Review 1：Perfect service for a 3* hotel. Very cozy and nice. I booked a standart room but was upgraded and got a better one. The hotel has perfect location: it is 1min walk from train station and not far away from lake. The staff is nice and pleasant

Review 2：Friendly welcoming staff. We had a large, comfortable modern room with a balcony and a view across the city. Enjoyed a good meal in the restaurant and the owner came around to say good evening and make sure everyone was happy. There was also a good selection for breakfast. It has a great location if you are travelling by train as it is near the station. However, it is near the top of the hill so a bit of a workout to get back from the city centre!

Review 3：I didnt like how they reception us, only the doorman and employs from breakfast was good. they didnt gave to us explanations about breakfast and other things basics. Different from all hotels what i have been in my life before.

Review 6：Bells from the church next door to the studio ring (loudly) at 7am every day. and there also seems to be some sort of bottle collection happen around 3am every day. Uncomfortably hard bed and large strangely located taps in bath that make it difficult to stand under the shower. No toaster.

Review 9：We had a large. Order room up high and it was excellent. Overall I would say this is more of a business hotel than a leisure or travellers hotel. It is very conveniently located by the train station and were the bus trip for the Bernina express leaves.

Review 10：Some people may not like having to walk back up the hill to the hotel after a day in town. It is a steep walk, but good exercise, and not very far. Definitely ask for the shuttle up to the train station with your luggage....it would be a struggle going up to the station with luggage, but not a problem getting down to hotel from station. The breakfast was adequate, but after the many wonderful breakfasts we experienced at different hotels in Europe, this one was lacking, unless you enjoy bread. There is a plethora of different kinds of bread. We did not have time to eat at the restaurant, but the food and the outdoor patio looked wonderful.

Review 11：The staff are extremely helpful, from bringing your luggage to your room to serving at the breakfast. the room was very comfortable, with very good air conditioning, and a small balcony. I believe this was the cleanest room we stayed in over 2 1/2 weeks in Europe. The location is ideal, across from the train station and a short walk to town and the lake.

Review 12：We stayed at the top floor facing the residential area but for some reason, we can still hear the traffic. Shower was a bit weird as curtain can only cover 2/3 of the area therefore easy to get floor wet.

Review 13：Close enough to train station but if have to pull your luggage to hike uphill which could be a bit challenging. Very pretty breakfast area. Same as other Swiss hotels we stayed along this trip: very clean. High ceiling made it feel more spacious.

Review 14：We stayed in room 506 which had an amazing view of the city and lake. It had a balcony where we sat and had a cheese, fruit and wine dinner and enjoyed the view. The breakfast was served in a lovely garden. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 17：We had a leak in our ceiling which really wasn't a big deal. And we were not able to get late check out, which was unfortunate because three of the five family members had some kind of stomach illness and it was 100 degrees outside and we had to leave. That was because another group was coming in so no one's fault really.

Review 21：It was very hot and there was no AC only a fan!! They advertised as having AC. Location is far from the lake and restaurants etc. It is a hike back up to hotel from the town. Had a leak in the bathroom sink so water was on the floor.

Review 22：Nice historic hotel and architecture. Close to the train station. The room was clean with a comfortable bed but without the AC it was so stuffy. Breakfast was good and we ate out in a beautiful little courtyard. The young man at the reception desk (I think his name is Luca) was FABULOUS at helping us plan a boat ride and trip up the funicular and even printed out the train schedule for us. He really made our stay in Lugano and at the Hotel Federale better.

Review 26：Although the train station is right across, the hotel is actually at a lower ground. To reach the hotel by foot, one has to lug luggage up and down a small overhead bridge, and then down a "ramp " to reach hotel. It is very convenient if you hv very little luggage, but could be a challenge if one has heavy luggages.

Review 41：Though the distance from the station is only 50 metres, but you need to walk down the hill for 4 storeys height. This should be awared if you have a big baggage. But that's not the big problem.

Review 43：Become a big issue when we have to bring our luggage up to the station. (The free lifting is not a standard... but more like an additional service). They get a taxi for us, and we have to spend Eur 20, to carry our 4 bags to the station. (From the statioon the hotel is hardly 300 meter straight line on the google map. 700 meters walking through the ramp.... but it is maybe more than 3 km by taxi).

Review 44：Location is very close to station as long as you dont carry your luggages. Information during check-in and other information on subsequent days are given very professionally. Breakfast room set-up , the range and quality of food and the quality of service in the first day was excellent (male attendant with good service. Unfortunately no english spoken).

Review 48：Great friendly service, could not ask for better ! We stayed in the annex with a roomy space and a well stocked kitchenette. Sound proof windows and AC assured a great sleep. Location was ideal: short walks to the train station and to downtown. Even the weather was perfect.

Review 49：plenty of space - as a five person family being in one room is a bit of a squash, but we were given two connecting rooms so we all had plenty of space and a little balcony. Staff were very friendly, it felt like a well run small hotel, and felt more luxurious than the three stars would suggest. It was also nice to be able to request a kettle in our room, to make tea when we needed it. Only regret was that we only stayed one night, it would have been nice to stay for longer.

Review 51：Live near the roof on the top floor. Need to walk along the stairs after taking off from the lift. But the room is very special and I don't mind anymore. Good service and good staff. Heavy rain when I left the hotel, the staff drive me to the train station even the distance is short. It helps a lot as I got a lot of luggages.

Review 55：The fit out for the studio apartment was good. It included all the necessaries - small fridge, microwave, stove, A/C and sufficient crockery, cutlery, table and chairs, luggage rack, cleaning solutions etc. The room was quite spacious. The apartments are in a separate building below the hotel and are easy to get to from the station with wheeled luggage. The hotel staff kindly gave us a lift up to the station with our luggage - otherwise the trek up to the station would be onerous as it is quite steep.

Review 64：The Hotel is so close to the train station. We crossed a pedestrian bridge and then walked down beautifully landscaped ramps to the hotel entrance. We had a family room on the 6th floor. It was quite spacious and immaculately clean. There were two large dormer windows which offered different views of the surrounding mountains. An addition large window in the bathroom. It was an easy walk to the lakeside/center of town. Very polite, helpful staff. I would love to stay again, at this beautiful hotel.
