Reviews for Bighorn Meadows Resort
Review 1:We got no complimentary breakfast for the price. We had to take out our own garbage.
Review 2:The room was beautiful and the view was great. We had everything and more that we could need.
Review 3:How can I say anything bad when I didn't even want to go home when it came time to packing and leaving?
Review 4:My absolute favourite was standing on the deck watching the wild life be free and safe! Going out to my truck and having the mountain goats and deer right by the door to my truck, the view is just breathtaking! I haven't felt relaxed in along time and our stay at the bighorn is exactly what we needed!
Review 5:It was very comfortable, beautiful, and peacefully. Now that we know about your place we will come back. Mainly because we would love to go golfing there.
Review 6:Screaming couple outside for an hour and no one did anything. Loud enough I wanted to call the police. Anyone on the grounds should have heard. Also value for money wasn't that great. My view was of the parking lot too and that sucked.
Review 7:staff was good and kniwlagabke of area
Review 8:The jacuzzi jets turned on at 2am by itself which sounded like a vacuum cleaner/low flying jet and wouldn't turn off! I needed to find the breaker panel and shut it down that way.
Review 9:Location, the suite, the view, incredible bed and pillows.
Review 10:They say a one bedroom unit sleeps four! Ha! They have one king bed andone hide-a-bed. The hide-a-bed has a thin, lumpy mattress no-one couldpossibly sleep on! After we got home, I wrote to the resort and had noreply - they don't care.
Review 11:Location, facing the Purcell Mountains.
Review 12:Bad wifi on some days Local grocery store very limited, go to "no frills supermarket" in Invemere. Invemere also has AW, Tim Horton and lakes.
Review 13:Location - quiet base location to visit Banff and Lake Louise. Modern and quiet rooms. Heated pool. Golf course.
Review 14:No restaurant on site although the springs golf course was close by.
Review 15:The room was awesome and the view was great looking at the ninth green and seeing the mountain sheep roaming on the golf course.
Review 16:It's on a golf course with beautiful views, but you have to upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite to get a view.
Review 17:Nice location. Big kitchenette. New, clean and comfortable.
Review 18:The first room we were booked into, the ceiling fan was broken. We were moved which was not a problem, but, in the second room the air conditioning unit leaked all over the floor.
Review 19:Great location right on the golf course. Easy walk into town.
Review 20:Bed was very uncomfortable. I e-mailed the manager, but did not hear anything back. I consider that bad service.
Review 21:Very nice one bedroom suite, at ground level with a nice patio and bbq.
Review 22:No maid service (during stay) which is okay if your only staying for a couple days (and don't require more towels or fresh bedding). You are also responsible for taking your trash out at the end of your stay, location of receptacle wasn't easily found.
Review 23:Loved the fact that this condo had a practical kitchen set-up, equipped with dishes, cups, etc. Large bathroom, amazing shower!
Review 24:had trouble with the Free WiFi , but not an issue or problem at all really.
Review 25:We were very pleased with everything about Big horn Meadows....lovely clean & comfortable & quiet room in a beautiful location. We will definitely be back again to stay here & will definitely recommend this property to all we know. Thank-you! Regards, Sandra Kennedy
Review 26:Room was new and nicely decorated, however, because it was partially in the basement it was very dark with limited day light and no AC. We could hear guests from other rooms as well as people walking outside. Resort is beautifully located but for those staying in rooms with no balcony there is not much common area to enjoy. Would be nice to have some gazibos or designated shaded area for those who like quiet time.
Review 27:Beautiful location. Room very clean and new. We like Bighor resort and will definitively be back.
Review 28:WiFi didn't work first couple days
Review 29:I liked to stay in self-catering accomodation rather than in a hotel. It was a good time for me and my family(excl. weather).
Review 30:The upstairs neighbours were noisy after 11 PM. It sounded like they were moving furniture then jumping from it. Or the Stampede horses had come to visit. Either way the resort should have better sound proofing between floors. The air conditioning barely reached the master bedroom and I found it warm. Maybe having ceiling fans that reverse might cool the rooms better i.e. summer/winter settings. A 10 AM check out time is very early.
Review 31:We booked a modern 2 bedroom suite. What we found was a mini apartment with full kitchen open to large dining room & living room, 2 full baths, washer & drier, baloney, BBQ and Air Conditioning. Master bedroom had a king size bed. The parking was under the building with an elevator to our floor. Internet was good. The baby crib was in the room when we arrived. We will stay there again.
Review 32:My first room did not have air conditioning and smelled bad...probably due to lack of air circulation. But they moved me immediately and I was much happier!
