Reviews for Royal Golden Hotel

Review 1:When we arrived the staff was really rude with me, none of them could speak english so my girlfriend had to speak with them in Portuguese, they kept sending us evil looks and being rude. When we got in the room we asked for the staff for towels for the swimming pool, they replied saying that they swimming pool wasn't available, but we could try later. We tried later and nobody could explain why the swimming pool wasn't available, so we decided to stay in the room and use the hot tub, problem was: only the hot water knob was working, as Brazil is a super warm country, the cold water is necessary to make the water better so.. we couldn't use the hot tub, plus the hot tub area was a complete dirty mess, hair on the walls, chewing gun stucked in the glass.. The next day we were sleeping and the room next door started with a really loud noise (we choose this room exactly for being "noise free" ) when we complained with the staff they did absolutely nothing. They're completely unprepared, we paid 411,00 expecting good and we end up wit a terrible service and place.

Review 2:Good location.

Review 3:Towels only for 1 person, we were 2. Slow service in empty restaurant and starters arrived together with main course. Cooperation agreement with restaurant Ambrosio`s was not adhered, to. Manager had to go there to get the promised discount..

Review 4:This hotel gave me the best room I've stayed at in any hotel in 5 months in South America, and it is one of the least expensive. The room was crisp, clean and quiet with quality modern furnishings and equipment. The staff were all excellent.

Review 5:Internet was down 2x, and electricity was down 1x for a number of hours. Without airco, the room became even hotter than outside!

Review 6:Excellent location, close to UFMG. Good restaurants nearby.

Review 7:Savassi has heave trafic in the evening and it might take extra time to get back from work.

Review 8:Excelente location. Lots of bars, restaurants and shops in Savassi area. The weekends are really incredible in this part of BH.

Review 9:Cable tv had such a horrible reception, the screen picture was belowaverage even for Brazilian standards. I also don't know whyBooking.com didn't give the final room cost including taxes andwhatever; I wouldn't stay in this hotel if I knew I'd have topay taxes even for a small bottle of water once there were better hotelsin the neighborhood for a lower cost (not sure if they had taxes or not, thought, this seriously bothers me - I don't know how much I'mgonna have to pay cause there are some uncalculated taxes). Bathroomamenities were just meh.

Review 10:The location, breakfast, staff and room service were awesome.

Review 11:The decor is sleek, contemporary and has a European feel; breakfast was extensive with a healthy bent. A really great shower, and an array of pillows to choose from (soft to hard) add to the thoughtfulness of this fine hotel.

Review 12:Wifi wasn't strong enough, downtown can be a bit insecure at night (like everywhere), too expensive for what you get, no dishware at all.

Review 13:Breakfast, location is good to reach other places, and the personnel was pretty kind.

Review 14:clean, safe, great location

Review 15:Location and the staff

Review 16:Everything was excellent, I like Royal Golden Hotel, very much.

Review 17:A kettle in the room would have been useful, as well as tea cups.

Review 18:The breakfast was very nice. The hotel is near to some very good restaurants.

Review 19:The bathroom could be more spacious.

Review 20:Great Staff, delicious breakfast.

Review 21:Conforto e localização.

Review 22:Paid a much higher price while booking early in advance in January than if we had booked just a few weeks back , and did not want to adjust our exaggerated fifa copa rate.

Review 23:The service and friendliness of everybody was just fantastic. Thanks Sofia at the reception and all your colleagues, also in the restaurant. All so sympathetic and helpful

Review 24:Leaving. :-(

Review 25:I liked the staff, who were very helpful, and courteous and who smiled a welcome at me the moment I walked up to the front desk. I was given very thorough information when I wanted to know about the Conexao executive bus to the airport the following morning. In addition to this, the gentleman at the front desk gave me a book containing the timetables.I was also very impressed when I went to breakfast, situated on the Mezzanine floor, next morning. The Maitre D' was smiling, welcoming and helpful. I first went to get some juice. The range of fresh juices was impressive. Not the usual tired range of watery juices. These juices were the real thing and some were actually juice cocktails! I went for the fresh orange and carrot juice, although I also tried a fruit juice which also contained kale ('couve' in Portuguese). It was really nice! Right beside the juices were ice-cubes, if you wished your juice to be chilled and water (in case you do actually like your juice watery!)The self-service buffet, which included cereals, fruit ( a very nice range) yoghurts, cheese and cold meats, cakes and bread, was arranged in a very attractive fashion and everything looked very appetising. Each table had a little notice , written in both English and Portuguese, which explained that you could order an omelette, if you wished. I was a little taken aback when I read the small print which said that, if you did not consume everything you took from the buffet, there would be a charge of R$ 30 (€10)! Whilst not condoning waste, this was a bit of an eyebrow-raiser! The Maitre d' happened to be passing at the time and I asked him if this was a joke or for real. He smiled benignly at me and told me not to worry, that I would not be charged. "We do not charge beautiful women", he beamed. Top marks for charm!

Review 26:There was a one feet step on the bathroom entrance that I hit it twice. =/ Big room, small bathroom.

Review 27:The room and bed are very big and confortables. Kindness of the employees

Review 28:Currently going to through renovations in the swimming pool and gym so there was no facilities to use. The internet was very poor and kept cutting out. The safe didn't work

Review 29:It's a bit expensive but I didn't care too much. Belo Horizonte is not really a touristic attraction. So you only go there if you have to.

Review 30:It's just a nice hotel. Looks very classy. Nice breakfast too.

Review 31:The hotel invoice is a bit unclear and includes different tax items (room tax, service tax, 5% tax ???).

Review 32:The staff was very helpful although I met some people at the reception that don't speak English. The breakfast was very good, with fantastic tropical fruit. The room was very ni and clean.

Review 33:Nothing to complain about the hotel. But, as in any other big city, Iwould advice pedestrians to take special attention for pickpockets whenwalking in the busy streets nearby.

Review 34:Had a nice stay in the Royal Golden Towers Hotel. It's located inthe Savassi area, which hosts some of the best restaurants, coffeshops, nightclubs and pâtisseries.
