Reviews for Tall Trees Bed & Breakfast

Review 1:Entrance staircase to top floor was half built. Arrived late afternoon to a note stuck to the door to let ourselves in. Room had not seen a good clean for ages. Thick dust and fluff around the edges of the floor, TV and window sills etc.

Review 2:Friendly, if disorganised host.

Review 3:Advertised as having sound proofing between suites. But could hear every bump and thump upstairs and from next door.

Review 4:Very comfortable suite with my own bathroom/shower. Separate entrance. Optional Breakfast (Did not have). They are pet friendly (owner has a dog of her own).

Review 5:Andrea was very helpful in facilitating arrival and departure as well as providing excellent choices for breakfast. Upon arrival our reserved room had been just used by a guest and still had a perfume odour. We were upgraded to another room without hesitation. A very accommodating host.

Review 6:1) How beautiful each of the rooms are (I've gotten a glimpse into each one.) I'm staying in the East suite and it is downright luxurious. Balcony with a view of forest, nice bathroom with upright shower, absolutely beautiful Queen-sized bed and huge TV with DVD player (movies available in a bookshelf for guests), a space heater/faux fireplace. Very spacious. 2) How nice and accommodating Andrea, the owner, is. Also her delicious nutritious breakfasts. 3) Twirly staircase 4) Beautifully situated in my opinion. A quick 15 minute walk to town if you cut across the avenues and, amazingly, mere steps away from an Old-Growth forest creek-side walking trail which also leads right into town, in a more roundabout way. Take the scenic route at least once, it's worth it!

Review 7:The king bed was very comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom was large with a soaker tub and separate shower-very nice. Breakfast was very good - good coffee, bacon, fruit and your pick of eggs. Hostes was very friendly. We had a great stay

Review 8:Nothing!

Review 9:Andrea was very friendly and helpful and cooked an excellent breakfast. Close to the house is a lovely woodland walk along the river, all the way to Cow Bay.

Review 10:The wifi was slow.

Review 11:We were very impressed with Andrea's attention to detail. The room was like a home away from home. My husband and I were very comfortable there.

Review 12:So casual and friendly I felt totally at ease in the home right away totally accommodating to all our needs very comfy cozy room wonderful for our dog

Review 13:Wifi wasn't great. Kept getting dropped.

Review 14:The room was absolutely beautiful and incredibly comfortable with a massive television. It was like being in a ridiculously inexpensive hotel. You get so much more than you pay for. Wonderful breakfast with a very friendly host in a very nice home. Can't say enough good things.

Review 15:Andrea made us feel right at home and part of her family. She went out of her way to make our stay comfortable even accommodating to our 3:30 AM departure the next day.

Review 16:Very friendly service, accommodating and comfortable with great knowledge of the community, best Bed &Breakfast we stayed at, thanks for the great stay.

Review 17:General lack of cleanliness, especially in the kitchen where breakfast was prepared. Carpets on upper floor dirty too. Mice in the guest room which came out at night to eat up bread left on the table! Broken door lock and some light bulbs in the bathroom not working. Other travellers reported broken light bulbs too. A place with good potential but not well maintained.

Review 18:Off the centre but still in walking distance. Quiet street. Balcony with view into the garden. Guest room was new.

Review 19:The bathroom was new but one that had several steps.

Review 20:Jaime, the hostess, was most accommocating. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The location was fine but hard to find in the dark after the ferry ride to Prince Rupert. The room and bath were both clean and the bed comfortable. The hostess, Jaime, was very accommodating and the breakfast fine.

Review 21:I had a little difficulty finding this location after getting off the BC Ferry late at night.

Review 22:The young woman running this place single-handedly for the owner is very competent, friendly, and super helpful.

Review 23:No screens on the windows. The 1st night we got there a big fly took a while to corner + swat, but we did it!

Review 24:We got reassurance Tall Trees B&B had comfortable beds + a no-smoking policy! Jaimie, our hostess, treated us quite like royalty... she got up at different times and made delicious breakfasts for each of her guests! She gave us excellent information about tours + tour guides and even different places to see, some right around Tall Trees B&B! We both LOVED our time there, +recommend this stay to others!

Review 25:Bedroom smelt of dog. Needed a deep clean. 2 mice in the bedroom that came out periodically. Armchair or sofa would have been nice - only the bed and a desk chair to sit at. The 'hot tub' was the bath tub The 'private entrance' is unfinished Wifi was very slow and intermittent

Review 26:Jaime, who ran the B&B was very friendly and helpful re the local area Large bedroom (we had the north bedroom) Sociable breakfast with the other guest

Review 27:When I booked the room, I emailed the B&B that we would arrive late and needed to leave early in the morning to catch the ferry but I never received any response. On arrival, there was an envelope at the main door with the room key and a note, saying, that the host couldn't be there to welcome us but if we needed anything we should call them via the house telephone. I searched everywhere but there was no telephone. We had to make sure to get a taxi ordered to pick us up early the next morning but had no way of calling a taxi without a phone. I wrote a message on the note and placed it in front of our room and luckily the landlady saw the note and arranged a taxi for us. However, we didn't know this until when we got up the next morning, so we didn't have a good sleep as we were worried that we would miss our ferry. Also, the bedding in the room was quite smelly. It smelled like it had been used before and hadn't been changed. The B&B looked a bit tired and could do with a little bit of tidying up. The only nice room was the bathroom. The landlady was very friendly though and gave us a nice packed breakfast for our early start but I would not stay there again. The location is tricky for someone that arrives as foot passenger on the ferry. It is too far to walk from the ferry terminal to the B&B and there seems to be only one taxi operating.

Review 28:The bathroom was very clean and tidy. The packed breakfast was good.

