Reviews for Spa & Hotel Victoria Lauberhorn

Review 1:The hotel - like many Swiss public buildings - is a little over-heated for my tastes. Do not plan to wear your thick knitted apres-ski sweater!

Review 2:The service, food, room, spa and atmosphere are all excellent.

Review 3:Very good breakfast but dinner was very average and not of the standard you would expect from a hotel of this class.

Review 4:The spa. Comfortable beds. Attractive bar area.

Review 5:The staff at breakfast were somewhat rude--both to us and to other parties who came in after we were seated.

Review 6:The hotel was clean and comfortable and the front desk staff were very helpful. We enjoyed the spa, especially after several days of hiking in the Alps!

Review 7:Enjoyed a car free village. Great location for hiking and access from train. Great location to get to The Top of Europe with excellent assistance from staff for a beautiful day!

Review 8:The pool and location are amazing. The sheets were really uncomfortable. Front desk staff were wonderful, but serving staff at breakfast and dinner were neither pleasant nor helpful.

Review 9:location

Review 10:The staff were excellent, and really went out of their way to meet all needs. Excellent room with perfect view, and nice facilities, including the spa pool. Will definitely return, and stay longer next time.

Review 11:It must mention in the website that the hotel is located in a "CAR FREE" village. And it should be a clear information for viewers explain to them how toget their and about the transportation

Review 12:The location was amazing, you feel like in the sky. Cozy and friendly atmosphere

Review 13:Check out was at 10 am which is like too early if you have gone for leisure. Also paying almost 250 CHF was a bit too much. Overall ok.

Review 14:The room was expensive but quite spacious and with a wonderful view. Further it was quite close to the station.

Review 15:Very small bed Very small room Less choice of breakfast High price according to what I mention up

Review 16:Climet wether was comfortable for walk Quite place Very nice service in hotel & worm welcoming

Review 17:Hotels refusal to provide refund for 2 nights as we had paid for 3 but decided to move to another property after 1 night.

Review 18:The pool and proximity to High Street

Review 19:Nothing, but it could be tricky to get to, you need to park ur car at Lauterbrunen & take a 15-min train ride to get to the hotel,

Review 20:Good service, spectacular scenery,

Review 21:Had a service problem, however the staff responded appropriately after a little perseverance. Hotel is in front of the station, be aware of train noise and also various maintenance activities.

Review 22:Pool / Spa great and the views amazing. Rest as advertised.

Review 23:It’s very close to the station so there is some noise from around 7am. Also a stream of Chinese tour groups arriving and leaving early in the morning also added to the early morning wake up call.

Review 24:The Spa is great and much appreciated after a day of hiking. The staff are super helpful. What a location! great views, especially from the rooms on the top floors. The rooms are basic but comfortable.

Review 25:Hotel was very near the train station with easy access to restaurants, shops and very near to the tourist information office. Liked it so much, I cancelled my stay in Bern and stayed 3 nights in order to see as much here as possible and enjoy this hotel.

Review 26:This hotel was wonderful and the staff was warm and friendly, but whatno review we'd read had prepared us for was the incredible poolwhich was like a spa and adult playground combined.

Review 27:Not at all.

Review 28:Excellent location. The spa made the journey most memorable to my 6 year old son. The lady serving the spa counter is most helpful and caring!

Review 29:Previous reviews did warm that bathrooms are small and they were not wrong.

Review 30:Excellent pool and spa (providing you can cope with Swiss attitude to towels only in sauna and nothing at all in steam room- all mixed sexes!)

Review 31:Hotel & room were outdated and past their prime. Spa & Pool was basic. Near zero in-room amenities (coffee, tea, water etc.) You are paying entirely for the views, nothing else.

Review 32:Outstanding views & location

Review 33:The rooms did not have any shampoo and not enough towels. The breakfast was cold and dishes were flavorless. They had a variety of cereal, fruit and toast but the eggs and "hot" dishes were not good.

Review 34:Great location and the staff was very professional and friendly.

Review 35:- The Breakfast buffet is same all days, it would be better if the menu was changed. - Not a budget hotel, price from above 120€ per night for standard doublebed room . - While accessing the indoor Pool, the lady who is incharge was grumpy and not happy in having children using the pool, moreover there was no sign which showed which changing area could be used by hotel guests and which was reserved for non-resident customers who visit there just for sauna/massage/pool.

Review 36:- Right next to Wengen railway station. - Good access to Jungfrau and Lauterbraunen. - Ideal for families with children. If you admire nature & adventure its far better to stay in Wengen, Lauterbraunen or Grindwal than interlaken or Lucerne.

Review 37:None

Review 38:I highly highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Breakfast was outstanding too. Staff phenomenal. Everything was just about perfect if not perfect

Review 39:Small rooms, noise from the railway, small spa area.

Review 40:Good connection to bike routes and hiking trails. Close to train station. Clean rooms, kind staff.

Review 41:Shower was bad, hot and cold mixer was not working properly, very small bathroom and room

Review 42:Breakfast, view from the hotel, SPA and swimming pool facility. Location of hotel is right beside the Wengen Station.

