Reviews for Quartermain House Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:It was on a busy street so there was traffic noise but it was convenient to downtown and the lovely walking bridge.
Review 2:The owners have spared no expense in updating the luxurious bath and providing all the niceties (keurig coffee maker, TV, mini fridg., bath robes, along with toiletries and a lovely snack when we arrived). The breakfast was delicious. Wish we could have spent more than one night in Fredericton.
Review 3:Amazing place I would recommend to everyone stopping by Fredericton. The owner warmly welcomed us as if we were part of her family! The house is a little paradise. Thank you again...
Review 4:Our hostess, Debra, was more than accommodating , and her passion for the home and housing her guests was quite apparent in the comfort and quality of our stay. The 180 year house is a treasure, the bedrooms are charming, the newly renovated washrooms are fabulous, and the breakfasts were a delight of local in-season dishes. Conveniently located just a short walk from the downtown scene.
Review 5:Debra, our host, was most gracious. We arrived at 3:15 pm on the day of our reservation, only to find no one home (check in is from 4-8pm). As we were walking back to the car to wait, one of the other guests at the B&B returned from an event and gave us Debra's cell number but here was no answer. My husband and I decided to check out downtown and grab a bite to eat while waiting. When we went back, Debra had returned and was very apologetic despite our early arrival...she even reduced the room rate! That's customer service! The Quartermain room is beautifully furnished and comfortable with an awesome ensuite complete with soaking tub.Breakfast was innovative and delicious with homemade jams, local organic fruit, and a full hot breakfast....not to mention the fresh baked cookies upon arrival and the chocolates at night. Stay here and you will not be disappointed!
Review 6:Debra was very friendly and helpful. The house speaks volumes of her enthusiasm for hosting in her beautiful home. The décor throughout the house reflects Debra's background in design.
Review 7:Bed could have been a bit wider.
Review 8:Fabulous house. Very nicely and tastefully decorated. As we used the 3 rooms we got the whole house, which wad a real treat. Great garden to relax as well.
Review 9:Everything about the Quaretermain was top drawer. The location is ideal as it is close to the highway, the university and downtown. A beautiful walk along the river right across the street. Deborah is the consummate hostess. We have stayed in hotels in Fredericton more than 50 times. Not again while places like the Quartermain are an option.
Review 10:The location is perfect, as were the garden, the home and our hostess. There were so many nice extras that she provided like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bottled water and fresh cookies.
Review 11:Loved everything about this B&B. Set the bar very high for further accommodations on our trip. Every detail in every corner of this B&B, was meticulously thought out, resulting in the utmost of comfort and quality. Bravo Quartermain House !
Review 12:Beautiful old home. Room was gorgeous and the private bathroom for our suite was large and beautiful. Breakfast was awesome and served with style and is close to downtown Fredericton.
Review 13:QH was a beautiful, carefully restored historic home with many added extra touches. The owner was extremely attentive to the needs of her guests and prepared a beautiful breakfast for her guests. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathroom, with its double sink, shower, and clawfoot tub provided a beautiful place to relax and unwind.
Review 14:Nothing!
Review 15:Staff was awesome and accommodating. Very personal attention! Breakfast was the most awesome part of our entire trip!! My wife and I would definitely come back here to visit again!
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:Everything, living here is like living in an artwork created by Debra, the owner of the house. Every little detail is well taken care of. I can easily say this is the best B&B experience we have ever had. Thank you for sharing this beautiful historical house with travelers!
Review 18:Because the B&B is situated on a main road, the traffic noise (even though our bedroom window was on the side of the house) spoiled the experience. However, not an issue if one is used to some noise.
Review 19:Tasteful decoration with period features and furniture. Our host, Deborah`s attention to detail, beginning with a different choice each day for breakfast, to the fresh milk, water and coffee/tea facility in our room, was much appreciated. The library was well stocked and the added games were a bonus for wet days. An easy walk into Fredericton.
Review 20:We have stayed at B&B's all over Europe and the US and Quartermain B & B is by far the best we have ever seen. Debra's design and attention to detail in restoring this lovely historic home are evident throughout.
Review 21:There had been a snow storm, weather was exceedingly cold so could not go skiing. SO we relaxed in the morning, enjoyed the library selection. We liked everything.
