Reviews for Regency Suites Hotel
Review 1:The bathroom is so small compare to the rest of the room, but that is not the biggest disappointment. The room makes me feel like I have no private at all. Soundproof has terrible quality here. I could easily hear people walking, talking, and laughing, stepping heavily somewhere (even the sound of somebody angrily arguing). For someone who need extra quite to sleep like me, staying at Regency becomes much more difficult.
Review 2:The location is great. Walking distance to CORE shopping centre, Eau Claire, Princess Island, and Chinatown. The price is ok, compare to other places in Calgary. Good for long term stay and people who like to hang out with next door neighbors.
Review 3:Shower wasn't great. The water temperature was inconsistent for the whole shower.
Review 4:The space and the suite were great. We were able to walk every where we needed.
Review 5:The curtains are for decoration apparently. They don't close. Every half hour there would be a loud noise in our room that sounded like pushing heavy furniture across the floor? Sounded like it was in the walls. It was strange. Oh and they charge you extra for parking.
Review 6:The room was nice
Review 7:We lost a lot of sleep, as there were people yelling and making lots of noise between 3 a.m. and 6a.m. (right outside our room). They were also staying at the Hotel. We had to get up at 6 a.m. and drive for 6 hours that day, so our sleep was valued.
Review 8:I indicated not cleaned up and not change towels just because I agreed with their policy for environmental responsibility. However house keeping changed towels. They might did it kindly.
Review 9:all receptionist are friendly and very polite. Room is quiet and big. Good location. I will come back soon.
Review 10:Bathroom needed updating. Street noise was brutal so I let the portable a/c run all night to drown out the sirens and street sweepers. Not the fault of the hotel. Bed was just ok.
Review 11:Room was acceptable.
Review 12:All the staff was very kind, friendly and very helpful, especially Roy and Dante! They helped us out with every request we had! The room was clean. It was very convenient that they had a washer and dryer near the lobby. Enjoyed our stay!
Review 13:it's like a condotel type of hotel.you can cook everytime you want.that made us more comfortable staying there.for sure,we'll gonna go back again.
Review 14:The outside and the reception areas were so shabby we were a little worried about what the apartment/suite would be like.
Review 15:The apartment/suite was quite a surprise considering the outside and communal space.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:This hotel is exceptional the accomadation and facilities in the rooms were first class. We had a two bedrooms suite which provided our family with spacious accomadation. The hotel benefits from a recent refurbishment with provides a luxurious feel to the decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is within a five minute walk from the city centre. We generally stay in five star accomadation and our experience at this hotel matched this rating. Overall this was a very positive experience and we would definitely return.
Review 18:The apartment suffered from traffic noise until the early hours being on a busy route. The staff were helpful in moving us to the 12th floor but unfortunately the noise was still audible which didn't help after a long flight.
Review 19:Our 2-bedroom apartment was spacious, in very excellent condition and clean. Good location for visiting downtown attractions and restaurants.
Review 20:Shame they charged for parking, which was on their own land.
Review 21:Room was lovely and big and had a fridge which was unexpected. Large double bed but the bathroom was rather small. Good location to explore Calgary.
Review 22:nothing comes to mind
Review 23:Everything was clean, people were friendly and helpful. One bedroom suite was very nice. Good location: close to river and "touristy" destinations and all at a very good price.
Review 24:Bathroom functional but small. Two bedrooms very comfortable but pull out couch could be better.
Review 25:Quite roomy with good kitchen facilities and a good location. Close to rail link and dining. Nice to have a TV in every room as well as free WiFi.
Review 26:One small elevator to serve 12 floors. They are working on this. No breakfast. Apparently they are working on this too. It's less of a problem since these are suites, with kitchens.
Review 27:Very good view. Convenient to the Stampede without being in a location that was too busy. Easy access to the light rail lines.
Review 28:A 2-bedroom suite for 4 people with a very small bathroom, with integrated toilet, is not a great luxury... but in general the suite was more than spacious enough.
