Reviews for Park Hotel Stara Zagora

Review 1:too dark in the room if you want to work on documents or read - actually no desk lamp. Breakfast buffet: cold scrambled eggs and bacon, even the system for heating meal was installed, but not activated

Review 2:nice furniture and bathroom

Review 3:It would be nice to have a desk with office chair and more outlets.

Review 4:Great room. It was large and clean. Bathroom had a shower and bathtub. Very clean.

Review 5:I expected the breakfast to be a bit better for a 5 star hotel, the eggs were not good, the salami very cheap, the swimming pool should have been bigger for a hotel like that, there were so many children the swimming was impossible.

Review 6:It`s rooms clean, the staff is friendly, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.Happy with my stay there.

Review 7:Nothing! Everything was perfect

Review 8:Nice big room, well furnished, smiley personnel, nice heated pool and spa area, fantastic position near a small lake! I recommend it 100%

Review 9:Popular hotel for weddings and our stay included a Saturday night. A wedding in Bulgaria is a very noisy occasion (happy celebrations, I get it) Music and noise did not stop until 4.00am. We paid for a one bedroom apartment which was unfortunately right next to the wedding party room. Would not stay here again on a Saturday night.

Review 10:Hotel is on outskirts of town on a little lake. Large open spaces with peaceful atmosphere. Hotel building is impressive and the rooms are modern and clean. The staff were especially polite and helpful throughout our stay.

Review 11:There was a kettle in the Suite but no coffee, tea, milk, sugar or cups to use. No room service menu in the room or anything in the folder about ordering room service apart from a phone number.

Review 12:Breakfast was good. Staff were nice enough, the girl on reception when we arrived was a bit off but maybe she was having a bad day! Everyone else was very helpful. The free use of swimming pool and Jacuzzi was appreciated. Decoration of rooms is over the top but in a fun way! Elton John would love it ;o)

Review 13:their gym was the biggest minus - one multifunction tower, running belt and a crosstrainer, is located in the spa area. This needs a separate room as the air is very humid from the pool. Dunbells would be usefull a yoga ball etc.

Review 14:very friendly staff great location beautiful hotel very comfortable

Review 15:Nothing much

Review 16:The view of the lake from my bedroom was beautiful. The staff were friendly and happy to assist if there were any problems. I would be happy to stay at the hotel whenever I was in Stara Zagora

Review 17:Entrance to hotel not well signposted needs sign for hotel to be much more visible Breakfast choice needs to be improved

Review 18:Staff are very well trained Excellent meal overlooking lake

Review 19:Breakfast was terrible. Tea and coffee out of a horrible machine, no breakfast tea available in sachets or in a pot. Orange juice out of a bag, no fresh option. Limited bread choice, no real hot option (other than some dodgy looking sausages and what looked like a cross between a scrambled and a fried egg - I could not tell which). The final straw came when I poured milk into my machine tea and it immediately curdled. Not good enough for a 5 star restaurant.

Review 20:Lovely rooms, great a/c which was needed in the 38 degrees heat. Fabulous lakeside restaurant with very good food and very cheap prices.

Review 21:Not much. Charging for using the sauna and steam room which I think lets the 5 star rating down even though it was a small fee. also breakfast was a bit disappointing with packaged bread and limited choice but what was on offer was good .

Review 22:the whole hotel from staff service and attention too the décor and comfort with good food in the restaurants lovely views this is a lovely hotel one that we would recommend and return to. This was a one night stay with our family with us they also thought the hotel was lovely and very good value .

Review 23:No cups for coffee in out room, but was able to go down to reception and was given two nice cups and will not stop me from returning for a subsequent visit.

Review 24:We loved the hotel's layout on a lake which was great for a ten minute walk around nature. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and had plenty bathroom amenities. The breakfast buffet was delicious, plentiful and had so many choices of hot and cold foods and the price was included in our room rate. We had great massages in the wellness area, swam around the indoor pool, sat in the sauna and enjoyed dinner on site outside next to the lake. We had a grand time over all and especially appreciated the free tickets to the museum in the city's center. What a nice treat and the gentleman who checked us in was very nice. This one's a keeper Offering a reasonable rate for upscale service in a lovely location. If you're in the area, do plan to stay over, your significant other will be glad you did if she's the romantic type.

Review 25:Location. No wifi, told no password needed but obviously this was not the case. TV very complicated to operate and although a profusion of Italian French and German TV no cnn or bbc world. Gap between desk and bed too narrow and could not place a chair there and use it as a desk. Siting of TV on wall too high and very difficult to look at.

Review 26:Clean. Staff helpful.

