Reviews for Hotel José Nogueira
Review 1:Hotel was set in a beautiful old mansion, situated near shopping and restaurants. Very clean rooms, and spacious. Breakfast was complimentary and very nice.
Review 2:The beds are large and nice looking but hard es a rock! View from room onto a roof (so, no view).
Review 3:Large suite, quite, bar and "sunroom" of hotel very nice, well kept. Parking available
Review 4:the elevator is made for tiny people. Couldnt go up with my partner because of the bags didnt fit in the tiny area.
Review 5:close to everything! restaurants are walking distance the rooms are AMAZINGLY clean. the bed is big enough for a nice romantic night. :-) the entire hotel is just great. didnt get to touch the bar but it looked nice. the staff was very helpful as well.
Review 6:Restaurant was shut. We noticed crumbs al over chairs and floor in the breakfast room when we arrived. They were still there when we left two days later. NOT ACCEPTABLE for this standard of hotel.
Review 7:Good location with parking (hard to access!!). Comfortable room that lacked adequate lighting. Breakfast was good. We had an excellent sandwich at Shackleton bar. We were able to see around the whole palace. Well worth staying for that. It is beautiful!
Review 8:It did not affect us directly, but there was a roof leak (a bucket caught up the dripping water). It would be a shame if the necessary maintenance is not executed promptly. One of the bar staff had trouble being friendly. I do hope her face doesn't crack when she manages to smile one day. I also found it a pity that the published number for the hotel turned to be that of a guest room. But, Ends well, all's well!
Review 9:We enjoyed the attentiveness of the reception staff, as well as the historic feel - the building has a history and part is open to the public at a low entrance fee. We also appreciated the picnic lunches that were packed for our excursions. Most of all we appreciate Booking.com's assistance when we had to delay our visit due to urgent medical treatment my husband had to have. Many bouquets of flowers for Booking.com!
Review 10:Don't expect more than a 3 star service.
Review 11:Great location and well restored building. Probably the prettiest heritage building in town. Nice large bedroom and bathroom with jacuzzi. Simple but ample breakfast spread.
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:Beautiful historical hotel in great location. Large clean room with biggest spa I've ever seen. Very warm and comfortable. Well worth staying.
Review 14:Bar and breakfast service and food was not upto the good standard of the rest. Milk was off and fruit was not fresh
Review 15:Wonderful decoration, good heating and situated in best area of Punta Arenas
Review 16:Some rooms are pretty small
Review 17:The Bartendar Anita made the best Cafate Sours with a smile and a laugh. She was wonderful! One day we had to leave before their regular bfast time. They put out a special bfast at o'dark thirty just for us. Classy!
Review 18:Breakfast is rather poor, with no decent bread or offer of cooked eggs
Review 19:Nice and traditional, and we like the historical link with Shackleton in particular
Review 20:The battery in my door died during my stay, late at night. There was only one woman on staff and I had to go up the emergency ladder to the 2nd floor and enter my room through the window, that luckily I had left open. The management, did not even offer me a letter or card, glass of water for my trouble. There management people on occasion at the hotel, I saw a woman, rude, does not greed guests and does nothing to make you feel welcome. Management is not up to US & European standards. Also the woman that works the bar, incredibly rude. She treats you as if she is doing you a favor by attending to your paying requests.
Review 21:The property itself is very pretty. We had 2 rooms room 311 3rd floor highly recommend with sitting room & gorgeous huge. Room 204 w/ 2 beds very comfy. Housekeeping is great, clean, quick, friendly. Front desk staff, friendly, helpful, but understaffed. They keep one person at a time, which is just poor management. The same person has to help with luggage, reservations, phones, concierge services, everything. The young men working the front desk are excellent, it is not their fault, but management's.
Review 22:The rooms are very small and we didn't sleep well here since the nearby streets can be very noisy at night.
Review 23:We enjoyed the hotel because of the location within town and we loved the architecture and the history behind the hotel, the Shackleton bar, and the breakfast area. The rooms were clean and neat. Carlos was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful which was very much appreciated.
Review 24:extremely expensive for the quality of the room, and on week ends people making noise with tuned cars keep you awake all night, I think Cabo de Hornos hotel is much better by far... and cheaper!