Review 22:Historical property in exquisite condition, wonderful owner/manager, all amenities top notch, walking distance to city attractions, in a very scenic location on the river, delicious breakfast, there was nothing we did not like. Surprise plate of home made pastries awaited our 11 pm cold walk back from the event we attended. Very thoughtful.
Review 23:Everything! Amazing Bathroom splendid decorations for the entire house Lovely, delicious and very well served breakfast. Just as other guests who have reviewed and I was really enjoyed the stay!
Review 24:it is a bit difficult to find at nighttime, I would suggest to put an advertisement in front of the house

Review 26:Debra the owner was great. Made you feel at home. Food was best ever. The home is beautiful and the bathroom was larger than most rooms you would stay in!! Extremely clean and all the little special touches. Memorable place to stay!!
Review 27:The house and room was beautifully decorated. The breakfast was restaurant quality. The bathroom contained every amenity and was very well light.
Review 28:Debra the host has such attention to detail. We travel extensively with our work, and although we were there on holidays we usually stay in 5 star hotels. Quartermain House was as good or better than any 5 star hotel we have stay in! Debra also cooked us a fantastic vegan breakfast on our request.
Review 29:Somewhat steep staircase to upstairs bedrooms might trouble the less able with heavy suitcases, but nothing to dislike
Review 30:Great breakfast, ideal location near restaurants, close to river, friendly hostess, off-street parking, wonderful history of the house
Review 31:The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Our room was very comfortable and little extras e.g. cookies., were provided. The bathroom was amazing, huge room with luxury twin shower and bath.
Review 32:Stayed for 1 night during the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival. Beautifully decorated home that reflected the creative talent of our thoughtful hostess. Breakfast was delicious and included locally sourced items and home made donut muffins! Location was perfect for walking to all the festival venues.
Review 33:There is absolutely nothing to fault with this B&B.
Review 34:This is the best B&B that I have ever stayed at. The house was beautiful and the rooms decorated and equipped to the highest standard. Everything was of the best quality and all guests needs had been catered for. Our host was wonderful and friendly and her home cooked breakfast is second to none. A wonderful experience. I only wish that it was closer to where I lived, as if it was I would be there every couple of months!
Review 35:Everything is perfect. Thank you Debra to share such a beautiful home and make us feel like visiting an old friend. This historical establishment had been renovated with all the modern comfort and still retains its beautiful classic style. Both inside and outside of the building are perfect setting to take photos. The house is located at the river front and is just a short relaxing ten minutes walk along the green area to downtown Fredericton. Debra welcomed us with homemade treat. We stayed at the Quartermain suite. In room there is a Keurig coffee make and a fridge The bathroom is huge with gorgeous bathtub, adjustable rain head shower and modern double sink vanities. The bathrobes, slippers and the towels are in top quality cotton. The bedding are silky comfy. We had have a good rest after more than eight hours driving. We had our breakfast beside the bow window. The breakfast was great. Awaiting us at the dining room was aroma of home baked strawberry Danish rolls. Debra served us with fresh brewed coffee. then came the warm fruit dish with three waffle fingers. Lastly was the gourmet vegetable omelet sided with whole wheat toast. On the table, there were homemade jams, marmalade and maple syrup. The food was tasty and the dishes were nicely presented. This was a more than full breakfast and you can just skip the lunch. I would highly recommend to anyone who travel to Fredericton.
Review 36:Absolutely nothing.
Review 37:Everything Hostess Debra, warm welcome, helpful about area - places to eat and visit Rooms - Mackay suite, bathroom incredible! Breakfast fresh and tasty Loved the guest beverage room on same floor as bedrooms. Able to have tea to go along with Debra's delicious homemade cookies.
Review 38:We booked the reservation online based on previous reviews and the reasonable price and were extremely happy to find our high expectations were met. Deborah was as nice as can be and the room and breakfast were fantastic! We plan to visit again!
Review 39:Our host Debra was so sweet and accommodating. My friend and I were in town for a wedding. Debra pointed us in the direction of where to find a nice card, arranged for a taxi, and even spruced up our gift wrapping. There were fresh cookies on our arrival and departure, & Breakfast was delicious. Our room was beautiful, and we especially enjoyed getting 'dolled' up in the beautiful bathroom. Lovely stay!
