scrape off with my finger nail. I spoke with front desk, someone immediately "dealt" with it. However, next day when we showered it became evident why there was such a ring - the bathtub did not drain and we ended up with 2" of water in the bottom of the tub - not terribly appealing.

Review 17:The staff are simply terrific and made our two days there most delightful.

Review 18:Beautiful hotel! We booked last minute with a large group (transferred from BSH where our Christmas party was canceled - not their fault) and the staff at the Rimrock, specifically the Primrose dining room, went above and beyond to accommodate us. Thank you!

Review 19:No bad experiences..only thing I would say is the fixtures in my bathroom needed some attention - bathtub chipped and looking worn specifically. Extremely minor concern in terms of the whole stay, which was great.

Review 20:Beautiful location/property, gorgeous hotel with stunning scenery. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful!

Review 21:i wish you didn't have to pay extra for every little thing and the coffee in the room is mediocre.

Review 22:great room & atmosphere and very helpful staff

Review 23:No reservations for the breakfast.

Review 24:Went to propose in Banff and the staff took amazing care of us! The spa staff took care of my fiancé and her future bridesmaids the next day with great treatments!!

Review 25:Oustanding staff...everwhere! Eden restaurant has improved out of sight. Great value for money. Food is great. So good, that the view is no longer required.

Review 26:Hotel is well maintained, looks new and we had a room with an outstanding view. Location is easy to get to and staff were first class, courteous, helpful

Review 27:The premium room was amazing - the bed was so comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Incredible views and friendly staff made this an outstanding hotel to round-off our holiday in Canada.

Review 28:Beautiful hotel and nice location -- walking distance to Banff Gondolas. We ate at the Primrose restaurant and it was wonderful! Overall a great stay.

Review 29:parking fee too far out of town - unable to walk parking fee fireplace in lobby wasn't on

Review 30:Nice upgrade for the room Staff were lovely hotel could use some reno's

Review 31:Complained about the fact that the A/C would not shut off but nothing was ever done. No offer of another room.

Review 32:very cooperative staff in that they drove us and picked us up where we wanted to go.

Review 33:Bathroom a little small..parking quite challenging

Review 34:View from the premium king room was world class. Friendly and helpful staff. Beds quite comfortable

Review 35:I forgot 2 sentimental rings in the room. Within 24 hrs of contacting housekeeping I had them in my hands. I was so grateful for the exceptional service!

Review 36:Our obstructed view turned out to be a great view of Bow Valley and a corner of the next room. No privacy invaded just the view slightly limited. A bit out of town but the free bus is so useful.

Review 37:The staff could do a better job of ensuring guests are minding their children. The Rimrock is a classy, quality hotel and children should not be permitted to scream and splash in the pool, and staff should not have to hesitate to hand out warnings to parents.

Review 38:We stayed in a premium king room over the long weekend. Best view of any hotel room I've ever seen, wonderful bed, clean everywhere. Definitely get an upper story room, facing out back if possible. The pool's changing rooms and sauna/steam room were clean and spacious. Staff friendly, took our bags to our room and provided us with all necessary information about getting to and from town, and services offered by the hotel. Check in isn't as fast as some other places, but they are very professional. Loved the birds of prey exhibit!

Review 39:The front desk agent at check in didn't gave us all informations( bus pass to town, etc.)

Review 40:Everything was excellent, the cleanliness of room to impress.

Review 41:The staff was incredibly attentive to us and our wants/needs in spite of the fact that the hotel was very busy (holiday weekend AND three weddings in the facility). We were only staying the one night but we felt like the most important guests.

Review 42:Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful Decor, comfortable beds. Location a little way out of Banff, but not a problem as free shuttle bus was available. Lovely 3k walk downhill through the forest in the daylight.

Review 43:James Park at front desk was super helpful and informative. Emma at the spa gave an amazing massage. The salad and appetizers at Primrose was delicious. The view from the suite was breath taking. I would definitely recommend! Nicole From Vancouver

Review 44:Bathtub water does not flow well, told housekeeping, no action taken, told staff while checking out, no response. This is pretty bad

Review 45:Location, room floor and scene

Review 46:Our first dinner in the Primrose was first class. The waitress was excellent.the Friday night dinner with the buffet was a let down as service was not as good. We were seated next to,a very loud table of young people who referred to themselves as executives.

