Reviews for Pousada Vila das Velas
Review 1:Staff were brusque and not particularly helpful. I speak some Portuguese so communication was not the issue. All our other stays in 3 weeks in Brazil were generally friendlier and more helpful. Perhaps we just struck an unlucky day or two.
Review 2:The room and location are excellent.
Review 3:The bungalows have a bed and a hammock, but no actual chairs (or other place to sit).
Review 4:Pousada Vila das Velas is a delightful little place right on the water. The pool is beautifu! And the location is super convenient.
Review 5:Very nice location. Perfect breackfest and also nice fitness room. The work out before breakfest with the view was top! There are alao bike for free for two hours
Review 6:In Ilhabela you have to know portuguese. If not, I imagine the stay wouldn't be so perfect. But on the other hand, there are no other foreign turists, which I loved.
Review 7:I liked everything in this hotel.
Review 8:WiFi is weak.
Review 9:Location is wonderful as it is close to the ferry. We went to the south for beach and north for central city where they sell souvenirs. Well balanced location. The pousada is right in front of the sea and there is a walkway leading to one beach.
Review 10:Surpisingly for a tourism highlight like Ilhabela, there are hardly any people that speak English. No bar at the hotel to have a drink in the evening.
Review 11:The rooms away from the water are situated at a busy road, was glad to have earplugs! Crew doesn't speak English, I was hoping for some restaurant or "to do" suggestions- no chance, although I usually get away with my French/ Spanish/Italian mixture. Lots of evil mosquitoes ( not the hotel's fault)
Review 12:The rooms are beautifully decorated, the breakfast and the view while having breakfast is great.
Review 13:Need to drive to get to swimming beach - pousada has view of the water, but not able to go into the water here! No air conditioning No WiFi in rooms Loft bedroom has very low ceiling - we whacked our heads multiple times!
Review 14:Friendly staff Lovely grounds - enjoyed breakfast on the deck with sea breezes Able to sleep family of 4 Nice shower
Review 15:We had to sit many hours in the lobby since there is no internet in the rooms. I can't understand why can't they set routers near the rooms. The reception ladies were very nice but we had to hush their everlasting talking. If we had internet in the rooms that wouldn't happen.
Review 16:Very romantic having breakfast right on the water! The design is clean and nice.
Review 17:Almost no one speaks English nor Spanish. Location is far from anything - The center of the island is called "Vila".
Review 18:Big nice rooms, good breakfast
Review 19:O cardápio do restaurante deveria privilegiar peixes e frutos do mar...
Review 20:The hotel could do with a bit of updating
Review 21:In the middle of Manaus. Verry friendly staff, helping you out with everything
Review 22:Standard breakfast ok but with awful machine coffe
Review 23:Nice location in front of own beach though none of the apartments have a seaview.
Review 24:Rooms by the back of the hotel can be a little noisy.
Review 25:Excellent breakfest with a view, very good room.
Review 26:perfect, cozs, little Hotel with all the things you get in big ones but much nicer and more individual. The breakfast is very good, too.

Review 38:Decoration, pool and breakfast table by the sea
Review 39:Noise from nearby ferry and traffic
Review 40:Leisure area Breakfast
Review 41:I didn't like the lack of hot water in the sink and the amount of hot water in the shower.
Review 42:Friendly staff
Review 43:The access is not so fair to people with some problems. There are lot of steps up and down. There is no restaurant.
Review 44:The landscape is very nice. The place is very quiet and relaxing. Nice staff. You can ask and take a boat trip from the inn.
Review 45:anywhere along that coast from Santos to Rio and probably beyond -there are mosquitos so make sure to bring mosquito repellents. Ilhabela is wonderful island - you can access through Sao Sebastiao which has a wonderful historic old town. The downside - BP owns most of the big port right across the old town and lots of tankers fuel up. There is no way escaping it and you will see them from anywhere.
Review 46:very centrally located. when you walk out of the Pousada you can stroll around the beach walk or bike it. Bikes are available for you at the Pousada. Some fantastic restaurants walking up the beach. They organized a flexboat trip to the other side of the island which is not to be missed. Staff couldn't be any friendlier.
Review 47:beach is not a real beach: small and not profound. was not clean when we were there for past torment.
Review 48:comfort cleanliness tranquility view breakfast room bed spacious and luminous bathroom
Review 49:Some smoking smell within the apt. Suggest the hotel to have non-smoking bedrooms with specific signs.
Review 50:Quiet and very nice location. Beautiful view of the sea and close of good restaurant options.
Review 51:That the wifi was very slow or not functioning.
Review 52:Everything exempt that the wifi was sooooo slow Everything would have got excellent if the internet have worked well!! A lovely place to stay in!!!
Review 53:There was supposed be wifi but there was no signal in the room. There was a signal in the reception but the internet was really slow there too.
Review 54:Although the staff didn't talk English, they were still very helpful and communicated via google translate.
Review 55:You'll need a car to get to famous beach, but that's the case for almost all hotels in the island.
Review 56:Breakfast is really good with many options of cakes and fruits
Review 57:Nothing!
Review 58:The staff was extraordinary friendly, supportive and flexible. We arrived very early in the morning and they offered us to do an early check-in.
Review 59:No computer and no english speaking staff
Review 60:An unbelievable place to stay. Views are amazing while eating breakfast-buffet and sunbating on the beach.
Review 61:Restaurant/Bar wasn't open in the evening
Review 62:The quietness and closeness to the beach, very clean, friendly and helpful staff, amazing view
Review 63:Easy-to-find location, but there is nothing to do around.
