Reviews for Auberge Les Jardins Inn-Motel Le Brayon & Chalets

Review 1:Staff were not as friendly as I'm used to at hotels. Only one cup of coffee in the room and by the time we left at 8 am still no sign of staff. Restaurant was closed for supper and breakfast.

Review 2:Beautiful facility

Review 3:I had to ask for a snow shovel to clean in front of the door. Snow piled up. This should have been shoveled by owner. Cable didn't work and plug behind bed was scary.

Review 4:Quiet location. Very clean.

Review 5:Love these cabins - so cozy and with great, hand crafted pine furniture. Only down side is the "kitchenette" but we managed to make it work for us. Love that we can have the dog with us in the cabin.

Review 6:The mattresses are old and uncomfortable and the cabins are musty from years of smokers. It wouldn't take much to improve the situation, but it's not happening.

Review 7:The proximity to the highway and the Botanical Gardens was excellent

Review 8:Our feet got dirty walking on the floor, the price was the highest of everywhere we stayed in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia and every other place included a continental breakfast at no charge and here they were charging $6.00 so we did not stay for breakfast.

Review 9:The beds were very comfortable and the room size was good but only 1 chair. The shower was very good.

Review 10:It is a weird place, with a relatively nice inn attached to a cheap motel. It is ok for Edmundston, but I find all accommodations there overpriced.

Review 11:Good location, near a provincial park and out of the town of Edmundston. There is a swing and a pool.

Review 12:Motel rooms were very dated and smelly. Bed mattresses were old and uncomfortable and in poor shape

Review 13:The main house with the reception and dining area were well kept

Review 14:The breakfast was ok but could use some improvements for the price. Most places offer free continental breakfast.

Review 15:Great location and it's great when hotels welcome our pet as he always travels with us and so many places are not pet friendly

Review 16:Breakfast did not accommodate those with allergy restrictions (thankfully had some food with us); the restaurant was fully booked so could not have dinner there upon arrival (I think they had a large party from outside of the hotel). Expansive.

Review 17:Lovely room and bathroom, clean, responsive staff to issue of damp but clean towels that awaited us upon arrival. Beautiful facility overall.

Review 18:The mattresses and pillows are due for a change, and the cabins still smell stuffy from smokers.

Review 19:The proximity to the highway and the Botanical Gardens were great, the kitchenette was adequately stocked, the premises were quiet at night.

Review 20:the room had a musty bad odor. The breakfast was not worth the $6 being charged. The name of the street was confusing as it should be listed by town. I ended up being in another town and had to ask for directions

Review 21:the ladies at the desk both days were very helpful and extremely polite

Review 22:In spite of the fact that the check-in time is 3PM and I arrived after that, my room wasn't ready. There were only six cars in the parking lot all night, so I don't think this was reasonable. One of the beds in my room hadn't been made since the last guest was there. The spread had been pulled up. Because I travel alone I choose accomodation that includes a restaurant. It is closed on Sundays, but their advertisement didn't indicate that.

Review 23:A little cramped in the cabin-according to my wife, but I loved it.

Review 24:Great location en route to the maritimes. Pet friendly with wooded property. Cosy little Cottage with full amenities.

Review 25:Poorly equipped motel room. No fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker.

Review 26:Very convenient location near the freeway, just north of Edmundston. Easy parking in front of our motel room.

Review 27:Had to upgrade after looking at the motel room. Small, damp, tile floor throughout was just old and not appropriate for my wife and I.

Review 28:Upgraded to King Suite in the lodge and they room was small but very nice.

Review 29:I don't like that when I have a question and I speak only english that it is translated in French to another employee. We all live in Canada and English is our first language.

Review 30:I like that it was very different from any other hotel and still had all the amenities.

Review 31:Ordered (6oz) beef tenderloin medium rare. Came back well over cooked in addition to having it cut open 3/4 quarters of the way. Also forced to have fries with it as no choice of anything else was available. This at a listed cost of $28. Previous night in Ottawa, had a 8 oz cooked to perfection at a cost of $29.

Review 32:Insufficient light in room (just 2 lamps) No coffee maker. Restaurant disappointing (given its pretentions) - choice of main course almost entirely burgers. Breakfast (extra charge) rather bland. Motel rooms questionable value for money.

Review 33:(Motel room) Well furnished & quite spacious. Clean. Good location - quiet despite closeness to highway.

Review 34:Hard to find. We found out that there are 3 different principale streets in Edmunston and our GPS was very confused. So we wasted close to an hour trying to find it.