Review 47:The additional cost of parking the over all cost per night I found high as well and had there been other hotels for better rates available I would have stayed closer to the town of Banff

Review 48:The views were amazing, the staff was very helpful and accommodating from the vale that collected my luggage to the concierge that suggested an amazing restaurant to experience to the little touches like offering a free bus pass to clients I thought was very nice considering there proximity to the town of Banff

Review 49:Excellent service, all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We had great advice from concierge. Lovely big room, super comfy bed. Food was excellent. Would definitely recommend it, we had thought about staying at Banff Springs and did go to see it, it was beautiful, but we felt everything was much more personal at the Rimrock and much more peaceful. If you are deciding between the two, I would say stay here and go to the Banff springs for a look!

Review 50:A little farther from downtown Banff than other locations

Review 51:Staff were friendly and helpful, service was great, as well as the view. The hot springs were close by and a wonderful way to wind down in the evening

Review 52:The restaurant service was poor especially for this caliber of hotel. We ate at the Primrose the first night and had terrible service (to the point we wouldn't go back for breakfast). We opted to eat at the Larkspur the next night and service was much better but still not great.

Review 53:The location was amazing with views of the mountains. The valet staff were so friendly & helpful. The pool & hot tub were very nice with a very good change area. The cafe was very convenient for coffee or snacks. The proximity to the gondola & hot springs was fantastic.

Review 54:Standard is inferior - we booked a standard room, this equals no view at all. Wifi in standard rooms is more or less not existing, because you are on "a lower level"...

Review 55:Comforters on beds were too hot. We had a hard time sleeping, then get cold and put back on and then Hot again. Was not able to get into Spa 10 days out. Parking too expensive.

Review 56:The Views were great. The hotel was great in guiding to hiking trails that were good etc. Food was great.

Review 57:The coffeemaker in room was broken and when I called the front desk they sent someone up with a kettle. When I asked for another coffeemaker I felt like I was putting him out, and I never did get another coffeemaker. I was checking out that morning and when asked how was my stay I informed them of what happened and the girl just giggled...but they still charged me $18 to self park my car overnight.

Review 58:Very beautiful hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were very comfortable.

Review 59:I ordered two desserts from room service one night for my niece & I. Immediately after placing the order, they called back to let me know one of the things I ordered was no longer available so I doubled up on the other dessert. When they delivered the desserts, neither were what we had ordered. The delivery staff insisted it was the chocolate mousse with salted caramel - what I was looking at was a white mousse with fruit on top. When I called down to room service again, they said they were sorry but the other dessert I had ordered was no longer available either so they just sent what they had - and charged me for it! They said they would give me a 15% discount. Really? You took the liberty of substituting what I ordered for what you had leftover, delivered it and tried to convince me it was what I ordered and then continued to charge me for it? I've never encountered such poor customer service.

Review 60:the location was stunning and access to downtown Banff was quick and easy.

Review 61:For the price I don't see why complimentary breakfast is not included.

Review 62:Fantastic hotel with lovely views and perfectly secluded from busy town. They give free bus passes to catch the shuttle bus which drops you right into Banff in 5 minutes or to the Sulphur mountain gondola. Wonderful staff who are extremely helpful.

Review 63:Concierge was quite rude and unhelpful, location is not very close to town center (you have to take a shuttle which comes every 20 minutes) Wifi is slow / sometimes doesn't work from room. Finishings in bathroom old. Way too overpriced

Review 64:The room was comfortable

Review 65:Unlike other hotels it is far from town and a 5km uphill walk. This is the tradeoff for the peaceful setting. With the transit this is definitely worth it and not an inconvenience. The top floor rooms with the valley view were underwhelming but no legitimate complaints.

Review 66:Quiet location away from the noisy town. Easily accessible by transit which stops at the front door. Very friendly engaging front doormen who are the first contact upon arrival. If you have a room on the east side, majestic views of the valley. 3 minute walk to Hot Springs, tram, and hike to Sulphur Mtn. Also has a lot of underground parking. Larkspur lounge offers an opportunity to enjoy the view of the valley. Even at peak season like a weekend in the er it never seems crowded or busy.

Review 67:Quiet and picturesque location next to the Upper Hot Springs and Sulphur Mountain gondola. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The hotel has excellent amenities and good restaurants. Very efficient and friendly staff.

