Reviews for Résidence Castel Club Leysin Parc
Review 1:It's a great choice if you want to get away from the usual commercial tourist places and experience the 'village life' (for the lack of a better word) in Switzerland. The rooms have a lovely view. Be sure to book one with a balcony. The lady at the reception was extremely helpful in planning our itinerary for our stay in Switzerland.
Review 2:We did not have enough blankets even though we asked for it. The place is closed on the weekend and you have to come in and out from a rear entrance. The WIFI cost money, but not working in the rooms
Review 3:obsolete apartments and facilities which need urgent refurbish. Cleanliness is low (we stay 3 nights and no housemaid enter our room), lingerie and towels look old and spent. Un-polite staff (the receptionist hang up the phone without prior notice while i was speaking).
Review 4:huge domain with nice view over Alpes, fully equipped for self -catering, washing machine facilities with extra-payment, well-organised business, value for money comparing with other accommodations in Switzerland.
Review 5:The road from the lake to the village is a bit steep with a lot of turns. This is not a disadvantage really, just something to keep in mind when you plan your trip.
Review 6:It has the classic fairy tale Swiss mountain view. The rooms are very comfortable and well styled. Excellent value for money.
Review 7:A construtction/road work very near the balcony so I coulnd't leave the window open
Review 8:The staff was amazing, the TV and the kitchen facilities were really good. Discrete personal.
Review 9:I don't like the two single bed in the bedroom. I asked for a double bed and they refused me. Saying that all their rooms have single beds pushed together
Review 10:The apt was very big with a big balcony over looking the alps. Beautiful view.
Review 11:it is very spacious. Very clean and comfortable. Good view, good location. We recommend this place and we will definitely stay there again when we go back to Leysin.
Review 12:To confirm that trust is a problem : they had two signs advertised inthe elevator about selling coffee capsules for chf 65 to chf 70 with adeal that if you buy 10 pces you get one free I wnt to the reception tobuy 10 they charged me chf 10 and when I claimed the free one they saidno deal ! I went to the room to get my iPhone to take a picture of thesign and in seconds the signs were removed ! it is only at the check outtime that I got chf 3 back when I brought it up !!!! so . it isdifficult to trust this place witn a print of credit card they wouldfind their own way to put extra charges !!! Thai is my opinion based onmy experience of a traveler
Review 13:The site , the country views , the clean breathing air
Review 14:Booked a double - had too thin single beds pushed together. My hubby ended up in the morning stuck in the crack between the 2 beds. They should not advertise double room if they do not give you a double bed or at least a double mattress if 2 singles beds are pushed together
Review 15:Good location Fantastic balcony view Nice and peaceful Good kitchen facilities
Review 16:Apartment is very smaller than we thought , moreover I have lost somemoney when I canceled my booking and re booked for different date. Extracharges paid for city tax & WiFi which is not good.
Review 17:Just worth for money, good balcony view.
Review 18:It wasn't clean, if you don't clean yourself they charge you, check out is at 10 am, they charge you for everything even if you leave the beds un done.
Review 19:The location wasn't too bad and the room was spacy enough for a couple
Review 20:The stay was not bad, but a little less than expected. We were only staying one night - so didn't make a big issue. I would have just expected these basics to be provided or considered without asking. Here are a few things to improve upon next time: -We rented a large family suite, but it only came with two bath towels and no shower soap to be found. -Parking was confusing as the stall numbers did not match the room number. -Master bed was OK - a little too firm for my taste. -Top bunk bed only had a foot of clearance to the ceiling. had to be a contortionist to get in.
Review 21:The location was OK at the bottom of the village. The room was clean and check in was relatively easy.
Review 22:Bed settee was broken in the corner so the bed sloped to one end.
Review 23:Excellent view from the balcony and a very spacious apartment with an upstairs bedroom and bathroom that catered for our children perfectly. Undercover parking was a bonus. It was a holiday weekend so no staff available on site although very helpful over phone. All very lovely & convenient and would definitely stay here again.
