Reviews for UNB Fredericton Accommodations

Review 1:Dorm rooms somewhat old. Expected that by now they would have been slightly updated. Washrooms down the hall.

Review 2:Walkable distance to downtown area. Quiet area for good night's sleep. Price was right! Wifi very fast!

Review 3:it is not the fault of the accommodation that air conditioning is not part of the building and that we stayed on a hot day. a friend later suggested that we bring a small fan the next time we have a summertime stay here.

Review 4:incredibly clean. close to the historical part of Fredericton. friendly staff. private accommodations for 4 people: two double bed bedrooms, full kitchen facilities and bathroom at an amazing price.

Review 5:We had become used to having a sink in our room at the other residences we were staying at. Spoiled aren't we??

Review 6:The staff were very helpful with providing directions to various locations. Rooms were close to the washrooms. Breakfast provided with each stay. Building was a significant improvement over Lady Beaverbrook Hall!

Review 7:no breakfast, but downtown close and eateries near by

Review 8:very clean and comfortable loved the living area and kitchen too (just didn't have need to use it)

Review 9:Overall we had a pleasant stay. But travelling with four older kids, we would have preferred some of the rooms with twin beds instead of all three rooms having double beds which is not great for kids.

Review 10:Pleasant campus, roomy apartment, good kitchen to cook for family.

Review 11:It was very hot and there was no air conditioning or fans in the room. Also the lighting is not great ... Obviously the students have lamps of their own.

Review 12:The location is the best feature .... Just parked my car and walked everywhere!

Review 13:The breakfast offerings were limited. A protein such as eggs would be ideal.

Review 14:The staff is very helpful with suggestions for dining out and entertainment.

Review 15:The air conditioner in the hall way is bit loud. Ok to me when I closed the bedroom door.

Review 16:I liked everything. Too bad we did not have enough time to explore the beatiful campus. Of course you don't get romantic decorations like in other motels in a student domitory. But it provides everyting we need, kitchen, bathroom, super fast optic-fiber wifi, etc. The best part is the price is very good and the room is very clean.

Review 17:I booked a 3-bedroom apartment, however, we got assigned an apartment in basement. There's no luggage cart for you to use. And the parking is far away. Besides there is a big humidifier in the apartmentwhich make big noise . The beds make squeaking noise as well.

Review 18:Wifi is pretty good.

Review 19:Good value for money if you take into account that this is quite a big apartment. There is a coffee machine and even a dishwasher. Small repairs were addressed immediately. Close to town by car. Parking is free.

Review 20:The residence room hasn't been updated since the 70s or 80s, other then th wifi. Our room door kept jamming and was difficult to close. The beds weren't very comfortable due to the style/age of th bed.

Review 21:The staff were pleasant and helpful (lost one set of keys and all cleaning and residence staff offers to help find). Great view of the city since the university is situated on to of a hill. We were able to cook our own meals using the kitchen in the residence which helps save money from eating out.

Review 22:Not bad - you just need to not need TV or AC and are able to climb stairs to stay here. I was fine with all three!

Review 23:Lovely campus setting, helpful staff, extremely clean facilities

Review 24:The apartment was stuffy even with the windows open.....could have used a fan.

Review 25:Great value for money. Convenient location. Free, secure parking, fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful campus with well kept grounds.

Review 26:The beds are designed for people to room at a dorm and so they expect those people to provide things like comfortable pillows, etc. The beds are not horrible, just very, very basic.

Review 27:So much room for a family to stretch out in, that was something that was greatly appreciated.

Review 28:Inadequate towels, sparse cooking gear and utensils, no AC or cross ventilation, institutional type bathroom tissue. 3 day stay, asked for fresh towels (the towels were 1 face cloth, one small hand towel and one hand towel, Dollarama grade) didn't get them...etc

Review 29:Great location and good price...$85 gets you a 2 bedroom that sleeps 2 couples ...lots of facilities (none of them open, lol) but lots of walking and outdoor playing space.

Review 30:Bed was a little lumpy. There was a thumping noise that happened throughout the night. I didn't identify it, but could have been a furnace below me. Breakfast didn't start till 8am. The dining hall is closed by 6pm.

Review 31:Free parking just outside the door. Attractive campus. Good water pressure in the shower. Nice, helpful staff. Room was clean. Very simple amenities, but great value. Similar to staying in a hostel.

Review 32:My husband's bed was missing a spring underneath and sagged. He landed up pulling the mattress off and sleeping on the floor. My bed however, was good.

Review 33:Great surroundings and close proximity to everything we needed. The price can't be beat!

Review 34:Our room was just on top of the door to go outside, so all we heard was the door slam all morning when we were trying to sleep. And not much open on weekends like time Horton that was on site.could not find coffee anywhere if you miss free breakfast

Review 35:Clean,location great close to everything

Review 36:Not a bad experience necessarily. As a single I paid about $45 per night which is good. However I know that if I travelled with girlfriend the shared bathroom at $70 for two people would have been a deal breaker since we could get a motel / hotel with a private bathroom for just a bit more. The price for two (based on shared bathroom issue alone) is a bit high. Travelling alone is good price though. Great spot / Quiet. Thanks.

