Reviews for Les Airelles Bed and Breakfast

Review 1:Nothing. For the ones that complain that the place needs repair: choose another place, pay more money and complain there...

Review 2:Everything. Very nice householders. They took care of all the things you need. Nice breakfast. Thanks a lot! And a wonderful view around, awesome!

Review 3:Aside from the warm welcome and thorough tour of the owners beautiful antique home, we also enjoyed the serenity and all the cosy nooks. They also happily accepted my dog

Review 4:The stairs. Stairs from the street and more stairs up to the room . . . but we knew before we arrived there would be stairs.

Review 5:The hosts were great, available whenever needed, but kept a low profile otherwise. The place was funky but in good way. You would be too if you were 140 years old and someone had to retro fit you with bathrooms and electricity. The breakfast was a little limited but for the price there was little reason to complain.

Review 6:Loved the location, view, breakfast, very easy walking and ease of rolling my suitcase to property from Feydey with no hills, very nice and helpful owners, sweet dog names Tasha, coffee always available, the views ate breathless, property is adorable and homey.

Review 7:Very welcoming and informative hosts.Historical house which transports you back in time with its quirky decor but this adds to the charm of the experience. Unbelievable view from bedroom balcony.

Review 8:Not easy to drive to the B&B.

Review 9:The host is an amazing lady , such a sweetheart ! We had a very large room with a breath taking view on our balcony. Breakfast was ok.

Review 10:Loved the welcome from the owner and his dog! Loved our room, the space, the decor, the comfort, the quiet, the views, the peacefulness, the advice given on hiking, the snacks available 24/7, and yes, I have to mention the views again!! Only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Looking forward to returning.

Review 11:I loved the friendly staff and the laid back atmosphere of this B and B. The house has character, and the location can't be beat if you are here to visit LAS.

Review 12:We loved our staying!. The view is amazing from the balcony where you can enjoy your breakfast. There are also plenty or different routes to hike with breathtaking views and also nice places near to have dinner. Helen and Chris are just lovely.

Review 13:The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. It's a charming older (140 years old the owners told me) hostel and it reminded me of staying at my grandmothers place! I loved it. The view in the morning was spectacular.Breakfast was fresh and standard for breakfast in European lodgings (fruit, yogurt, fresh bread, cereals)

Review 14:The owner and his wife were extremely friendly and seemed like genuinely nice and accommodating people. The hotel is quirky and interesting. Definitely an experience you don't want to miss.

Review 15:Wonderful and carefull staff (including the sweat sweat dog Tasha) BEAUTIFUL town in the alps Comfortable and cosy, makes you feel at home. Great breakfast and hot chocolote always available all the time.

Review 16:Far too expensive to share a bed in a room with 7 people No special price for kids under 12 years old Too far to reach the ski lift unless you take the bus

Review 17:The owners were very nice The kitchen to be shared amongst guests brings a good atmosphere The playroom

Review 18:Its a little out of town but we walked most places and a shuttle bus leaves every hour to take you to the main gondola for skiing.

Review 19:Normally when we go skiing our accommodation is just a place to sleep. les Airelles has a magic about it that draws you back early in the evening, a long soak in the deep bath or to lie up on the sofa and read a book with a hot chocolate. Its so special. Helen has made this place a gem in the Alps, quirky, adorable and very very special.

Review 20:If you are a person who cares about the bath privacy.. It isn't a good place to stay. Baths and shower are communal...

Review 21:As LAS facilities are closer the location is so great... Staff are really family friendly to all costumers... The house has more than 100 years that it is amazing

Review 22:We weren't told beforehand that the bathroom/loo was separate to the room but it wasn't a problem as it was opposite our room and it was never busy.

Review 23:Absolutely beautiful and character-filled old house, it was a pleasure to stay there. Hosts are so friendly and welcoming and breakfast is simple but great.

