Reviews for Hotel Phenix
Review 1:Excruciatingly loud location; the smokers, outdoor drinkers, and loud music at the pub across the street makes sleep impossible until 2:15 am. Not factor if you're partying, not good if you aim for first tracks.
Review 2:Central location, nice staff
Review 3:I didnt get to stay longer
Review 4:Right in the city centre, friendly staff, near the bus station and the post office and comfortable room. This hotel is not a luxury hotel but it gets the job done better than the 5 star hotels. I would definetly stay there the next time i am in Verbier.
Review 5:Better wi-fi availability would make a big difference.
Review 6:Great location convenient for most things. Short walk to Medran. Hotel bar popular early evening.
Review 7:Central location meant some street noise during holiday parties at night. Sound proofing is adequate but if you are sensitive to noise as I am then bring earplugs (as I did).
Review 8:Excellent and helpful staff and management. Walkable lift access. Hearty breakfast. We had two adjacent rooms which were very comfortable and had more space than we expected. Parking on site in underground stall.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:The best part was the service, especially by Stephan , who took care of all our needs, always with a smile. Location is very good, at the center of Verbier, close to the shuttle bus to the Verbier concerts venue and to many restaurants. For classical music lovers-this is the only hotel I know with the "Mezzo" music channel on it's TV .
Review 11:Nothing in particular, the furniture is a bit old, but everyting is clean and working.
Review 12:Great host - very welcoming. Central location and right next to the bus stops to get to the lifts (5 mins) as well as bars, shops etc. Parking in the hotel that is important in Verbier. Room with the large balcony. Clean and nice hotel.
Review 13:Wifi coverage could use improvement. Should be fairly easy and minimal cost to do this. Bed was a bit hard.
Review 14:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in center of town. Exceptional room cleaning. Felt like a brand new room EVERY day. Nice bar and terrace.
Review 15:it is pretty noisy at night! You can hear drunken-singing tourists until late night. Breakfast was very basic and furniture was really old! If you want a walking distance to Medran, try something else.
Review 16:We stayed as a family of four, 2 kids in a "4 adult room" which was big (there were 2 rooms in the room) and clean. The basics are fine. Very helpful and warm employees. Place is central, in the middle of restos, pubs, bars, stores. Bus stop is next to hotel and Medran is just 1 stop. There was a small playground just behind and my 7 year old son loved playing there!! The Cosy bar inside is a small, nice, pretty local cafe-bar! Teas are great! Not much view as it is in between other chalets-hotels. Ski room Ok and having an indoor garage is great! Good for a few nights, relatively cheaper option. İ hope they'd renovate one day!
Review 17:wifi at 2nd floor is really bad. And the rooms are not that stylish to be honest, and the outdoor furniture needs to be changed.
Review 18:First of all, local people know how to make you feel warmly welcomed, staff is amazingly nice. We got amazing surprise to have been upgraded into triplet room, the room was and the doubles are as well huge compared to many other hotels in Verbier. Thank you Stephane for doing this for us, what a lovely surprise to find a person we know from our previous trips to Verbier, even it was our first time in Phenix! Breakfast is very good, and overall the price is good considering the location in the heart of Verbier. The rooms are old old, but we did not care as we got the best sunset view over the Alps! The pressure of the shower water is great, loved it, and the windows in the toilet, sun lit the whole room beautifully. We will be back despite the lack of luxuries in the hotel. The cozy and homely feeling is just what we are after.
Review 19:Wifi occasionally kicked out. But minimal impact on our holiday
Review 20:The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Location of this hotel is excellent too - right in the centre of the action!
Review 21:Beds could be more comfortable, old furniture
Review 22:Center of the village, close to restaurants and bus stop, big rooms, very convenient for family with children, cozy lobby area with nice terrace
Review 23:Bathrooms are quite out of date (shower only possible sitting in bath) and the wifi signal was not strong in our room
Review 24:Staff friendliness, cleanlines, location, value for money (for location), breakfast
Review 25:Very friendly and helpful staff. Location right in centre of town and short walk to bus to lifts. We had a family room that although dated was perfectly adequate. The hotel has a very cosy bar area.