Review 24:All floors made out of tiles, not even one little carpet. We had no ideea, so we got sick... Socks are not enough, you need to bring warm sleepers.
Review 25:Big apartament, quiet.
Review 26:Bad situation if you lose your key. I lost mine. It fell in the snow, at night, couldn't find it. I had to replace the key and the new cylinder for the new door key and the service. The bill for only this? Over 400 CHF. My 5 days stay was 540 CHF! What a nightmare! Accidents happen, but they don't seem to understand this. They only give you 1 key.
Review 27:Excellent view
Review 28:Clean, comfortable and much more spacious than a hotel room. We love having the small kitchen, balcony, access to laundry and 2 minutes to the cog. Beautiful Swiss mountain views!
Review 29:No complaints really - Switzerland will never be cheap, but the quality you get in return is always worth it.
Review 30:Peaceful location in a traditional feeling property (not all in Leysin are !). Great views and the appartment was spacious and well appointed. Close to the railway station. Reception and cleaning staff friendly and very helpful.
Review 31:We head booked for 3 beds but in fact one was twins together but no ability to separate. this needs to be clearer on site. Host was able to give us a larger room but not at same rate.
Review 32:The views from our room were spectacular. The fondue dinner at La Formagerie fantastic.
Review 33:The internet is not free to use. You have to pay 5 CHF for using the internet, although it is not much, still worth mentioning...
Review 34:All was great, nice view!
Review 35:There were very few guests, so why would you want to put them all together in one corner. Hardly slept because of the upstairs neighbors, the walking, talking en sound of moving chairs. And we came on a Saturday, right before the reception area closed. Reception also closed on Sunday, so no Wifi. They should have offered it immediately. Read in the info book that I could ask for it. Also too far from ski lifts.
Review 36:Room Beds Fully equiped Great coffee Walking distance from downtown Leysin
Review 37:Beds were super hard. This is our 2nd visit here, the place is getting abit tired. We had an apartment with a loft bedroom, the ensuite bathroom had the worst shower head ever .. It would fall off very easily and the curtain was not long enough to stop the water from flooding the floor, the water pressure was good though. Like most places in EU, A lot of Leysin shops will close from midday until 2pm.
Review 38:Leysin is a pretty place to visit. Visit the bakery nearby (early though) for some great pastries and bread rolls. Eating at The Top Pub, is recommended .. They are closed on Mondays.
Review 39:- absolutely not suitable for four people unless they are parents with really small children or two couples: there were just three duvets in the apartment and lack of second bedroom can be a problem when it's four people - we haven't got answer for question that we wrote in booking form
Review 40:mountain view- worth a bit bigger price, really nice apartment
Review 41:Road up to the village might be a bit difficult for drivers who don't have any experience in driving in the mountains.
Review 42:Spacious studio, good covered balcony with beautiful view.
Review 43:Quite expensive. Weak lighting. Also, a failed bulb wasn't replaced during our stay, although admittedly we only stayed 3 days, including a Sunday.
Review 44:Lots of living space. Good quality. Underground garage for parking. Good walking area.
Review 45:No baby cot although we had notified them via booking.com and also verified that they received the request via email. Found a dead spider under my blanket. Instructions that were left for us were in German (despite having been in contact with them in English earlier) and, consequently, we were not able to find the right place to park our car.
Review 46:The location (Leysin) Good price Decent apartment
Review 47:Nothing, except the bad weather - could not see the nice landscape from the balcony.
Review 48:Covered parking, perfectly equipped kitchen, laundry in the basement. AND ESPECIALLY Nespresso coffee maker in the apartment!
Review 49:The property might consider providing free-WIFI.
Review 50:The view from the balcony is amazing. The apartment is very spacious with all the facilities for a holiday stay. Friendly staff.