Review 43:First impressions - on checking in I was told I had booked wrongly and that I had to pay double. Whilst I had infact booked wrongly, the staff called Lara was abrupt with me by stating 'it was your fault' ' it is not my problem' 'do you want to stay or not because I have things to do'. I explained that whilst I made a booking mistake, I am willing to pay extra but felt it wasn't appropriate to be spoken to in a stern tone especially on checking in, it is poor customer service. She replied that it was not her problem. Because of Lara I give a zero rating, she started our holiday off negatively and could have been avoided if she worked on her customer service skills. The hotel is 3 star, but should be a 2 star.

Review 44:I liked checking out and leaving the hotel knowing my family and I would never return, and that I will tell everyone I possibly can never to stay at this hotel

Review 45:Not that its just this hotel but they don't have a top sheet on thebed must be a European thing! A bar fridge would have been good &tea & coffee making facilities & also an iron in the room butagain this seems to be common in Europe

Review 46:Hotel was very close to train station so didn't have to haul bagsvery far. Views to the alps were jaw dropping amazing! The enclosedpool/spa was fabulous which was large with various current, bubbles& pulsing water! One early evening they had candles all around thepool & kid free which was heaven 7 looking to the alps!! Staff veryhelpful & chatty & when we wanted to change our room to lookover the alps couldn't do enough to make it happen!

Review 47:-Extremely cold reception staff -Unwelcoming and dry attitude -Pool staff are 24/7 on your backs controlling every little detail of what you cant or can do...like when we were in school... -Receptionist neither said hello or good morning...they just look at you when you approach them waiting for you to speak and finish quickly so that they can get back to whatever they are doing. -The Blankets in the rooms were to worn out that you dint feel like touching them and the pillows have become extremely thin and worn out as well.

Review 48:The Pool / spa The location near the train station

Review 49:The restaurant was pretty busy and the service was not as good as expected.

Review 50:Clean rooms with good views, the room was just reasonable size, not spacious but well suited for two persons. Very easy to access from the train station. Like the balconey where you could be just relaxed.

Review 51:No car access as it is high on the mountains so we had to park our car in train station and take all the luggage to the train and as a result staying there costs expensive. Spa was only open till 8 pm. The family suite was duplex and children bed was downstairs so not good for families with very young children.

Review 52:Styled with great taste from yard to rooms, Comfortable beds, Breakfast delicious and healthy, great spa and gym, exquisite restaurant food, fantastic view of Jungfrau mount. Close to Ski slopes so great for winter. Fantastic and memorable stay in general.

Review 53:The reception staff was not generally engaged in customer centric approach to guest relations. They were always in the back room and were not helpful on questions about the area. The hotel seemed too geared toward managing large groups in and out, so the individual travellers suffer the consequences.

Review 54:Location is just off the train from Lauterbrunnen; the restaurant staff and food was excellent.

Review 55:One member of staff supervising the wellness centre (includes the swimming pool) was a little grumpy towards me as I took my children in. The expectation seemed to be that they would misbehave which i objected to. This stood out as people Switzerland were usually so welcoming.

Review 56:The hotel is right in the middle of town which is great. There's a swimming pool (for quiet kids only), children's playground, chess set, table tennis and boule court. The breakfast is good.

Review 57:Tiny room and priceness, though they did not appear out of line for what I saw for the rest of Europe

Review 58:location and helpfulness of staff

Review 59:Not a thing.

Review 60:The fresh, clean room and the wonderful salt water pool. The walk from the train station only steps away.

Review 61:Lack of kettle in room

Review 62:Friendliness of staff

Review 63:The beds were twin bed rather than the double bed

Review 64:The breakfast and the location was really nice

Review 65:Nothing

Review 66:Everything was fantastic. Fabulous wellness centre.

Review 67:Location, Staff friendliness, Breakfast. Very close to Wengen station. Room had a great view of the Alps.

Review 68:It was just perfect. The hotel and staff were excellent.

Review 69:but racist staff in restaurant during breakfast.

Review 70:Friendly and cooperative staff at reception,

Review 71:Breakfast menue

Review 72:The location is very good and the spa facility is a good one

Review 73:Location.

Review 74:very easy access from the station (still quiet) and nice pool area

Review 75:Location!!!!! I liked everything about his hotel!!

Review 76:Very polite and helpful staff. Hotel is in a great position, with wonderful views.

Review 77:Staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Swimming-pool facilities are fantastic

Review 78:Can't think of anything!

Review 79:Amazing views of all the mountains. Good breakfast and nice staff.

Review 80:Spectacular views, friendly, helpful staff, excellent pool and spa. Convenient location.

Review 81:Overpriced. Charged $100 each for my 16 and 17 year old children traveling with me. Not friendly.

Review 82:Location

Review 83:Hopless staff

Review 84:Nothing.. :)

Review 85:Nice location and very near to station. Salt water pool and Sauna is free of charge. Good breakfast.