Review 68:Poor value for money, receptionist's attitude was in need of improvement. some of them seemed too busy to smile

Review 69:Clean room, quiet environment, comfortable beds

Review 70:TV is very small for room. No fan in bathroom. Beds are small. No top sheet on bed. Handle on tap kept falling off. Pool is small for such a big hotel.

Review 71:Beds were comfortable but seemed small. Room was clean. Staff very attentive.

Review 72:The bathroom fixtures were falling apart . The shower handle fell off . Bathroom wall under the sink counter was stained and dirty. There was unfriendly staff at the front door upon our arrival who did not even extend a welcome or assistance to us and just told us where to park. After a long drive you would want to be welcomed warmly at the hotel .

Review 73:The beautiful view, free shuttle to town, the pool area, beds were so comfortable. Distance from gondola.

Review 74:Paying for parking made me feel that the ethos of this hotel is, first and foremost, to separate me from my money. It was unnecessary and a bit 'grasping'.

Review 75:Great welcome, spectacular views.

Review 76:No bad experiences at all.....just that it would have been nice to have a heated pool!

Review 77:The staff, their eagerness to help, the oval location, facilities.

Review 78:Front Office took long time to give the room. Carpark fee. Not in town. Theredore no place in walking distance

Review 79:Luxury hotel with mountain view. Close to thermal pool. Clean and large rooms. Walking distance to gondola and Sulphur Mountain.

Review 80:When I checked out I had mentioned that the bathroom door from the inside seemed like it was missing a screw and the drain in the sink had popped off. The lady at the desk seemed very understanding and was concerned about our stay. However, when she showed my comments to the Supervisor, she didn't seem pleased about the fixes we noted and I felt like I was being chastised for not mentioning the problems earlier so that engineering could fix it while we were out.

Review 81:Loved our room and was considering buying the tv, pillows, comforter, paintings, and light fixtures. Hayley, the spa receptionist and Sara were fabulous and the spa pool/weight room facilities were wonderful. Eating in the Primrose room was a very nice treat.

Review 82:Never in a million years is it worth 500 a night , then on top charging for every extra Little thing, parking, extra adult, a cot... Water in room. It's got a view , that's about it.

Review 83:The view

Review 84:Did not know about a breakfast. Was it included? Dinner menu was limited and pricey. Room was small compared to the pictures.

Review 85:Ease of access to parking. Very helpful concierge. Beautiful hotel.

Review 86:I can't say there was anything I didn't like.

Review 87:The whole experience was amazing. From location to view to staff to food. We have recommended to several people and we will be back.

Review 88:overpriced. also, the pillows were rock hard. and the room was very dusty - the nightstand, phone, table lamp, remote. all looked like they have never been dusted. would also like more in the bathroom - shower cap, slippers.

Review 89:location was good. away from the crowds/city. gym was nice.

Review 90:Loved staying at the Rimrock. The staff was wonderful, the hotel was beautiful. What a treat it was to see two Elk lay down on the lawn one evening.

Review 91:Front desk staff need to focus less on the computer screen and more on what their guests are saying and requesting.

Review 92:Location and the view from our roomm

Review 93:The Free wifi wasn't the best but everything else was great.

Review 94:Very well appointed rooms, great facilities, friendly and helpful staff. It was quiet and we saw wildlife right outside our window.

Review 95:One of the nicer hotels I've stayed at. After a long drive and after a day full of activites it was great to come back to a comfy bed, and excellent pool facilities. Staff was extremely friendly

Review 96:Staff was outstanding. Your front doorman, bellman Jeff was spectacular. Dinner at Eden was wonderful, Robert, the sommelier was insightful, funny and engaging, Chad the manager was attentive, engaging, and always there to make sure everything was great and satisfactory. It was a wonderful dinner. Thank you.

Review 97:Check-in took a half hour with three people beginning each time with the script if "Do you have a car?" Check-in was with a menu approach of questions and was slow and impersonal. I was told by one of the three that I did not need two queen beds because there were only two if us. I an not used to being told 2hat I need, especially when I am paying 400.00 per night. We were fortunate to get the Rimrock fir our oast-minute business and family trip combined, but based on my check-in experience, I will never go back.