Review 51:It's an apartment which provides many Facilities.
Review 52:everything is great
Review 53:Location & cleanliness were superb! On the small side but as expected & did what it said on the tin!
Review 54:We loved everything
Review 55:Location, Facility, Cleanliness
Review 56:Paid With Fi :(
Review 57:Great place to stay n value for money...
Review 58:Room wasn't cleaned even once during our six days stay!
Review 59:Beautiful location.. Friendly staff
Review 60:Poor lighting in the night time and top floor ceiling is low
Review 61:Everything else such as the quality of the home and the size
Review 62:very poor wifi signal on 3rd floor
Review 63:The apartment was spacious with good self catering facilities; a short walk into Leysin.
Review 64:no wifi, no curtains
Review 65:cleaniness, nice facilities and nice environment.
Review 66:Good location with beautiful views. Helpful staff. I didn't pay much for this although I expect this is a discounted rate for the Summer.
Review 67:The staff was very friendly and the view from the apartment was great.
Review 68:Given a corner unit on level 3. Has good views of meadows and the distant mountains. Good walks nearby.
Review 69:a little bit old
Review 70:big room
Review 71:Third time to stay and new staff very rude, a little dated in the rooms
Review 72:Good location
Review 73:Appartment is quite large kitchen facilities Porch facing monutains view Village has supermarket, mini golf, bakery
Review 74:Road to club is risky
Review 75:Every thing Specious Big
Review 76:Non applicable.
Review 77:The view at room 15 and probably 24 are outstanding. We would like to return next year. The personal is wonderful as well.
Review 78:Nothing
Review 79:The location in Leysin, the style of the apartment and the friendliness & helpfulness of the staff. Also undercover parking and excellent directions.
Review 80:staff were not helpful at all and were rude. a little too far down in Leysin village for an accomodation facility.
Review 81:appartment was comfortable for a family of 7. well located carpark and good safety.
Review 82:Comfortable and very clean apartment. Beautiful view. Very close to Village Station. Easy walk to grocery store and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Make sure to plan around office hours as staff is not on property all day.
Review 83:Perfect view from the bakcony, relatively big room and under roof parking. Room is fully equiped including oven, dishwasher and expresso coffee mashine, nice stuff
Review 84:The apartment was quiet and ideal for a family with young children. The courtesy bus to the ski lifts was excellent. The location was good with beautiful views.
Review 85:The beds were really uncomfortable.
Review 86:We love the location. It had spectacular views from our Balcony. It was clean, dog friendly and had covered garage. Within walking distance you had restaurants, bakery and nice trails to walk. They had a bus stop to take you to the lift stations.
Review 87:more information could have been provided in advance as to how to get there from the tram train, and which stop to get off.
Review 88:Free courtesy bus to the ski lift
Review 89:Front desk has limited hours so it's necessary to plan around this. However, they are very pleasant and helpful when present.
Review 90:Very comfortable and clean. 5-10 minute walk to restaurants and grocery store. Located just below Leysin's first train stop. A bit further from the slopes but nice and quiet. We'll be staying here for the 3rd time in February.
Review 91:The only possible negative would be the location in relation to ski slopes, the hotel is at the bottom of the villag , but the lifts are at the top. There is a Navette in season, but it's still a bit of a walk to the pick up/drop off point - but it is a flat walk, I'd say this negative is offset by all the positives this place and it's staff have to offer.
Review 92:We visited out of season so probably got a far bigger apartment than normal, but it was fabulous, everything you could possibly need and more! We forgot our phone charger, no problem reception loaned us one. We decided to use the log fire on the second night but needed a little more wood, no problem we were given more and shown where we could help ourselves. The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend this accommodation and will visit again.