Review 37:The peaceful university environment. Only an occasional yahoo outside. Likely from off campus since school is out.

Review 38:Continental breakfast was very poor quality. But for price it did its purpose as a clean place to sleep.

Review 39:Friendly staff, easy directions for after hours check-in. Room clean.

Review 40:I should have read the description a little closer as I was not expecting an empty dorm room for the money charged. No tv, bathroom (it was down the end of the hall), no facilities were open after 10 pm the the shared kitchen was on a different floor and not open at night. Not what we were looking for on a vacation.

Review 41:The staff were very helpful and looked after me completely. Great for a backpacker or someone just needing a place to crash for the night.

Review 42:no air conditioning, towels were too small, bed sheets could have been cleaner, old stain.

Review 43:price, suite convenience, location. All in all a great solution when not enough room at host home.

Review 44:Recreation staff (swimming pool) didn't seem to know what was available for guests and at what price.

Review 45:It was great to have two separate rooms, which is a plus when traveling with extended family. Having the kitchenette allowed an alternative to restaurant dining.

Review 46:A bit hard to find. No amenities but knew that when booked. Chairs in living area looked like kids had wiped nose on it.

Review 47:Affordable, two bedroom and private living area and bathroom. Internet connection. Large. Friendly staff.

Review 48:It was said in other rewiews but some kitchen things could be perfect

Review 49:The staff, the girls at the reception, were great; i was worried after read other rewiews that find the place could be problematic: they send me an email with all instruction and were lovely . Clean, parking, good bed

Review 50:I underestimated how long it would take to walk downtown from the campus. It was longer to come back from downtown because it is all uphill. It was easily 35-45 minutes to walk back.

Review 51:The staff were friendly, helpful, and responded quickly to any concerns. The campus was picturesque, and it was a quiet place for a stay.

Review 52:We arrived on a dark, rainy evening after driving 12 hours. We could not find the building assigned to us despite driving and walking around for 30 minutes in the rain. The staff at the front desk was most unhelpful, thus the whole experience was relatively unpleasant. It is important to staff the front desk with mature persons capable of handling client request with sensitivity and with a degree of helpfulness. The front desk staff are akin to ambassadors for an establishment with the capacity to endear or disillusion the guests. We, the guests, happily put up with discomfort when the staff are pleasant. Thank you.

Review 53:Lost keys. Pd, 4 loss, no problem. No mention of add'nal $100.00charge to change outside, main door locks. Outrageous! Staff did notstate this charge. What about other visitors? Were front door locksrekeyed next day? More to come.

Review 54:the rugs in the room were awful the first room we were given was not made up people were talking outside during the night. He sounded like a lecturer or staff member bathroom facilities were terrible. My wife had to go through 4 doors to get to the ladies bathroom

Review 55:office was a bit hard to find in the dark.

Review 56:our 2-bed room was clean and spacious. washrooms were clean. building was quiet. staff were welcoming and helpful.

Review 57:Noisy ventilation/heating system. Limited kitchen utensiles and no toaster.

Review 58:Very spacious for our group of 4. We were allowed to extend our check-out time to noon and really appreciated the extra time.

Review 59:Needed a way to drive closer to the door to unload bags. Staff could not advise of hours of pool (even just a poster on a bulletin board would work).

Review 60:Clean and well organized. Staff were friendly.

Review 61:I loved how old the dorm was- 1928. There was rich wood paneling in the lobby, and a fireplace in my room. Simple, but nice accommodation at a great price, and a short walk into the downtown.

Review 62:We had no car and had to return the keys before our drive arrived and were locked out of the building. Knowing we were leaving could someone come to us with the refund?

Review 63:It brought back memories of living in dorms. It is a beautiful campus within walking distance to downtown. Loved the walking trails.

Review 64:Liked suite but we were originally in double room and it was old and dirty so we upgraded to suite

Review 65:I stayed in a room that overlooked a rear parking lot and it was sometimes noisy at night. Never later than 11pm though.

Review 66:The campus is lovely, it's a peaceful environment. The accommodations were not crowded, and the kitchenettes in Lady Beaverbrook residence were very useful!

Review 67:The mattress on the bed was firm... uncomfortably so.

Review 68:I found UNB accommodations by accident, and glad I did. Fredericton motels were booked solid. UNB campus was quiet, lovely, central, and inexpensive.

Review 69:A really small, old room. The carpet in my room had extensive black stains. The directions from the highway were good, but the last street onto which you had to turn, had no street sign. A sandwich board with the necessary information would have helped solve this deficiency.

Review 70:Cheap. Safe. Bed was reasonably comfortable. It was quiet. Showers worked.