Review 29:Our stay was only one night, but the room was very clean, comfortable, quit and friendly service.

Review 30:dirty laundry in baskets, mop and bucket, dirty sinks, no breakfast prepared, had to ask for everything, very grumpy hostess, unpleasant all around

Review 31:No sign on the street ,dificult to find the house. to expensive for one night.150 canada dollares.

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:The owner and the guests

Review 34:great room, very kind hostess, enjoyed our late night talks! If she wants, she can make an empire out of her B&B's.

Review 35:I liked everything. It was comfortable and the owner was a sweetheart.

Review 36:Excellent place with everything provided. Clean, quiet, nice room. The extra snacks and wine left in the room were much appreciated!

Review 37:It was a bit cold in the house

Review 38:Excellent host Great atmosphere Nicely decorated Pet friendly Good value

Review 39:Friendly service. Great breakfast. Very comfortable room.

Review 40:Comfortable beds. Andrea is a very good host. Nice quiet property.

Review 41:Great rooms , great bed ,great breakfast . Host is very friendly and accommodating .

Review 42:The B&B was in a residential area yet close enough to the harbor. The owner/operator was friendly and helpful!

Review 43:nothing

Review 44:friendly owner

Review 45:Nothing.

Review 46:Breakfast in a bag for consumption on the ferry. Ensuite bathroom and shower facilities. Comfortable king size bed. Friendly staff.

Review 47:The carpets needed cleaning, large stains. Had a rodent chewing on some candy in the room...was suppose to get a discount but charged regular rate.

Review 48:staff very friendly breakfast to order was very good

Review 49:Everything was clean on the surface but the cleaning overall need attention.

Review 50:The room was good and the bathroom well equipped. Breakfast was perfect. The hospitality was very good. Jaimie and Phil ware very kind and helpful.

Review 51:The house is a bit "tired". While there is a secondary set of stairs available the main access to the North Suite is via a spiral staircase. Not so great if you have some mobility issues. I could not get more than one clear channel on the TV.

Review 52:Jaimie (staff) was excellent. Personable, charming and fun to talk with. She also provided a wonderful breakfast. I was in the North Suite. The room was spacious and private with a very comfortable bed and huge bathroom.

Review 53:The facility was clean on the surface but had spiders and was webby - regular vacuuming of the baseboards would help with this. Also, the ceiling fan needs to be cleaned - very dirty. There was no seating other than the bed and a little chair at the desk. I would have liked to have had some comfy chairs to sit in for reading or watching TV. The room was certainly big enough to have fit them. Although the table was clean in the breakfast room other visible areas were not - the chairs could definitely stand to be cleaned. The whole house could stand a deep clean.

Review 54:The room was spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was very nice and cooked to order. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom nice and big.

Review 55:I would have liked a rug beside the bed so I didn't have to put my feet onto the cold floor in the morning, but that's a minor detail (I should have brought slippers).

Review 56:Jaimie was a wonderful host! She made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed or could ask for. She was very accommodating with our breakfast times, too. :-) It was very quiet and relaxing.

Review 57:We thought the manager, Jamie, was excellent. She went out of her way to give help and advice. She seemed to be very hard working and accommodated the different of the guests - especially at breakfast.

Review 58:this is just a great place to stay; the rooms are very nice, big, clean, flat-screen TV, tons of DVDs, good breakfast, nice staff, located besides the rain-forest!

Review 59:It wasn't clean, food/coffee were definitely not what we would have expected, we had to greet guests a couple of times because host was not there. We paid almost $400 and feel we did not get our moneys worth. Will not recommend or go back.

Review 60:We liked the location and Jamie was nice.

Review 61:More thought given to extra amenities than to basics such as greeting upon arrival, bedside tables and reading lamps, dressers, place for toilet kit at sink

Review 62:Overall comfort, privacy of each room, many extra amenities, cooked to order breakfast whenever you want it, helpfulness of manager

Review 63:Loved that Tall Trees was Pet Friendly, and the staff was Very accomidating - Jaimie was very pleasant both over email and in person. The room we stayed exceeded expectations even after viewing the 360 degree tour online. simple beautiful. Within 20 minute walk of the main streets, and in a cozy little neighbourhood,. Honestly could not have asked for better.

Review 64:The North Suite needs a screen on the south window so the window can be opened for a cross breeze. The temp. and humidity were high, and the room was subsequently stuffy. A note in the room about the complimentary bottle of wine would have been nice. We missed out on that. (By the way, the top of the armmoir was very dusty.)

Review 65:Excellent value for the price. Bedroom was wonderful. Quiet side street, close to community trail. Free snacks and a bottle of wine. The "open menu" breakfast is a great idea, allows travelers to choose how much, and what sorts of foods they want.

Review 66:The only thing we can think of is the bed in our room. The mattress should be replace because the one we were on is bumpy

Review 67:Good food, snacks were available, walking distance to most places. there is a nature trail behind the B & B where you can see eagles. Ah but the hostess Jamie was an excellent host. She was informative, pleasant to talk too & works very hard

Review 68:The staff were exceptionally accommodating and the breakfast was terrific each morning. Our family was made to feel very at home.

Review 69:Spacious Room, Comfy bed Great Host ,Nice And quiet

Review 70:Feels like home away from home

Review 71:Good location. Comfy beds. Feels like home. Excellent breakfast.

Review 72:Comfortable rooms Very quiet neighbourhood

Review 73:I still haven't received my e-bill.

Review 74:The staff were very friendly and helpful, and maid us feel at home.

Review 75:The town is very run down.

Review 76:The drive from Kitimat to Prince Rupert was beautiful.

Review 77:First class hospitality, and freshly cooked / cold brealfast