Review 33:Bed was comfy and room was great! Was not happy with the first room I checked into, but they quickly accomodated me and moved me to a different location A+
Review 34:Room too small for the price and no AC in sweltering heat made for a vacation that I would like to forget. We will never stay there again!
Review 35:Convenient, scenic location.
Review 36:Room had no air con although the we were asked if upgrade was required , I think all rooms should have air con when temps reach mid to high 30 's to make your stay more comfortable.
Review 37:Overall resort a lovely place to visit.
Review 38:Front desk person did not appear knowledgeable of the room location and merely pointed to a building and said we could find our room there. Room was on the third floor and nothing in the booking site indicated that we would need to haul our suitcases, golf clubs and portable cooler up flights of stairs. Room was very spartan. Outfitted no better than what you would find in a motel. Wifi was hit and miss requiring 3-4 attempts at various addresses before could connect. Four pillows were provided, however all were equally hard and bulky and made for very uncomfortable sleep.
Review 39:Parking and proximity to Main road. Bed was comfortable but overshadowed by poor pillows.
Review 40:A mens' golf group took our wine from the cooler in the restaurant. The young lady who served us handled the situation beautifully, replacing it with a better bottle - well done.
Review 41:Our upstairs Neighbours were really noisy! Banging around , running etc late at night and super early! This wasn't the resorts fault, just other folks staying there. The Welcome centre staff was quite lame! Couldn't answer questions and not knowledgeable
Review 42:Excellent suite! Tons of room, comfortable beds, very nice deck on lower floor, view was amazing and overall we are headed back in a couple months!
Review 43:Went out to propose to my girl. Room was great, lots of moving room. Golf course was perfect place to ask as the ridge over looking the mountains made the moment perfect.
Review 44:I didn't like that 'the system' selected my room and even when I mentioned my desire for a valley view, the receptionist told me that 'the nice little green space view I had been assigned would be 'just fine.'
Review 45:I liked the quality of the room and the view from room 822. Unsuspecting treats like a deep soaker tub, heated bathroom floor and crushed ice were special.
Review 46:Wi-Fi was particularly bad especially one evening. Unable to even get a signal.
Review 47:Location. Walking distance to main part of Radium. Sheep on the golf course.
Review 48:Our only complaints would be that some of the beds are hard and uncomfortable, and if you are in a middle unit, people upstairs can be heard if they are heavy walkers or like to drag their kitchen chairs, or have children that run. That can be disturbing sometimes. I would also suggest utilizing the locks and chains on your unit doors. This last time a housekeeper barged in without so much as a hello or a knock. This has only happened to us this one time, and the front desk was appreciative for the heads up from my husband. I assume they dealt with it, as they were very unhappy that we had to experience that. The one last thing is the 10am checkout. Not too keen on that. Even 11am would be better.
Review 49:My husband and I come here often. We have extremely busy schedules, and relaxing usually isn't worked into any of them. We love the peace and quiet. Being able to wake up when we want, knowing that a beautiful view with our morning coffee is steps away. We usually stay in a 2 bedroom, but every unit is unique and comfortable, and is equipped with pretty much everything you need. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and your privacy and comfort are their top priority.
Review 50:The only only complaint we had was that the mirror in the bathroom was too low. I'm 6'2" and it was well below my head. A full length mirror somewhere would be a welcome addition. But really, if that's the only issue we had, that says a lot about how great our stay was. We love this place :)
Review 51:We loved everything about our stay. We're already planning our return trip. :)
Review 52:Not much to do in town, no restuarant at the resort, luckily invermere is down the road. The amount of work you have to do when checking out is a bit much, it's like you're doing everything the housekeeper would do, wasnt a fan. The check in procedure is weird. If you're checking in past 5 pm (I wasn't come from out of town so I didn't get there until around 8:30) they just leave an envelope for you with a key. Also they have an "emergency after hours phone" that you call if you need anything, I called twice and left a message and no one even bothered to call me back.
Review 53:The resort rooms were very nice and cozy. Great view. Very clean and spacious. The kitchen was great and fully equipped.
Review 54:The door knobs on the rooms are incredibly noisy. Very hard to silently check on sleeping kids. There was pretty good sound transference between our room and the room upstairs. I could hear their baby blowing raspberries to itself as it was going to sleep. I assume they could also hear our kids when they were being noisy. We ran out of hot water on night while running a bath. Not sure how that happened as it wasn't a big bath and we'd only just come back from supper so no water had been used recently. The unit has its own water heater in a utility room. Potentially it's a shared water heater with the "B" side of our suite?