Review 26:Wifi didn't work but was not bothered
Review 27:Exellent central location Ample parking for the car Clean, spacious room and very comfortable Good breakfast, with plenty of choice. Unbeatable value for money
Review 28:Rooms & en suite facilities so out of date. Really need work done to make them suitable for todays market. Breakfast was very basic...more effort required.
Review 29:Friendly staff & cosy bar
Review 30:Wifi was rather weak, but I as I didn't need it this wasn't a problem.
Review 31:Great location, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and comfortable rooms. Hotel Phenix provided everything we wanted for a good price in an expensive resort. Would definitely stay again.
Review 32:The staff are most helpful and the location excellent right by the post business the centre of Verbier. I understand that because of this position it can be noisy when there are a lot of resellers but there weren't any when I was there early in the season
Review 33:The wifi was only working intermittently in the room.
Review 34:Great little hotel in the center of Verbier. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There was ample free parking. The family room was spacious and comfortably housed 4 persons. The breakfast was very good. Very good value.
Review 35:Wifi was spotty and quite slow.
Review 36:Good location right in Verbier village close to restaurants, bars and shops. You can walk to the Medran gondola in less than 10 minutes with ski boots on, which makes heading back to the room mid-day to pick up e.g. spare goggles not such a big deal.
Review 37:No atmosphere in the breakfast room maybe if they could play music in the background I'm not talking Motörhead or ACDC! They could really do with descent coffee and tea the Nescafé machine was awful just a good old coffee filter and hot water machine would do the trick this was not only my opinion Would be a good idea to put the tv on the bedroom wall as it was right by the door so conscious of volume No WiFi in room!
Review 38:The staff were very friendly and helpful The room was a good size warm and clean with a comfy bed Great location
Review 39:Breakfast was okay, but not great. Would have preferred fresh brewed coffee or cappuccino and a little more variety on the breakfast bar.
Review 40:Clean room, response of staff, excellent hotel.
Review 41:Staff consists of one person at a time Decoration is very simple
Review 42:The hotel has everything a tourist needs- underground parking, perfect location in the center of town, very good breakfest, spacious rooms, in room safe, and a comfortable bathroom. The staff, .although very small, is very friendly. TV is modern, and has many channels, including Mezzo for classical music. The price is very good.
Review 43:There were no laundry or ironing service. But they let me use their washer/dryer and iron.
Review 44:Excellent location. Nice and friendly staff. Clean and cozy room. Highly recommend.
Review 45:Lift is very small and can only fit one person and one piece of luggage.
Review 46:Location was perfect; approx 100 metres from the centre of town and the bus from Le Chables stops and leaves right next door, There is also a supermarket next to the bus stop, a bakery across the road and markets outside the hotel. Our balcony had an awesome view of the Swiss Alps. Would stay again.
Review 47:Noise from revellers at night but unavoidable in Switzerland on 1st August ! Earplugs very useful. Coffee from machine not my taste.
Review 48:Large bedroom, balcony in sun.Breakfast good with choice of fresh breads and fruit. Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 49:somewhat loud- but that is to be expected at this location. would be nice to have separate toilet.
Review 50:central location good breakfast friendly staff can bring dog
Review 51:-WiFi not reliable (constant breakdowns), slow -coffee quality at breakfast terrible (but good in the bar) -smelly elevator -tap mountings need repair (impossibe to move for a child) -rooms overlooking pedestrian zone extremely loud on festival days -printer at reception did not work -awful 70ies/80ies pseudo.ethnic paintings and decorations -plug sockets too few, hard to reach
Review 52:-location very central -friendly staff -spacy rooms, good terrasse -clean
Review 53:location
Review 54:Friendly, helpful staff. Great location and less expensive than most of Verbier. Big mountain-view room.
Review 55:Lovely staff and location. Nice big room too
Review 56:excellent location, big rooms, fair price. nice and helpful staff. good breakfast.
Review 57:All good.
Review 58:We were greeted by Stephan who was very hospitable. Location is brilliant.