Review 25:old hotel with character excellent location
Review 26:The hotel was in a super location and was a lovely place to stay. In particular the towels were lovely and soft, makes a difference after several months traveling!
Review 27:Terrible bed. Street noise is quite perceptible (I stayed during weekend). Wifi almost not existant in my room. TV shows mostly snowy stations. In overall it felt a bit untended. There are better (more quiet and modern) options in town.
Review 28:The hotel resides in a historical building. It is located in the city centre, so everything is in walking distance. Good breakfast.
Review 29:Limited communal areas due to the nature of the hotel being part museum. Comfortable room though
Review 30:Excellent location. Great staff also. Very good laundry service.
Review 31:Close to the airport; large comfortable rooms and punctual free shuttle to the airport.
Review 32:Nothing much.
Review 33:Cosy hotel with a great location.
Review 34:The mattresses in our room were worn out and need to be changed
Review 35:Location, breakfast and general feel of the property
Review 36:Outdated and not really a happening place.
Review 37:Historical Building, nice architecture, cool bar.
Review 38:Very helpful staff
Review 39:The building achtecture and its history. The location in the heart of Punta Arenas makes easy to acces others main sites.
Review 40:The hour of checkin and checkout
Review 41:Staff Beds
Review 42:Dining room had been hired out for private function
Review 43:Simple convenience and helpful reception
Review 44:nothing
Review 45:Very nice hotel in city center. Good rooms, nice pub at the same building with different entrance.
Review 46:lovely hotel with character, no t the most modern in furnishings but comfortable. room charges a little steep for the amenities.
Review 47:Room was one of the smallest I have ever had. We were stepping in our suitcases to get to the bathroom.
Review 48:Lovely hotel with character
Review 49:Rooms facing the street are very noisy especially on a Sat night
Review 50:Great hotel with a strong sense of history
Review 51:No real restaurant on premises
Review 52:Almost everything
Review 53:Reception staff weren't overly enthusiastic, restaurant was closed for 12 months for renovation
Review 54:Style of building, Shackleton Bar, Location.
Review 55:Bathroom too small, buzzing noise from wind gusts due to non airtight windows
Review 56:Location, helpful personnel, decoration, free parking inside, free WiFi
Review 57:The whole experience was soured by the staff attitude - firstly by the reception staff; then reinforced by the barstaff and again at breakfast (which was served almost an hour late!!). This was our 16th hotel whilst travelling across South America during the past few months and this was the worst service seen across all of them. 1 Star Service!
Review 58:Superb historic building and room was small but lovely. Our suite even had a dressing room. We liked the old fashioned window shutters on the windows. 4 or 5 Star Accommodation.
Review 59:Vile breakfast.
Review 60:Historic mansion where explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton sought help to rescue his crew of the Endurance which had been crushed by Antarctic ice.
Review 61:On returning after our day trip someone had been in our room. Our cases had been moved and looked through which we found very strange. Certain zips were open which we had closed before.
Review 62:Excellent location. Very large rooms. Good food and Restaurant.
Review 63:We left our cases for 1 week while travelling, on our return the cases had been opened and certain items removed. Quite a dissapointment of trust as the hotel was very nice.
Review 64:Hotel was very nice and comfortable. Well situated. Breakfast good aswell.
Review 65:The Wifi was really only accessible in the lobby.
Review 66:The staff was super helpful, even letting me use their telephone for long conversations with LAN airlines for my lost luggage!
Review 67:Breakfast was somewhat disappointing, given the caliber of the hotel. When I asked they did bring out some other items (eg natural yogurt). The breakfast and bar staff seems somewhat uninterested, which was a big contrast from other staff.
Review 68:Old world charm, front desk and room staff friendly and helpful, gorgeous building with its own museum attached, beautiful conservatory restaurant
Review 69:My room was small, the window was blocked off on the top, my companion was given a lovely suite for the same price.
Review 70:Beautiful historic hotel
Review 71:Worst breakfast i've ever seen.
Review 72:Great location, friendly staff, amazing building.
Review 73:Breakfast staff was unattentive and the food rather basic. Loved every thing else about the hotel, would stay there again