Review 24:noise because of the guests little bit far from the downtown (but isn`t a big trouble) parking in the street. If the snowfall would be strong, your car will be totally covered

Review 25:Staff breakfast very good close to the pub

Review 26:This isn't a not like, but just to point out that there are a lot of steps to climb up to the house and inside the house, not easy with a lot of luggage. Also house is located at the very top of Leysin, whilst there are a couple of nice restaurants very close by, it is quite a long way from the centre of the village and from the lifts and ski school.

Review 27:Lovely welcome from owners. Nothing too much trouble for them. Very interesting house.

Review 28:House is dated, but the historical nostalgia of it is pretty awesome. Renovations are scheduled but we were assured the historical aspects of the house would remain. Beautiful house all in all and in excellent shape for it's age and the amount of traffic it gets.

Review 29:Very accommodating, kind, and helpful staff. Gave excellent recommendations for local restaurants, etc. View from balcony was phenomenal both at night and during the day and staff was very knowledgeable of the alps, history of the city, and local tourist points. Breakfast was an array of local favorites and a great experience. Even though there were other groups of guests, rooms were well sound proof and I barely heard anything from anyone else.

Review 30:Our room was spacious and the heat supply seemed a bit inadequate in this winter season, maybe because I'm very afraid of cold. Everything else was nice.

Review 31:The location of this amazing B&B is fantastic. You could get the stunning mountain view from your balcony. The room is not modern but stylish. The host n hostess were both very nice ppl n the breakfast was lovely. Btw, love their dog Tasha, cuties dog ever!

Review 32:Location is remotely which hard to find, sound insulation is poor

Review 33:Owner is really nice and hospitality, hotel has a great mountain view and beautiful garden. Overall is good and valuable.

Review 34:We had an amazing time here. Friendly, welcoming and with it's quirky charm, Les Airelles is one great find! Where this B&B is situated, the view of the mountains is incredible, definitely worth getting a room with a balcony and view. Very glad we found this place, we felt like we didn't want to leave and will definitely come back. We highly recommend Les Airelles and think anyone who stays here would feel the same. Thank you to the owners Helayne, Michel and their beautiful dog Tasha, it felt like a home from home and staying here made our weekend! After staying here, I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Leysin. See you next time :)

Review 35:Not enough time spent there.

Review 36:The hosts are so lovely. A homely feel. Pub next door, Amazing views. Looking to book again soon. Train station 5 minute walk.

Review 37:Other guests having conversations in the hallway after 11pm. And using ahair dryer??! Really??? But it was probably an anomaly.

Review 38:Location, view, rooms, breakfast, friendly mgmt, kitchen for guests, public area includes enclosed porch with great views.

Review 39:The only drawback for some people may be that you share the bathroom facilities.

Review 40:This B&B has a beautiful view. The owners go out of their way to make your stay a very pleasant experience. The breakfast is excellent and the whole day there is coffee, tea, fruit and yoghurt available. I would definitely recommend this B&B to my friends.

Review 41:Nothing

Review 42:The B&B is hosted by a Lovely couple that will help you in any way possible to get a great stay. They even washed my pans 3 times to remove some gasoline spots after I had a small accident with a fuel pump and returned some cash by bank-transfer that we forgot in the room after departure. The location where perfect for our 8 days stay. We did see many interesting cities within driving range (Geneva, Evian, Montreux, Lausanne etc.) but the main attraction was a outstanding hiking experience using a ski-lift only a few hundred meters from the B&B that brings you to top of the mountain. The air very fresh in Leysin. And on a hot day visiting the lover altitude cities the B&B is a very delightful retreat.

Review 43:Some in our party didn't like the long steep hairpin drive up to the village - expected though.

Review 44:Location with views down the mountain valley. Friendly hosts. Excellent English. Great pub next door.

Review 45:The view

Review 46:The host is really kind! Good breakfest and really nice view!

Review 47:Shared bathroom.

Review 48:Quirky B&B and owners.

Review 49:Fabulous views from bedroom window. Food available in English pub next door and kitchen for use by guests. Very welcoming and nice breakfast.

Review 50:Lovely views from the terrace, very friendly staff.

