Reviews for Lindner Grand Hotel Beau Rivage

Review 1:Quality of breakfast buffet is not as good as other part of the hotel. They should take a look at other hotels in Switzerland and Germany for breakfast bread options. Hope they can improve the quality of food and we will stay here again in future.

Review 2:Very classic building

Review 3:Rooms could do with a little updating and some air conditioning. whilst church bells are lovely to hear ,they do keep you awake and wake you up early if you have a room at the front of the hotel. Half board could have a little extra selection for dinner unless you like a plate of lettuce, soup cheese and bread every meal.

Review 4:Clean High standard spacious rooms set in a very good location with excellent views of the mountains. Excellent breakfast offering a wide selection of cold and hot food. Staff in restaurant very helpful. Swimming pool was very relaxing and peaceful .

Review 5:Hotel needs some extra tables outside because the outdoor garden of the hotel is very amazing ...

Review 6:Staff is very friendly specially Mr. Ovel he was very helpy ... Location is so closely from the train station and infrong of the big garden... Very happy and hope to visit again.

Review 7:I feel the rooms need to be "updated," with newer carpets. I do not recommend paying for an upper floor facing the mountains unless you enjoy the sound of beautiful but frequent loud church bells. I would recommend a room over the river.

Review 8:Great staff, great breakfast, great views, good locations.

Review 9:A lot of things. For a 5 star hotel, this hotel has done very poorly. We came from Gstaad, from one of the best hotels we've ever been to with very high expectations indeed. The moment we arrived in Interlaken and in the hotel our mood went from this :) to this :( First of there was no porter waiting outside to take in our luggage. Second, we were "welcomed" with "you are too early you have to wait 1 hour before your room is ready" so we were like OK. We asked the receptionist some questions about the area and activities and it seems she was in more than a hurry to get rid of us so she was answering hurriedly and with barely any hint of a smile (no its not only the receptionist, all of Interlaken's people need a course in smiling). We left for more than an hour then came back, still the room is not ready so we waited for 30 more minutes before we were allowed inside. The rooms were far from comfortable, we could not sleep the night properly. Next we were not allowed to use irons since its an old building and they are worried because of fire hazards. That's a poor excuse IMO, we went to a very old hotel in Venice (hotel danieli) and they allowed us to use irons in the rooms. Next we were only allow 2 power adapter per room. In addition, the bathrooms were not very clean when we checked in. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but we decided that Interlaken is not the city for us and decided to leave for Zurich the next day. Best decision we made.

Review 10:Location near the station

Review 11:According to me this hotel is less than a 3star hotel with bad room layouts and not comfortable at all.

Review 12:We liked the spread of Breakfast and the staff service in the breakfast area.

Review 13:sandra told me u have to pay for your 5 years old child 79 euro told her booking says all child are wellcom show me your paper after that didnt pay because she checked the paper you have to pay from 6 years old !!!

Review 14:good maneger and helpfull nice location pool view

Review 15:The facilitates are in need of a major renovation and the rooms are in a more desperate need for updates. They are sparse, uncomfortable and lacking in simple essentials. They were also worn and looked too well used. Add to this the extraordinary price and you have a major gap between expectation and reality. It was so poor that we left early (even at the expense of having to pay for an unused night)...it was that disappointing.

Review 16:We found the staff to be polite and helpful

Review 17:Words can not describe this beautiful hotel. Exceptional services provided, Professional reception crew, Strategically located within walking distance of city center west direction and within walking distance as well from the train station east direction, Wonderful and varied breakfast, Cleanliness of the hotel, Free parking for cars, Gorgeous swimming pool equipped with heating system, Words simply can not describe this beautiful hotel.

Review 18:Nothing

Review 19:It was most beautiful inside and out. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive and excellent. Staff were friendly. The position of the Hotel was most convenient, and the furnishings very tasteful.

Review 20:Paying for the wifi considering the cost of the rooms.

Review 21:The staff was excellent! From the reception area, wait staff, cleaning crew - awesome. They made our stay!

Review 22:Female staff were not as friendly as I thought. The hotel is old and not refurbished! The room is smelly with old consumed carpet, and old furniture. Bed was old and it was two singles attached to each other.

Review 23:Location, wifi, breakfast.

Review 24:A truly 'Grand Hotel' in all respects. Very friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms with excellent facilities and brilliant view of the Jungfrau area of the Alps. The restaurant and in particular the food was outstanding and the indoor pool area is excellent. Hotel location is central to all needs and very close to the funicular rail to Harder Kulm. Would recomment this hotel to anyone visiting the Interlaken area.