Review 29:Only one elevator worked No continental breakfast No swimming pool Not enough bathroom amenities ex: no shower cap, make up wipes
Review 30:Knowledgeable & friendly staff Nice & clean room The front lady gave us umbrellas!!! That was great!!! Close to the LRT
Review 31:No kettle just coffee machine
Review 32:Helpful staff Large comfortable bed Quiet aircon Easy walking distance to the tram station Very close to airport shuttle bus stop Great facilities in the room Laundry on ground floor
Review 33:Check in and check out process was not good. They lost our reservation. When we checked out, it took over 45 minutes and the attendant was not trained on how to process a credit card properly. She was also very rude. The hotel is under renovations so some parts were unusable.
Review 34:The suites are great value for your money. They are large, modern, and comfortable with a full size kitchen. The location is central and close to many amenities.
Review 35:The bed was terrible. We all woke up with sore backs. The elevator was slow and the lobby and exterior could use some updating but they are working on it and thats really not a big deal to me.
Review 36:Nice room. Loved having our own kitchen and living room. Nice location. Good price for what you get.
Review 37:The staff was rude. I woke up around 6:30 am on the sound of yelling and banging. of construction workers dragging chains on the stairwell . When I raised the issue that I could not sleep the reception said that they did not have control on the contractor starting that early and that if I don’t like it then I can leave. Rude and insulting
Review 38:One elevator under repair during our visit. Housecleaning took the dirty towels and did not replace them unless all the towels were placed to be replaced.
Review 39:Convenient location in downtown area; Having a full kitchen was an asset.
Review 40:The staff accommodated our early check-in, which was appreciated after an overnight flight. The upgraded suites are spacious and comfortable. Renovations continue and will upgrade the appearance and functionality of the building.
Review 41:The climate control didn't seem to work, unless it was something we were unfamiliar with, the temperature on the system was a 10 degrees C and the room was warm throughout the night. Fortunately they also have another ac system so we turned that on cooling for the remainder of the stay and this worked a treat.
Review 42:We didn't stay in the room for long periods as we were out and about. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows, perfect for a good nights sleep. Great location.
Review 43:We were travelling across Canada and if we did it again would skip Calgary. Place felt a bit soul-less. Once renovation completed the lobby and other hotel areas should look fresher as they currently look tired
Review 44:renovated suite was of good quality. Good location in relation to getting around calgary
Review 45:Parking! Even though I had a parking pass I came back late to a parking lot with no spaces left. I had to pay for parking around the block.
Review 46:To be honest didn't know what to expect. Older curb appeal... But when we got to our room I was very impressed! Felt like I was at home in an apartment style room.
Review 47:The one staff member treated us horribly after we told her we wanted to check in a day early. $230 for an extra night, (it was already 930pm/we paid that much for the whole weekend). We left and stayed somewhere else. And $15/day parking was a little much.
Review 48:I really enjoyed the kitchen, spacious room, comfy bed. Would definitely stay again.
Review 49:The lobby elevators and common areas are prehistoric. That said they are being updated. I found that if you worked on the corner rooms they were quite stuffy and warm.
Review 50:The hotel is well located downtown and considering it's location is decently priced. The rooms are relatively newly renovated and the front desk people are generally helpful
Review 51:No black out curtains in the bedroom, very bright at night time which for me is a real pain as I need a dark room. Wifi is terrible. Hot water can be hit and miss, I had 2 showers go cold on me in 2 days.
Review 52:Location is good, 1 bedroom apartment is spacious and clean.
Review 53:Noisy at night with someone knocking at 2 am in the morning on the neighboring room as he was trying to break in. noises from the top floor during the night.
Review 54:Nothing really in particular.
Review 55:The elevators were old and slow and one broke down
Review 56:The suites were modern, well appointed and spacious. The staff do a great job cleaning and preparing. Several restaurants and aconvenience store close by.