Review 71:no central air conditioning, got extremely hot and muggy in room, should provide fans for rooms in summer as I had to go buy one myself

Review 72:ease of access,price, facilities

Review 73:The room was a little musty, so we had to open the windows to air it out

Review 74:The location is pleasant, on the leafy UNB campus, and is a medium distance walk from downtown, accessible by bike path. The staff were very accomodating and gladly corrected our reservation from single to double when it turned out they had received incorrect information from booking.com. Their restaurant recommendations were very good.

Review 75:the hall way doors are always smaching even at night. there was no fan in my room so I was burning in the summer at night.

Review 76:bathrooms are always clean. kitchen and lobby are also tidey and very neat.

Review 77:The beds were horrible and even though the dorm wasn't full, it was really noisy. Not from partying guests but from loud creaky old doors that slammed every time someone moved around the building. We pulled the mattresses off the beds and slept on the floor but they were still uncomfortable, worn out springs and lumpy.

Review 78:The location and UNB campus are wonderful. The residences are very close to the downtown and are well equipped with recreational facilities and other amenities. The residence that we stayed in (Lady Beaverbrook) is a cool old building, there's even a sealed off, full sized indoor swimming pool from the 1800s, very Shining-esque.

Review 79:the staff at the residence ad was very rude and incompetent - especially the two girls that were at the desk Saturday morning when I was checking out' I shall report yhem to the management with one exception a young woman who was at the desk Frriday morning the toilets and showers at Mc Leond residence were filthy

Review 80:the view from the campus

Review 81:This place and facility is value for money. It has all the basic needs. One day we spent at the facility was the hurricane day and no power and the emergency lights were not on.

Review 82:98 F/37 C heat, no AC staff gave us keys that didn't work, when I had to plod back for an exchange they cheerily said, "we've had issues with those!" Kind thing to do would have been to accompany us the first time to make sure keys DID work in blazing heat for two old ladies. No AC, no fan. We survived.

Review 83:Price--two separate bedrooms, inexpensive laundry.

Review 84:There was no wi-fi available. The girl at the reception desk could have been nicer. Far from downtown.

Review 85:Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Fully-equipped apartment.

Review 86:Weird guy walking around with no top on was funny but random . No wifi in bedroom .

Review 87:Facilities were comfy and people were friendly :) easy to find and close to city .

Review 88:This was a great deal. Great location, beautiful quiet campus. Room was clean, comfortable but a bit hot due to no ac, we still enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Review 89:Family of five, stayed in apartment with 3 bedrooms. Very clean, kitchen had everything we needed. Great value.

Review 93:WiFi only in the bedroom.

Review 94:Free breakfast, cheap compared to other places in Fredericton, good quality for this price.

Review 95:Price should be lower.

Review 96:Close to river and downtown.

Review 97:No breakfast included

Review 98:Good value

Review 99:No A/C

Review 100:Friendliness of staff, room was comfortable, mattress ok, breakfast great for the price of room. Overall, terrific.

Review 101:There is no air conditioning and the weather happened to be hot.

Review 102:The apartment is spacious and clean with kitchen, free wifi.

Review 103:A bit on the pricey side, and the experience would be perfect with a breakfast.

Review 104:Good service, friendly staff, basic but good breakfast

Review 105:There was not enough kitchen tool (there was no toaster) and a pan was dirty in the closet.

Review 106:The laundry, the location and overall good value.

Review 107:It was great having a suite - with 2 teeagers, hotel rooms are a bit cramped - this gave us lots of room.

Review 108:To Hot in the rooms.but it was ok. I brought a fan and it was for only one night.

Review 109:the location was great. We did a tour on UNB

Review 110:Common toilet/shower area and no fridge.

Review 111:The bed was very comfortable.

Review 112:Unbelievably hot. No air conditioning, or even a fan. Probably won't stay here again.

Review 113:Pillow was not comfortable.

Review 114:Location is very central.

Review 115:Great location. I graduated from this university in 1966 and had a wonderful time reliving the memories.

Review 116:No AC and only one roll of TP for 6 people.

Review 117:When travelling with 6 people it was great to have our own space but still be together.

Review 118:Plastic pillow, rooms get hot, no air conditioning

Review 119:Location, rooms for the price, access to uni facilities.

Review 120:No air

Review 121:bed is uncomfortable. And three bedroom with only one washroom.

Review 122:Wifi is fast. Very cheap for four person.

Review 123:air conditioning not working

Review 125:Room & bathroom were clean. I really appreciated the free WI FI and parking. Breakfast was also good & staff very helpful.

Review 126:Kids upset no TV. I was happy!

Review 127:Spacious three bedroom dorm with kitchen. Kids enjoyed their own rooms. Helpful staff for late arrival.

Review 128:The room was really clean but needed to wash all dishes before use. The kitchen did not feel clean

Review 129:Location was very good