Review 25:One tiny thing- bit annoyed to discover that the pringles I found in the wardrobe were actually part of the minibar service (which you find out by finding the key, unlocking the minibar and looking at the menu inside).

Review 26:Staff couldn't have done more to be helpful, and breakfast was wonderful- great selection of choices!

Review 27:Everything is perfect, but rooms interior should be renovated. The classics not means desolation

Review 28:Not being able to stay longer!!

Review 29:We loved everything about this hotel. It has a gorgeous atmosphere - friendly, welcoming, helpful - it's wonderfully located, within easy walking distance of Interlaken Ost railway station .... swimming pool and breakfast were highlights!

Review 30:Poor room to be sold as "first class". Condition was generally shabby (carpet threadbare + oil stain; balcony grubby). Shower not usable upon arrival. Never any bar staff waiting to serve - we ALWAYS had to go looking to find someone.

Review 31:Location

Review 32:Had to complete a form disclosing personal contact info to receive free WiFi. Have never had to do that before.

Review 33:Proximity to train station. Facilities within the hotel

Review 34:The rooms are pretty small.

Review 35:The location is very convenient for us to travel to Jungfraujoch via Interlaken Ost station. I also love the swimming pool and gymn facilities.

Review 36:as most Grand Hotels in the area, it is an older hotel: few electrical outlets, no UPS port, no Central AC/Heating so you rely on opening windows to cool room down. (difficult d/t ambient noise from frequent passing trains).

Review 37:location, friendly, helpful staff

Review 38:Minor suggestion- to add door latches so the door do not have to be locked manually everytime (room door uses old school keys)

Review 39:Loved the room with a view (corner room). Breakfast was great and the staff were friendly. Located just nearby to the Lucern Ost station (less than 200m)

Review 40:To begin, the hotel was run down, musty, and did not show any of the "grand splendor" vibe it was searching for. The rooms were dark and the air smelled stale. Further, the staff offered the worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life. Upon check out, the staff tried to overcharge me. I explained to them their mistake on the bill, and received a rude and short response from the beginning. The receptionist brought her supervisor upon my request, and the supervisor was likewise rude before I had said a word. After a few minutes of explaining and receiving condescending responses from the staff, the staff finally realized that I was right. However, they did not apologize nor admit their wrong. They simply told me they would change the bill. I signed for the corrected amount in a new bill. Two days later, I checked my credit card statement and realized they still overcharged me!!! They charged me for an amount that I did not sign for! I have been emailing the hotel for four weeks and they still have not corrected the problem with the bank although they claim they have. This hotel is full of snooty workers and will try to steal your money. As a warning, this establishment is not worth your money to begin with.

Review 41:1. The hotel is quit expensive but I think that we recieved a proper value in return. 2. I missed a trendmill in the fittness room.

Review 42:The room; the Breakfast, the service level of the staff.

Review 43:We felt we were treated like second class citizens in the restaurant in the evening. We were never given access to the restaurant proper, despite paying the same prices as those who were. On two occasions our party of five persons was left standing at the restaurant door for a very unreasonable period instead of being shown to a table promptly. The 'meet and greet' at the restaurant entrance is poor in the evenings, although at breakfast it is fine. One evening it took three hours from arrival to completion of our meal - too long for a party with 8 and 9 year old boys. The meal took so long largely due to the exceptionally extended intervals between courses. The food itself was of an excellent standard, but the menu choice was very limited and did not alter over the six nights we stayed at the Beau Rivage.

Review 44:The rooms we occupied were spacious and comfortable. To have inter-connecting rooms and two bathrooms, rather than a family room made our stay exceptionally comfortable. Booking with the hotel handled highly efficiently, pro-actively and competently. The reception staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. The swimming pool is beautiful and was generally uncrowded. As we were ski-ing in Grindelwald the proximity to Interlaken Ost railway station was invaluable. The hotel grounds and the views from the rooms are very beautiful too.

Review 45:Too small and non important to mention.

Review 46:We were married in Interlaken and the hotel was very accommodating and was quick to help anytime we asked. Our room was amazing, breakfast was great (but tiresome after the 4th morning - should have daily dish or something like that) and facilities offered were everything we needed. Gym was small but ideal. We will be staying here every time we are in the area.

Review 47:It is my first time to find a hotel that charge guests for iron board , or adapters. Imagine that I just wanted a knife to cut a fruit that I got from market and they said that I should pay to use a knife!

Review 48:I didn't like it because i didn't get the room I booked for, and when I asked the receptionist ( Mr Oliver ) He comfirmed me that the pictures I showed him as my reservation from booking was old and no longer available, when I payed him the amount of a better and bigger room. I didn't like it , so now I don't know who's problem is it the booking or the hotel itself !

