Review 9：The hotel room smell moldy and musty when we first stepped in. Bedding and sheet felt damp during our 7 days of stay. Bathroom fan didn't work for the first two days and we have to call twice to get it fixed. When taking a shower in the first 2 days, steam filled up the whole room and tile floor is wet if you don't turn on the AC. Restaurant takes forever to bring food on the table. Balcony light switch is behind the night stand. We have to use Google translator to ask the cleaning lady to find the switch. Bathroom towel rack is not close to the bath tub, it's cross the bath room on the other side of the wall. Hand towel has to hang on the extended mirror arm. Sink looks good, but there is no way to wash your face or anything in it. Mildew and mold grow along the bath tub. 2nd floor disco music is very loud and unbearable.

Review 15：The location is quite a bit away from the rest of Jaco. You are really isolated in the reset/casino unless you're going to take a taxi. It is also difficult for visitors to get in, so you are quite isolated.

Review 16：Field of dreams facility built for far more visitors than are currently there. When I was there, the staff was extremely attentive and it was very comfortable. I do question if they will be able to keep that up if they get to be full as it seems to be very labor intensive.

Review 19：Couldn't take the towels on the beach. Food could generally be better but the presentation of the dishes is great. Again, they are trying and it left good impression. Note, nowhere in Costa Rica did we find good food. But maybe it's just us.

We had a 7:00 AM flight and we had to get going without taking a shower! I hope someone could get back to us and explain how could they charge for bottles of water when no water is available in the room???? We were traveling with party of 8 people and we spend thousands of fillers at the hotel and they were worried about a few bottles if waster. Bad situation ......,

Review 28：From the moment the Valet guy welcomed us until he told us good bye we felt welcome. Jaco is Jaco. I love the place but have always called it sin city of costa rica. It needed a place like this so bad, this takes it up to a more classy place. Families, couples, trip for guys, trip for girls etc can go and have great time.

Review 29：Pool was too small for this hotel because the neighboring apartments also had access to this pool which made it even harder to find a chair to relaxe, the food was'nt good but was expensive. The rooms had way too much humidity even with the air conditioning on 24 hours a day.

Review 32：The owner and his father were very nice and the Resort & Staff are tops.The VALET parking was a nice service. Very good food with an excellent pricing structure. 100mb internet. Quality all around, and they have a pair of beautiful Croc's with an Amazing habitat. I must say it is the best FIVE STAR Resort for Ticos and Gringos!!!

Review 33：The prices at the pool bar were double...so I was told that the menu was Wong ...they charged double and more the price for a Bloody Mary and the beer almost a dollar more ,that was at the menu plus Iva ...I really complain for false advertisement....

Review 34：The air conditioned was not working at all,, and it could not be regulated...so at midnight ...they change us to anther room... Very nice ...but....the sink under the bathroom was leaking at all times...nice hotel but lots od anormalities....

Review 35：The street to the hotel was closed, so you have to find the Hotelyourself via the beach without signs.The return from paid in US $ was changed in CR-colon. Why that?? The option " early check in " was requested, but not allowed. The smell inside the room 603 was horrible and the aircondicion didn´t work properly. Without to open the door the water run from the walls and the floor was slippery.The inside temperatur was 17 degree C. and impossible to change it. The bed was numb and impossible to sleep well. Next day we waited 1 hour for our breakfast and the excuse was a problem inside the kitchen, but the other guest became there breakfast. Our penalty for this advertising : NO MORE COFFEE . Every second tool inside the Gym was out of service. Not sufficient places with shadow. RESULT: NEVER Croc´s Resort

Review 37：I could not get over the horrible smell of the room! I also was surprised at the noise! We asked for a quiet room, but there is no carpet, not even in the hallways, to absorb noise. I could hear the people next door snoring, opening up a soda can, laughing and having sex at 1:45 am, two nights in a row! I was in a room with my daughter and we certainly did not need to be woken up on our vacation! In addition, they charged me an extra $120 over the price I booked through this website. They did correct it once I brought it to their attention. Make sure you watch the charges on your account!

Review 38：Very good food and primarily good service and friendly atmosphere. Very clean interior and exterior. One of the best pools I've seen. Enjoyed the bar and gambling although not many people at the casino.

Review 39：The impression given on booking dot com was that the suite would have two rooms. However at the time of check in we were informed that the only difference between the standard rooms booked by other friends and my booking apart from the view was 2 king beds! They did not even offer to upgrade us- considering we had 5 rooms including mine booked with them for 4 nights!