Review 59:Helpful staff, large room with balcony
Review 60:the desk clerk, Stephan was very helpful with answers to variety of questions. Cheerful and useful help for everything. Loved view from our room
Review 61:I cant say that I didnt like things It was nice
Review 62:A most friendly staff
Review 63:Location Free parking Balcony View Spacious room Super flexible staff regarding late checkout
Review 64:Very friendly greeting and lovely, large, comfortable room. Great breakfast. Overall great experience.
Review 65:The bed was terrible. Very uncomfortable and the wooden slats kept falling through to the floor. There was no shower only a hose.
Review 66:Somewhat dated interior and awkward showers
Review 67:Cosy and clean with very helpful staff. Decent continental breakfast. Central, but quiet location.
Review 68:Perfect location in centre of town ... very easy place to stay!
Review 69:slighty noisy in the morning outside room door
Review 70:Friendly and helpful staff Free parking Central location Large single room
Review 71:The hotel is close to a bar/night club so your beauty sleep is interrupted several times a night.
Review 72:Great location and free parking.
Review 73:Location, breakfast and parking.
Review 74:Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 75:noice from the street at night
Review 76:atmosphere and staff
Review 77:bar across street
Review 78:breakfast
Review 79:Great value, friendly staff, 8 minute walk to ski lifts, comfortable rooms, under cover car park.
Review 80:No restaurant
Review 81:Wonderful staff
Review 82:Isolation of the walls Windows must be changed
Review 83:Claudia and Stéphan verry good manager and we hope to find them always
Review 84:-rubbish from the previous guest in the room -I stayed 4 nights, the soap didn't get refilled, ran out after two days
Review 85:-nice balcony -decent room -the Cosy Bar adds great value
Review 86:Poor wifi in rooms. Sound proofing within the hotel is poor.
Review 87:Location is central, close to a bus stop. Off the main street, making it relatively quiet. Nice bar downstairs.
Review 88:Just across the street is a bar (The Loft). Their guests stands outside to smoke and it can be quite disturbing for your nightsleep. The noice ended at 01:45
Review 89:Location is excellent in the center of Verbier. Breakfast was ok, but not more than that!
Review 90:My only negative comment being a senior citizen (nothing major as i was young once)would be the noise from the Terrace outside the Cosy Bar at 2am.Mind you if i was 40yrs. younger i would have been there as well at 2am
Review 91:On arrival i was upgraded to a room with better facilities than i had expected at no extra cost .Great views from a large balcony.
Review 92:The coffee at the breakfast.
Review 93:The location, close to everyting, the size of the room and the balcony overlooking the scenaries below. Good breakfast. Good beds.
Review 94:The decor was a little outdated.
Review 95:It was located in the heart of the city, right next to all the restaurants and walking distance to the ski lift. Breakfast was delicious:) Room was spacious.
Review 96:The bar was enjoyable but felt they could have offered better choice of food & snacks in the evening.
Review 97:Myself and my 9 year old just back from a most enjoyable week at hotel Phenix. Staff were wonderful - if you want a relaxed hotel with big rooms & balconies in the middle of town without any pretensions, this is the place to go! Numerous choice of bars and restaurants within a two minute walk. Excellent value for money in Verbier!
Review 98:not big but Good breakfast, quiet even though it was full, spacious rooms with balconys and really in the middle of Verbier although not noisy. Close to the bus!
Review 99:One of the staff members was not very helpful or friendly...and had a bit of an attitude. But others were very accommodating.
Review 100:The location was excellent.
Review 101:No options to have lunch or dinner as no restaurant. Though close by a lot of places to eat.
Review 102:Good location, center and 1 min from bus statio s. . Staff very friendly, helped with everything asked. BReakfast was fine. Parking and wifi for free. We stayed in an apt, which had 2 separate rooms. Rooms were decent, decent furniture. Also elevator. I would say the hotel is a genuine 3*+.
Review 103:Getting old Very old tv You cannot standup in the bathtub, because ceiling is too low
Review 104:Location is very central Cheap Big room (we had a room for 4) Free parking
Review 105:internet is weak and hard to get on during night time.