Review 98:Quiet location above Banff town center, walking distance to gondola, large rooms, view

Review 99:We had an issue with our air conditioner but it was resolved very promptly and to our satisfaction.

Review 100:We loved the great customer service and attention to detail of the employees. The wait staff in particular were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

Review 101:No hooks on the bathroom door to hang extra towels.

Review 102:Liked the greeting of the valet person as soon as we arrived. Very courteous staff. Great view from our room of the mountains.

Review 103:There is not too much to criticize, as the staff are helpful and friendly, although calling a "cocktail bar" the Diva's bar then finding out it is really a sports bar, is a bit of a let down.

Review 104:The staff were excellent and the one dinner we had was very tasty, however the hotel does feel like it needs to be updated. The main reason to stay here is for the view, however if you are put in one of the rooms that only look up the mountain rather than down valley then I think you could be disappointed, as the view down into the Valley is pretty spectacular.

Review 105:impersonal concierge, impersonal hostess at Primrose, dusty chairs, smallish bath, thin walls (could hear neighbors), room somewhat dated/non-descript, lots of noisy tourists/tour groups milling or waiting around the small lobby, price

Review 106:very personable, friendly and helpful valet attendents; breathtaking views from our room

Review 107:We enjoyed the whole property, pool, squash courts, but especially the very friendly and helpful doormen who went out of their way to offer not only great service but advice on the free shuttle and when we missed it by moments, one drove us down to the town for dinner!

Review 108:Free WiFi was painfully slow. To get Premium cost money and way too much effort. It's a nice hotel. Don't penny pinch on WiFi. It cheapens the whole experience.

Review 109:They charged from my credit card $ 250 without my authorization. They didn't even mention while I was checking in. When I call the next day about the $250 extra charge, the person who answers the phone was really rude, and gave me a bad attidude.

Review 110:My girlfriend and I found the shops that were situated in the hotel to be a bit off-putting, and the staff of the hotel to be ingenious and distracted at times. The lounge feels like it was stuck in the glory days of the late 80s or 90s, decades for which neither my girlfriend or I were old enough to enjoy. Double check the rates before agreeing to your stay, as there could be a surprise on your bill that you were not expecting.

Review 111:The location of the hotel was superb as it was just a skip away from the Banff gondola, which delivers it's passengers to the breathtaking spectacular views that could only be garnerd from the top of sulphur mountain. The room was nice, but fairly basic in it's amenities. We definitely recommend the king sized bed, as it was one of the best we have slept in throughout our various hotel stays.

Review 112:We did not eat in Eden, but felt the food in the Primrose and Larkspur could have been a bit better. Brussels sprouts under cooked, fish slightly over cooked, but staff and chefs were very accommodating to those of us who did not eat red meat or poultry.

Review 113:Views, service, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Easy access to transportation into town.

Review 114:The location is perfect; away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown Banff but easily accessible via the free shuttle service. Food is very good especially the breakfast buffet. The views are spectacular.l

Review 115:We were celebrating my partner's 50 th birthday for which they were aware. I was given a list of packages to purchase:( for the price of the room they could have at least sent up some balloons. That was a disappointment.

Review 116:The views from window are spectacular. The staff is exceptionally friendly. A nice splurge :)

Review 117:Specifically asked for a view room - thought we had paid for it - didn't get it. Room was too hot and couldn't get it cooled at night - Had a young child in next room that was VERY noisy VERY early...

Review 118:This hotel is in a spectacular setting, nicely renovated and elegant.

Review 119:A little pricey but something you should save for every once in a while. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 120:The view from our room was breathtaking! The room was clean and up-to-date. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

Review 121:We couldn't turn off the heat in our room and it was quite uncomfortable. We also made dinner reservations at the Rimrock dinning room and on line it indicated that there is a dress restriction but when we got there it was obvious that there wasn't.

Review 122:The views were beautiful and the staff are very friendly.

Review 123:My stay was made absolutely magical by the greeters at the door , all the friendly staff! Even though the wifi wasn't the greatest , the staff , view and the hotel room was spectacular

Review 124:Entering the hotel no signs were the hotel is, high traffic area from Gondolas and Springs so waited along time to get into the entrance !! Vallet kept asking if we had reservations or not

Review 125:Large rooms and nicely decorated. Hotel has great views and some staff members were hospitable.