Review 57:No complimentary breakfast, staff did not tell you where anything was located in the hotel, I still don't know if there was some where to eat on site or not, don't get me wrong the staff was very friendly just not very informative.. The one thing that botherd me the most is you had to pay an extra fifteen dollars for parking. This should be a perk for spending over 200 dollars a night. And I was not told of this extra cost at any time, not until check in.
Review 58:Was large vey comfortable, clean great value for your money.
Review 59:They gave us a suite beside suite that had a barking dog. They switched us to another suite, and woke up twice with noisy people banging at door late night 1-2 pm. there is a fee for outdoor parking, We had to remove the snow. Underground would have been good.
Review 60:The price was fair for the size of the suite and the beds were comfortable.
Review 61:In the morning the front desk person asked if we were watching pornography..(as a joke) my wife did not find it too amusing... I found it hilarious...
Review 62:Front staff was great at night!
Review 63:Poor neighborhood, smell from cooking in the room next-door , no breakfast at all, poor amenities, noisy fridge kept me awake all night. Sloppy housekeeping.
Review 64:-small elevators -very small bathrooms -fridge was kinda loud
Review 65:-quick and friendly check in/out -great location for my needs -enjoyed king size bed -room was nice and clean
Review 66:This hotel was not cheap and it lacked the basic necessities. There were no hangers in the closet. When i told the staff they said they would speak to management! No coffee although there was a coffee maker and stale used coffee in the machine from a prior guest. i needed to leave at 7am for a meeting. They told me to come downstairs to get coffee as they were the only person on staff! the hot water in shower did not heat up. The air conditioning did not get into the bedroom - no vent. Needless to say it was the most expensive price to pay for no sleep, no coffee and no hot water.
Review 67:Entrance area looks a little tired but I understand it's due for a revamp.
Review 68:Apartment was clean, of good size, had good facilities (e.g. kitchen, WiFi, furniture, shower). Staff were friendly and helpful. Gym looked quite good Cheap compared to the hotel hosting the conference I was attending, which had much smaller rooms.
Review 69:the hot water never really got hot and the pressure was poor i was told by the front i had to wait for the hot water because i was on the 11th flr ?,first thing i did upon entering was turn on the tv the remote did not work,a new one was delivered it worked for tha eve.next day it didnt tried 2 more remotes no tv watching for me.only 1 coffee pac no refills left next day.
Review 70:The room was good comfortable, clean, good amenites
Review 71:It was noisy due to a construction site opposite - but that couldn't be helped. Also, the wi-fi would drop out quite frequently.
Review 72:Location, facilities, price, cleanliness, and space of suite.
Review 73:Window-based A/C only in main room (not bedroom) [i.e., hot if >20C/70F] Still need to update Lobby and public spaces
Review 74:Nice remodel in the room Great kitchen facility Centrally located
Review 75:Paying for parking on-site sucks and shouldn't be required for paying guests.
Review 76:We walked to Eau Claire market for dinner and ate it in Prince's Island Park and then went for an evening walk with the dog. We enjoyed a relaxing evening in the hotel room.
Review 77:The rooms . . . v comfortable; decor very pleasing; v good quality linen & towels; bathroom well appointed; kitchen appliances etc excellent. Look forward to entrance foyer, gardens etc renovation.
Review 78:The room did not have blackout curtains (only sheer curtains) and the bright lights from the main street shone into the room at night. It was not an option to turn away from the window as the closet facing the window is mirrored! which made it difficult to get a good night sleep.
Review 79:The room had a full size kitchen and the staff was very friendly.
Review 80:We thought price was high for what we got. However, the room with kitchen included was generous. High price may have been due to fact that Calgary Stampede was on when we stayed.
Review 81:Location was pretty good, no breakfast available was a disappointment as we had expected it from our travel agent. However, there were some cafes close by and they were good value.
Review 82:Great value, it was clean and spacious room with a full kitchen. We've stayed here 3+ times and we will definitely be back.
Review 83:There was a lack of facilities. Ex: breakfast