Review 51:The staff dog and house

Review 52:Comfortable period furniture and guests kitchen with excellent facilities

Review 53:Friendly Owners

Review 54:Warm and clean rooms, big clean kitchen, playroom for kids and friendly owners.

Review 55:Run down facilities Poor beds Poor bereakfast with no hot option

Review 56:Good location

Review 57:The wifi was hit-and-miss

Review 58:Excellent location and owner was very friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony was amazing!

Review 59:the charming place (you feel like home) the rooms cleanliness the owners really lovely persons the service the breakfast

Review 60:Näkymät Isäntä ja emäntä Kodinomaisuus

Review 61:Good view and helpful and informative hosts.

Review 62:Incredible location in the mountains.

Review 63:Wonderful staff. Amazing views. Inc

Review 64:nothing

Review 65:very good location, nice service. feeling like at home. convenient food shopping nearby.

Review 66:We loved our stay! The room and view were wonderful and this was a great place to do some awesome hiking. If you're looking to get into the wilderness and enjoy beautiful scenery, do not hesitate to come here. Also, the wifi was lightning fast throughout the house.

Review 67:Back again in this wonderful old house! Well situated, super clean, so big, we feel like only guests there! Rooms and beds very comfortable. Fully equipped guest kitchen. Perfectly clear Google directions. Views are still breathtaking! Really a great B&B !

Review 68:The room was not comfortable, the bathroom was not great. You need a device with Longitude/Latitude to locate the home. The facility is old.

Review 69:Beautiful location. Wonderful owner. It was a different experience, in a quirky sense, which is the essence of the travel experience. A college group was also staying at the home and they were both quiet and delightful to talk too.

Review 70:Only problem i could find was the walls were a little thin and we could hear our neighbours, but we were in the cheapest room in the place, so may have been just that room.

Review 71:Great staff, tasty food, quirky and fun, beautiful location, wifi, kitchen loads more...

Review 72:The B&B is 5 mins walk from the Leysin Freyer station. The house is old but with fine elegant decoration. You'll have a warm feel like staying in a family house. The owner, Helen , is super nice. She introduced her house to us speaking very fluent English. Coffee, Tea, orange juice, chocolate, nuts and even Chinese red dates are ready for you to eat all the time. There is a Kitchen with all the utensils. You can cook and enjoy the food there. There is a common living room with a nice decorated sitting area. You can enjoy seeing the fabulous mountain view. Game room for kids is unexpected in a B&B and the owner runs the house really with heart. My room is very big, neat and in good order. There's a washing basin inside the bedroom for washing face and brushing teeth. The WC and bath room are outside the room. Stepping on the wooden floor will create sound as it would be in an old house and you can hear the sound from next door also! I thank you so much for Ms Helen's hospitality as she gave my son pills and ice pack when he's got a fever unfortunately!! A relax and enjoyable stay in this B&B and highly recommended to others as it is clean, beautifully decorated and with unforgettable mountain view!

Review 73:Warm and friendly atmosphere. Clean and toasty rooms. Playroom for the children and a great kitchen to cook your own food. Les Airelles is home away from home.

Review 74:The staff were incredible and very accommodating. The view was spectacular, couldn't have a better location. The house was cozy and homey. The village was small and not to touristy. Had an amazing experience here and would gladly come back!

Review 75:Showers and toilets not available in rooms.

Review 76:Warm welcome from host. Lovely historical 100 yr-old home! Delicious breakfast. Close to walking trails and cable cars. Amazing views of the mountains! ! Rooms available with porch looking out at mountains.

Review 77:an amazing view from our balcony, a very cozy place, the hotel management is extremely friendly and helpful, nice breakfast buffet, excellent value for money

Review 78:Old house, well kept with lots of charm. Very good breakfast in a very nice dining room or better yet in a veranda facing Alps. Parking in a public space, reserved for the B&B, just in front of the house.

Review 79:Very comfortable and pleasant place to stay in a quiet but convenient location. Very short walk to Feydey Station and restaurants. Great for people who are looking for comfort, not luxury. Owners are extremely warm and welcoming. See you again soon Les Airelles!