Review 35:Close to the highway

Review 36:- the restaurant has changed from a very nice bistro to an upscale burger bar - the motel rooms are getting a tad shabby - the included breakfast is on par with a Journey's End, not for an "Auberge" - for what you now get, the price is just too high

Review 37:- location - the receptionist

Review 38:The rooms in the motel could use some updating. Linoleum floor tiles pulling up and did not seem clean. Carpet would be better. Pillows too flat and mattresses a bit soft. Tub stopper filthy, should have been replaced.

Review 39:Easy access on and off highway. Nice that a restaurant in main building so we didn't have to drive somewhere for dinner. The food in the restaurant was very good. Did have A/C.

Review 40:Where do I start! Room we had smelled musty, had to take our car air freshener and put it on the inadequate air conditioner. It was a window one, probably from the 1950s. The wi-fi was non existent, even though they advertised it. Very old furnishings!

Review 41:The main building and grounds were very nice

Review 42:We felt that some of the furnishings and linens could have been updated easily to change the feeling of being so dated. But they were clean and well maintained.

Review 43:It is located in an easy to reach spot. At first the Auberge seemed a little too old but once inside, the surroundings are well kept and felt very comfortable. The main building offers a lovely intimate restaurant with outstanding upscale burgers as well as other choices. Nice spot all around!

Review 44:We had booked a room but changed to the chalet. The motel room were not to my liking ( it looks old and not too clean, especially the washroom) That is the room I look first, if the washroom is clean the rest will be ok. The chalets were a little better. But then again the washroom were much too small. You couldn't turn around.

Review 45:I like the cosiness.

Review 46:Fantastic room (Maple room). Couples Jacuzzi bath, comfy bed, very quiet. Restaurant has delicious food. Try the fiddlehead soup. Excellent staff!!! Friendly, courteous and professional.

Review 47:What a lovely spot to stop on way through to Nova Scotia from Ontario. Perfect sleepover and as restaurant was closed. Perfect recommendation to eat at the Chantel steakhouse.

Review 48:The beds were hard and the rooms were small for the price we paid

Review 49:I liked the close proximity to the border and the staff was friendly. There was also good water pressure in the shower.

Review 50:Great restaurant. Easy parking. Quite economical.

Review 51:Fridge ,microwave and a table would have been good. One queen bed rather than two doubles would create the space.

Review 52:Location

Review 53:The motel section is very dated. Felt like i was traveling 25 years ago.

Review 54:Very Clean Facilities.

Review 55:Lovely facility. Near the Canadian National Highway and Botanical Gardens. Very nice. Gym and outdoor pool.

Review 56:Cigarette smoke getting into my room.

Review 57:Restaurant

Review 58:Breakfast could use some improvements.

Review 59:Great location and welcomed our little dog, who always travels with us.

Review 60:rooms are old and show it. breakfast is EXTRA.

Review 61:Bed was terrible and old, pillows also awful and the TV was ancient.

Review 62:Lovely location

Review 63:Outdated and price

Review 64:Enjoyed the nearby walking path towards the gardens.

Review 65:That we saw a rating of 4.5 and it was not

Review 66:The room was clean

Review 67:Convenient location - friendly staff

Review 68:Room was dated and blind broken.

Review 69:Dinner was superb and a deal

Review 70:Motel room flooring needs repair, also questionable cleanliness especially around baseboard in bathroom

Review 71:Comfortable bed, quiet location

Review 72:Should have complimentary continental breakfast included.

Review 73:Great location, very clean. Good spot to stop after long drive from Ontario.

Review 74:Motel room was simple and clean, but overpriced.

Review 75:Convenient location close to highway.

Review 76:Clean and quiet, Pool area was nice with covered area to BBQ

Review 77:Rooms were not clean and we were not able to check out in the a.m as there was nobody in the office and it was locked.

Review 78:The staff are friendly. The restaurant is great and the rooms are clean

Review 79:Great location, staff and dining

Review 80:Nothing but burgers now and to expensive for a burger

Review 81:Restaurant was a little pricey.

Review 82:Nice location, close to TCH. Beautiful little town.

Review 83:Dining menu very limited Wifi only worked in a small area of hotel

Review 84:Location close to freeway

Review 85:Supposed to have wi-fi but could bot connect! Toilet leaking water from bottom. Musty smell when you enter.

Review 86:Easy access to hiway

Review 87:Pool water cold (not heated). Restaurant closed on mondays.

