This simple and pleasant hotel is in front of Roses Marina. It offeatures fers a seasonal outdoor pool, terrace and free Wi-Fi zone, just a 2-minute walk from Roses Beach.

Review 2：Easy to find and free parking, staff were great and facilities excellent. Good variety of choice for meals. Poolside area is great and the bar area comfortable with evening entertainment close to the beach and marina and safe swimming, plenty of shops bars cafes and restaurants of required. we booked one night and we're that comfy we booked a second.

Review 3：Breakfast was horrible. We could not drink the orange juice or coffee. They put a plastic sheet over the mattress that makes it very uncomfortable to sleep on.

Review 6：Poor service, completely old fashion, towels in the bathroom have more than 50 years... This hotel needs a complete renovation in order to be competitive. However, is an option for a very low cost trip if you don't mind service and quality.

Review 14：Everything. That is why we have been staying here since 1971. During that time if things begin to look a little tired the Management rejuvenate. Many of the Bedrooms and just been gutted and renewed. Always spotlessly clean and the Buffet is Perfect

Review 15：Food. We had stayed here last year and had looked forward to going back. We were very disappointed at how badly the quality of the food had gone down, both for breakfast and dinner. Had booked half board but only had dinner twice.

Review 18：Rooms and position overlooking harbour good. Staff very pleasant and keen to help. Roses is a big resort but Univers is at the north/western end almost out of the town which makes it quieter. The buffet meals are o.k. for the price we paid.

Review 19：The toiletries were a bit sparse. The fact that you were given a fixed time for the wifi connection which meant that you had to go to reception every morning for a new code.

Review 21：The quality of the food was poor for the price which was not included. The hotel was full and food trays emptied quickly and not refilled as fast. General information on using the safe, fire exits was missing in the rooms. Parking very limited and difficult.

Review 23：We booked this hotel on short notice and mea culpa, I did not do too much investigating. I should have. The staff were so jaded that they barely said hello. We had a room which I would estimate at about 5/6m2 with twin beds (the chamber maids had gone home so they couldnt change it). A balcony overlooking the back of the hotels and the bins. It felt really grubby as well, I think nothing has been changed in this hotel since the 50s/60s. It just felt a bit gross. Im not even going to talk about the entertainment on the back terrace, although in the end it was entertaining because it was so bad. Plus €8 for a g&t, I can get it cheaper in Paris! A joke!

Review 27：No pool side bar service seemed to be available, and my beer was served in a paper coke cup. The breakfast was not the best, sausages we tasteless and the bacon very thick and fatty. There was plenty of breads and cakes to stodge up on though. Also some of the dishes and cutlery were not clean..

Review 28：The hotel was well situated on the main front of Roses bay opposite the marina. The hotel had good undercover parking for our motorcycle. The pool was fantastic and very clear and nice temperature. The beds were clean and OK comfy. The staff were nice. I'd stay again as we had our meals in the fantastic restaurants in the town.

Review 29：The bedclothes were quite used. The inside style is old-fashioned looking and very heavy (marble, tiles...), it would need refreshment. The way to the room is a maze.

Review 31：Terrible food, attitude of restaurant staff,it was as though they didn't want us there, children not allowed to play in pool, one french guest commented to us that it was like a funeral! decor it was a hotel still in the 1970s. No snacks served at lunch time- only microwaved food. Entertainment was back in the dark ages-man singing along to taped music or playing the keyboard.

Review 33：The food was plentiful but a little disappointing - and not as tasty as it looked. We went for the half-board option as this was the first and last stop of our vacation. Practical and convenient to have dinner when arriving after a long drive, but would just do bed and breakfast another time. Very little private parking for such a large hotel.

Well presented bathroom, good shower with lovely hot water. Friendly atmosphere and value for money. Free public parking very close by.

Review 35：I specified a non smoking room, but was given a smoking room that smelt very badly of stale tobacco, we were allocated a second room on the same floor, which I suspect was also a smoking room as there were ashtrays in the room, also the bathroom door did'nt open correctly, as we were there for only two days I ddi'nt report the fault.

Review 98：As a non-smoker I found that there was a general smell of smoke in the corridors around the hotel. In the first room I had the linguring smell of smoke in the room was so bad I had to ask to move rooms, the woman on reception wasn't overly happy about it even though I said when I checked in the room must not smell smokey, but she did move me to a room which didn't smell and I was happy after that.

Review 99：Location right on the sea front and only a short walk to the main town. Breakfast is very good with a huge selection of things. The air con was very good. Mine initially didn't work and the hotel were really fast at getting someone to fix it which they did in only a few minutes.

Review 100：Very noisy room - 140 - immediately above the bar with live music every night, till late on Saturday night (Sunday morning). Noise insulation was not good - the bed vibrated with the bass line on Saturday when the music was particularly loud.

Review 111：We stayed 2 nights at Hotel Univers and it was an "in between break on the way to our destination". The hotel offers plenty for the price you pay - the location is very good, you have a nice view of the sea and a harbor. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and nice beach tapas bars and shops etc. Ask for the sea view room, it's just a few euros extra per day per person but you get a really spacious room with gorgeous views. Breakfast was good as well for a 3* hotel - plenty of choice, good service. Also you have a bar at the swimming pool, which is a plus.