Review 40：The first impression.... Was not so good. The moment you drive up to thehotel you get a lovely smell of sewer, but when you go through the gateit goes away. Although the rooms are very clean.... They have a seriousproblem with mold. Yes, mold. We stayed in more than one room and it wasthe same for both on different floors. The moment you walk in to anyroom you get a such a humid scent of what feels like that of anabandoned house.... That bad. Its a kick in the nostrils. And no matterwhat you do it just doesn't go away. After looking all over and notfinding anything we finally looked behind the beds headrest panels, andbingo.... They were al covered in black mold! That's where the smellwas coming from and it made it worse when you were near the bed. That isa real nightmare. If you are an asthmatic or allergic person youdefinately dont want to sleep there. I was very disappointed to know a"5 star" hotel would have this in their bedrooms! I could notsleep from the smell.... And being right on top of the discoteque aswell. You hear the music until almost 5am. I did not get good sleep forwhat I was paying. The walls arent exactly made of paper but you canalways hear anything going on in the halls or even in the next room. Sowhen staff goes by with their radios at 7am you hear it.

Review 41：The staff was great. Especially the valet, cleaning service and thepool staff. The pool area is nice with many lawn chairs to lay on andyou get service right there. The bed and pillows were very comfy andtheres a nice bath tub and great showerhead! If you needed 5 morebottles of shampoo and conditioner they would give them to you. Andreplace them every day anyway. You get breakfast delivered to your roomfor free and the valet parking is great (also free). The hotel andcasino is nice and its a fun environment. The food variety is great! Alittle overpriced in some restaurants but you have a few choices of alltypes right there. I really liked that. The mediterranean restaurantcloses at midnight which is nice. The rooms balcony was directlyoverlooking the crocodiles and ocean.

Review 42：We don't have a great experience with the food. For example great tuna but not so great the salad. The "arroz con pollo" the pollo not so good and the fries were really greasy. Breakfast were GREAT!

Did not go out of way to assist us at all and were rude when we asked questions; at the pool bar, breakfast area, etc. Jacuzzi in pool is not a hot jacuzzi, just a pool with jets in bad locations. Food was average or below and overpriced. Casino was decent, but pit boss thought he was in Vegas with people betting millions when we were at a $5.00 table. Plus Crocs has charged us an extra $485.00 and never refunded it yet. When we call we get transferred over and over and end up with a message box that's "full." Have been disputing the charge with my credit card company. Would NOT stay again or recommend to others.

Review 54：We walked into our deluxe room and instantly realized the hard floors were completely wet and dangerously slippery. While it has to do with outside humidity and air conditioning, the floor materials are completely unsuitable for this climate. Maid surface dried the floor, but the next morning after opening the sliding glass door to the balcony, it happened all over again. Second, we go out to the beautiful pools and hot tubs for a soak in a hot tub. The water is not heated at all! It's a cold tub. We definitely did not want more than one night of this hotel.

Review 55：The people are very friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful, modern facility that on the surface looks great, BUT...beneath the surface has some serious problems.

Review 56：My overall experience was good but I would like to have felt more inclusion from the staff interactions as they did other guest.. I was at the pool 3 days and the poolside waiters never approached me for anything but they approached the Spanish speaking guest as well as Caucasian guest. This made me feel a bit out of place. I guess they could use a bit of diversity and sensitivity training. However, the manager at the Parsley restaurant whose name was Melvin was super nice.

Need to put waste basket and full size mirror inside rooms. Both bathrooms from 405 and 407 have plumming odors. They smell a bit. They were properly clean, not sure from where smell is coming. Artificial tropical flower arrangements in lobby and elevator area look cheap, not for a top quality hotel like this one. This are suggestions for your improvement.

Review 76：Pictures are NOT real!! Insanely overpriced!Anyone who pays for this is a fool. The same standard of hotel (and beach/city) in Europe, Asia or even Panama would be less than 50% the price. The rooms, lobby and other facilities are like any other generic 4-star hotel, no extras, no fanciness, no finesse... the only splurge is the price ($280).The pictures are NOT real! It's a deliberate lie.The pictures they use online are computer animated and are not what the real rooms look like. The pictures paint a much rosier picture than reality, there are no decorations, plants, cozy carpets, fans or open balcony (the latter being our personal concern and our initial complaint as the balcony we got had a 30% view compared to one that is open, which is in the picture). The room that they market simply do not exist.When realizing this, we requested to contact the manager. The answer we got was: “I am the front desk manager” (Mariela Rios). When we emailed her the pictures and complained that they had tricked us to the hotel on false pretences, she replied “pictures are made by computer” as if this was totally ok.Do NOT book this hotel! And, whatever you do, do NOT jeopardize your honeymoon, birthday or anniversary by exposing yourself to these disappointments, lies and confusion. We could walk away from this laughing at the spectacle, but we were very thankful that we didn't end up here on a more significant date.Staff is somewhat friendly but extremely badly trained. Almost every encouter leads to confusion and misunderstandings (not because of the language but because they don't know what's going on). Already within the first 24h did we have about 10 situations where we asked – how can this happen? It is very unsettling as you start expecting confusion in every situation which does not go well with a relaxing time at the beach.Here is just one tidious example:We wanted to eat in the room and decided on the tapas restaurant (one out of 3).