Review 55:We had a two bedroom suite and the facilities were excellent. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots & pans, etc. We didn't turn on the tv but there were two, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. We stayed with our 5 year old and 2 year old and they had a blast at the playground and in the hot tub. We had a ground floor room facing the playground with a door exiting directly on to the green space. We felt comfortable letting the girls play while we watched from the window. Quiet time seemed to be nicely enforced: The group in the hot tub packed it in at 10 on the nose.
Review 56:Very helpful and charming receptionist Annia. Rooms are equipped for everything you need in independent vacations. Perfect location of the resort. About five minutes drive to Radium Hot Springs.
Review 57:We were on the ground floor, and thus had someone above us. For such claims as Estate living I would expect a much better sound proofing between units. We were kept awake until 2:00AM because of the noise from the unit above.
Review 58:Loved the size of the unit, and the elbow room it gave our family.
Review 59:no elevator-had to make multiple trips up three flights of stairs
Review 60:Cozy common areas in the suite Kitchen well stocked Lots of things to do and reasonable groceries nearby Saw many big horned sheep on the property!
Review 61:I loved staying on the golf course and I thought the facility was well kept and a great location. I really enjoyed seeing the big horn sheep on the golf course and deer around town. It was close to the many activities we wanted to do i.e. skiing at panorama, cross country skiing, close to town, skating, tobogganing hill. Would like to bring my grandkids up for a weekend sometime. The movies and hot tub was great also. Loved the fireworks on new years eve, a great surprise to us. Thanks so much.
Review 62:Beautiful view of mountains, tons of wild life around, and staff were great and timely in responses or questions about wifi/ cable. Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, well furnished with all amenities that you would need. highly recommend this resort, especially if you are wanting to cook your own meals and want some added space to lounge in.
Review 63:Poor connection to wifi
Review 64:The amenities the scenery and the the staff were very nice and it was very accomadating. The condos were beautiful will visit again soon!
Review 65:Front door did not lock shut. My suite needed a harder clean in kitchen. Suite freezing when I checked in. Gal at reception nice but not well trained.
Review 66:Location good. It was quiet during my visit. Had a suite so a nicer than having a room. Sheep were fun.
Review 67:Big Horn Meadows Resort is a collection of condos not a resort. There is no concierge service, no on-property dining, and the property has lots of construction in queue. Reception could not arrange a massage for us, did not know the prices, could not tell us which restaurants were open or closed. After getting in our room I reported that our TV did not work. I was initially told that there was no service personnel available to rectify the issue. I complained and within 90 minutes the TV was fixed. Finally, construction machinery broke the early dawn silence outside our room.
Review 68:We were given a two story town home for our room. The entry was below ground. The unit was adequately appointed with glassware, plates, a coffee maker, and other kitchen utensils. The furniture was comfortable and up to date. (except the tiny TVs ) . Upstairs there was a washer and dryer, a master bedroom and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The heating was also comfortable.
Review 69:Next time we would rent a suite without a garage. We are light sleepers so could hear the workers coming and going in the garage. The temperature was difficult to adjust so it was a little to warm for sleeping.
Review 70:Non smoking so no smoke smells. Everything was very clean and modern with the kitchen well stocked with everything you would need (except food)
Review 71:The only thing we didn't like is early check out.
Review 72:We stayed in this resort over the weekend. The accommodations are modern and comfortable with the nice spacious kitchen. The staff were helpful. The view is amassing. We would recommend this resort to our friends.
Review 73:No kitchen facilities in our room but that was my fault, we should have booked a room with kitchen facilities.
Review 74:Comfortable bed, quiet room, close to venue, car wash area for car show participants. We were in Radium for the fall car show and we're treated very well by the resort.
Review 75:Would like two lounge chairs with table to unable watching the news/TV and having a glass of wine. Would have liked a view instead of the parking lot.
Review 76:Location and wild life. Would have liked to golf but didn't have a chance.
Review 77:The staff were very nice and helpful. I would of liked to stay on the side with a view of the golf course. We weren't there long enough but the next time I book in that area I shall ask for a room with the view of the golf course. Thank-you for the awesome staff that were at the front desk at the time of our arrival.
Review 78:little confused as to deposing of your own garbage and recyclables when the resort screams first class???
Review 79:Beautiful, spotlessly clean, ultra modern accommodations. Everything at your finger tips.
Review 80:Nothing
Review 81:We liked the fact that our room was in walking distance to the golf course. It was also nice that we were on the main floor for I have a disabled foot. Jack and I enjoyed our stay very much! The staff were great as well.
Review 82:Rented a two bedroom suite for two nights. Clean as in brand new clean. Great location. Mountain Sheep wandering the property. Loved everything. Can't wait to go back.