Review 86:The staff were superb. The hotel facilities were also superb

Review 87:Friendly staff, central location, lovely spa experience and very tasty scrambled eggs!

Review 88:Hauling luggage, no minibar in room. Location not ideal for beginner skiers.

Review 89:Scenery, food, staff. Rail transportation is excellent.

Review 90:only pillows were too soft?

Review 91:almost everything

Review 92:Bathrooms too small. It is unacceptable

Review 93:Nice hotel, friendly staff. Easy walk to the metro and easy to navigate into Milan city.

Review 94:need to reserve dinner before 4pm

Review 95:salt water pool is the highlight

Review 96:The lobby is not pretty and the reception staff was some dimes is ding on action

Review 97:Was a lovely hotel with a relaxing pool/ spa

Review 98:Breakfast not very varied Paying extra for bathrobes No slippers provided

Review 99:Overall nice and clean

Review 100:Size of room

Review 101:Just more space for the room

Review 102:A bland evening meal with limited options but the breakfast made up for that.

Review 103:Lovely views, pool and good facilities.

Review 104:every part of the hotel is excellent. good location, good breakfast and helpful staff.

Review 105:none

Review 106:everything

Review 107:To light in the room 432 missing blackout curtains.

Review 108:Great location and atmosphere and fantastic breakfast. We really liked the place!

Review 109:No lotion etc in the room. A bit cumbersome to take skis in and out (were told the last day we should have been given a special key card).

Review 110:A very nice pool and spa area.

Review 111:The hotel charged my credit card even it is stated that payment to bemade during the stay. Tried to ask if we can pay by cash but theyrejected as they confirmed that payment has been charged. As I amtravelling in Europe for 1-2 months, I am unable to make payment to mycard for the due payment. I am so frustrated too as I have get ready thecash for the hotel payment and now I have extra Swiss francs with me.The staff isn't polite as well.

Review 112:the Wengen town is located in a very hard to move area , you need to use the train each and every time to reach there .... no staff to help you with the luggage....

Review 113:the nature , quietness , nice views ...

Review 114:The staff were very friendly, helpful, fluent in many languages and great with young children. Having a pool was wonderful but it is a "relaxation" pool so it is fine if the children are old enough to know to whisper as opposed to scream with joy! There was a small playground too which children loved and outdoor chess board. Food again great and offered a choice for children too. Very good value for money. The location is stunning and 2 minutes walk to the train station so all very easy. Would recommend highly.

Review 115:From the outside this is a typical alpine hotel, but the inside has been modernised. Some of the outside areas - the terrace/patio outside our room appeared shabby and unkempt.

Review 116:First, we must commend the very pleasant manner of the staff. The hotel itself is conveniently within a minute's walk of the railway station. It has views on two sides of the Jungfrau and the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The room was comfortable - adjustable beds were very comfy. The pool was wonderful - the rapids great fun! The public restaurant Pasta and More, was very reasonable, food excellent and the staff very good.

Review 117:wd be perfact if the spa can open until later ie 10pm?

Review 118:its very special to have such a spa place for 3star hotel, n breakfast is super as well for 3 star hotel.

Review 119:Only train can go to wengen. So if you rent a car or plan to come by walking you cannot.

Review 120:Amazing Location, When you get up you will see lovely views of hills with ice on the top. Jungfaru is just a train away. Great Breakfast , internet is free and very fast, lots of facilities.

Review 121:Staff at the restaurant and some staff at the reception was snappish, unhelpful and did not make me feel welcome at all. Service, interior and breakfast convey the impression - functional but budget.

Review 122:Location, view and wellness

Review 123:The television was very small and located high on the wall. If you wear bifocals, as I do, it was difficult to see. In addition, the volume could only be increased to a pre-determined level. This made hearing the TV difficult. The food served in the hotel restaurant was average.

Review 124:The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom had a great shower. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff very courteous and helpful. I would stay at this hotel again.

Review 125:Only drawback was the amount of large tour parties arriving or leaving on a regular basis early in the morning (6.30am) or late at night (midnight one time), which was pretty noisy. Apart from that, would definitely recommend hotel.

Review 126:Very good location near to the station and outstanding views of mountains from our balcony. Very good food, excellent pool facilities (view of mountains through glass windows whilst swimming). Games room for children, ours played table tennis every evening after eating.

Review 127:Best thing about hotel is nice Spa and pool. Otherwise a bit overpriced for what is on offer. Breakfast was slightly chaotic, staff appear to need some training. Location by station is convenient but downside is noise from station - we were woken early on Sunday morning by a very loud group outside.

Review 128:The staffs are not friendly at all (at least to us as chinese). Theydidi not show their respect to us although we paid 300+ chf/night. Ittook more than 10mins to check if we had the right to use the spafacility. They even wanted to charge us the additional money when we askthe kettle or the hot water for tea/coffea in the room. Room is small. The balcony is not clean. The slippers need to buy. Only liquid soap isprovided in room and spa without any body gel, shanmpoo or conditioner. It really spoiled the wonderful location and the view. It is definitelynot worth the money we paid.

Review 129:Location and view
