Reviews for Sibu Hotel
Review 1:The staff is very kind, but the hotel needs alot of improvements and maintenance, not only in the rooms but also in the pool, gardens and common areas.
Review 2:The hotel has a very good location, between Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva.
Review 3:Ants on the bed and shabby room. Even you consult with the receptionist, they will not solve and be stubborn to deny the facts.
Review 4:Maybe the location, but no more.
Review 5:Hotel pictures look very different from what you see when arrived to the Hotel. The bed linen needs , ceiling and flooring need to be renewed.
Review 6:Hotel has a great location and the owners are very nice persons.
Review 7:Pino, the owner, was very friendly and eager to please and the lush, natural gardens were great for seeing birds, including a toucan by the pool, and many insects. The pool was great entertainment for my 8 year old son and many pool toys were available. A bungalow was the perfect size for my family of four and my baby was very safe to crawl around. The photos on the website are truthful and you can see that the rooms are simple but comfortable. The mini fridge was useful and the hotel location is conveniently close to the gourmet store.
Review 8:It was not as pictured, or described. There were either bed bugs or mosquitoes in the room we kept waking up with bites and couldn't get any sleep. The owner and staff published that they can communicate in english, that was not the case This so called hotel put a damper on our vist.
Review 9:Not a thing. We tried to change our reservations, however the owner refused to refund for our remaining stay.
Review 10:If you don't have a car, it's pretty far out from the town and taxis are expensive. Hot water did not function properly. Wifi didn't work well from one room. Couldn't pay with credit card
Review 11:Jasmine was super nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Beautiful grounds and pool area. Got a free upgrade one night which was nice of them
Review 12:The bungalow was dirty, very hold structure, the shower was cold and the wifi available only in the all...
Review 13:The Position, the staff very kind and the wild life around the hotel
Review 14:The Bungalows are 20 years old but still in a very good shape.
Review 15:The Hotel is close to Puerto Viejo in an area surrounded by an impressive Nature. The Room was clean and comfortable and the Stuff extremly friendly and helpfull.Relaxing on the pool was the perfect Moment after an intensive business day.
Review 16:Room unacceptable, very little interior lighting, no hot water, bed with no mattress pad, exterior surfaces really in need of pressure washing, no television or clock. I had to sit outside and use the outside entry light to read .... REALLY! Pool entry very unsafe
Review 17:Quiet location, friendly staff
Review 18:Beautiful enviroment very close to the beach (walking distancie). Noche and quiet Pool. Great service and helpful and kind owners.
Review 19:a/c poured water on to the floor, wanted all room fees in cash ,no credit cards , no other guests isolated ,
Review 20:breakfast
Review 21:Bad wifi No possibility to pay by credit card, only cash
Review 22:Breakfast and nice receptionist!
Review 23:No water pressure or hot water in first room, switched, but still no hot water. The beach is advertised as 200 meters away, and this may be true, if you could walk straight to the beach, but you cannot. It is actually a 15 minute walk down the main road and through the jungle to a beach that is pretty, but not usable for water activities, due to rocks and coral at the shore line. We had planned to stay nine days, decided to leave due to the problems. The owner put the full amount on our credit card at time of arrival, and refused to refund any part, saying that our rate was a non refundable rate, which is not true. When we arrived, there were only 4 rooms occupied, including our two rooms. When we left, there was only one. Sine we had trouble finding another place to stay, that says it all. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay at Sibu under any circumstaces.
Review 24:Very Little
Review 25:Few shelves in our small cabin.
Review 26:Walk to small beach. Possible long walk to excellent beach 30-40 minutes; short taxi ride to that beach. Excellent service. Attractive grounds. Swimming pool.
Review 27:1. The room is very simple, and on the second day there was no hot water in the shower.
Review 28:1. There is a nice beach, better than Cahita national park, acrossing the street and a ca. 10 minutes walk along the small roads. 2. Traditional Costa Rica breakfast (eggs, fruit salad, toast bread, juice, coffee and tea) 3. Everyroom has one balcony with chairs and table. 4. Some distance to the town center (souvenir shops and restaurants). But bicycle renting is very popular.
Review 29:No hot water for shower. No internet in room.
Review 30:Nice setting. Comfortable enough, but seemed a bit overpriced.