Review 40:The house was beautiful, the bathroom absolutely amazing, very roomy and well-appointed. References to the history of the building are plenty and interesting. Our hostess was very friendly and welcoming. Her cookies are delicious!
Review 41:Debra the innkeeper is a warm generous host who gives a great deal in this beautifully renovated historic home along the river. We only wish we were staying longer
Review 42:Nothing.
Review 43:Pretty much everything. The location, on the waterfront but a 10 minute walk to downtown; the breakfast; the amenities provided for guests such as a variety of tea, coffee, water, cookies; the comfort of the beds; the quality and attention to detail of the bathroom fixtures and fittings (not to mention the size, larger than some city studio apartments!); and the welcome by the host herself. This place is excellent and if you need to stay in Fredericton, stay here.
Review 44:Perfect stay..greeted charmingly at the door by the owner Debra...from then on treated like royalty. Gourmet breakfast was wonderful....Room and Spa bath amazing. Decor and decorating was tasteful...Debra, you are an artist in all ways.

Review 46:The decor and historical design is lovely. Nice extra touches like homemade cookies and keyring coffee in room. Owner is very welcoming and attentive. We would definitely stay again. So close to downtown too,
Review 47:The setting and house itself are beautiful, but the most impressive thing is the host, Debra, who is a fabulous cook and treats you like family. I would return in a heartbeat.

Review 84:Convenient location. Wonderful host. Fabulous breakfast. Comfortable room.
Review 85:Everything about this b&b is the best. The rooms, the breakfast, the situation to the city, the view of the river and of course the owners.
Review 86:Debra was the perfect hostess at this beautiful historic guest house. Our room was beautifully furnished and even the fact that our bathroomwas separate made no difference. Debra provided dressing gowns andslippers and slippers and the bath was private to us. There are onlythree bedrooms with one en-suite. Breakfast was heaven and there was noneed for lunch. Our hostess loves having guests and believes in feedingthem well! It was a shame to have to leave this haven and move on. Ashort walk along the riverside took you into the heart of Frederictonand there is also the walking bridge across the River St John. I wouldrecommend anyone who goes to Fredericton to get a room here.
Review 87:Incredible! The last place where we stayed after a 2 weeks trip and we wanted to be spoiled. And our host didn't fail! Apart from the extreme comfort and style of the house, bedroom and bathroom, the attention to details was unbelievable (bath robe and slippers, freshly baked cookies on arrival, chocolates...). The breakfast was a feast. We would highly recommended it. Fabulous!
Review 88:This was an amazing B&B! The decor, food, and location was perfect. Debra is an amazing cook and extremely accommodating to my vegetarian needs. The house has been completely renovated and our room had a huge ensuite that I closed a free standing tub and extra large walk in shower. The bed and linens were incredibly comfortable and the entire home including dining area, library, and sitting room were absolutely gorgeous! The location was great and we were able to walk to the downtown area, and weekly farmers market. Walking trails all within minutes and all along the waterfront. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the quartermain house and will recommend it to anyone traveling to Fredericton.
Review 89:Wonderful bathroom and classy room that made me feel like a queen. The place and the staff is very friendly and professional. The breakfast and cookies were both amazing! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay (quiet) near downtown. Simply amazing - thank you.
Review 90:Debra was an amazing host. Breakfasts were exceptional. I appreciated the genuine interest in my visit. The house is beautiful, and the rooms very comfortable. The bathrooms were top notch.I felt welcomed and at home!

Review 94:We enjoyed every spent moment in Fredericton. Debra was absolutely wonderful, it is very evident she puts a lot of care and effort into ensuring you have a wonderful stay. I have never been to a better B&B. The breakfast was incredible and the bed was extremely comfortable. Absolutely no complaints on our stay.
Review 95:We stayed in the Quartermain Quarters and loved it! The bathroom was amazing! The house was beautiful. It was full of old charm but had the perfect balance of modern updates (bathroom, Keurig coffee/tea offered at all times, etc.). It was our first time staying at a B&B and it will be tough to beat this experience! The breakfast (as well as the cookies we were greeted with upon arrival) was tasty and thoughtful. The weather wasn't great while we were in town but even the snow off our car had been cleared in the morning. We hated to leave and would love to return in the future.