Review 93:we love it so much there we extended our stay. Hence the double review. We've been reading the other reviews. This is an apartment.. not a hotel. You don't get it cleaned every day. You wash your own towels if want them changed. The staff are hands off.. we like that. It was like having our own place there. Also this is an alpine village. In the mountains. It's hilly. If you can't walk there are many taxis' buses etc. If you want beautiful fresh air, gorgeous views and healthy walks this is for you. The supermarket takes about 5.10 minutes to walk to. It is uphill but again you can get a taxi there if you desire. This is our favourite place ever and we are not super fit power walkers. We're just ordinary.
Review 94:wifi was touch and go but it did work most of the time
Review 95:beautiful room, front facing balcony with fantastic views. Well equipped kitchen with every imaginable implement including a fondue set. Lovely beds. Close to a fab cake/bread shop and supermarket. cosy beds, washing machine in the basement. Love it there
Review 96:No foods available in the hotel. meant fir s longer stay? then, too expensive...not even a brekfast included. Only a Nescafé machine...besides, could not check in till 2 pm so missed my lunch in the restaurants nearby.
Review 97:Good environment. Near the cable car station although I needed a taxi to get back to the station due to the steep up hills. Lady manager was capable, but other stuff could not even handle English...well, unusual in Suisse.
Review 98:The reception working hours, most of the time I didn't find them because I used to spend all daytime outside making trips.they claim they open at 8am and close at 7pm, I once went to them at 9am and they were not there. The frontal view of my room was not good it was of an unrepaired tennis court, but the side viw was very good, it was the alps. There was no air refreshner for the bathroom. The abat-jour didn't work. The way up to leysin-village train station was short but exhausting to me. (Not to my kids or my husband) I didn't find a supermarket nearby, only an expensive bakery.
Review 99:The view. The room furniture. The kitchen equipments. The cleanliness. The balcony. The sofa which turns into a large comfortable bed for kids. The dining table.
Review 100:They just clean the room once a week. The bar open just some hours a day and there is nothing to eat. Close to train station but not suitable for large luggage because walkway to resort is quite steep with many steps. Para brasileiros: Não é um resort como conhecemos aqui.
Review 101:The room is spacious, with all you need and was cleaned at the day we arrived. The staff is very helpful and friend. Everything are almost new. Safety and great view
Review 102:not counting the occasional rainshowers...: there should be better couches in the living room - I know they are being used as beds as well bit sitting on them is not comfortable.
Review 103:walking through the mountains, enjoying views and flowers.
Review 104:The stuff was so bad and not co- operative. they did not clean the apt everyday. you have to drive up mount to rich to the place. i don't recomand it.
Review 105:the apt was very good and nice.
Review 106:Second bed room didn't have a door, no tea towels
Review 107:Location, breath taking view of the mountains, cute little village with good quality restaurants in different price categories, romantic atmosphere, especially sitting on the balcony at breakfast or dinner
Review 108:Leaving
Review 109:The staff were really nice, we got upgraded on arrival, the apartment was spacious and spotless with a fantastic balcony, jaw dropping view's
Review 110:We have stayed at this hotel at least four times, so it says it all. We like that the Leysin-Village station is just steps away, and everything else is a short walk. Helpful staff, clean apartment.
Review 111:CLOSE TO TRAIN STATION BUT NOT SUITABLE FOR OLD AND SMALL CHILDREN OR TRAVELLERS WITH LARGE LUGGAGE. WALKWAY TO RESORT IS QUITE STEEP WITH MANY STEPS.
Review 112:VERY BEAUTIFUL VIEW FROM THE RESORT.
Review 113:Large two bedroomed apartment, fully equipped. Dog friendly Walkingdistance to restaurants. Easy to drive to other locations for shoppingor sightseeing Secure parking Amazing views
Review 114:Reception closes early each day and is closed entirely on Sunday.
Review 115:The staff was friendly and the location was great, a short walk down thehill from the train station.
Review 116:A fair walk from the centre and not on the ski bus route, so a bittiring for little kids.