Review 106:the room is spacious. located in a good location. easy access to restaurants, shops, bus station, supermarket. It feels like home. The place is clean. Staff are very friendly. We've bought a bottle of wine and need a corkscrew, the bar is happy to even open it for us. Check in/out is easy. the chalet has a access code for late return to the chalet. Perfect for our stay. The lady even allows us to use her computer to print our boarding pass. Breakfast is simple but good.
Review 107:Nothing, really. Verbier is so expensive though...
Review 108:The location is fantastic. The bar is great. The staff are friendly, helpful, multi-lingual.. Breakfast is really very good. The room is comfortable, the ability of having a bath is valuable.
Review 109:TV - so old it didn't seem able to receive all cable channels available. It was a small, non-flat screen TV which seemed substandard for cost/size of room. Not that we watched much TV, but it was noticeably sub-standard we felt.
Review 110:Large amount of space (in the family room). Breakfast - very good buffet overall. Relaxed atmosphere
Review 111:under staffed ski room unheated poor/repetative breakfast
Review 112:Large room with excellent view of mountains garage facility close to free navette stop central location
Review 113:Maybe because I booke a little late in a pretty high season (about a month early for a single room) and then my wife demanded to come along and had to change a few days later but the price doubled. It was a nice room, top floor with a nice sunrise and sunset deck- had a good double and an extra twin. Can't complain- it was great.
Review 114:Relatively quiet for a great location. Very good breakfast-much more convenient than trying to go out and then ski- a bit pricey but it seems like that's the Swiss/French way. My wife loved the tub and my friends said they're pretty rare.
Review 115:The rooms need some work. They are getting quite old, with some funky elements like old faux candles for lights. The overhead fixtures were broken as well. Lastly, the breakfast each morning is exactly the same limited thing. I would prefer some variety when staying for a week.
Review 116:Really enjoyed the staff, super friendly and helpful. Loved Verbier, and the hotel is right off the center of town. The hotel was reasonably priced, so the value equation was quite high. Its a pretty easy trip up to the Ski lift as well.
Review 117:The breakfast was very basic and could improve the quality a bit, but adequate overall. You do hear a bit of noise from the street, but the hotel really can't control drunk people making their way home. I think that you will get that at any hotel in center of Verbier.
Review 118:This hotel is in an excellent location and is very charming. It's clean, the rooms are very large, and the staff was very sweet and helpful. For Verbier, it has great value for the money.
Review 119:Lack of heated skiboot racks (no drying) Access to ski room through reception only Noise isolation poor
Review 120:Staff Hotel location Free WiFi Free parking Bar
Review 121:In a resort which sells itself on exclusivity, this is the warm bastienof inclusiveness in the village. The bar is populated by guests andlocals alike and lends itself to making friends with the people who makethe town work. There is a come as you are sense and everyone meets on anequal footing, the manager seb is the most genuine host, helpful andfriendly, you get the sense you're staying at his house. The staffare fantastically french and a few times we'd find ourselves buyingeach other drinks! There is claudia as well, who I think actually may bein charge of the world going round or at least gravity or time orsomething as she seems to intuit exactly what you need, when and how todo it, all on an a4 sheet. We loved it, it's great. A great Hotel.Who cares about bathroom tiles.
Review 122:The price is pretty high, but I guess Vebier is expensive resort itself. Also sound isolation is not the best, the Loft bar in front of hotel gotvery noisy during the night and it was a big deal to fall asleep everysingle night. Some facilities like tap didnt work proper way (but theseare small things).
Review 123:Staff is very friendly and not annoying. Spacios room (especially 1-sttime I stayed) I stayed in this hotel 2 times.
Review 124:Exellent location Staff is friendly Family room is big and nice Elevator to the room floors is directly from garage which is comfortable to carry bags Ski room entrance directly from garage to carry skies, it makes easy
Review 125:Nope, can't think of anything!
Review 126:In particular, the staff. Exceptionally helpful, friendly (but not overbearing or intrusive) and kind.
Review 127:there s no restaurant so with little one , always need to go out.
Review 128:Great location, the owner is really nice. People are friendly.
Review 129:Shower hand held only
Review 130:most wonderful location excellent breakfast very welcoming
