Reviews for Aleeda Motel

Review 1:the clerk even brought our luggage in when we were so tired. He took it a-pond himself to just bring to our room. Of course we indeed tip him. He did not even suggested that he wanted a tip. We would recommend for anyone. They even have cameras outside to look after your vehicle.

Review 2:One of the beds had soiled linen on it

Review 3:Staff on the desk on arrival exceptional. We arrived at 0500 from the ferry service and were able to check in at that time! Incredible

Review 4:Internet didn't work even though you could connect. Bed was very old and soft. Sheets and towels stained. Toilet didn't flush properly. Sheets worn and pilled. Not clean but it didn't smell. Very very worn down. Dirty looking facility outside of the room. Nothing about this place exhibited care or confidence.

Review 5:It was near the ferry, but if I'd been traveling in a car and not a motorcycle, I would have slept in my car. It had lots of electrical outlets.

Review 6:the parking I had small car other guest parking in my stall and i couldn't get in my stall i had 2 inches that other truck gave me . next time bigger truck park on street or bigger stall.

Review 7:It smelled like urine in our room. We bought a bunch of Lysol spray and air fresheners which helped.

Review 8:The location was good. There was a really good fan in the room.

Review 9:wifi signal was sketchy at best. I was on level 2. Had to come down to lobby to use wifi.

Review 10:The staff were amazing and helpful. Location was brilliant. Directly across the road from a supermarket called 'Overwaitea Foods'

Review 11:My 20 year old son and I stayed. I had believed we were in a 2 bed room based on the picture. It was not.....the room did not look at all like the pics.

Review 12:We were put in a smoking room, the smell was disgusting. The fridge rattled all night. Very run down old hotel.

Review 13:The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 14:Located in the center of Prince Rupert. Easy access to shops. Good equipped kitchen. Go to supermarket on the opposite street side and fetch your meal to prepare it in the cooking place. Enough space in rooms.

Review 15:There are other hotels and restaurants around, so can be noisy outside at night. One of our rooms was on the front (and was quiet) but one of the rooms was on the back (facing a restaurant-bar) and was noisy that particular night.

Review 16:This is a no frills reasonably priced hotel. The room was clean, there was a kitchenette included, the reception was very friendly and helpful. We arrived late, but they were expecting us, and were helpful getting us a taxi the next day.

Review 17:There is no air conditioning although fans are provided. It is noisy if you need to keep the window open for air circulation. We checked our bedspread and blankets before unpacking and found the bottom sheet had not been charged :(. We complained and were immediately given another room. The housekeeping staff need to be watched and monitored more closely, they are cutting corners and that is bringing down the ratings of this motel.

Review 18:The price is good, room was clean. This is an old motel and has been undergoing updates so it is improving.

Review 19:I am sure the gold prospectors of 1898 appreciated this new facility but it is now in need of new carpet and updates. The old worn dirty buckled carpet was probably the majority of the bad smell. This place should be taken off your list. Disn't even have an ice machine. The whole experience contributed to the rustic atmosphere and we were ready to find some gold pans!

Review 20:Musty smell in room, could use an upgrade in furnature for sure, some fresh paint and possibly a picture or two in the room. Outside looks terrible, again needs paint.

Review 21:The staff were great. Cheerful and very helpful, with information etc.

Review 22:tried to hook up to wifi but was not given a password that worked. Was given password and it was not accepted so ended up using an unlocked wifi from the overwaitea across the street

Review 23:the bed was comfortable and it was quiet

Review 24:Facility needed a better or deep cleaning - it would be a nicer hotel if the facility is given proper cleaning especially the carpets etc.

Review 25:Good location and fair rate plus free wifi.

Review 26:Being so close to a late night closing bar and night club. Patrons leaving bar late at night(or early morning) made it hard to sleep for about 90 min.

Review 27:Being close to uptown and easy to get breakfast in AM close by. Staff were friendly

Review 28:Would stay there again

Review 29:We booked this as it was close to the ferry. Outside could use some TLC but the room itself was a pleasant surprise. Very helpful staff, close to downtown activities

Review 30:That they've say they no longer take big dogs, when did that change? I used to stay there with my big dog all the time.

Review 31:It's close to the ferry terminal, the grocery store is right across the street, the Ni'sga Hall is right next door, the staff is friendly.

Review 32:Extremely noisy. Rowdy drunk guests coming and going on my floor until after 2AM. Notified desk clerk who apologized but did not investigate. Walls thin listened to drunk people arguing, babies crying and all conversations of people staying on the same floor. Located near clubs. People gathered outside clubs on street were also loud and rowdy.

Review 33:Room and kitchen facilities were very clean

Review 34:very clean, warm, nice helpful reception people, good coffee, central location

Review 35:Convenient location for the Prince Rupert ferry terminal

Review 36:Staying

Review 37:Leaving

Review 39:Easy to find location in town, price.

Review 46:It was convenient for people getting off the ferry late at night

Review 47:squeaky bed

Review 49:People were great, facility needed some up grading or improvements

Review 50:No elevator

Review 51:Friendy, good bed.

Review 52:The staff was wonderful and very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 53:Homeless group was quite loud across from the hotel late into the night.

Review 54:No A/C in rooms

Review 55:scary rooms outfit - noise of refrigerator

Review 56:hotel is well situated

Review 57:There are no comments available for this review

Review 58:Offered a bachelor suite, provide good service

Review 59:In need of upgrades

Review 60:Location and price

Review 61:All the stairs to get in the front door, it was snowing hard when I arrived.

