Reviews for Hotel Cabo De Hornos
Review 1:There was a lot of noise during the first night due to street racing. However the hotel staff were wonderful in moving us to a quieter room. We were grateful!
Review 2:Great location, great facilities and comfortable room
Review 3:Bar staff spoke no English which made ordering anything a challenge even with a small amount of Spanish. This is a hotel used by a lot of English speaking tour groups so it would be helpful to have a little English spoken by bar staff.
Review 4:Good location. Helpful front desk staff. Hotel was clean and efficient. Breakfast ok but not fabulous. Handy to most things. Comfortable and probably one of the best options in Punta Arenas.
Review 5:Pillows in the room were not changed. It was stained and very smelly. Brackish water coming out of the faucet. Poor service at the restaurant and lack of coordination with the reception. We checked in and gave our credit card for incidentals , but after eating at the hotel restaurant , the waiter follows us up to the room with the credit card machine and tells us that the reception does not have it on file. Very inefficient.
Review 6:Finding a PowerPoint for charging was a battle In the room Wifi was quite poor in the rooms/ dropped out. We had to go to common areas which only had seats in foyer or computer room to get any speed.
Review 7:English speaking reception staff were very helpful including printing our boarding passes. Hotel had a nice feel to it despite being quite big. Stayed 1 night after Patagonia before flying out. Breakfast was nice, all the main items included/ on offer. Bed was comfy, king/ large bed was a single mattress.
Review 8:Food only satisfactory, staff only interested in the large tour groups and served us as a couple very slowly, we had to ask for our table to be cleared. the restaurant manager did very little to make things better just interfered with his staff slowing them down when they were perfectly competent without him.
Review 9:Clean and quiet
Review 10:Wasn't in Punta Arenas long enough
Review 11:Good choice. Central to the city centre and across the road from the markets. Breakfast was plentiful, rooms were roomy, bathrooms clean and spacious. Staff friendly and patient with non-Spanish speaking visitors. I'd stay here again!
Review 12:drinks in the bar are not high quality (bottled pisco sour? c'mon!!) not as delicious as it used to be, I recommend you put more focus on this
Review 13:beautiful building excellent rooms
Review 14:There is no swimming pool if that's important to you. English speaking ability of staff is better at Cabo de Hornos than other hotels in Punta Arenas but for someone who speaks no Spanish, it's still a bit of a challenge. No mini fridge in the room. And like all Chilean hotels I have stayed at, there is no coffee maker in the room, something that is standard in just about all US hotels.
Review 15:Hotel Cabo de Hornos is equivalent in quality to a Marriott in big cities in the US. We stayed in a triple room (three beds for three adults), it's not cramped, and the big windows give good views of outside. Beds are comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. The hotel restaurant has a menu that captures the essence of Chilean cuisine in a sophisticated way. Complimentary WiFi, bottles of water for the room, and "good night" fruits (banana and orange). The complimentary breakfast is extensive and includes cook to order omelette. Staff is very friendly.
Review 16:Checkin and Check out is quick. De wifi worked every where.
Review 17:Really nice property with nice breakfast buffet.
Review 18:We had no bad experiences during our stay.
Review 19:All staff were exceptionally helpful at all times.
Review 20:limited parkservice restaurant service could be better
Review 21:fast check in clean rooms
Review 22:Breakfast on hotels same category are wide much better
Review 23:Service, cleanliness
Review 24:Location was great!
Review 25:I like the location across from the square, and our room had a wonderful view.
Review 26:Breakfast, position
Review 27:Our room was on the 7th floor. Very quiet. Wonderful views. Close to lots of restaurants. Nice breakfast.
Review 28:They have a no smoking policy in the building which I totally understand, however, there is nowhere on the premises to smoke unless you stand on the street outside. A suggestion would be to at least put a standing ashtray outside the door as there is nowhere else to extinguish your cigarette but on the pavement, right in front of the hotel entrance! The rooms are extremely warm, no airconditioning, only heating.
Review 29:The restaurant and food is excellent. I can highly recommend the Southern King Crab! Staff were friendly and most speak English which is very good.
Review 30:The staff was not very helpful with our luggage or when we asked about dinning options nearby. The shower didn't have hot water.
Review 31:Location. Good size room and comfortable bed.
Review 32:The street noise was so loud from the combination of partiers and street racers that you couldn't have the windows open at night and the rooms got a bit stuffy.
Review 33:Great location right on the plaza. Staff were very friendly at the desk and at breakfast.
Review 34:The wi-fi was a small problem, but that is pretty normal this far south. The place could use a spruce up.
Review 35:The location was great, right in the center or Punta Arenas. The overall vibe was pretty good.
Review 36:The hotel is dirty. We had to change our first room the carpet was worn and stained. There was one chair in the rooms, not enough for two travelers. Furniture scratched and cracked. Carpet needs replacement! It's gross
Review 37:Location was terrific. Breakfast was good. Maid service was good. Free water each day and fruit delivered each evening.
Review 38:Noisy during the night due to 'boy racers, although I suppose that is out of the hotel's control and I guess to be expected from a city hotel.
Review 39:Good restaurant and bar meals. Very attentive staff. Helpful reception.
Review 40:Room has a smell of dirty feet... Room 607... Rooms are too hot andwindows are closed by staff if you leave them opened. If a guest leavesthe window open its because they want it open... Staff should not decidefor the guest to close it and make it too hot again.
Review 41:Waiter Jorge in restaurant is the only waiter trained to look aftertravellers. The bar would have 5 staff but none working to serve onlystanding in a group talking. This waiter called Jorge would see uswaiting and kindly serve us. You should make him them leader and trainthe staff on his service style. Would make business travellers happy.Cleaning/room staff and frontvdesk staff all very good and nicepeople as well.