Review 88:Good deal. Comfortable rooms.

Review 89:It was easy to find, extremely comfortable, and felt like home! Loved the gourmet burgers!

Review 90:Convenient location. Nice pool.

Review 91:The bed was hard and breakfast cost extra and didn't have a great selection.

Review 92:A beautiful spot with adorable and homey rooms! We were very pleased with the price and overall stay.

Review 93:We were misleading by the GPS by the address given by the Internet, drove extra 20 kms because of that.

Review 94:The place is clean enough, better than average motels. I think worth money if all you need is a clean place to stay.

Review 95:That it was so cold but the auberge can't help that.

Review 96:I was delighted with the provincial and territorial theme of the rooms. I found my room, PEI theme, nicely furnished with a photo of our Anne and a wood hanging of the Island's floral emblem, the Lady's Slipper. A great decorating touch!

Review 97:Went to check out at 7.00 and no one at the desk yet. Had to wait and wait till 7.30 am. Was supposed to be a continental breakfast at 6.30 but nothing. I think the owner slept in and forgot about daylight savings time change. Came out to check me out with housecoat on and no coffee or anything for breakfast. I guess things happen.

Review 98:very quiet, outside drive up, great bed and food was excellent although a little over priced but great overall.

Review 99:Cold in room when we got there, no carpet or area rugs on laminate floor, so that was cold .(It was very cold outside too) Rough sheets, comforter way too heavy and rough material too, Mattress very hard. Other than that room was fine. Quiet motel.

Review 100:Nice waitress at dinner. Check was fine.

Review 101:Excellent non chain hotel. Rooms are not cookie cutter all the same, you can see the personal caring touch. If we head this way again we would not hesitate to stay.

Review 102:No coffee or coffee maker in room. Everything small, room, desk. etc. Could not increase the volume on TV. When a complaint was made, no action taken. Facilities did not live up to expectations

Review 103:Nothing stands out

Review 104:Being asked to pay $6.00 for a cold continental breakfast and we stayed in room 14 and the bed was the hardest bed I ever slept on

Review 105:Great location. Good people

Review 106:Dining room is fabulous except for the swinging door to kitchen, extremely noisy due to its constant use. Could easily ruin a great dinner experience. The bed in BC room is hard as rock & very uncomfortable. Air conditioner extremely noisy, could not open windows (no screens), so room was too hot. Bad, bad sleep.

Review 107:3rd stay at this hotel. The food was good but not exceptional as in past visits, not up to its usual standard (must have changed chefs). The hotel itself has a nice, warm antique décor. Pool is great for families

Review 108:Wifi did not work and when I reported it, was met with indifference. I was told I could come work in their sitting room. I had travelled all day and was tired, wished to do my work in private. The room was dirty, smelled strongly of some chemical. Cheap mattresses very uncomfortable. I stayed there a few years ago and enjoyed it. Not this time. offering a free cold breakfast (which i declined, just wanting to be done with the place) does not compensate for the discomfort and inconvenience. I will not be returning but will make sure I tell others not to stay there.

Review 109:Leaving and never returning.

Review 110:The motel rooms to b updated in decor. The restaurant was to xpensive not a lot of selection. Catered more to people living in the area, not tourists

Review 111:Atmosp

Review 112:Overpriced! Facilities ancient @ $109 Food somewhat successful in attempting fine France style was overpriced double. Evening cost $264 value was about $150

Review 113:I booked at the Auberge Les Jardins but landed in the Motel Le Brayon. Afar cry from the online photos! There is a dining room at the Aubergebut could not avail ourselves of the facility because a passing bus tourgroup had booked the place for supper. Try and find alternate eatingfacility in a small village in the middle of nowhere...

Review 114:Bed a little bit small. no fridge

Review 115:Charming place and very nice staff.

Review 116:clogged drain in shower, bathroom exhaust fan didn't work and the room smelled like smoke.

Review 117:comfortable bed

Review 118:Slow Wi-Fi Closed restaurant Small room

Review 119:Cleanliness Quietness Price (-50% off)

Review 120:No wifi in motel area

Review 121:Price and proximity ti highway

Review 122:Friendly staff. Nice restaurant

Review 123:Access to hotel had not been cleared and was very slippery. A small fridge would have been nice.

Review 124:Lovely comfortable room.

Review 125:was a little difficult to control temperature in the middle of winter

Review 126:rooms were very clean and nice quality

Review 127:clean comfortable room. Excellent price