Review 49:Terrific location with good views. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very nice, well maintained period building with modern addition of pool/gym/sauna complex

Review 50:I booked by booking offering room with river view or mountain and the hotel give me no view. I told them I want the same what I booked the didn't give me the room and very bad staff not friendly , shown off . They are not honest I will never come again I lost my money

Review 64:Bath room door was noisy when try to open or close , it required maintenanc.

Review 65:Complementary, Location, cleaness

Review 66:Tiny room. Very expensive.

Review 67:Staff was not helpful and the room furniture is old and the quality of service is bad

Review 68:Location only

Review 69:Awful, dated rooms. A "suite" was an utter joke.

Review 70:Nothing.

Review 71:There was alot of noise and the hotel room was very old and smelly

Review 72:everything

Review 73:nothing

Review 74:Staff attitude was the worst I've ever seen in a "5 star" hotel, or in any hotel for that matter. This is amongst other things.

Review 75:The hotel is not air-conditioned

Review 76:very cooperative staff in the hotel, good facilities, location and clean hotel

Review 77:More powerful fans and the few flies :-)

Review 78:Overall level of service, attention to detail, handling of my fracture etc

Review 79:slightly tired. Very expensive to eat in restaurant and food was - ok, not fantastic.Super location with nice verandah.

Review 80:Room with no Aircondition in a 5 star Hotel, bed was not comfortable

Review 81:Beautiful site , location

Review 82:Understaffed hotel, delayed service, no air conditioning, no treadmill in fitness center,

Review 83:Fantastic location

Review 84:Lovely staff who looked after my husband when he had hurt his foot.

Review 85:very overpriced for what we had. 900 sw f for two nights half board Internet very poor.

Review 86:downstairs antique belle epoch washrooms good breakfast

Review 97:price no diversity in breakfast wifi is not free

Review 98:Location Room Service Restaurant Rooms space is good free barking

Review 99:Very good staff, facilities, location. I will back again over & over.

Review 100:too old and small rooms, too old and furniture

Review 101:the restaurant terrace

Review 102:Friendly helpful staff Fabulous room, immaculately clean Great breakfast buffet Superb location Swiss luxury and comfort

Review 103:Old bathroom decoration oldfashioned

Review 104:Location location location

Review 105:Awful experience. Staff are not friendly at all. The rooms are tight and not air conditioned (it was 45 deg C.) breakfast was like a fish market (I guess this one is not the hotels's fault). No comfort at all.

Review 106:This hotel is located very close to the train station and makes it easy to go on excursions near Interlaken. The staff is very friendly and goes out of way to help.

Review 107:It was over run by too many bus tours. Even in May, there were too many people. A town of that size should limit its tourist numbers.

Review 108:The mountains and the entire location.

Review 109:Room 120 allowed dogs to stay that we were not told about in advance sohad wooden floors and whilst a nice room it was not in the original partof the hotel. Shower within the bath is antiquated and too small.Toiletries for the price charged were meagre.

Review 110:Location, quieter side of Interlaken, very accessible to railway andall amenities

Review 111:it needs refreshing the rooms, not the style but you better don't look too close at old carpet floors and wallpaper cloth dating back maybe to Belle Epoque as well?

Review 112:Generous and beautiful fin de siècle architecture, sunny big pool, well laid out saunas and fitness, close to trains, city, restaurants. Well trained charmy and helpful stuff, breakfast buffet is outstanding, well beyond the typical 'reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet'. Yes, its not really fitting its category, but its excellent

Review 113:Free wi-fi at the lobby only.

Review 114:Location is great. Attentive and very helpful staff. Great breakfast and free coffee/tea between 4 - 6 p.m. at the lobby was wonderful. Complimentary ride to the train station was good. Definitely, a 5-star hotel.

Review 115:A poor selection of TV channels when compared with other hotels of this nature. A flat screen TV would have been good.

Review 116:Lovely hotel, very friendly and informative staff, good value for money.

Review 117:- I've reserved a first class rooms and I think what I've had is a lower class. - old furniture compared to the it's price and hotel class. - dirty furniture/rooms and linens and bedding. - poor staff communication and way of dealing.

Review 118:The furniture should be changed, and all the rooms should be remodeled with a modern look.

Review 119:The hotel is nice, our room was spacious and had a nice balcony and view.

Review 120:I don't like the bath room I don't like the furniture No air condition So it's noisy when open the windows No Internet in the rooms I don't recommend it to any one It should be three star

Review 121:I like the staff I like free parking