Review 62:A nice bed and comfortable chairs to relax in

Review 63:Not too attractive outside. Needs new hall and lobby carpet.

Review 64:Room was clean and comfortable and everything worked except wifi.

Review 65:Noisy

Review 66:room was dirty, filth behind head of bed not cleaned up made us suspect the bed had not been changed.

Review 67:cost was low

Review 68:Till 2.30am there where young people screaming and yelling, it was terrible. Sadly I never will stay there again. Why doesn't the police do anything about that, so many Motel/Hotels are around?!?!

Review 69:Overpriced for quality of the room and surrounding area. Too many stairs (into the building) for those with walking issues. No coffeemaker in romm.

Review 70:Staff was very friendly.

Review 71:We stayed here for a week as part of a three month trip and will remember the Aleeda Motel for all the wrong reasons!1. We were greeted with an empty desk despite pressing the buzzer numerous times. It turns out the motel, is not 24/7 check in but pretty much 24/7 doors open, anyone can wander in, which they did, often.2. Like a previous reviewer, we were overcharged! We reserved a room in the motel via Booking.com which stated a cheaper price. When we queried this, we were told by the miserable woman in the stained top who finally appeared that she would make a note of the mistake and to bring it up with her colleague as they "have to honour the prices stated on Booking.com"... Not so, the next morning we spoke to the 'colleague' who we found to be rude, aggressive and dismissive regarding the over-payment. She refused to give us a partial refund as "with the prices stated on Booking, they can't make ends meet!" Maybe it's worth asking then, why they don't advertise a higher price on this website?! It would certainly have saved us a visit!3. Poor value for $.4. The very limited kitchenware supplied needed a second wash.5. The broken cold water tap in the bathroom which literally snapped in two halves when we tried to use it.6. The shower has mismatched taps and cuts in and out, often unexpectedly spraying you with hot water.7. The dirty, stained sheets and towels.8. The broken oven (a fire hazard as the door didn't close) and hob.9. The motel is EXTREMELY loud at all hours. Locals have told us it has a reputation as a party place which we found to be true. Doors were banging all night and kids were constantly running up and down and crying in the corridors. Our room was by the stairs; we heard people laughing, screaming and traipsing up and down the whole time and were regularly woken.10.

Review 72:The only positives I can think of is that it's within a half hour walk of the ferry/Via Rail terminal and that there's an Overwaite grocery store right across the street.

Review 73:I have no complaints. I will definitely stay there again! Just maybe supply dish soap if you want people to clean up the dishes.

Review 74:The staff were very friendly. Nice to see First Nation's business!

Review 75:The walls were very thin, you could hear your neighbours quite clearly, and the neighbourhood was quite loud too.

Review 76:You get what you pay for with this hotel so don't expect any luxuries. However, the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Review 77:Keep awake from loud music till 2 am from bar moby dick motel nextdoor complained about it to font desk ( aleeda motel ) they said thatthere is an anti noise by law in the city of prince rupert but policewould not enforce it they gave another room for the last two nights(quite room)

Review 78:This hotel is filthy, one of the dirtiest we have seen. No air conditioning and it was very hot. Advertised with a "continental breakfast," but none was served.

Review 79:Nothing.

Review 80:Staff not very friendly and co-operative. Rooms were smelly and veryshabby. But to be fair, the price we paid was not great. Speaking aboutprice - we booked two rooms with two queen beds in each. This we werenot given because the rate had gone up since we booked. We were toldthat this mix up was down to Booking.com for booking us on the wrongrate! Whoever was to blame, we were not happy.

Review 81:Location was good. Only seven minutes from the ferry terminal. Question3 - can't find the right description!

Review 82:the hot water in the shower was warm at best

Review 83:we arrived in Prince Rupert at 1.15 am from Skagway. We needed a room close to the port and at a reasonable rate as we were only going to spend the rest of the night. this was perfect. the staff gave us the option of a late checkout to get a bit more sleep as it was nearly 3.00 am by the time we arrived. the room was quiet and comfortable.

Review 84:Towels a bit worn and dark colour although clean. Motel a bit batteredin places -perhaps needs a light paint.

Review 85:Good price and facilities [kitchen] - free coffee each morningwelcoming. Location opposite a supermarket convenient. Frequentchange of towels and room lightly but adequately cleaned. Stafffriendly and helpful.

Review 86:It got rained on (just joking - this is Prince Rupert!)

Review 87:Central location in down town yet inexpensive. Older building but wellmaintained & clean. Parking visible from room.

Review 88:Bed was very uncomfortable, very squeaky. No coffee and tea in the room. Limited time for coffee in the lobby and no tea.

Review 89:Friendly staff.

Review 90:It seemed old until I got in and it was then comfortable!

Review 91:Staff was friendly! Easy to get to

Review 92:Disturbed signal reception TV.

Review 93:Good location, friendly staff.

Review 94:Good location. Free coffee in the morning

Review 95:No fridge or coffee pot in room

Review 96:Helpful people

Review 97:The wifi wasn't working the day we stayed there

Review 98:The fact that they had a kitchen

Review 99:The free wi-fi was great and I saved money using the kitchenette.

Review 100:Reasonable rates for a comfortable stay. While there was no hair-dryer/iron/ironing board in each room, they were available upon request.

Review 101:Location and price..friendly staff