Review 80:1) Wifi - No wifi access for the 3+ days we were there - absolutely none. We were told that there was a problem with the current router and they are expecting a new one (which was getting delayed). Anyway this was a big issue for us. We didn't find the B&B owners particularly helpful on this apart from suggesting some other places where we could access wifi. Anyway we went to the tourist information office down the road and they had free wifi for everyone. That actually helped us a lot.3) Cleanliness - We didn't find the interiors very clean and inviting - old sheets, old towels and generally a dull atmosphere. 4) Bathroom/toilet - There is only one bathroom + toilet (separate) for one floor, i.e about 5 rooms. This was not mentioned when we booked the rooms else we wouldn't have considered it. Since we were staying there during the low season it was fine. But we are not sure how people manage with that during high season. Attached bathroom/toilets are a standard feature of B&B rooms in the UK and it is usually in hostels that you have shared bathrooms. Maybe in Switzerland this is a common feature in a B&B. Anyway we found that very unusual. Also the bathroom was pretty poor - small shower cubicle (if one can call that a cubicle) and dimly lit. Toilet was alright.

Review 81:1) View from the room2) Leysin is a ski destination and we went during the summer so there were only a few guests staying there. Hence we got 2 rooms with a connected balcony that had fabulous views, even though we had asked for one room balcony and one without.

Review 82:It was claustrophobic with stuff everywhere, old and unkempt house and grounds, no coffee machine, no watching machine and no Internet. It had all broken. The self catering kitchen was grubby and the breakfast was days old and rehached. To top this off it was unseasonally cold,no fault of theirs, but the heating was off. There were rooms unmade and we were put in a tiny double room as they have no regular staff. We ended up moving our linen into another room and no one was there to care. The Michel & Helayne offered for us to drop a day off our 3 day stay and then Helayne said we could have the room for the second night for 50 CHF due to the fact that I couldn't find them anywhere to discus leaving after day 1. I have lived and worked in chalets in this village and am so angry that I could have spent a tiny bit more on 100 times better accomodation. I worked out that it should have cost me 150 CHF, staying one night with the second at half board as opposed to the 300 I paid to booking.com. Can you help me please?

Review 83:We arrived and were warmly welcomed and promptly upgraded to a much larger and with one large bed and a balcony (room 7) just for being on our honeymoon. (No other guest house or hostel we stayed in offered a free upgrade!) Les Airelles feels like a home, loved, one of a kind and quirkily (endearingly) decorated. Understandably, we shared a bathroom (toilet & sink) with the floor we stayed on and a shower room (no toilet) as well. Linens are mismatched, decor is hand chosen and also much less "obviously Ikea" than any hostel we stayed in. Breakfast was thoughtful and well presented. We watched a movie in one of the living rooms and felt very comfortable enjoying the common areas.

Review 84:The only downside was that our room shared thin walls, and the balcony with the adjacent room.

Review 85:Lovely grand house converted into accomm- unbelievable views of the alps on clear days! Plentiful b-fast, nothing hot but you can toast waffles and have excellent espresso coffee all day. there's also a microwave to use and a whole Kitchen for guests. We stayed on the very top floor in a cosy quaint room with awesome balcony, the room had a sink which was very handy and on the day it snowed the place was toasty warm with the heater on. Although we stayed in a quiet period we enjoyed relaxing here in this great location among the mountains. Enjoyed dinner recommendation at Davindas.

Review 86:Nothing.

Review 87:The greeting, the staff, the food and breakfast and 24/7 tea-coffee-fruit availability, and also the very nice interior design, etc. Good place!

Review 88:- Don't expect a luxury place, the house might have been build for a russian princess but it has seen its best days.- Several layers of carpet on top of each other combined with a dog are not for the allergic.

Review 89:- Nice veranda with a magnificent view available for breakfast and during the day.- Comfy atmosphere. - Tee and fruits available for free at any time. - Beautiful location above the town, just next to a train station. - Nice family walks and mountain hikes in direct proximity.