Review 83:There was not much that met with our disapproval during our stay but we do need to mention the fact that the showerhead had very little pressure. It was such an impressive-looking shower stall and we were so keen to get in there and enjoy a refreshing shower, but sadly, the lack of pressure in the showerhead totally spoiled the anticipation we had for enjoying it. One other comment I have is that I believe that elevators should be available for all of the buildings to provide an easier way for travellers to get their luggage up to their rooms, although this may not be feasible considering the layout of some of the buildings. One final comment: the bathroom did not have very bright lights in it, making it difficult to apply make-up, and also, no stool in there to enable me to sit in front of the counter. Surely with the size the bathroom (which was huge), there could be a small chair or bench in there for that purpose.
Review 84:What a beautiful setting for a Resort right along the golf course. We LOVED seeing the little herd of bighorn sheep while driving in and out of the golf course and of course the scenery is lovely too. The suites are very pleasant inside, and the bathroom with its huge walk-in shower was a treat for us as we had not encountered another while we were on our trip. We were fortunate to have an elevator on the outside of the building where our room was, as our luggage was heavy. We loved the colors in the room and the full set of dishes and cutlery, even though we did not use them during our 1-night visit. Great to know they are available, though.
Review 85:The Wi-Fi is weak. It would be great if the cleaning is part of the package even if done every alternate day or at least twice a week.
Review 86:The staff are receiptive & freindly. The location of the resort is nice and quiet.
Review 87:Sorry but I did not like that there was no place to put our suitcases other than on the floor...this is not easy for older people! The placement of the toilet paper holder is ridiculous as everytime you reached for it, the roll would fall onto the floor. I did not appreciate that we were responsible for removing our garbage and then had to find a garbage bin to put it in.
Review 88:We only stayed for one night. Very clean property with good parking. Room was very clean and Bathroom was huge, clean and loved the shower. Bed was quite high (27" legs means crawling up onto the bed) but it was comfortable. Beautiful location and grounds were clean!
Review 89:This is not a hotel, this is a resort complex, we suspect rooms available as and when. Not the usual hotel/motel and not to our taste. You have to empty any rubbish yourself and wash up any crockery you use.
Review 90:Couldn't fault the unit but you don't feel like a customer.
Review 91:We were disappointed there was no deck .. I thought there was but when asked it was $60 extra a night so we didn't upgrade . Other than that it was great !!
Review 92:The smell of the suite was strong and musty upon arrival, but we were able to open the windows to air it out. The bedding was a little lacking as well - our comforter was not covered and we had to put the sheets on the hide-a-bed ourselves (maybe that is normal, never used one before).
Review 93:The suite was nice, clean and spacious. We were also able to request early check-in which they honored.
Review 94:Vcr in the master bedroom didn't work. Blinds were very poor qualityfor a stated "luxery resort" no housekeeping provided Masterbed was broken Guest services was uniformed during the evening shifts -couldn;'t help book a horse trail ride as they didn't know thephone number - sticky notes left on the door to the main receptionstating they were off helping another customer - when they finallyreturned prior to closing they were rushed and not helpful, friendly oraccomodating
Review 95:The bathrooms in the suite were lovely
Review 96:Be warned: DVDs are 'loaned' for a fee. It wasn't made clear to us that this was a rental basis and there weren't any signs indicating the rental prices.
Review 97:Excellent location and views. Suite was exactly what we wanted.
Review 98:What a beautiful room. My girlfriend and I spent the night here. We just stayed in a superior queen room and it was super nice. Room was very modern, and clean. The location of the resort was very easy to find and pretty central to the major attractions around the area. I would definitely stay here again when the time comes.
Review 99:This is the first time I had issues with the desk staff. One lady had a lot of attitude when I had called down to see if it was possible for a late check out. At check out the lady at the desk did not make eye contact or even ask me how my stay was. Pool was closed Friday evening for maintence. Was dissointed about that.
Review 100:I stay here almost every year for over 10 years. I am never disappointed with the room. Loved that our room was on the golf course. My little toddler really liked to play on the grass.
Review 101:There is a clear window pane just above the door, which was very disconcerting and made our night very uncomfortable, we felt somehow not secure privacy-wise, anybody can peep in with just a chair or place a camera in there, since the door was facing the bed, we solved the problem by covering the window with towel. If this is a concern to anybody staying here just bring push pins. All the rooms were like these. We also had asked and arranged the previous day, if we can leave the room before 1200, check out was at 10am, this hotel has a very early check out policy, the staff we talked to had agreed and made a note of it yet we got a call at 1020am asking when we are to vacate the room. We felt pressured to leave. Fridge was not working properly, hardly cold. The pool was small for a resort this size.