Review 27:There is nothing that we did not like.

Review 28:Excellent in all aspects. We travel a lot and I can assure you, this place is worth a trip to or even a detour. From service to cleanliness to the size of the rooms this place is a 5 star Luxury hotel.

Review 29:Excellent!

Review 30:Large and quiet room. Located on a small, but nice, lake

Review 31:Perfect location for visiting the tombs at Kazanlak. Lovely room and very friendly staff

Review 32:Superb decor attentive staff I want the tiles in reception in my house! Overall a truly great stay

Review 33:We wanted an outside swimming pool.

Review 34:Everything was nice.

Review 35:The breakfast was poor

Review 36:Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, spacious room and bath room.

Review 37:Everything was excellent.

Review 38:Strong parfume smell on corridors. It's over used by hotel.

Review 39:Location by the nature, bathroom

Review 40:room decoration was too classic for my taste

Review 41:location, size of room

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:Every things was great

Review 44:The piped music in the corridors could be quieter.

Review 45:Friendly staff, the swimming pool and the sauna.

Review 46:The staff was very helpful and polite. Very good value for money.

Review 47:None

Review 48:Beautiful place, surrounded by mountains

Review 49:When I got there, I found a bit arrogant the tone of voice of the guy who told me that I should not let my car in front of the hotel-(it was raining cats and dogs and I just needed to get the luggage in the hotel and then park the car. In Sofia, for a 4 star hotel,(Best Western Bristol) there is someone who parks the car for you. An idea that should be copied by more hotels.

Review 50:It was a nice cosy hotel. Staff very kind and helpful in providing useful information for a traveller.Good location, next to a lake, and nice to walk in the mornings. Very good food(they should change the tomatoes supplier, as I have eaten better Shopska salads elsewhere-Sofia and other cities).Should I come for business again, I would choose it again. A bit difficult to find, if you put the address on GPS, but you will be helped to get there, if you call them.

Review 51:the suites are located closely to the hotel restaurant which is noisy.

Review 52:amazing beds and bed linen. great calm place. spent only 1 night so can't really judge the amenities.

Review 53:Great location on water, comfortable big beds, clean and new, very friendly staff... Although we didn´t get to try the breakfast, the dinner at the Restaurant was very good and the fish was very fresh and deliciously prepared

Review 54:Breakfast was poor with little choice and the evening meal was also poor. The sea bass was not cooked through & still red in the middle. Definitely not 5* standard.

Review 55:I raised my concerns with staff at the hotel. An arrangement was made for me to speak by telephone with the manager. This proved impossible due to language problems. The gentleman in the reception area Stoan, did speak some English and made some small allowance in the final account for the problems we had with the room etc. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and polite and I am sure in time the hotel will deal with the teething problems it clearly has presently. I could not however, recommend staying here at the prices being charged. If the prices were reduced to reflect the matters that need resolving then I am sure the hotel would attract more customers and could over time increase prices to reflect the investment that has wbeen made in the fabric of the building. One very positive thing-the hotel is next to the Zagorka brewery. Brewery trips at 4 lev pp are well worth the trip!

Review 56:This hotel has been given 5*s. In my opinion it is not yet deserving of this rating and the prices for the rooms are very expensive and over inflated. The rooms are very plush but there was no hot water in the bathroom the evening we arrived. The VIP suite was marketed as having a kitchen corner which I took to mean a sink and tea and coffee facilities. These were not available. Sockets in the room were not all wired and working and cupboards contained builders equipment. The hotel is marketed as being adjacent to the beautiful Zagprka lake. We walked around the lake and whilst some parts are indeed attractive the section adjacent to the hotel outside restaurant is dirty with plastic bottles and debris floating on the water. For a hotel of this size and rating the indoor pool is remarkably small. Having stayed in the Radisson in Sofia and the Kempinski in Bansko on this trip (both excellent) we were very disappointed with the standard of the breakfast. This was served in a room with no windows, the hot food selection was poor and was on open plates and cold and the cold selection was very mediocre. The toaster did not work. The breakfast would have to improve in my view to keep any repeat business and to avoid the risk of complaints. We did eat in the outside restaurant in the evening of the night we booked in. The menu is only in Bulgarian which limits the ability to choose food easily! Fortunately one of the waiters did speak some English and was very helpful. The food was ok- cold when it arrived although the puddings were good.

Review 57:Everything Ideal Place for Relax

Review 58:The quality of the food during dinner, the breakfast, the furniture (old style)

Review 59:Nice location, spacious rooms, clean

Review 60:amazing large hotel room with all you need.

Review 61:world class!