Review 117:Lovely view, spacious and clean apartment with generous space, twobathrooms and a balcony. Neat and well maintained common areas, withsufficient facilities and services for a self catering family holiday.Helpful and polite staff. Leysin is a good family friendly ski resortaccessible by train from uk.
Review 118:i ordered 4 bath towels and I got only 3
Review 119:the price was great ! only 155 chf for 4 people some nice additions like the nespresso machine with the 2 free capsules were a welcome addition to the appartment, along with the fondue's caquelon ^^
Review 120:It was very cost effective. With a good location near the train stop and a good view. We did not have time to fully explore the town, but what wwe did see was nice.
Review 121:A little hard to find.
Review 122:Excellent value, helpful staff, nice, quiet, convenient room, great view and location in Swiss Alps but only 10 minutes to Aigle Castle and 20 minutes to the wonderful Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva.
Review 123:We actually quite liked having the cats around, but I could see this being a potential issue for other visitors and should be information that is more available for potential bookers.
Review 124:Castel Club is quite possibly in the best position in Leysin. It is located just below the Leysin Village train station and has fantastic views right outside the door. The walk to either the Coop or Pam mini market is only about 5 minutes, and the "Le Pain" just down the road is ideal for breakfast/snacks. We stayed in the studio for 2 and it was plenty big enough and had everything you could possibly need including dishwasher and microwave. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and speak very good english.
Review 125:The beds were not so comfortable, some investment there would help.
Review 126:Great location, steps away from Leysin-Village train station, and 10 minutes walk from town center. Our apartment was one of their biggest probably, and we had Dent Du Midi and Rhone Valley view from our balcony, perfect place to have breakfast in the morning. Another great thing about this apartment was two bathrooms. The reception is friendly, and overall, we would go back to this hotel again.
Review 127:The reason for our trip was to go to the Montreaux Jazz festival. Wewere unable to find accomodation in Montreaux however on the ResidenceCastel Club website it said that they were 8 miles from the centre ofMontreaux. This was a lie and we were 28 miles away from the centre. Thecost of a taxi was 150 euros one way, the train cost approx 25 euroseach and there were 4 of us staying there. When I explained this to theyoung girl on reception she informed me that they were aware of themistake on the website, and I could cancel the booking however theywould not be refunding any money as they had already received mypayment. She was unbelievably rude, said there was nothing I could doabout it and when I asked to speak to a manager I was told he was awayfor the next month or two, and that he wouldn't refund my money anyway. She couldn't have cared less about our situation and offered noassistance or apology. We left the parc earlier than planned and one ofour group paid for an earlier return flight home.
Review 128:Not the hotel - but on the Leysin area hiking paths, signalisation isoften confusing/missing and misleading, and downhill bikers are a verybig threat when you are hiking. Especially when taking the misleadingsignalisation into account.
Review 129:Close to train station Leysin-Village, magnificent view from thebalcony, good furniture (however, closet-beds), generally very clean.Impression of the apartment is very good. Lady from reception speaksEnglish (not usual in French-speaking Switzerland) and was veryfriendly. Leysin is nice for a few days in summer (we don't know how itis in the winter).
Review 130:A fantastic week's skiing holiday. Our apartment was on the top floorand the views are amazing. There is a lift! Within the apartment, therewas an upstairs "mezzanine" floor with 1 double and 1 single & a slopingroof (which we thought was great but perhaps wouldn't suit everyone.) 2further sofa beds (1 double and 1 single) in the living area downstairs.2 bathrooms, 1 with a shower and 1 with a bath. The kichen was fullyequipt apart from no kettle. The coffee machine was fantastic! There wasplenty of wardrobe and general living space for 4 of us (2 adults 2children ages 11 & 13). There was a hotel Mini Bus to the maintelecabine for the ski slopes each morning and evening was great, as wasthe storage for skiis at the bottom of the telecabine. Its a short walkto the village, and using the 'back roads' the supermarket was about 10minutes walk.