Review 102:The room was nice, bed comfortable, plates, utensils, etc. available. Place was clean, bring your own coffee if you drink a lot otherwise you pay for extra.
Review 103:I didn't like the Wifi connection. It is poor connection as it is very slow. Other than that, all are good.
Review 104:I like the view from the patio. Very relaxing experience especially the green ground and lagoon.
Review 105:its a developer just trying to sell some apartments, the website makes it look like an apartment, but its only 1/2 an apartment, small and TV is very small
Review 106:big bathroom, coffee machine
Review 107:The bed wasn't the best. Also you could hear noise from suite above people walking and moving patio chairs loud. .
Review 108:The condo was well equipped and location great close for our golf vacation !!
Review 109:Price- $ 148 - No kit area - no living room area to watch small tv - no stove - 1/2 fridge .-- $148 for a bed - Worst $ value of all the places I stayed at on my trip
Review 110:The bathroom
Review 111:We got a unit that didn't get a lot of natural light so it was quite dark in the unit.
Review 112:Beautiful setting, nicely equipped unit. Felt like a home away from home!
Review 113:Putting our recyclables and garbage in the shed was a little strange. i was glad we didn't have much as it was a bit of a walk.
Review 114:Our room was lovely the washroom was lovely and big.The pool area was clean and my husband and I enjoyed sitting by it for an hour my husband went in the pool and we both enjoyed the hot tub. we would stay at this resort again
Review 115:Big Horn is situated just minutes from town; a very dead and boring town. We had a drink and appies at one (or the only?) town pub and were underwhelmed by the beer selection and food. (Wow! We were charged an extra 3 bucks to have our shared sandwich cut in half. Really?) We had read that about a million people visit the town each year. Where do they go? All at the pub? Nope. All at the springs? Nope. We will not be back. Sorry.
Review 116:We loved the clean, brand-spanking new room with great features. We had a lovely sleep in the big bed! The area was quiet, and if we had gotten a room with a view-perfection would have been ours!
Review 117:For an area that gets quite a bit of hot weather there was no air conditioning! When paying more than $250 I would expect that the comfort level for their patrons to be considered. Especially since it is a relatively new resort. I was shocked to walk into our room and have it stifling hot and then to be told in order to get air conditioning a greater price would have to be paid. The cheap motels in the area have air conditioning but not there. Then it was not even offered, I had to ask, for an extra fan in the room after I complained. When I asked for the extra fan it felt like they couldn't believe that I would even entertain such a notion.
Review 118:the A/C was in the living room and the cool air did not flow to the bedroom. We were told to open the window but the bedroom was on the side were all the people in the other rooms walk by and the lighting stays on all night. For a new building (700 block) there was not a lot of thought to where to place the A/C or to add a second nit in the bedroom. don't stay here in the summer!
Review 119:the rooms were nice and clean and great location.
Review 120:The bad, when its over 30 c its hard to be on the balcony to Bar B Q so I did it in the morning hour instead. Some others waited till evening.
Review 121:My stay here was awesome the suite was hugh in size there was lots of dishes like a set of 8 in all so you can use the dishwasher without running out of dishes. The view of the mountains is picture perfect. Location was great too for those of you who like the hot springs its very close and a fabulous beach in Invermere which is only 15 kms away.
Review 122:One of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. Space, efficiency and friendliness of the staff, cleanliness, comfort, location... Everything was great, plus the wifi signal was very strong. Definitely recommend!
Review 123:The 10 am checkout time is a little early. Pool and hot tub close at 10. Fitness area? If there is one it is not promoted.
Review 124:The scenery is phenomenal. Accomodations are gorgeous and comfortable. Everything you need is available at your fingertips! This is our fourth visit and will return again.
Review 125:The kids had to sleep on the pull out couch. Didn't like the feel of the springs on their back. Maybe have to get a two bedroom next time.
Review 126:We liked the suite with the balcony overlooking the golf course. My youngest daughter loved the pool and the wild life we saw in the area. Very clean place, we loved it. Bernd & Corry
Review 127:Love the place
Review 128:Our stay is like were at our own home.
Review 129:I didn't like that we had to remove our garbage from our room.
Review 130:It was very clean. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom.
Review 131:They should have put a hot tub in the living room.
Review 132:It's good place
Review 133:I found the accommodation excellent, had every thing you need. Beautiful relaxing view of golf course and big horn sheep.
Review 134:Ground floor
Review 135:Over looking 9th hole of a golf course. Wildlife everywhere.
