Reviews for Hotel La Aldea

Review 1:Wifi and price(it's more about town in general)

Review 2:Location doesn't matter since town is very small. Staff were helpful, room was clean and breakfast was good.

Review 3:The room itself was a little less clean than what I'd expected, a notch above Motel 6, but similar to what you can expect from South America. I felt like the room should've only cost $75 US as opposed to over $100 US.

Review 4:Staff were helpful and friendly. Location good. Breakfast was a great addition. View was very good. Free trekking poles were much appreciated!

Review 5:A huge pile of visible dust was under the bed - clearly it was long time ago since anyone cleaned that area. We decided to stay longer and double-checked the price before doing so. Upon the checkout there was attempt to charge us with higher price. After our protests we were charged what we expected, but experience could have been better

Review 6:We chose this hotel since we needed good wifi and reviews said it was ok. As for wifi in El Chalten it was indeed ok. Most of the time staff was nice and helpful.

Review 7:Very helpfull and sweet Staff that really make you feel at Home! Small but clean rooms, and bathrooms. Good breakfast with great view, a top Location 2 min from the busstation at the Big square but still Not noisy! Rooms on top have a view and a very sweet dog lives Outside who loves to cuddle if you should have the Time...

Review 8:Wi-fi is slow but at least they have it. It is unavailable many places in town.

Review 9:Outstanding Breakfast; very helpful staff; free use of trekking poles; wonderful lobby to sit in, have a drink, relax and make new friends; ability to store bags while hiking.

Review 10:Our room (21) was an upstairs one and the low eaves in it were a constant problem - until we remembered about them (after banging our heads several times). Room was very small.

Review 11:Good base from which to do one say treks. Easy to reach restaurants supermarkets and walks - although most of the walks start a little way from the town. Breakfasts OK but a bit monotonous if you stay for a week.

Review 12:For that prize I would have expected a better breakfast, but maybe a limited choice at breakfast is just the South American way.

Review 13:The staff was very friendly and helpful

Review 14:The hotel staff were very helpful. they helped us to book taxi, planning our hikes, even let use store our extra luggage there when we were not their customers any more.

Review 15:Very expensive for size of room and facilities.

Review 16:Location and breakfast were good.

Review 17:Old and worn Inadequate breakfast

Review 18:Location

Review 19:Bathrooms are too small.

Review 20:Very close to the busstand. walking distance (100ft)

Review 21:Bathroom was slightly small

Review 22:Great place to relax in the hiking capital of Argentina el chalten. Nearby to main bus station. Great breakfast spread to start off the hiking day

Review 23:The rooms were very different from what it is shown on the pictures, extremely small and very basic. The bathroom very unsatisfactory

Review 24:The view of the Fitz Roy and the friendly staff.

Review 25:The heating made the room too hot at the current temperature. Although the hotel was nice it was quite pricey for its standard.

Review 26:The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very fresh. It is also very centrally located, close to the bus stop and main street.

Review 27:Very friendly and helpful staff. Best breakfast we had in Argentina and good coffee too. Great value for money, we would definitely recommend la Aldea!

Review 28:Very small and dirty room especially the bathroom. Room was not at all as shown on the pictures unfortunately.

Review 29:Very nice guy at reception who helped us with all our questions.

Review 30:Rooms are small, warm and very clean. Not exactly a fault. You can tellEdwardo takes greatl pride in his hotel. Steep stairs to the top rooms, however there are bottom rooms without stairs.

Review 31:Edwardo the host was why you would stay at a hotel like this. Nothingwas a problem and his knowledge of weather and trails in the area wassuperb. El Chalten is about the mountains and in the mountains it'sall about weather. His Internet tools are very useful. Hot chocolate todie for and surprisingly good coffee! Best so far in Argentina andChile. The lobby is wonderfully warm and welcoming and needed as youwill have a rain day or two, particularly in winter (June). Great for abeer when you get off the mountain.

Review 32:The staff was very nice. The room was lovely, with a great view! lovely sunrises! warm and clean. The breakfast was very complete for Argentinian breakfast.

Review 33:Walls are masonry, but you can hear every flush from above. Fortunately everyone is exhausted at the end of the day from hiking there is not much waking hours in your room.

Review 34:Staff was excellent and location is PERECTO! Good value for the $ and the best bang for your buck restaurant is one block away. WE had a fabulous time at Hotel La Aldea and El Chalten!

Review 35:The view from our rooms were not great (fence) and the wall was a bit old but that was not that important in the end.

Review 36:The breakfast was good as was the reception area : very good views on the mountains, nice deco and bar. Very close to the bus station.

Review 37:The staff was very friendly and helpful, and since we did not have any computer the use of the computers was very important to us. The location is great!

Review 38:Noisy in the morning due to guests rolling their luggage in the corridor

Review 39:Very nice personal, managed to give us a king sized bed even if we had booked twin beds. The room was nice with a view on Fitz Roy and the common room very cosy for a beer after hiking!

Review 40:Undertrained staff! La Aldea still has much room to grow in providing the timely and expected service that travellers pay for and whom provide almost the exclusive source of income to this small town.

Review 41:E te timFantastic view of Cerro Fitz Roy and fantastic breakfast.

Review 42:Well, there was a glitch- showers; 50cm by 1 m, with a terrible plasticcurtain constantly trying to get stuck to you.

Review 43:First of all, it´s probably the prettiest hotel in El Chalten. Secondly, you get to love it when you get of the bus and find out taxis are notthat common in the town, so you have to drag your bags to your hotel. What a joy it is to find that your hotel is just a block away! Then, thestaff: offering the best hiking, eating and whatever advice ever. Plus, all that is done with the warmest, nicest, not ¨you-are –my-money/client – so-I´ll – be-helpful ¨ fashion but with the humantouch and genuine interest. We loved staying there.

Review 44:Rooms quite small with low dormer ceiling. Bathroom had unpleasant sewer smell. Over priced you can get cheaper for better value.

Review 45:Nice view on the Fitz Roy.

Review 46:Location was convenient and we had a nice view from the room.

Review 47:Too far from town center.

Review 48:Staff is friendly

Review 49:Staff Really not dédicated to the service. Rates very high compared to the service offered. The bad expérience in Argentina.

Review 50:Lovely place. Clean and comfortable and very friendly staff. Thank you

Review 51:Eduardo is a lovely host who takes pride in his business and really cares about your experience. Great place to stay!

Review 54:Small but nice room, view of Fitz Roy, good location.

Review 55:Heating in the room. Way too hot and we were not allowed to turn it off.

Review 56:Edwardo and all the staff were extremely helpful.

Review 57:wonderful find! clean, warm rooms, helpful and friendly staff, great location, great value.

Review 58:good price

Review 59:Room very small and ugly. Bathroom even smaller. Could do with some refurbishing. Looked like a backpackers but at a high price.

Review 60:Having all services for such a good price (wi fi, computers, TV). Excellent 1st class breakfast. Extremely gentle staff.
